대차 프레임의 건전성평가를 위한 초음파신호 후처리기 시뮬레이터 구축 (Post-processor Simulator Construction of Ultrasonic Signals for Integrity Evaluation of Railway Truck)

  • This study proposes the post-processor simulator construction of ultrasonic signal for integrity evaluation of railway truck. For these purposes, the ultrasonic signals for defects(crack) of weld zone in frames are acquired in the type of time series data and echo strength. The detection of the natural defects in railway truck is performed using the characteristics of echodynamic pattern in ultrasonic signal. The constructed post-processor simulator agree fairly well with the measured results of test block(defect location, beam propagation distance, echo strength, etc). Proposed post-processor simulator construction of ultrasonic in this study can be used for the integrity evaluation of railway truck.

Non-linear free vibrations and post-buckling analysis of shear flexible functionally graded beams

  • Large amplitude free vibration and thermal post-buckling of shear flexible Functionally Graded Material (FGM) beams is studied using finite element formulation based on first order Timoshenko beam theory. Classical boundary conditions are considered. The ends are assumed to be axially immovable. The von-Karman type strain-displacement relations are used to account for geometric non-linearity. For all the boundary conditions considered, hardening type of non-linearity is observed. For large amplitude vibration of FGM beams, a comprehensive study has been carried out with various lengths to height ratios, maximum lateral amplitude to radius of gyration ratios, volume fraction exponents and boundary conditions. It is observed that, for FGM beams, the non-linear frequencies are dependent on the sign of the vibration amplitudes. For thermal post-buckling of FGM beams, the effect of shear flexibility on the structural response is discussed in detail for different volume fraction exponents, length to height ratios and boundary conditions. The effect of shear flexibility is observed to be predominant for clamped beam as compared to simply supported beam.

  • A simplified analysis procedure utilizing the strut-tie modeling technique is developed to take a close look into the post-elastic deformation capacity of beam-column connections in ductile reinforced concrete frame structures. Particular emphasis is given to the effect of concrete strength decay and quantity and arrangement of joint shear steel. For this a fan-shaped crack pattern is postulated through the joints. A series of hypothetical rigid nodes are assumed through which struts, ties and boundaries are connected to each other. The equilibrium consideration enables all forces in struts, ties and boundaries to be related through the nodes. The boundary condition surrounding the joints is obtained by the mechanism analysis of the frame structures. In order to avoid a complexity from the indeterminacy of the truss model, it is assumed that all shear steel yielded. It is noted from the previous research that the capacity of struts is limited by the principal tensile strain of the joint panel for which the strain of the transverse diagonal is taken. The post-yield deformation of joint steel is taken to be the only source of the joint shear deformation beyond the elastic range. Both deformations are related by the energy consideration. The analysis is then performed by iteration for a given shear strain. The analysis results indicate that concentrating most of the joint steel near the center of the joint along with higher strength concrete may enhance the post-elastic joint performance.

Effectiveness of CFRP jackets in post-earthquake and pre-earthquake retrofitting of beam-column subassemblages

  • This paper presents the findings of an experimental study to evaluate retrofit methods which address particular weaknesses that are often found in reinforced concrete structures, especially older structures, namely the lack of the required flexural and shear reinforcement within the columns and the lack of the required shear reinforcement within the joints. Thus, the use of a high-strength fiber jacket for cases of post-earthquake and pre-earthquake retrofitting of columns and beam-column joints was investigated experimentally. In this paper, the effectiveness of the two jacket styles was also compared.

  • Three precast concrete beam-column connectors for the high-rise office buildings were considered to investigate the prestressing effects of the DDC(Dywidag Ductile Connectors) of Germany and of the modified DDC. The specimens of DDC, DDC with post-tensioning and modified DDC with post-tensioning were constructed and tested to verify the safety. The DDC with and without post-tensioning showed reliable joint strength and ductility but failed in critical x-shape crackings at the column. The modified one showed better behaviors in tests because they did not show critical column crackings at failure. The use of prestressing did not helpful significantly to increase the strength and ductility of connectors but helpful only to develop self-centering behavior for stability.

프리캐스트 포스트텐션 콘크리트 보-기둥 접합부의 전단성능 (Shear Resistance Capacity of Precast Post-tensioned Concrete Beam-Column Connection)

  • The first thing in developing precast post-tensioned concrete frame system verify the shear resistance capacity of the beam-column connection at which the transfer of member forces become discontinuous. Complying with the necessity of such experimental research, shear tests have been performed for six test specimens which were cast and cured at Dong-Ah Concrete Manufacturing Company and post-tensioning at Concrete Laboratory of Inha University. Shear key and magnitude of post-tensioned force are taken test variables. From the test results, it has been observed that the shear resistance of the specimens attained to higher values than those of theoritical calculations based on the shear friction with shear friction coefficient being 0.6.

