  • Recently, due to construction of the recession quantity of unsold houses is increasing and construction company is experiencing financial difficulties. As a result, construction is being ousted, or workout. Accordingly, construction may be devising a method for oneself like salary cuts, layoffs as part of the rationalization of management. But in this way may be increasing employees's perception about job insecurity and payment unsatisfaction. This has the potential to do employees turnover. Turnover has be known that it brings both positive and negative results to the organization. But if new employees leaves early, the positive aspect of the organization will be less likely. In order to solve these problems, new employees turnover intention will be necessary for the thorough management. The purpose of this study is to identity how the perception of job insecurity, payment satisfaction, organizational commitment, excessive workload, competitiveness for employment and job suitability affect new employees turnover intention. As the degrees of impacts of variables affecting turnover intention of new employees might be different between small to medium and large construction companies, this research also compares the differences between these two groups and suggest measures for reducing turnover intention.

Audience Awareness of Virtual Advertising and Product Placement (가상광고와 간접광고에 대한 수용자 인식)

  • Virtual Advertising and Product Placement which had been brought up to strengthen the competitiveness of the contents and vitalize the Advertising Industry, especially broadcasting advertising were finally adopted. This is a study to review what the background and the current condition of the virtual advertising and product placement are, identify what their current and potential problems are, and discuss how to settle the issues and make improvements. It also presents an empirical study on audience awareness. As a result of the study, audience tends to show high awareness of virtual advertising and product placement, to accept them more positively and show higher reliability of them than any other advertising. Moreover, it appears that they pay more attention to them, express their favor on them, and regard them convincing. This is an important point to both academic field and industry, which is likely to give suggestions to establish policy for virtual advertising and product placement and to develop broadcasting advertising in the future.

  • Regional tourism is an effective means of revitalizing the local economy and improving the image of the region. In order to revitalize this, efforts should be made to create regionally specialized tourism products and to preserve the unique culture and traditions. Among them, gathering information about visitors and securing the quality competitiveness of the contents of tourism contents are very important to increase the potential of cultural tourism festival. This paper collects, refines, and processes the festival-related data in a specific area in order to enhance the visitor's tourism needs and satisfaction. In particular, negative words and positive words raised during the festival were analyzed through big data visualization using word cloud.

  • Nanotechnology is a leading branch of technology and is expected to improve national industrial competitiveness. For maintaining a sustainable growth in nanotechnology, Korean government has set up specific plans from a long-term perspective. One of these plans is tracking and promoting certain potential technologies called Future 30 Nanotechnologies. This study aims to develop an analysis framework for comprehending the Future 30 Nanotechnologies. We applied this framework to the carbon nanomaterials field. Through co-authorship and keyword network analysis, we identified the research trends of three countries (i.e., Korea, US, and China.). This research framework could be utilized in the development of a nanotechnology policy.

  • To develop a creative design concept, amount of idea thinking between team members is important. In the process of planning to proposal brainstorming helps clarification of problems and allows a creative solution. Here, idea generation is to express thinking into words, and greater amount of idea is more valued than to choose one fine idea at first. This paper studies actual processes of brainstorming, and we utilize network services upgraded in Web and multimedia techniques to develop idea with arrangement. We compare the amount of idea generation by groups and topics with Brainwriting and Braindrawing of Webstorming, without limitation of space and time. Then, we propose a creative idea thinking by analyzing the characteristics of design team members in various aspects. This result will contribute in improving national potential value and design competitiveness by the help of design and IT, on product research and marketing.

UK Urban Regeneration Policy for Comprtitiveness: A Government Perspective

  • The UK Government's approach to how to deliver regeneration in its towns and cities has changed considerably in recent years. Traditionally, urban regeneration policy focused on reversing physical, economic and social decline in an area where market forces would not do this without intervention. Since 2010 urban regeneration has become a vital part of the Government's approach to increasing local growth and competitiveness and building a strong and balanced economy. The current emphasis is on a place-based approach to regeneration that builds on the particular strengths of different places to drive growth and addresses the factors that hold them back. This paper outlines the key features of current UK urban regeneration policy and how interventions to support regeneration and growth are being pursued at different spatial scales to ensure all parts of the country benefit. They include pan regional initiatives like the Northern Powerhouse and Midlands Way, to groups of local authorities operating at a sub regional level (combined authorities/city regions), Local Enterprise Partnerships, and a variety of smaller scale programmes delivering regeneration in areas of economic and social decline. The paper explains some of the policy instruments and funding programmes available to support regeneration, and provides case studies of some major urban regeneration projects that illustrate the new approach including housing and infrastructure improvements like the planned High Speed Rail 2 line. These are supporting regeneration through the creation of strategic partnerships involving government, places and investors. The paper concludes with some lessons from past and future regeneration schemes to improve their effectiveness and impact on places and enhance local growth potential.

