항생제 대체제로서 Clostridium butyricum IDCC 9207 백미 발효물의 항균작용과 장관 면역증진효과 (White Rice Fermented by Clostridium butyricum IDCC 9207 as an Alternative to Antibiotic having Antibacterial and Immunostimulatory Activity)

  • 이 연구는 천연소재 probiotics 발효물을 대상으로 가축의 장내 유해세균으로 알려진 S. typhimurium KCTC 2054와 E. coli O157:H7의 생장을 억제시키는 유효 발효물을 선발하여 특성을 연구하는 데 있다. 실험 샘플 444개 중 유해 세균에 대한 항균력이 가장 우수한 것으로 C. butyricum IDCC 9207 백미 발효물(FWR)을 최종 선발하였다. C. butyricum IDCC 9207이 함유된 백미 발효물 (FWRCb9207)을 S. typhimurium KCTC 2054로 감염시킨 ICR-mice에 일정기간 투여하였을 때, salmonella의 생육이 억제됨을 확인하였으며, 장관에서 분비되는 secretory immunoglobulin A (sIgA)의 양이 증가됨을 확인하였다. FWRCb9207은 기존의 생균제 보다 빠른 정장효과를 나타낼 수 있으며, 발효물보다 생균보강을 통해 정장작용의 기간을 늘릴 수 있는 것이 장점이다. 또한 FWRCb9207의 급여를 통해 사료로부터 쉽게 감염되는 S. typhimurium, S. gallinarum, S. pullorum, S. choleraesuis ssp. choleraesuis 등의 유해세균 증식을 효과적으로 억제시키고 면역력을 증진시킴으로써 가축의 증체율을 높였다. 이러한 FWRCb9207의 synbiotic effects는 궁극적으로 기존 항생제를 대체함으로써 항생제 오남용으로 발생되는 문제점을 해소할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Salmonella Gallinarum 감염닭의 대식세포에서 표고버섯 균사체 발효 미강생물전환소재에 의한 면역조절효과 (Immunomodulation by Bioprocessed Polysaccharides from Lentinus edodes Mycelia Cultures with Rice Bran in the Salmonella Gallinarum-infected Chicken Macrophages)

  • 본 연구에서는, 표고버섯 균사체 발효 생물전환공법으로 생산된 미강생물전환소재(BPP-RB)가 가금티푸스의 주요 원인균인 S. Gallinarum에 감염된 닭 유래 대식세포주 HD-11에 미치는 효과를 조사하였다. 그 결과, 미강생물전환소재 추출액은 S. Gallinarum 277에 대한 직접적인 성장억제 효과를 보여주지 않았으며, 총단백질 및 분비단밸질 발현 양상에 어떠한 변화도 유도하지 못하였다. 하지만, 미강생물전환소재 추출액은 (i) HD-11 대식세포의 탐식 능력(phagocytic activity)을 활성화하였고, (ii) Th1-type cytokines(tumor necrosis factor-${\alpha}$, interleukin $(IL)-1{\beta}$, iNOS)과 immunosuppressive cytokine IL-10의 발현 증가를 유도하였으며, (iii) Th2-type cytokines (IL-4, IL-6)의 발현은 감소시키는 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 결과를 종합하면, 미강생물전환소재는 가금 농장에서 가금티푸스 및 다른 Salmonella종의 감염을 예방하기 위한 사료첨가제로서의 가능성을 가지고 있다고 사료된다.

조피볼락(Sebastes schligeli)에 있어 사료내 단백질 사료원으로서의 어분대체품 (Fish Meal Analog as a Dietary Protein Source in Koran Rockfish, Sebastes schlegeli)

