  • Objective : This study examined the characteristics of the literature involving a single-subject research design among positive behavior support intervention studies to improve problem behavior in children with autism spectrum disorders and assess the quality level. Methods : This is a literature study, and the targets of analysis were nine single-subject research papers published between 2011 and 2020. The subject papers were analyzed by dividing them into general characteristics and the qualitative levels according to the content of the research method. Results : Analysis of analyzing the contents of the study showed that the subjects were preschool and elementary school-age children at the same ratio. Furthermore, the study design involved mostly the middle and multiple baseline designs among the behaviors. All papers presented social validity, intervention fidelity, and observer reliability. Problem behaviors included self-injury and aggression behaviors, disturbing behaviors, and seat break-away behaviors, while the most dependent variables were measured through partial interval recording. As a result of confirming the intervention effect, the effect was confirmed in intervention, maintenance, and generalization. All analysis studies showed high-quality levels. Conclusion : This study confirmed the content and qualitative level of the thesis that applied the single-subject research design among positive behavior support intervention studies for problem behaviors of children with autism spectrum disorders. Positive behavior support intervention, an evidence-based intervention for children with autism spectrum disorders, was confirmed an effective intervention for autism spectrum disorders.

  • This study verified the effect of learning motivation on immersion by non-face-to-face class method. For this purpose, 101 college students majoring in early childhood education were selected as research subjects. The average age of the study subjects was 22.6 years old, and 51 students took non-real-time non-face-to-face classes, and 50 students took real-time non-face-to-face classes. The study measured the level of immersion and the type of learning motivation after the non-face-to-face class was finished. The measured data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis and multiple regression analysis. As a result, in the results for all students, the performance approach goal had the most influence on immersion, and the mastery goal orientation had the next effect. Performance avoidance orientation had no effect. For students in non-face-to-face classes, performance approach goal orientation had an effect on immersion, and for students in real-time non-face-to-face classes, mastery goal orientation had an effect. The implications that can be obtained from the results of this study are as follows. First, non-real-time non-face-to-face classes should cover basic knowledge and skills so that there are no mistakes and failures. Second, non-real-time non-face-to-face classes should allow tasks with appropriate difficulty to be performed with a deadline. Third, real-time non-face-to-face classes should lower the fear of mistakes and failures.

  • European integration processes have acted as a catalyst for the emergence of a new type of educational environment, which is characterized by competent flexibility of specialists. Therefore, the article focuses on professional training of teachers in the context of European integration processes using information technology and the search for innovative methods of training specialists. One of the educational priorities in Europe is to create a new model of a teacher who has an academic education, knows innovative methods, is able to perform functions and tasks efficiently and professionally, adequately, quickly and correctly respond to changes and innovations. The tasks facing education in the European dimension are formulated. The main trends in the education of teachers in modern Europe are described: the need to deepen and expand subject training programs in pedagogical institutions of Higher Education, which will allow autonomy of activity, awareness of responsibility for independent creative decisions, create favorable conditions for the development of professionalism through the use of Information Technology and the search for innovative methods of training specialists. At the present stage, various models of teacher training are being developed based on the University and practical concept using information technology and searching for innovative methods of training specialists. On this basis, two different theories of perception of teacher education were formed: as preparation of teachers for work throughout their professional career; as preparation for the first years of professional work, which is periodically repeated in the process of continuous professional training and improvement. Among the advantages that the use of Information Technology and the search for innovative methods of training specialists to implement the learning process, it is worth mentioning the following: simultaneous use of several channels of perception of the student or student in the learning process, thanks to which the integration of information processed by different sensory organs is achieved; the ability to simulate complex real experiments; visualization of abstract information by dynamic representation of processes, etc.

  • Recently, English education of educational institutions is gradually invigorated as the importance of English education for preschooler is increasing. Role-play, in particular, is known as an effective way to learn English for children because it promotes children's interest in language and naturally encounters English-speaking culture. Therefore, in this paper, we tried to find out how to effectively use UCC in role-playing for English education for preschoolers. First of all, questionnaires for pre and post-test were conducted for preschoolers. The results are analyzed by SPSS to find out children's understanding of UCC, interest in English, interest in role-playing, and interest in acting. As a result of the analysis, most children knew UCC well and showed strong interest in watching and producing UCC. Also, the more interested in English and role-playing, the more they wanted to show more advanced English and acting through the feedback of the contents they produced. Therefore, even in preschool children's English education, the development of language and acting can be shown by producing UCC through role-playing under the teacher's control and receiving feedback on it. The results of this study are expected to be effectively used when planning English education through role-playing in daycare centers or kindergartens.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop and standardize the Korean version of the Parent Mealtime Action Scale(K-PMAS). The parents of typically developing preschool and elementary school children (N=887) ranging in age from 1 to 11 years as well as parents of children with developmental disorders (N=116) completed the PMAS. A subset of the participants were retested for reliability and also completed the Children's Eating Behavior Inventory- Korean Version (K-CEBI), which was used for assessing validity. The confirmatory factor analysis revealed that the theoretically-based 8-factor structure of PMAS fit the data well. The PMAS scores suggested acceptable levels of internal consistency and test-retest reliability. Validity was also supported by significant correlations between the K-CEBI scores and the differences in K-PMAS scores between the parents of children with developmental disorders and those of typically developing children. The results of one-way ANOVA showed no significant differences in K-PMAS scores between the genders. However, there were significant differences across ages. The means and standard deviations of the PMAS scale scores are provided. Clinical and research implications as well as limitations are discussed.
