비틀림전단시험에 의한 모래의 강도특성 (Strength Characteristics of Sand in Torsion Shear Tests)

  • 주응력회전시 모래의 강도특성을 연구하기 위하여 일련의 응력경로에 대해 시험을 실시하였다. 이들 결과는 공시체의 높이에 따라 25cm와 40cm로 분류할 수 있으며 공시체에 작용된 토르 크(Torque)는 시계방향으로만 작용시켰다. 본 연구에서는 비 틀림전단시험시 주응력비에 대한 모래의 강도특성이 조사되었고 그 결과를 Lade의 파괴규준과 비교하여 보았다. 그리고 공시체높 이에 대한 영향을 고려하였다. 이들 시험결과로 부터 모래의 내부마찰각은 축차주응력비 $b:(\sigma_2 -\sigma_s)/(\sigma_2,-\sigma_3)$에 많은 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 모래의 파괴강도는 응력경로에 영향을 받지 않고 현재의 응력상태에 의해 결정 되어지며 25cm와 40cm 높이의 공시체에 대한 비교로부터 단부구속의 영향은 발견할 수 없었다. 그리고 신장력이 작용된 b=0.5 이상인 시험에서는 변형을 국부현상에 의한 Necking현상이 발견되었다.

입방체형삼축시험에 의한 모래의 3차원거동 및 예측 (Three Demensional Behavior of Sand in Cubical Triaxial Tests and Its Prediction)

  • A series of drained cubical triaxial tests was performed to investigate the finfluence of the intermediate principal stress on the deformation and strength characteristics of sand. Test results showed that the strength of sand as represented by the friction angle increased from triaxial compression condition (b:0) with increasing magnitude of the intermediate principal stress until the vus of b reached 0.75, land it decreased slightly with closing to b= 1. Also it was found that the projection of the plastic strain increment vector on the octahedral plane was perpendicular to the trace of the failure surface on that plane. The prediction by the isotropic single hardening model sllowed good coinidence with experimental results.

비대칭 하중을 받고 비대칭 변위가 주어진 축대칭 물체의 응력해석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Stress Analysis ofAxi-symetric Body with N on-symetric Load and N on-symetric Given Displacements)

  • Stress analysis of axi-symetric body with non-symetric loading and non-symetric given displacements is investigated in this paper using the finite element method. As the non-symetric load and non-symetric given displacements of axi-symetric body are generally periodic functions of angle .theta., the nodal forces and nodal displacements can be expanded in cosine and sine series, that is, Fourier series. Furthermore, using Euler's formula, the cosine and sine series can be converted into exponential series and it is prooved that the related calculus become more clear. Substituting the nodal displacements expanded in Fourier series into the strain components of cylindrical coordinates system, the element strains are expressed in series form and by the principal of virtual work, the element stiffness martix and element load vector are obtained for each order. It is also showed that if the non-symetric loads are even or odd functions of angle ${\theta}$ the stiffness matrix and load vector of the system are composed with only real numbers and relatively small capacity fo computer memory is enough for calculation.

초경절단공구의 인선결손에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Cutting Edge Chipping of Cemented Carbide Cut-off Tools)

  • This study applies dynamic deformation analysis to the rake face stress distribution of cemented carbide cut-off tools by turning, using a finite element method. The results are following: 1. The dynamic loaded state of a cut-off tool was very changeable for the first 0.6 seconds. Reaching the normal state, it became in active. 2. Chipping was influnced not only by the magnitude of stress but also by the abrupt change of tensile and compressive stresses. 3. The distribution chat of principal stress by dynamic load and the direction of resultant vector were almost constant regardless of load time.

  • This paper covers the development of prediction techniques for ice load on ice-breakers operating in continuous ice-breaking under level ice conditions using particle-based continuum mechanics. Ice is assumed to be a linear elastic material until the fracture occurs. The maximum normal stress theory is used for the criterion of fracture. The location of the crack can be expressed using a local scalar function consisting of the gradient of the first principal stress and the corresponding eigen-vector. This expression is used to determine the relative position of particle pair to the new crack. The Hertz contact model is introduced to consider the collisions between ice fragments and the collisions between hull and ice fragments. In order to verify the developed technique, the simulation results for the three-point bending problems of ice-specimen and the continuous ice-breaking problem around a wedge-type model ship with bow angle of 20° are compared with the experimental results carrying out at Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean Engineering (KRISO).

내진 강판전단벽시스템의 변형모드에 따른 스트립앵글 변화 (Strip Angle Changes in Accordance with the Deformation Mode of Seismic Steel Plate Shear Wall Systems)

  • 횡하중을 받는 고층건물에서의 인장역이 형성될 때 강판전단벽의 앵글 변화한다. 본 연구에서는 강판전단벽을 갖는 3층, 9층, 14층 및 20층의 4개 구조물에 대한 유한요소해석 연구를 하였다. 유한요소해석 결과와 각 모델들의 이론식으로 계산된 결과를 비교하여 전단변형 모드와 휨변형 모드로 분류하였다. 전단변형 모드의 모델에서는 주응력 벡터가 일정한 경사각을 이루며 인장역을 발생시킨 반면 휨변형 모델에서는 인장역의 변화는 기존의 이론식과 차이를 보였다.