  • 본 연구는 조피볼락 사료에 있어서 어분대체품을 결정하고, 상품어분대체품과 유인물질의 첨가 효과를 통하여 조피볼락용 어분대체품개발을 위한 기초자료도 사용하고자 수행되었다. 실험사료는 조단백질 52%로, 가용성 에너지 16.8 KJ/g으로 설계되었고, 주단백질원으로 북양어분, 어분대체품 및 상품어분대체품을 사용하였다. 사료의 성분조성은 다음과 같이 요약된다 : 사료1, 100%FM (control) ; 사료2, 60%FM : 40% CFMA ; 사료3, 60%FM : 40% CFMA+ATT ; 사료 4, 80%FM : 20% FMA ; 사료5, 80% FM: 20%FMA+ATT : 사료 6, ; 사료6, 60%FM : 40%FMA+ATT; 사료7, 40%FM : 60% FMA+ATT. 어분대체품은 혈분(BM), 오징어간분(SLP), 육골분(MBM), 수지박(LM), 가금부산물(PBP), 우모분(FM), 필수아미노산(Met, Lys, Ile) 등을 적절히 배합하여 제작 사용하였다. 성장률, 사료효율, 일간성장률 및 단백질효율에 있어서 사료 1은 사료 4, 사료 5 및 사료 6에 비해 유의적인 차이가 없었지만(P>0.05), 나머지 실험구들은 대조구에 비해 유의적으로 낮게 나타났다(P<0.05). 특히, 상품어분대체품(CFMA)인 사료 2와 사료 3은 실험사료로 제작된 동일한 수준의 사료 6과 비교하여 성장률, 사료효율, 단백질효율에서 유의적으로 낮은 경향을 보였다. 0.5% 유인물질을 첨가한 사료 3과 5는 사료 2와 4에 비해 유의적인 차이는 보이지 않았으며(P>0.05), 간중량지수, hemoglobin 및 비만도에 있어서는 유의적인 차이가 나타났다(P<0.05). 따라서, 조피볼락에 있어서 어분대체품(FMA)으로 어분단백질을 40%정도 대체 가능함을 알 수 있었다.

축분자원화물 발생 및 배출부하 원단위 특성 (Characteristics of Unit Load Generation and Discharge from Livestock Resources)

  • 돼지의 분뇨 발생량을 측정한 결과, 3계절과 생체 중량을 고려한 평균 분뇨 발생량은 분이 1.49kg/head/d, 뇨가 3.08kg/head/d로서 총 4.57kg/head/d가 발생하였다. 오염물질 항목별 발생부하 원단위는 BOD 199.5g/head/d, CODCr 413.5g/head/d, 총질소 27.8g/head/d, 총인이 5.3g/head/d로서 BOD를 제외한 기타 오염물질의 발생부하 원단위는 기존 문헌상의 값과 유사하게 나타났다. 한우의 경우 분 발생량은 10.9kg/head/day 뇨 발생량은 3.3kg/head/day 으로 조사되어 농림부(2000)의 조사결과보다 다소 적게 나타났다. 젖소의 경우 분 발생량은 24.6L/head/day 로 다른 기관과는 차이가 났지만, 환경부(2006)의 자료와는 비슷하게 나타났으며, 뇨 발생량은 10.5L/head/day 로 농림부(2000)와 축산기술연구소(2000)보다는 높았지만, 환경부(2006)와 국립환경연구원(1986)과 한국과학기술원(1990)보다는 다소 낮게 조사되었다. 닭의 오염물질 배출량 및 농도분석 원단위를 통하여 산출된 배출부하 원단위는 사육두수 및 사료의 종류, 분의 처리방법의 상이함에 의해 산란계에서 높게 나타난 것으로 판단된다. 배출부하 원단위 중 사슴의 경우 기존의 문헌보다 높게 측정된 것은 사슴의 축종별 체중과 오염물질 발생량의 차이에 의한 것으로 판단된다.

동·식물성 혼합물의 사료 내 어분대체가 강도다리(Platichthys stellatus)의 성장 및 혈액성상에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Dietary Fish Meal Replacement by a Blend of Plant and Animal Ingredients on the Growth and Blood Chemistry of Starry Flounder Platichthys stellatus)

  • A feeding trial was conducted to investigate the effects of dietary fish meal replacement by a blend of lysine cell mass, corn protein concentrate and poultry by-product meal on the growth and blood chemistry of the starry flounder Platichthys stellatus. The fish meal replacer (FMR) was prepared to have the same level of protein as fish meal (FM). With a commercial diet as a positive control, five experimental diets (basal, FM42, FM32, FM22 and FM12) were formulated to contain 52% protein and 10% lipid. The dietary FM levels decreased from 52% (basal) to 42, 32, 22 and 12% with concomitant increase in the FMR to 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50%, respectively. Juvenile starry flounder with an average body weight of 177.3 g were randomly distributed in each (30 fish/tank) of 18 plastic tanks ($139{\times}99{\times}54cm$). After a 45-day feeding trial, the survival rate ranged from 95.6% (FM22) to 100% (control and FM42), while the weight gain of the fish groups varied from 49.7 to 58.4 g. The results clearly revealed that starry flounder can grow well on a diet containing low FM (12%) with a high level of FMR (50%) without any adverse effects.

