3차원 수치해석모델을 이용한 주방식 지하공간의 안정성 평가 (Stability evaluation of room-and-pillar underground method by 3D numerical analysis model)

  • 본 연구에서는 수치해석을 이용해 주방식 지하공간의 안정성을 검토하고 고찰하였다. 수치해석을 수행하기에 앞서 현장지반조사를 수행하고 지반조사결과를 이용하여 지보패턴을 선정하였다. 지보패턴은 암반 등급 별 Type-1, 2, 3을 선정하였으며 주방식 지하공간은 암주와 지하공간으로 구성된 형상으로 구성되어 효과적인 모사를 위해 3차원 수치해석모델을 개발하였다. 지보패턴 안정성 검토결과, 모든 지보패턴에서 천단변위, 내공변위, 지보재 응력 모두 안정한 것으로 확인되었다. 시공단계에 의한 해석결과, 암주가 형성되는 시공단계에서 지하공간에 과도한 응력이 발생하는 경향이 확인되었다. 이를 통해, 실제 시공 시 암주 형성 시공단계에서 정밀한 시공이 요구될 것으로 판단된다.

  • Power system restoration following a massive blackout starts with re-energizing primary transmission lines at first. Some factors such as Ferranti effect, and line charging reactive power should be considered in this stage. Severe overvoltage may be induced by the Ferranti effect at the lines since it would be usually no load condition. And lack of capacitive reactive power will cause the self-excitation. This paper presents a new precise algorithm to analyze the primary restorative transmission system focused on the two major static overvoltage problems during the early restoration process.

헬리컬 기어의 정밀 냉간 단조에 대한 연구 (Study on Precision Cold Forging of helical Gear)

  • In metal forming, there are problems with recurrent geometric characteristics without explicitly prescibed boundary conditions. In such problems, so-called recurrent boundary conditions must be introduced. In this paper, as a practical application of the proposed method, the precision cold forging of a helical gear has been simulated by a three-dimensional rigid-plastic finite element method and compared with the experiment. The application of recurrent boundary conditions to helical gear forging analysis is proved to be effective and valid. the elastic stress analysis of the die for helical gear forging has been calculated by using the nodal force at the final stage obtained from the rigid-plastic finite element analysis. In order to obtain more precise gear products, the elastic analysis of the die after release of punch and the elastic spring-back analysis of product after ejection have been performed, and the final dimension of the computational product has been in good agreement with that of the experimental product.

  • General purpose of cylindrical capacitive displacement sensor(CCS) is measuring run-out motion and deflection of rotor. If CCS has narrow sensing range, its sensitivity coefficients must be calibrated precisely. And x, y component of CCS output can be coupled. In this research, CCS calibration procedure is automated with automatic calibration program and PC-controlled stage. And, coupled-terms of CCS signals were removed and the errors between measured position and mapped CCS signal were reduced obviously by sensitivity matrix that linearly.

그림자 계산을 이용한 운전자의 시계성 해석 (Analysis of Driver's Field of View using a Shadow Algorithm)

  • To ensure drive's field of view, obstruction area generated by a steering wheel, hub and spoke must be considered at the early stage of automobile design. The current approach to computing obstruction area proposed by SAE is based on 2D drafting procedures so that it is not precise and errorprone. In the paper we discuss the novel approach which models the obstruction area as the shadows of the steering wheel, hub and spoke by assuming the human eye as light sources. The approach is based on ray tracing and space transformations for that it can be applied when free form curves are hired to represent the steering wheel, hub and spoke in CAD environment. As a result, it gives more predise and reliable results than SAE approach.

Toxicoinformatics: The Master Key for Toxicogenomics

  • The current vision of toxicogenomics is the development of methods or platforms to predict toxicity of un characterized chemicals by using '-omics' information in pre-clinical stage. Because each chemical has different ADME (absorption, distribution, mechanism, excretion) and experimental animals have lots of variation, precise prediction of chemical's toxicity based on '-omics' information and toxicity data of known chemicals is very difficult problem. So, the importance of bioinformatics is more emphasized on toxicogenomics than other functional genomics studies because these problems can not be solved only with experiments. Thus, toxicoinformatics covers all information-based analytical methods from gene expression (bioinformatics) to chemical structures (cheminformatics) and it also deals with the integration of wide range of experimental data for further extensive analyses. In this review, the overall strategy to toxicoinformatics is discussed.

미세 초음파 타원궤적 진동절삭 (II) 타원진동 절삭운동을 이용한 미세 홈 초음파 가공 (Micro Ultrasonic Elliptical Vibration Cutting (II) Ultrasonic Micro V-grooving Using Elliptical Vibration Cutting)

  • For precise micro V-grooving, ultrasonic elliptical vibration cutting (UEVC) is proposed using two parallel piezoelectric actuators, which are energized by sinusoidal voltages with a phase difference of 90 degrees. Experimental setup is composed of stacked PZT actuators, a single crystal diamond cutting tool, and a precision motorized xyz stage. It is found that the chip formed in the process of UEVC is discontinuous because of the periodic contacts and non-contacts occurring between the tool and workpiece. It is experimentally observed that the cutting force in the process of UEVC significantly reduces compared to the ordinary non-vibration cutting. In addition, the creation of burr during UEVC is significantly suppressed, which is attributable to the decrease in the specific cutting energy.

  • The stamping process consists of two stages : First, the blank is held by the blank holder and then it is further formed into the die cavity by punch stroke. In actual stamping process, the accurate prediction of binder wrap is an indispensable step in sheet metal forming analysis because the initial plastic buckling induced by improper die design is directly related with fatal defect at the final stage. In the present work, an approach including the gravity effect of blank material and proper consideration of contact and friction is proposed. Computations are carried out for some actual auto-body parts using 3D FEM code to investigate the validity of the proposed methodology. Comparisons with experimental results show that the suggested scheme can be effectively applied to the precise prediction of binder wrap for arbitrarily curved die faces in which gravity and contact effect must be taken into account.

헬릭스각이 버형성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the Helix Angle on the Burr Formation)

  • Even in a fully automated factory, many deburring operations are carried out manually . To remove or minimize the burreffectively or automatically, understanding of the burr formation which occur at the exit stage of machining is necessary. Burrs can be formed on the feed mark ridges an the edges of the machined parts in machining operations. These burrs are underirable in terms of the surface quality, the precise dimensioning of the machined parts and the safety of operators. This paper demonstrates the effectiveness of using end mill tool on minimizing the exit burr formation in machining . In particular, the experimental relationships between the size of exit burr and the cutting parameters are established in end mill machining . Methods to control the size of exit burr are then explained.

  • Recent trend in machine tools is pursuing the high precision and high speed facility and its architecture is being more complicated. With this tendency, it is required the more precise dynamic analysis of electro-mechanical system in machine tools. In this paper, the exact mathematical model of feed and spindle system of a typical machine tools was induced. The feed system is modeled as 7-mass system including the workpiece and the spindle system as 4-mass system. The simulation results show that the induced model depicts the characteristics of real system very well. The effects of each mechanical element to dynamic motion of a machine are analyzed by simulation with the induced model. It ia anticipated that the induced model can be used in the analysis of various machine architectures and in the design stage of new machine tools.
