  • Inorganic binding material was made by recycled resource and its applicability as pile-filling material was examined. The result was that the material had same liquidity with the liquidity of OPC and high reactivity with site soil. According to dynamic/static loading tests by site test-construction, the inorganic binding material met both design bearing capacity and settlement. Since the inorganic binding material showed same or better performance than OPC, the utilization possibility of the inorganic binding material made of recycled resource as pile-filling material was verified.

  • The composite PC rahmen structure, called Green Frame, allows the main structural members such as PC column and beam to be produced on the site, resulting in a reduction of PC member transportation cost and the margin of PC plant (operation cost and profit), making it more economic than the bearing wall structure. To apply the Green Frame to practice, not only installation but also insitu-production process should be considered. Therefore, this study analyse the influence factors on insitu-production and installation schedule of composite precast concrete members. The results shall be used as basic criteria on the planning of insitu-production and installation of Green Frame.

  • Remarkable progress has been performed in power electronics, using high frequency switching based on the improvement of power semi-conductor devices. In the other hands, it gives us serious problems, such as, insulation, increasing of the high frequency leakage current, and electric corrosion of bearing in the loaded motors driven by inverters using high frequency switching. To improve these problems, many researches have made especially on the application of soft switching technologies. From this point of view IEE-Japan had started the research groups on soft-switching technology 1997 and 1999. This paper is a survey based on the discussion in this research group with results of ARCP inverter applied for 210kVA power supply.

  • Bi-2223/Ag superconducting wires have been mainly prepared by a powder-in-tube method. The drawing and the rolling are main processes to increase the core density and wire length. In the fabrication of long wire, especially, the drawing should be precisely controlled to assure the filament homogeneity. In this paper, the influences of drawing die angle, bearing length and reduction ratio on the sausaging and the critical current density of the wire are investigated. Single cored and multi-filamentary wires are fabricated by PIT method with different conditions. The core densities and sausaging in the wires are investigated and are discussed regarding their relationship to the I$_{c}$. It was made clear that the geometry of drawing die is sensitively dependent on the sausaging. The improvement of I$_{c}$ was achieved by reducing the die angle and high core density.ity.

  • Faults in induction motors can be categorized into mechanical faults and electrical faults, and most mechanical faults result from inferiority or damage of the bearing, while most electrical faults derive from insulation faults of stator windings and rotor bar cracks. When a crack appears on the rotor bar, its efficiency decreases, which increases energy consumption and temperature, reducing the life span of the motor. This kind of fault can only be sensed by the protection relay after the condition has worsened to a certain degree, bringing massive economic loss. This paper will deal with the diagnosis method of rotor bar faults through the load current analysis method of the motor used during operation.

  • A practical recursive weighted least square(WLS) solution is proposed to solve the passive ranging problem. Apart from the previous works based on the extended Kalman filter(EKF), to ensure the convergency at long-range, the proposed scheme makes use of line-of-sight(LOS) rate instead of bearing information. The influence of LOS rate measurement errors is investigated and it is asserted that the WLS estimates contain bias and scale factor errors. Together with simple compensation algorithm, the estimation errors of proposed filter can be reduced dramatically.

  • Epithermal deposits are an important class of hydrothermal deposits, that have recently seen an surge of exploration and research, principally as significant resources of gold and silver. Epithermal deposits form at shallow depths (surface to 1-2km) and temperatures less than 30$0^{\circ}C$ (Hayba et al., 1985), and encompass a variety of low-sulfidation (near-neutral pH, reduced fluid; LS) and high-sulfidation (acidic and oxidized fluid; HS) deposits (Sillitoe, 1993; White and Hedenquist, 1995). • The electric motor is essential to drive turbo machinery. In order to overcome the speed limitations of general motors, the inverter is used to perform high speed to tens of rpm. The high speed drives are widely used in many applications such as turbo blower, turbo centrifugal compressors, and pump using air bearing technique. Starting of high speed motor can cause step out, stall, oscillation of motor because the phase inductance is much smaller than that of ordinary motor. This paper studied on the starting characteristic of variable speed centrifugal chiller considering high speed motor characteristics. Finally, the superiority of the inverter is verified by experimental results.