Effect of different sources and inclusion levels of dietary fat on productive performance and egg quality in laying hens raised under hot environmental conditions

  • Objective: This experiment aimed to investigate the effect of different sources and inclusion levels of dietary fat on productive performance and egg quality in laying hens raised under hot environmental conditions. Methods: A total of 480 Hy-Line Brown laying hens at 31 wk of age were randomly allotted to 1 of 5 experimental diets. The control diet contained 2,800 kcal/kg nitrogen-corrected apparent metabolizable energy with no fat addition. Four additional diets were prepared by adding 2.0% or 4.0% of animal fat (AF) or soybean oil (SO). Energy and nutrient concentrations were consistent among all diets. Diets were fed to hens for 4 weeks. Average daily room temperature and humidity were $26.7^{\circ}C{\pm}1.52^{\circ}C$ and $77.4%{\pm}4.50%$. The heat stress index was approximately 76, indicating that hens were raised under heat stress conditions. Results: Final body weight (BW) was greater (p<0.05) for hens fed diets containing 2.0% or 4.0% AF than for those fed the control diet or diets containing 2.0% or 4.0% SO. The BW gain and feed intake were greater (p<0.05) for hens fed diets containing additional AF or SO than those fed the control diet. Eggshell thickness was the greatest (p<0.05) for hens fed the control diet, but the least (p<0.05) for hens fed diets containing 4.0% SO. Egg yolk color was the greatest (p<0.05) for hens fed the control diet, but the least (p<0.05) for hens fed diets containing 4.0% SO. Conclusion: Inclusion of supplemental fat (AF and SO) in diets exhibits preventative effects on BW loss for hens raised under hot environmental conditions when energy and nutrient concentrations in diets were maintained. The effects were greater for AF than for SO. However, inclusion of supplemental fat in diets decreases eggshell thickness and egg yolk yellowness, possibly due to a reduction in Ca absorption and intake of egg yolk colorants.

Fermented cottonseed meal improves production performance and reduces fat deposition in broiler chickens

  • Objective: This study was conducted to investigate the effect of fermented cottonseed meal (FCSM) on growth performance, carcass traits, and fat deposition in white-feather broiler chickens. Methods: A total of 480 male one-day-old white-feather broiler chickens were selected randomly and divided into four groups with six replicates of 20 chickens in each. The experimental chickens were fed diets including 3%, 6%, or 9% FCSM fermented by Candida tropicalis until 42 days old. In the experiment, the chickens of the control group were fed soybean meal. Results: FCSM supplementation linearly decreased the feed conversion ratio from d 15 to 21 and d 36 to 42, respectively (p<0.05). The percentage of carcass and semi-eviscerate increased in response to dietary FCSM supplementation at d 21 (p<0.05). The percentage of eviscerated and semi-eviscerate of 3FCSM was higher than that in other groups at d 35 (p<0.05). At the age of 42 d, the percentage of carcass increased in a quadratic way among increasing FCSM in diets (p<0.05). The subcutaneous fat thickness linearly decreased with the increasing levels of FCSM at d 21 (p<0.05). Gompertz and Logistic functions provided a better fit on abdominal fat and subcutaneous fat, respectively. The best fitted equation predicted that the maximum growth rate of abdominal fat weight and subcutaneous fat thickness occurred at d 28. FCSM had no significant effects on the shape of growth curve of abdominal fat weight and subcutaneous fat thickness, but reduced the height of the curve. Birds receiving the 6FCSM diet for 21 d had smaller adipocyte surface and lower serum glucose as well as triglyceride concentration. Conclusion: FCSM is beneficial for broiler chickens as it positively affects their growth and carcass in addition to altering their fat deposition.

Effects of lycopene on abdominal fat deposition, serum lipids levels and hepatic lipid metabolism-related enzymes in broiler chickens

  • Objective: The present study was conducted to investigate the effects of lycopene on growth performance, abdominal fat deposition, serum lipids levels, activities of hepatic lipid metabolism related enzymes and genes expression in broiler chickens. Methods: A total of 256 healthy one-day-old male Arbor Acres broiler chicks were randomly divided into four groups with eight replicates of eight birds each. Birds were fed basal diet supplemented with 0 (control), 100, 200, and 400 mg/kg lycopene, respectively. Results: Dietary 100 mg/kg lycopene increased the body weight at 21 day of age compared to the control group (p<0.05). Compared to the basal diet, broilers fed diet with 100 mg/kg lycopene had decreased abdominal fat weight, and broilers fed diet with 100 and 200 mg/kg lycopene had decreased abdominal fat percentage (p<0.05). Compared to control, diets with 100, 200, and 400 mg/kg lycopene reduced the levels of total triglyceride and total cholesterol in serum, and diets with 100 and 200 mg/kg lycopene reduced the level of serum low density lipoprotein cholesterol (p<0.05). The activity of fatty acid synthase (FAS) in 400 mg/kg lycopene treated broilers and the activity of acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) in 100, 200, and 400 mg/kg lycopene treated broilers were lower than those fed basal diet (p<0.05). Lycopene increased the mRNA abundance of adenosine monophosphate activated protein kinase α (AMPK-α), whereas decreased the mRNA abundance of sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1, FAS, and ACC compared to the control group (p<0.05). Conclusion: Dietary lycopene supplementation can alleviate abdominal fat deposition and decrease serum lipids levels, possibly through activating the AMPK signaling pathway, thereby regulating lipid metabolism such as lipogenesis. Therefore, lycopene or lycopene-rich plant materials might be added to poultry feed to regulate lipid metabolism.

