간호대학생을 대상으로 한 한국어 버전 학생 프리젠티즘 측정도구(K-PSS)의 신뢰도와 타당도 분석 (Reliability and Validity of the Korean Version of Presenteeism Scale for Students (K-PSS) in Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: This study aims to develop the Korean version of Presenteeism Scale for Students and verify its reliability and validity. Methods: This study conducted a survey with 320 undergraduate students who are attending nursing departments at three universities. The survey was conducted twice, from June 1 to August 31, 2017. Results: The Cronbach's α of K-PSS was .70 indicating high reliability. As a result of testing the content validity of K-PSS was verified by calculating the Item level-Content Validity Index (I-CVI) of .87. The correlation between Medical Outcome Study 36-item Short Form Health Survey (SF-36) score and Work Impairment Score (WIS), Work Output Score (WOS), Hours of absenteeism (HA) was analyzed to verify the concurrent validity of K-PSS. SF-36 score was correlated with WIS, WOS, HA. To test the differentiated validity of K-PSS, a total of 38 subjects were assessed by the paired t-test. As a result, only WIS score showed a significant difference between pre-test and post-test. Conclusion: Since the reliability and validity of the K-PSS developed through this study have been verified, it is expected to be used in various studies related to the presenteeism of students.

PRECEDE-PROCEED 모형 기반 비활동성작업 근로자를 위한 통합적 신체활동증진 프로그램의 개발과 효과 (Effects of an Integrated Physical Activity Program for Physically Inactive Workers - Based on the PRECEDE-PROCEED Model -)

  • Purpose: We aimed to examine the effects of an integrated physical activity (PA) program developed for physically inactive workers on the theoretical basis of the PRECEDE-PROCEED model. Methods: Participants were 268 workers in three departments of L manufacturing unit in South Korea. The three departments were randomly allocated into integration (n=86) (INT), education (n=94) (ED), and control (n=88) (CT) groups. The INT group received self-regulation, support, and policy-environmental strategies of a 12-week integrated PA program, the ED group received self-regulation strategies only, and the CT group did not receive any strategies. After 12 weeks, process evaluation was conducted by using the measures of self-regulation (autonomous vs. controlled regulation), autonomy support, and resource availability; impact evaluation by using PA measures of sitting time, PA expenditure, and compliance; and outcome evaluation by using the measures of cardiometabolic/musculoskeletal health and presenteeism. Results: Among process measures, autonomous regulation did not differ by group, but significantly decreased in the CT group (p=.006). Among impact measures, PA compliance significantly increased in the INT group compared to the CT group (p=.003). Among outcome measures, the changes in cardiometabolic/musculoskeletal health and presenteeism did not differ by group; however, systolic blood pressure (p=.012) and a presenteeism variable (p=.041) significantly decreased only in the INT group. Conclusion: The integrated PA program may have a significant effect on increases in PA compliance and significant tendencies toward improvements in a part of cardiometabolic health and presenteeism for physically inactive workers. Therefore, occupational health nurses may modify and use it as a workplace PA program.

Presenteeism and Traffic Accident Among Taxi Drivers: A Prospective Cohort Study in Japan

  • Background: Traffic accidents involving professional drivers have serious societal repercussions. Unique occupational stressors and health risks exacerbate the likelihood of traffic accidents among professional drivers. This study explores the association between presenteeism-impaired work performance due to working while unwell-and traffic accident risk among professional taxi drivers in Japan. Methods: A prospective cohort study was conducted from June 2022 to February 2023, involving taxi drivers from a single company in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. Presenteeism was assessed using the Work Functioning Impairment Scale (WFun). Primary outcome involved the number of self-reported minor traffic accidents. The incidence rate ratio (IRR) of minor traffic accident occurrences was estimated using a Poisson regression analysis, adjusted for confounders including sex, age, and driving experience. Results: Of 838 targeted drivers, 435 were included in the analysis. Higher baseline work functioning impairment was associated with a significant trend of increasing IRR of minor traffic accidents (p for trend = 0.045). A dose-response relationship was seen between the degree of presenteeism and incidence rate of minor traffic accidents. Conclusion: Higher levels of presenteeism were associated with an increased risk of traffic accidents among taxi drivers. The findings underscore the need for socio-economic support and prioritized health management to mitigate traffic accident risk among professional drivers. This study highlights the importance of managing non-critical health issues alongside serious health conditions for safer driving practices among professional drivers in Japan.

