Many agile practices have been suggested for software development flexible enough to adapt to a rapidly changing environment. However, too many agile practices hinder computer engineers from deciding which agile practices are suitable for a given project. They need guidelines of the benefits an agile practice provides for a project, and how many of its benefits are effective. Therefore, this study investigates IT experts' perspectives on each agile practice's effectiveness in their projects using a repertory grid technique. Based on an analysis of data collected from 23 Korean IT experts about 33 agile projects, we elicit 361 cognitive effects categorized into 30 benefits using content analysis. Next, we identify agile practices that are primarily used and recognized as positive and further examine what benefits many agile practices usually bring. Finally, we evaluate the level of benefits overall that each agile practice provides.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors affecting credit card attitudes, financial management practices, and sound credit card use among college students, and to conceptualize a theoretical model. Earlier studies identified a number of antecedent variables (such as gender, year in college, job experience, amount of allowance, family income, living with parents, having taken a personal financial management course) and intervening variables (such as attitudes towards credit cards and financial management practices) as useful predictors of sound credit card practices. Four hundred and thirty four undergraduate students in Daejeon participated in this study. Stepwise multiple regression and path analysis were conducted. The results of this study were as follows: 1. Students' attitudes towards credit cards were affected by their you in college, whether they were living with their parents, and the amount of their allowance. Similarly, students' financial management practices were affected by their year in college, whether they were living with their parents, the amount of their allowance, and whether and not they had taken a personal financial management course. 2. Sound credit card practices were influenced by students' gender, their year in college, the amount of their allowance, attitudes towards credit cards, and financial management practices. 3. The path-analysis model demonstrates the relationships among the antecedent variables, intervening variables (credit card attitude, financial management practices), and sound credit card use.
The purpose of this study was to examine teachers' practices of Eco Early Childhood Education (EECE) according to the characteristics and perceptions of daycare teachers, and the impacts of teachers' characteristics and perceptions on their EECE practices. The subjects in this study were 110 teachers who were worked at daycare centers in the Gyeongnam area of Korea. The teachers completed questionnaires concerning their perceptions and practices within the EECE. The collected data were analyzed by t-tests, one-way ANOVA, correlation coefficients, and regression. The results of this study were as follows: 1) The daycare teachers differed in their degree of EECE practices depending on their characteristics. 2) The daycare teachers were significantly different in their practices of EECE according to their perceptions. 3) The teachers' characteristics and perceptions of ECCE explained their practices of EECE. Particularly, teacher educational levels and the perceptions of ECCE by teachers were positively associated with their practices.
Recently China has become one of the major markets for luxury brands. In addition, practicing social responsibility by manufacturers of luxury brands has become ubiquitous because consumers' perception of such practices may affect their purchase decisions positively. This study explored Chinese shoppers' perception of luxury brands' social responsibility practices and their information seeking behavior. In this study, value congruence was used as a theoretical framework. Twelve participants were selected out of customers in a shopping mall in Beijing, and they were subject to in-depth interview. The interview consisted of open-ended questions about perception of luxury brands' social responsibility practices, sources to access such practices, and the degree of personal value congruence to such practices as well as demographic information. Qualitative approach was used to analyze the data. Half of the participants indicated their awareness of the social responsibility practices of luxury brands, which sets up a foundation for understanding importance of luxury brands' social responsibility practices. Approximately half of the participants preferred to learn about luxury brands' socially responsible practices online especially via social media. These findings imply that Chinese luxury shoppers' trust and preference for the companies would be enhanced by effective development and advertisement of companies' social responsibility practices, and thus provide luxury companies with useful information on marketing strategies.

The study aims to provide some evidence of the effects of CSR practices on financial-based brand equity in Malaysia. Nowadays, many companies have embraced corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices because CSR is a vital component of the current competitive and complex business arena. It contributes greatly to social, environmental, and economic condition. With CSR practices, companies are able to achieve many benefits and there is evidence that CSR practices predict higher brand equity. However, little evidence has been produced concerning the effects of CSR practices on financial aspects of brand equity in developing countries such as Malaysia. Therefore, this paper aims to investigate the effects of CSR practices on financial based brand equity among Malaysia Top 100 brand. A CSR checklist instrument was used in the current study to examine the extent of CSR practiced. The results indicated that PLCs that were actively involved in CSR practices such as environmental, community, workplace and marketplace, found that this involvement enhanced their brand equity. The findings provide useful support and evidence for the management of PLCs in Malaysia, as well as companies in other developing countries, to engage more in CSR practices as a core element of their strategic and brand management.
The purpose of this study was to explore to what extent mothers and fathers differ in their disciplinary practices and to examine the relationships between quality of life and the parental disciplinary practices. The subjects of this study consisted of 220 parents(220 mothers and 220 fathers) of 5-6 years of children in Pusan. Descriptive analysis, correlation analysis, t-tests were used for data description and analysis. The major results were as follows: 1. There was a positive relationship between perceived quality of life by fathers and perceived quality of life by mothers. 2. There was a difference between fathers and mothers in relation to perceived quality of life. Fathers perceived their quality of life more highly than did mothers. 3. There were positive relations between parental educational level, household income and quality of life. 4. There were differences between fathers and mothers in relation to disciplinary practices. Fathers exhibited more effective disciplinary practices(including less overreactiveness and less verbosity) than did mothers. 5. There were no relations between parental educational level and disciplinary practices, but household income was only related to maternal disciplinary practices. 6. There were positive relations between quality of life and disciplinary practices. The higher parents perceived their quality of life, the more parents exhibited effective parental disciplinary practices.

