The Accurate Ranging System for Geodetic Observation - Mobile (ARGO-M) was successfully developed as the first Korean mobile Satellite Laser Ranging (SLR) system in 2012, and has joined in the International Laser Ranging Service (ILRS) tracking network, DAEdeoK (DAEK) station. The DAEK SLR station was approved as a validated station in April 2014, through the ILRS station "data validation" process. The ARGO-M system is designed to enable 2 kHz laser ranging with millimeter-level precision for geodetic, remote sensing, navigation, and experimental satellites equipped with Laser Retro-reflector Arrays (LRAs). In this paper, we present the design and development of a next generation high-repetition-rate SLR system for ARGO-M. The laser ranging rate up to 10 kHz is becoming an important issue in the SLR community to improve ranging precision. To implement high-repetition-rate SLR system, the High-repetition-rate SLR operation system (HSLR-10) was designed and developed using ARGO-M Range Gate Generator (A-RGG), so as to enable laser ranging from 50 Hz to 10 kHz. HSLR-10 includes both hardware controlling software and data post-processing software. This paper shows the design and development of key technologies of high-repetition-rate SLR system. The developed system was tested successfully at DAEK station and then moved to Sejong station, a new Korean SLR station, on July 1, 2015. HSLR-10 will begin normal operations at Sejong station in the near future.

Multiple-in multiple-out (MIMO) in long-term evolution (LTE) is an essential factor in achieving high speed data rates and spectral efficiency. The unexpected growth in data rate demand has pushed researchers to extend the benefits of multi-user MIMO. The multi-user MIMO system can take full advantage of channel conditions by employing efficient adjustment techniques for scheduling, and by assigning different modulation and coding rates. However, one of the critical issues affecting this feature is the appropriate estimation of channel quality indicator (CQI) to manage the allocated resources to users. Therefore, an accurate CQI estimation scheme is required for the multi-user MIMO transmission to obtain significant improvements on spectral efficiency. This paper presents overviews of multi-user MIMO in LTE/LTE-advanced systems. The link adaptation, scheduling process, and different factors that affect the reliability of CQI measurements are discussed. State-of-the-art schemes for the post-processing CQI estimation, and the comparisons of various CQI estimation schemes to support multi-user MIMO are also addressed.

In the recently, violent crime and accidental crime has been generated continuously. Consequently, people anxiety has been heightened. The Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) has been used to ensure the security and evidence for the crimes. However, the video captured from CCTV has being used in the post-processing to apply to the evidence. In this paper, we propose a flexible multi-level models for estimating whether dangerous behavior and the environment and context for pedestrians. The situation analysis builds the knowledge for the pedestrians tracking. Finally, the decision step decides and notifies the threat situation when the behavior observed object is determined to abnormal behavior. Thereby, tracking the behavior of objects in a multi-region, it can be seen that the risk of the object behavior. It can be predicted by the behavior prediction of crime.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to analyze three-dimensional images of the arterial supply to the temporo-mandibular joint. Materials and Methods: Ten patients (five men and five women, mean age 36 years) without signs or symptoms of temporomandibular disorders, who underwent contrast-enhanced computed tomographic (CT) scanning with intravenous contrast, were studied. The direct volume rendering technique of CT images was used, and a data set of images to visualize the vasculature of the human temporomandibular joint in three dimensions was created. After elaboration of the data through post-processing, the arterial supply of the temporomandibular joint was studied. Results: The analysis revealed the superficial temporal artery, the anterior tympanic artery, the deep temporal artery, the auricular posterior artery, the transverse facial artery, the middle meningeal artery, and the maxillary artery with their branches as the main arterial sources for the lateral and medial temporomandibular joint. Conclusion: The direct volume rendering technique was found to be successful in the assessment of the arterial supply to the temporomandibular joint. The superficial temporal artery and maxillary artery ran along the lateral and medial sides of the condylar neck, suggesting that these arteries are at increased risk during soft-tissue procedures such as an elective arthroplasty of the temporomandibular joint.
Due to rapid advance of wireless communication technology, demand on data services in mobile environment is gradually increasing. Caching at a mobile client could reduce bandwidth consumption and query response time, and yet a mobile client must maintain cache consistency. It could be efficient for the server to broadcast a periodic cache invalidation report for cache consistency in a cell. In case that long period of disconnection prevents a mobile client from checking validity of its cache based solely on the invalidation report received, the mobile client could request the server to check cache validity. In doing so, some schemes may be more efficient than others depending on the number of available channels and the mobile clients involved. In this paper, we propose new cache consistency schemes, effects, efficient especially (1) when channel capacity is enough to deal with the mobile clients involved or (2) when that is not the case, and evaluate their performance.
The application of the BIM for the KEPCO' new headquarters in Naju involved alternative approaches and accompanied many trials-and-errors as the project adopted new targets and purposes that were not used in Korea before. In particular, for a large BIM-based project, clearly defining the BIM-including the objective, scope and the outcome-is critical for a project owner. For a successful implementation, project owners should improve the utilization of the BIM. Against this background, this research examines the case of the BIM application for the KEPCO' new headquarters in Naju, identifies its effects and problems, and proposes how to improve application of the BIM for public projects. The improvement in the BIM application can be divided into several stages: project order, design development, construction, and post-construction maintenance. In the initial stage, it is important to fully discuss the project planning among participants, and clarify the goal, scope, expected outcomes and role of the BIM. In the design stage, the level of detail (LOD) for the 3D model should be defined in consideration of information use in the stages of estimation and construction. In the construction stage, the scope of project that is managed based on the processing and use of the BIM data should be clearly given and understood. After construction is complete, measures should be sought to use the BIM for maintenance, and corresponding requirements and outcomes should be provided. The analysis is expected to provide basic data for successful implementation of BIM-based public projects, by assisting project owners and involved parties in enhancing work in different stages of a project.