ICF를 이용한 프리젠티즘 도구에 대한 내용분석 (Content Analysis of Presenteeism Scales Using ICF)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 ICF-VR 코어셋과 가치판단 분석툴인 IPC를 이용하여 프리젠티즘 도구에 대한 내용분석을 실시하는 것이 목적이다. 이를 위해 현재 국내에서 프리젠티즘을 측정하는 자기보고식 도구인 KOSS-SF(한국인 직무스트레스 측정도구 단축형)와 PWI-SF(사회-심리적 건강측정도구 단축형)를 사용하였으며, 척도문항 분류와 문항에 포함되어 있는 코드를 분석하여 프리젠팀즘을 측정하기 위해 추가되어야 하는 직업재활 요인을 제안하였다. 2018년 12월부터 2019년 2월까지 연구가 수행되었다. 저자들은 ICF와 IPC의 연결규칙에 따라 2가지 도구들을 독립적으로 분석하였으며, 연구자 간 일치도는 90%로 나타났다. KOSS-SF는 60개, PWI-SF는 34개의 ICF-VR 코드와 연결되어 있으며, 활동과 참여, 신체기능을 측정하는 것으로 나타났다. IPC 분석틀에 따른 결과는 Rational-Social, Emotional-Psychological 영역을 측정하는 것으로 나타났다. 2가지 도구들은 ICF-VR 코어셋과 일치율이 30%이하로 나타나 직업재활 영역을 적절하게 반영하고 있지 않으며, 특히 환경영역 측정에 제한적인 것으로 나타났다. 프리젠티즘을 측정하기 위해 ICF 신체구조, 환경요인, 개인요인에 대한 문항들이 추가되어야 하며, 보다 명확한 응답수집을 위해 설문에 대한 기준점이나 가이드라인이 개발되어야 할 것이다. 이러한 연구결과를 기반으로 추후연구에 대한 제안과 논의를 제공하였다.

요양병원 간호사의 직무착근도와 소진이 프리젠티즘에 미치는 영향령 (The Effect of Job Embeddednedd and Burnout on Presenteeism among Nursing in Long-term Care Hospital)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 요양병원 간호사의 직무착근도, 소진, 프리젠티즘의 정도를 파악하고, 프리젠티즘에 미치는 요인을 파악하고자 시도하였다. 자료수집은 2018년 5월1일부터 5월31일까지 구조화된 설문지를 이용하여 보건복지부의 의료인증 평가를 통과한 병원(2018년 5월 기준) 중 기관장의 승인을 받은 대구, 부산, 광주, 대전, 수원 5개 도시에서 근무 중인 간호사 240명을 편의 추출하였고, 불충분하거나 미기재 분을 제외한 209명을 분석하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 21.0을 이용하였으며, 직무착근도는 $2.91{\pm}.47$, 소진은 $2.86{\pm}.48$, 프리젠티즘은 $2.95{\pm}.44$였다. 프리젠티즘은 소진(r= .152, p< .005)과 유의한 정적 (+)상관이 나타났고, 직무착근도는 소진(r= -.466, p<.001)과 부적(-)상관을 보였다. 프리젠티즘은 소진(${\beta}=.244$, p< .001), 직무착근도(${\beta}=.183$, p= .016), 이직경험(${\beta}=-.251$, p= .003), 밤 근무여부(${\beta}=-.187$, p= .006), 이직횟수(${\beta}=-.037$, p= .044)에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며(F=5.227, p< .001), 이들 간의 설명력은 33.0%였다. 즉 요양병원 간호사에 대한 관심과 시각의 변화를 위한 프로그램개발과 요양병원 간호사의 직무능력을 향상 시킬 수 있는 프로그램 개발이 필요하다.

항만하역 근로자의 직무 스트레스와 직무 착근도가 프리젠티즘에 미치는 영향 (The Impacts of Job Stress and Job Embeddedness on Presenteeism among Container Terminal Workers)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the impacts of job stress and job embeddedness on presenteeism among container terminal workers. Methods: The participants were 299 workers at the S Harbor in P City. Data were collected from April 22 to June 5, 2015. The data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, $Scheff{\acute{e}}^{\prime}s$ test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and logistic regression. Results: These workers on presenteeism were affected by the department of work, annual pay, and exercise of more than 30 minutes per day, revealing a statistically significant difference according to these variables. In other words, when job stress was high, job embeddedness was less, the extent of work impairment was higher, and in turn perceived productivity was lower. Work impairment was 3.11 times higher in workers with above-average job stress than those with lower job stress. Perceived productivity was 2.31 times higher in workers with above-average job embeddedness than those with lower job embeddedness. Conclusion: To reduce work impairment and increase productivity among container terminal workers, it is necessary to decrease their job stress, to increase their job embeddedness, and especially to do exercise for more than 30 minutes a day.