Nursing students who are in clinical practices under the complicated medical environment to become competent practitioners can be exposed to a variety of dangerous situations. In particular, nursing students can experience stress and compromised safety because they have difficulty in prioritizing their tasks and lack confidence in clinical and interpersonal skills. The purpose of this study is to investigate the types and characteristics of nursing students' attitudes toward the safety of clinical practices, and improve their safety related to clinical practices. A total of 40 statements about the safety of clinical practices were applied to 37 nursing students. Collected data were analyzed with the PC QUANL program. The Perception of nursing students to the safety of clinical practices was categorized into three types: 'Pursuit of perfection in overwhelming state type', 'Perseverance Patience type' and 'Cover up-meeting expectation type'. The subjects related to the safety of clinical practices need to be developed within the curriculum of nursing departments by examining the Perception of nursing students to the safety of clinical practices. In addition, a sense of responsibility shared by nursing students, educators and practitioners needs to be enhanced to improve the safety of clinical practices.

US transportation agencies are dealing with shrinking budgets, limited work forces, and deteriorating infrastructure. In order to cope with funding uncertainty, state highway agencies are now looking into their own organizations and identifying programs, practices, and processes that have potential for cost saving. A quality assurance (QA) program is an integral part of highway construction and ensures a project's contracted level of quality. The cost of quality (conforming and nonconforming) can constitute a sizable part of total construction cost. As the quality assurance programs evolved, various practices and processes were developed over time and later adopted by state highway agencies. These practices and processes include different QA standards and specifications, varying testing methods, central testing lab vs. on site testing, performance based vs. prescribed quality assurance practices, implementation of innovative quality assurance practices, etc. Therefore, there is an opportunity to assess different QA strategies and recommend those practices that are effective and cost efficient. A national survey was conducted by the authors, which provided a detailed mapping of various QA practices and processes used as part of QA programs and identified areas where agencies can focus on for cost savings. The survey found that QA sampling and testing plans, optimization of sampling plans, optimization of QA standards and specifications, and implementation of innovative test methods and processes are the main areas the agencies should focus to lean the current QA programs.
The purpose of this study is to understand the learning mathematics in elementary mathematics classroom by considering mathematics as a kind of social practices and mathematics classroom as a kind of community of practice. The research questions of this study are as followings: 1) Do the identities which teacher has on mathematics and teaching mathematics, influence the social practices formed in mathematics classroom, and the identities which students has on mathematics and learning mathematics? 2) Do the social practices formed in mathematics classroom, and the identities which students has on mathematics and learning mathematics, influence the identities which teacher has on mathematics and teaching mathematics? This study was based on ethnomethodology. It was executed participation observations, interviews and surveys with teacher and 5 graders to collect the data for the social practices formed their classroom and their identities, and was analyzed the interaction between the social practices of mathematics classroom and teacher and students' identities. We found the scenes that teacher's identities influenced the social practices of mathematics classroom and students' identities, and also the scenes that the social practices of mathematics classroom and students' identities influenced teacher's identities. So, we could know that there existed the interaction between the social practices of mathematics classroom and teacher and students' identities.

The main purposes of this study are (1) to investigate the extent and level of corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices of the hotel in Thailand, (2) to test the different level of CSR practices of the hotel between CSR-in-process and CSR-after-process, and (3) to examine the effect of CSR practices on hotel's performance measured by balanced scorecard (BSC). This study employs survey data collected from 402 owners and executives of hotels in Thailand. Descriptive analysis, paired sample t-test, correlation matrix, and multiple regression were used to analyze the data from the mailed questionnaire. The results show that both CSR-in-process and CSR-after-process practices of hotels were at a high level. However, the level of CSR-in-process practice of hotels was significantly higher than CSR-after-process practice. Moreover, the study found the positive effect of both CSR-in-process and CSR-after-process practices on hotel performance measured by BSC. The results of sensitivity analysis also show the positive effect of CSR-in-process and CSR-after-process practices on each of all six perspectives of BSC. The findings of this study can point to the reasonable reason why hotels should implement CSR practices into their business strategies. In addition, the study demonstrates that stakeholder theory can explain the effect of CSR practices on corporate performance.
