  • The study about three-phase synthetic making test using DC power has been performed in order to increase the making test capacity on Vacuum Circuit Breaker. And, it made possible to solve the limitations that short-circuit testing facilities can not fulfill the testing requirements of VCB exceeding three-phase 36[kV] 31.5[kA]. By using DC power and high speed spark-gap switch, this method made the equivalence with the pre-arc that occurred during the making process under the fault condition of power system. As results, KERI(Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute) could have capacity to carry out type test for VCB under three-phase 52[kV] 40[kV], which satisfies the IEC Standard.

  • Purpose: In the literature power analysis in experimental studies is often executed and reported falsely. This descriptive study was done to promote the correct application of the Cohen(1988)'s power analysis method. Method: Articles of experimental studies from a nursing journal were selected and reviewed to examine the uses of and the reports on the power analysis process. Also, the appropriate power analysis process was discussed with an example of the most common experimental design, an independent two-group design with t test analysis plan. Result: Around half the experimental studies examined reported that they carried out power analysis. Cohen's method was the most frequently utilized but with accuracy in question. Conclusion: Power analysis to estimate sample size is the interplay between alpha, power, and effect size, and other factors in the case of t test analysis. Researchers should have a clear understanding of how to apply the Cohen's power analysis method so they do not produce poorly estimated sample sizes.

  • The purpose of this paper was to make an analysis of anaerobic power in professional female basketball players using the Wingate Test Method with bicycle ergometer. Twenty-three subjects(age $21.6\pm2.8years$, body height $178.0\pm7.4cm$, body weight $70.3\pm7.4kg$) were selected from professional female basketball team whose careers were over 10years and participated in this investigation. Each subject peformed a Wingate anaerobic power test to determine total work, peak power, mean power, fatigue index and blood lactate concentration. The following were obtained from result data analysis; 1. The Total Work of athletes was a $1128.7\pm120.6watt$ 2. The Peak Power of athletes was a $449.5\pm53.1watt$ 3. The Mean Power of athletes was a $369.1\pm39.4watt$ 4. The Fatigue Index of athletes was a $33.5\pm6.9\%$ 5. The blood lactate concentration was $1.85\pm0.85mM/L$ at the normal state and $3.16\pm1.53mM/L$ at the after Wingate test. The blood lactate concentration was $6.96\pm0.81mM/L$ after 3 minute and $6.95\pm1.05mM/L$ after 5 minutes.

  • For split plot designs exact univariate F tests of the within-subjects main effect are based on the assumption of multisample sphericity. Type I error rates and power are reported for the F test and two tests designed for use when multisample sphericity is violated: the $\widetilde{\xi}$-adjusted test and the Corrected Improved General Approximation(CIGA) test. The results indicate that even though the F test and the $\widetilde{\xi}$-adjusted test have better power than the CIGA test in some conditions, the F test and the $\widetilde{\xi}$-adjusted test do not control Type I error rates when the design is unbalanced and the F test dose not have a good control of Type I error rates when sphericity assumption is severely violated.

  • A new scan partition architecture to reduce both the average and peak power dissipation during scan testing is proposed for low-power embedded systems. In scan-based testing, due to the extremely high switching activity during the scan shift operation, the power consumption increases considerably. In addition, the reduced correlation between consecutive test patterns may increase the power consumed during the capture cycle. In the proposed architecture, only a subset of scan cells is loaded with test stimulus and captured with test responses by freezing the remaining scan cells according to the spectrum of unspecified bits in the test cubes. To optimize the proposed process, a novel graph-based heuristic to partition the scan chain into several segments and a technique to increase the number of don't cares in the given test set have been developed. Experimental results on large ISCAS89 benchmark circuits show that the proposed technique, compared to the traditional full scan scheme, can reduce both the average switching activities and the average peak switching activities by 92.37% and 41.21%, respectively.

  • In the case of nuclear power plants near end of their design life, a reassessment of the performance of safetyrelated equipment may be necessary to determine whether to shut down or extend the operation of the power plant. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the level of performance decline due to degradation. Electrical cabinets, including MCC and switchgear, are representative safety-related equipment. Several studies have assessed the degradation and seismic performance of nuclear power plant equipment. Most of those researches are limited to individual components due to the size of safety-related equipment and test equipment. However, only a few studies assessed the degradation performance of electrical cabinets. The equipment of various nuclear power plants is anchored to concrete foundations, and crack in concrete foundations is one of the most representative of degradation that could be visually confirmed. However, it is difficult to find a study for analysis through testing the effect of cracks in concrete foundations on the response of electrical cabinet internal equipment fixed by anchors. In this study, using a simple cabinet model considering cast-in-place anchor in uncracked and cracked concretes, a tri-axial shaking table tests were performed and the seismic behavior were observed.

  • This study analyzed a life test method for a power take-off (PTO) gearbox. An engine transfers mechanical power (rotation and torque) to a hydraulic pump through a PTO Gearbox with one input shaft and three output shafts. PTO gear box durability under high loads over long time periods was tested using dynamometers. In order to reflect the rated operating conditions, power must be distributed to each output shaft, and experiments were conducted under various conditions to verify the characteristics of the distributed power. An accelerated life test was designed using speed and torque as acceleration factors. Also, efficiency tests were conducted under various load conditions. Also, a lubrication oil composition analysis was performed to analyze gearbox wear status.

  • Auxiliary power supply developed by domestic technology has very important function that not only effect on main power converter & inverter system, traction motor and train control system which are related to performance of train, but also influence on power supply for HVAC(Heat, Ventilation, Air-conditioning) and lighting device which are related to comfort of passengers. This paper shows characteristic test results of auxiliary power supply such as working condition and performance, which is associated with velocity of train, operating mode and surrounding equipment, through test running. Also it shows the results deduced from comparison analysis between designed data and manufactory test data as measuring in put voltage of auxiliary power supply. And, it propose a modification of design parameter for stabilizing operation and improving reliability.

  • An electrical generator in power plant is driven and maintained its speed at rated by steam turbine. By the way, after synchronization in parallel with the power system, as the steam flow into turbine can not be reduced fast even though the electrical load is lost, the turbine gets into dangerous situation due to the increase of its speed. At this time, the duty of the turbine governor is to limit the speed to its overspeed trip set point by stopping the steam flow as soon as possible, the test of which is called load rejection test. It is introduced in this paper for a field simulation test of generator load rejection to be implemented on the turbine governor in a 680MW nuclear power plant before its startup.

  • The Jarque and Bera (1980) statistic is one of the well known statistics to test univariate normality. It is based on the sample skewness and kurtosis which are the sample standardized third and fourth moments. Desgagné and de Micheaux (2018) proposed an alternative form of the Jarque-Bera statistic based on the sample second power skewness and kurtosis. In this paper, we generalize the statistic to a multivariate version by considering some data driven directions. They are directions given by the normalized standardized scaled residuals. The statistic is a modified multivariate version of Kim (2021), where the statistic is generalized using an empirical standardization of the scaled residuals of data. A simulation study reveals that the proposed statistic shows better power when the dimension of data is big.