요양병원과 종합병원 간호사의 프리젠티즘의 융합적 비교연구 (Convergence Comparative Study of Presenteeism by Long-term Care Hospital Nurses Versus General Hospital Nurses)

  • 본 연구는 요양병원과 종합병원 간호사의 프리젠티즘을 비교 파악하기 위한 서술적 조사연구이다. 2019년 10월1일부터 12월 30일까지 D시, G도 소재 요양병원 3곳과 종합병원 2곳에서 현 근무경력 6개월 이상인 요양병원 간호사 74명, 종합병원 간호사 75명을 대상으로 총 149명을 대상으로 진행되었다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 21.0을 이용하여 실수, 백분율, 평균과 표준편차를 시행하였다. 요양병원 간호사는 종합병원 간호사보다 건강문제, 직무손실과 지각된 노동력을 더 높게 지각하고 있는 것으로 나타나고 있었다. 이는 요양병원과 종합병원 간호사의 환자분류에 따른 업무강도의 차이가 없음을 보여주는 것으로 요양병원 간호서비스 질 향상을 위해서는 요양병원 간호사의 프리젠티즘에 관한 조직적인 측면의 관리가 필요함을 나타내는 것이다.

임상간호사의 조직몰입과 회복탄력성이 프리젠티즘에 미치는 영향요인 (The Influence of Organizational Commitment and Resilience on Presenteeism among Clinical Nurses)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the factors influencing organizational commitment and resilience onpresenteeism in clinical nurses. Methods: The subjects were 202 nurses working at 5 hospitals in B city. The data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed by t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: Work impairment was negatively correlated with organizational commitment and resilience. Perceived productivity was positively correlated with organizational commitment and resilience. Influencing factors on work impairment were organizational commitment (β=-.22 p=.005) and hardiness (β=-.16, p=.042), with 10% explanatory power. Influencing factors on perceived productivity were organizational commitment (β=.24, p=.002) and hardiness (β=.16, p=.042), with 11% explanatory power. Conclusion: Based on this research, appropriate programs and policies that consider influencing factors such as organizational commitment and hardiness in resilience are needed to reduce the level of presenteeism in clinical nurses.

소화기 내시경실 간호사의 근골격계질환 증상, 근골격계부담작업이 프리젠티즘에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Musculoskeletal Symptom and Burden Work on Presenteeism among Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Unit Nurses)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to identify the effects of musculoskeletal symptoms and burden on presenteeism among nurses in a gastrointestinal endoscopy unit. Methods: This was an observational cross-sectional study. Data were collected through self-reported questionnaires administered to 140 nurses working in the gastrointestinal endoscopy unit of a hospital located in Busan metropolitan city. Results: The body part with the most musculoskeletal symptoms was the back (73.2%), and the most common musculoskeletal burden work was "when you have to stand or maintain the same posture for a long time in a lead apron protection clothes." The factors most related to work impairment were working hours, musculoskeletal symptoms, and musculoskeletal burden, with an explanatory power of 63.3%. Factors affecting perceived productivity were working hours and musculoskeletal symptoms, with an explanatory power of 29.2 %. Conclusion: To reduce work impairment and increase the perceived productivity of nurses in gastrointestinal endoscopy units, various programs and improved working environments are needed that can improve musculoskeletal symptoms and reduce musculoskeletal burden.

간호사의 건강문제와 업무에 대한 부담감이 프리젠티즘에 미치는 영향 (The influence of the burden of nurse's work and health problems on presenteeism)

  • 본 연구는 간호사의 건강문제와 업무에 대한 부담감이 프리젠티즘에 미치는 영향을 파악하고자 시행되었다. 연구대상은 K도와 D광역시 4개의 종합병원에 근무하는 간호사로 편의추출 방식으로 수집하였다. 연구결과 간호사의 건강문제는 목 어깨 등 허리통증이 가장 많이 나타났 고, 간호사는 평균 3.62개의 건강문제를 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 간호사의 프리젠티즘은 100점 만점에 평균 $43.37{\pm}12.43$점으로 나타났다. 건강문제의 개수와 업무에 대한 부담감과 프리젠티즘은 유의한 정적인 상관관계가 나타났다. 건강문제의 개수와 업무에 대한 부담감은 현 병동에서의 근무기간, 직급, 의료 기관 규모, 성별 등의 인구사회 학적 요인을 통제한 상태에서 간호사의 프리젠티즘에 유의한 영향을 주는 것으로 확인되었다. 이는 업무에 대한 부담감을 낮출수록, 건강문제를 잘 관리 할수록 간호사의 프리젠티즘을 낮 출 수 있다는 결과이다. 따라서 향후 간호사의 개인수준, 조직수준, 사회수준에서 업무에 대한 부담감을 낮출 수 있는 방안이 필요하며, 이를 통해 프리젠티즘을 최소화하여 생산성을 높일 수 있어야 하겠다.