Since 1993, the civil aviation community through RTCA (Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics) and the ICAO (International Civil Air Navigation Organization) have been working on the definition of GNSS augmentation systems that will provide improved levels of accuracy and integrity. These augmentation systems have been classified into three distinct groups: Aircraft Based Augmentation Systems (ABAS), Space Based Augmentation Systems (SBAS) and Ground Based Augmentation Systems (GBAS). The last one is an implemented system to support Air Navigation in CAT-I approaching operation. It consists of three primary subsystems: the GNSS Satellite subsystem that produces the ranging signals and navigation messages; the GBAS ground subsystem, which uses two or more GNSS receivers. It collects pseudo ranges for all GNSS satellites in view and computes and broadcasts differential corrections and integrity-related information; the Aircraft subsystem. Within the area of coverage of the ground station, aircraft subsystems may use the broadcast corrections to compute their own measurements in line with the differential principle. After selection of the desired FAS for the landing runway, the differentially corrected position is used to generate navigation guidance signals. Those are lateral and vertical deviations as well as distance to the threshold crossing point of the selected FAS and integrity flags. The Department of Applied Science in Naples has create for its study a virtual GBAS Ground station. Starting from three GPS double frequency receivers, we collect data of 24h measures session and in post processing we generate the GC (GBAS Correction). For this goal we use the software Pegasus V4.1 developed from EUROCONTROL. Generating the GC we have the possibility to study and monitor GBAS performance and integrity starting from a virtual functional architecture. The latter allows us to collect data without the necessity to found us authorization for the access to restricted area in airport where there is one GBAS installation.
In this study, the LIDMOD3 was developed to design and evaluate low impact development (LIDMOD). In the same fashion, the LIDMOD3 employs a curve number (NRCS-CN) method to estimate the surface runoff, infiltration and event mean concentration as applicable to pollutant loads which are based on a daily time step. In these terms, the LIDMOD3 can consider a hydrologic soil group for each land use type LID-BMP, and the applied removal efficiency of the surface runoff and pollutant loads by virtue of the stored capacity, which was calculated by analyzing the recorded water balance. As a result of Model development, the LIDMOD3 is based on an Excel spread sheet and consists of 8 sheets of information data, including: General information, Annual precipitation, Land use, Drainage area, LID-BMPs, Cals-cap, Parameters, and the Results. In addition, the LIDMOD3 can estimate the annual hydrology and annual pollutant loads including surface runoff and infiltration, the LID efficiency of the estimated surface runoff for a design rainfall event, and an analysis of the peak flow and time to peak using a unit hydrolograph for pre-development, post-development without LID, and as calculated with LID. As a result of the model application as applied to an apartment, the LIDMOD3 can estimate LID-BMPs considering a well spatical distributed hydroloic soil group as realized on land use and with the LID-BMPs. Essentially, the LIDMOD3 is a screen level and simple model which is easy to use because it is an Excel based model, as are most parameters in the database. This system can be expected to be widely used at the LID site to collect data within various programmable model parameters for the processing of a detail LID model simulation.
For GNSS navigation in urban environment, a novel short delay multipath mitigation algorithm is proposed in this paper. This algorithm detects which satellite's signal is the multipath signal by using the constraint that GNSS receiver is equipped in a ground vehicle, then estimate new position after separating the measurement of that satellite. A criterion for detecting and validating the multipath signal depends on the performance grade of the GNSS receiver and the dynamics of the vehicle. In order to evaluate the proposed algorithm, the real data had been collected at the multipath environment of 4 scenarios. By post-processing the real data with both of the multipath mitigation algorithm in the receiver and the proposed algorithm, it can be checked that the position errors were less than 5 meters except the case that the number of visible satellite is lower than 5.
Purpose: This in vitro study measured and compared 3 intraoral scanners' accuracy (trueness and precision) with different span lengths. Materials and Methods: Three master casts were prepared to simulate 3 different span lengths (fixed partial dentures with 3, 4, and 5 units). Each master cast was scanned once with an E3 lab scanner and 10 times with each of the 3 intraoral scanners (Trios 3, Planmeca Emerald, and Primescan AC). Data were stored as Standard Tessellation Language (STL) files. The differences between measurements were compared 3-dimensionally using metrology software. Data were analyzed using 1-way analysis of variance with post hoc analysis by the Tukey honest significant difference test for trueness and precision. Statistical significance was set at P<0.05. Results: A statistically significant difference was found between the 3 intraoral scanners in trueness and precision (P<0.05). Primescan AC showed the lowest trueness and precision values(36.8 ㎛ and 42.0 ㎛;(39.4 ㎛ and 51.2 ㎛; and 54.9 ㎛ and 52.7 ㎛) followed by Trios 3 (38.9 ㎛ and 53.5 ㎛; 49.9 ㎛ and 59.1 ㎛; and 58.1 ㎛ and 64.5 ㎛) and Planmeca Emerald (60.4 ㎛ and 63.6 ㎛; 61.3 ㎛ and 69.0 ㎛; and 70.8 ㎛ and 74.3 ㎛) for the 3-unit, 4-unit, and 5-unit fixed partial dentures, respectively. Conclusion: Primescan AC had the best trueness and precision, followed by Trios 3 and Planmeca Emerald. Increasing span length reduced the trueness and precession of the 3 scanners; however, their values were within the accepted successful ranges.