  • Crafts in our country designated as an Important Intangible Cultural Property. Are protected, but not being utilized less than in everyday life. But now that the culture industry has important strategic and cultural factors that influence the competitiveness of the industrial era was. So on the activation of traditional crafts growing interest and demand, but the nature of traditional crafts are still several issues that are faced. Of course, for the protection and industrial policies and institutional mechanisms, but not without a very negative and is weak. Therefore, preservation of traditional crafts and industrial use of the technology to effectively carry out two tasks have the policy should be sought from every angle. In this study, the kind of important intangible cultural heritage of the traditional craft techniques from various angles by category, by systematically analyze the characteristics of modern man with the utilization of real-world craftsmanship with the highest tradition of finding and preserving traditional craft skills in the limit popular and can be out of the technology industry as a potential development is proposed.

The Challenge of the Third Generation Port and Port Competition (제 3 세대 항만의 도래와 항만경쟁)

  • Technological and organisational changes in transport system have introduced new dimension into port system development and inter-port competition. The quality of service now required by the customer is costly and not easily provided by small shipping companies and small ports. It has been suggested that in the future container shipping may be concentrated by space-sharing arrangements or actual mergers into the hands of a few mega-operators with the investment potential to provide total logistics networks. In order to compete effectively, high load factors will be essential and port concentration inevitable. A fa-voured few ports will become the load centres and other ports will assume a secondary feeder role. In this study, three questions are raised and attempts are made to answer them : (a) what is the new role of ports today ; (b) why should ports be engaged in this new role ; and (c) how can ports play this new role. In short, a modern port should be a service centre and a logistic platform for international trade and transport-a third generation port. Ports, in particular, have to make every effort to be competitive in the cost and quality of services and to make the port a transport and distribution service centre. For most ports, this is not an option but a must ; an essential requirement for survival in this win or lose situation. The best way to win is to maintain a close contact with port users, listen to them, discuss with them, help them and satisfy them. That is port marketing. Starting from the findings of port marketing, it is es-sential to work out appropriate development plans and marketing targets and to improve port competitive-ness. As an alternative method, a port competitiveness model is suggested, which may help port managers to make appropriate improvements.

  • This is the time that political effort is required to encourage domestic companies to expand overseas facing internationalization. Regarding exportation, not only major companies, but SMEs also should be greatly concerned. As for the case of SMEs, it has been thought to be as inferior brand image in domestic market, but as world market such as China is very huge and diverse. There is high possibility of increasing in export of SMEs with concerns. To strengthen the competitiveness and develop the potential of SMEs, promoting renovation of system is a must, over the renovation of skill or management. It is important to figure out the degree of contribution and route for exports, since every company has different aspects. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to calculate the degree of contribution of Korean SMEs, and to find further improvements by understanding export route. It also tries to suggest proper policies to vitalize SME's export.

  • Opening and regional economic integration are characteristic of global economic trends that have been made since the 1990s. Accordingly, all economic blocs of the world are largely reorganized into three poles, European Economic Bloc, American Economic Bloc and Northeast Asian Economic Block which are respectively led by EU, the United States and the rapidly emerging economic power, China. Considering this direction of global economy, the current status of Northeast Asia, China's unprecedentedly enormous port development project and Japan's introduction of an epoch-making port policy towards the restoration of its port competitiveness, Korea is urgently need to take its own initiatives and positive actions that can cope with the above situations. The purpose of this study is to propose ways of strategic cooperation for Korea-Japan joint development. For the purpose, this researcher provides the concept and preconditions of hub-port, investigates hub-port development strategies of rival companies in Northeast Asia and discusses the potential of the development of the Korea-Japan Strait Economic Zone which is located between Busan port and Japan's Honshu(Simonoseki port) and Kyushu(Kitakyushu port).