셰이빙 스크랩으로부터 콜라겐 펩타이드계 공중합체 합성과 특성 (Synthesis and Characterization of Collagen Peptide Based Copolymer from Shaving Scrap)

  • 피혁 산업은 매년 여러 유형의 유해한 피혁 폐기물을 발생시킨다. 그중에서, 셰이빙 스크랩은 크롬이 함유되어 있어 재활용하기 어렵다. 최근에 셰이빙 스크랩을 이용한 흡착제, 충전제 및 가금류 사료와 같은 다양한 부가가치 제품생산에 활용될 수 있는 많은 연구 결과들이 발표되었다. 본 연구에서는 셰이빙 스크랩으로부터 콜라겐 펩타이드를 추출하고, 이들의 물성을 개선하여 새로운 소재로 사용될 수 있는 방법을 연구하였다. 먼저, 수산화나트륨을 이용하여 셰이빙 스크랩에 포함된 크롬을 제거하였다. 그리고 가수분해물을 제조하여 농축 및 저온 결정화를 통해 정제하였다. 정제된 콜라겐 펩타이드 농축물을 스프레이 드라이어를 이용하여 분말로 제조하였다. 추출 및 정제된 콜라겐 펩타이드와 methacrylic anhyride (MAA)를 반응시켜 이중결합을 도입하였으며, 1H 핵자기공명분광법으로 확인하였다. 다음으로, 개질화 콜라겐 펩타이드에 2-ethylhexyl acrylate (2-EHA)와 레독스 중합하여 공중합체를 만들었으며, 적외선 분광분석으로 그라프트 여부를 정성적으로 확인하였다. 결론적으로, 본 연구를 통하여 피혁 폐기물인 셰이빙 스크랩으로부터 콜라겐 펩타이드를 추출한 후 일정한 처리를 통하여 새로운 친환경 재료로 전환할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

참깨 품질 연구의 현황과 문제점 및 전망 (Current Status and Perspectives of Quality Improvement in Sesame)

  • Sesame(Sesamum indicum L.) is probably the most ancient oilseed crop known in the world. The seed of sesame is used in a variety of ways as food. The whole seed may be eaten raw, either roasted or parched, or fed to birds and stock. Sesame oil is used as a salad or cooking oil, in shortening, margarine and in the manufacture of soap. Minor uses are as a fixative in the perfume industry and formerly as a carrier for fatsoluble substances in pharmaceuticals such as penicillin. One of the minor constituents of sesame oil, sesamin, is used for its synergistic effect in pyrethrin insecticides, in addition of a small quantity of this substance markedly increases the effectiveness of fly sprays. The meal remaining after oil extraction can be used as and animal feed-stuff or as manure. In general sesame meal is considered to be equal to cottonseed or soybean meal as a protein supplement for livestock and poultry. It is especially high in certain amino-acids such as methionine, which is low in soybean meal, and thus can be combined with it or similar meal to form a more balanced ration. An attempt to summarize the literature review on quality improvement of sesame was made to discuss the accomplishments of the past and perspectives in the future. The reviews on quality improvement of sesame were mainly discussed in connection with the cultural practices and genetic informations in current status. The emphasis focussed on environmental variation of quality in cultural practices, such as harvest time, variety by location, climatic condition, fertilizer application, and growth regulator treatment. On the genetic variation of quality, it was discussed on variety background, mutation breeding, correlations, and inheritance of quality related characteristics. It also was discussed on relationship between quality and plant traits, storage condition or period, and seed coat color. Moreover, current research status were reviewed on some minor elements such as sesamin, oxalic acid, and trypsin inhibitor. As a results of the review, the lack of an effort to quality improvement in each utilization area was indicated as a problem area. More active efforts for the improvement of quality were also insufficient to incorporate the available genes for quality in breeding method or collection and analysis of breeding materials. Therefore, researches in the future would be recommended to emphasize on these problem areas.