  • 본 연구는 지진운동의 영향 하에서 강제 모멘트 골조로 이루어진 post-Northridge 연결부를 갖는 보의 탄성 및 비탄성 거동을 모델하기 위한 부등단면 보 요소를 제시한다. 단면감소 연결부를 갖는 부등단면 보의 탄성강성 행렬은 수치적분이 필요치 많은 수식으로 표현된다. 소성모델은 분포형이며 강체링크로 연결된 일련의 비선형 힌지로 구성 되어있고 경화법칙은 단조 및 임의 주기 하중에 대한 비탄성 거동과 국부좌굴의 효과를 고려할 수 있다. 모델의 대조와 검증은 동반논문에 제시되어있다.

  • PPS(post-tensioned precast concrete system)공법은 U자형 PC로 제작한 넓은 보와 PC 또는 현장 타설 콘크리트로 제작한 기둥으로 구성되며 PC 보와 기둥의 일체성 확보를 위하여 프리스트레스를 도입하였다. 본 연구는 PPS 공법 개발의 일부로 넓은 보의 기둥 폭 내부에 정착되어진 휨철근의 양에 따른 거동특성을 분석하고자 실험적 연구를 수행하였다. 실험체는 기둥 폭내, 외부에 위치한 휭 철근의 양을 달리한 정착비와 동일한 정착비내에서 철근과 긴장재의 양을 주요변수로 하여 대상건물의 내부접합부를 대상으로 1/2크기로 제작하였다. 그 결과 NEHRP 권고사항에서 규정한 한계변위각 0.035까지 내력저하 없이 충분한 내력을 보유하였으며, 보의 휨 파괴가 주요 파괴모드로 접합부에서 전단파괴는 일어나지 않았다. 그리고 넓은 보에 포스트텐션을 도입한 PPS 공법은 기둥 폭 내부의 정착비가 $35\%$인 경우 다소 높은 비틀림 응력을 나타내었으나, 기둥 폭 외부에 위치한 인장철근의 항복 이후 긴장재가 응력을 충분히 발휘함으로서 일체식 구조의 넓은 보-기둥 접합부와 달리 비탄성 이력거동을 통하여 에너지를 효과적으로 소산하였다. 또한 ACI의 proposed provisional standard의 PC 접합부 구조성능 평가지침에 의해 분석한 결과, 모든 실험체에서 허용기준을 모두 만족하고 있으며, 강도의 큰 저하 없이 연성적인 거동을 하고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

전자선 석판 기술에서 디지타이징과 노광후굽기 최적화를 통한 40 nm 급 패턴 제작에 관한 연구 (Study on 40 nm Electron Beam Patterning by Optimization of Digitizing Method and Post Exposure Bake)

  • 본 논문에서는 전자선 직접 묘화 시스템을 이용하여 50 nm 이하의 패턴 폭을 가지는 패터닝 결과를 얻기 위한 실험을 수행하였다. SAL601 negative E-beam PR(Photo Resist)를 이용하여 실험을 진행하였고, E-beam 장비의 특성을 최대로 이용하기 위해서 PR의 두께를 100nm로 줄이고, field 크기를 200 ${um}m$로 줄여 실험하였으며, 또한 SAL601 PR의 경우 작은 선폭을 얻기 위해 중요한 요인 중에 하나인 PEB (Post Expose Bake) 온도와 시간을 줄이면서 실험을 진행하였다. 여기에 디지타이징 방식의 최적화를 통하여 50 nm 이하의 패턴 폭을 가지는 단선 패터닝 결과를 얻었다. 이 공정을 이용하여 단전자 메모리 소자에 응용 가능한 50 nm 급의 silicon 양자선과 silicon 양자점을 제작하였다. 이는 현재 많이 연구되고 있는 단전자 기억소자 및 국소 채널 MOS소자 제작에 유용할 것이다.

Thermal post-buckling analysis of uniform slender functionally graded material beams

  • Two or more distinct materials are combined into a single functionally graded material (FGM) where the microstructural composition and properties change gradually. Thermal post-buckling behavior of uniform slender FGM beams is investigated independently using the classical Rayleigh-Ritz (RR) formulation and the versatile Finite Element Analysis (FEA) formulation developed in this paper. The von-Karman strain-displacement relations are used to account for moderately large deflections of FGM beams. Bending-extension coupling arising due to heterogeneity of material through the thickness is included. Simply supported and clamped beams with axially immovable ends are considered in the present study. Post-buckling load versus deflection curves and buckled mode shapes obtained from both the RR and FEA formulations for different volume fraction exponents show an excellent agreement with the available literature results for simply supported ends. Response of the FGM beam with clamped ends is studied for the first time and the results from both the RR and FEA formulations show a very good agreement. Though the response of the FGM beam could have been studied more accurately by FEA formulation alone, the authors aim to apply the RR formulation is to find an approximate closed form post-buckling solutions for the FGM beams. Further, the use of the RR formulation clearly demonstrates the effect of bending-extension coupling on the post-buckling response of the FGM beams.
