In this paper, we introduce a new genetic reordering operator based on the concept of schema to solve the Traveling Salesman Problem(TSP). Because TSP is a well-known combinatorial optimization problem and belongs to a NP-complete problem, there is a huge solution space to be searched. For robustness to local minima, the operator separates selected strings into two parts to reduce the destructive probability of good building blocks. And it applies inversion to the schema part to prevent the premature convergence. At the same time, it searches new spaces of solutions. In addition, we have the non-schema part to be applied to inversion as well as for robustness to local minima. By doing so, we can preserve diversity of the distributions in population and make GA be adaptive to the dynamic environment.
In a previous study, the stochastic space-dependent kinetics model (SSKM) based on the forward stochastic model in stochastic kinetics theory and the Ito stochastic differential equations was proposed for treating monoenergetic space-time nuclear reactor kinetics in one dimension. The SSKM was tested against analog Monte Carlo calculations, however, for exemplary cases of homogeneous slab reactors with only one delayed-neutron precursor group. In this paper, the SSKM is improved and evaluated with more realistic and complicated cases regarding several delayed-neutron precursor groups and heterogeneous slab reactors in which the extraneous source or reactivity can be introduced locally. Furthermore, the source level and the initial conditions will also be adjusted to investigate the trends in the variances of the neutron population and fission product levels across the reactor. The results indicate that the improved SSKM is in good agreement with the Monte Carlo method and show how the variances in population dynamics can be controlled.

Newcastle disease (ND), infectious laryngotracheitis (ILT) and avian metapneumovirus (aMPV) can be similar making it critical to quickly differentiate them. Herein, we adapted pre-existing molecular-based diagnostic assays for NDV and ILTV, and developed new assays for aMPV A and B, for use under synchronized thermocycling conditions. All assays performed equivalently with linearity over a 5 log10 dynamic range, a reproducible (R2 > 0.99) limit of detection of ≥ 10 target copies, and amplification efficiencies between 86.8%-98.2%. Using biological specimens for NDV and ILTV showed 100% specificity. Identical amplification conditions will simplify procedures for detection in diagnostic laboratories.
Marker-assisted gene pyramiding aims to produce individuals with superior economic traits according to the optimal breeding scheme which involves selecting a series of favorite target alleles after cross of base populations and pyramiding them into a single genotype. Inspired by the science of evolutionary computation, we used the metaphor of hill-climbing to model the dynamic behavior of gene pyramiding. In consideration of the traditional cross program of animals along with the features of animal segregating populations, four types of cross programs and two types of selection strategies for gene pyramiding are performed from a practical perspective. Two population cross for pyramiding two genes (denoted II), three population cascading cross for pyramiding three genes(denoted III), four population symmetry (denoted IIII-S) and cascading cross for pyramiding four genes (denoted IIII-C), and various schemes (denoted cross program-A-E) are designed for each cross program given different levels of initial favorite allele frequencies, base population sizes and trait heritabilities. The process of gene pyramiding breeding for various schemes are simulated and compared based on the population hamming distance, average superior genotype frequencies and average phenotypic values. By simulation, the results show that the larger base population size and the higher the initial favorite allele frequency the higher the efficiency of gene pyramiding. Parents cross order is shown to be the most important factor in a cascading cross, but has no significant influence on the symmetric cross. The results also show that genotypic selection strategy is superior to phenotypic selection in accelerating gene pyramiding. Moreover, the method and corresponding software was used to compare different cross schemes and selection strategies.
Nowadays, there are two classes of methods for damage detection in structures consisting of static and dynamic. The dynamic methods are based on studying the changes in structure's dynamic characteristics. The theoretical basis of this method is that damage causes changes in dynamic characteristics of structures. The dynamic methods are divided into two categories: signal based and modal based. The modal based methods utilize the modal properties consisting of natural frequencies, modal damping and mode shapes. As the modal properties are sensitive to changes in the structure, these can be used for detecting the damages. In this study, using dynamic method and modal based approach (natural frequencies and mode shapes), the objective function is formulated. Then, detection of damages of truss structures is addressed by using Simplified Dolphin Echolocation algorithm and solving inverse optimization problem. Many scenarios are used to simulate the damages. To demonstrate the ability of the algorithm, different truss structures with several multiple elements scenarios are tested using a few runs. The influence of the two different levels of noise in the modal data for these scenarios is also considered. The last example of this article is investigated using a different mutation. This mutation obtains the exact answer with fewer loops and population by limited computational effort.

Large-scale urban concentration of population and vehicles due to economic growth in Korea has been causing serious urban transport problems. Although the collection of congestion pricing has been evaluated as the most effective transportation policy to alleviate traffic demand, its effectiveness is very limited as it was just executed around congested points or along main arterial roads. This study derived dynamic congestion zones with the average travel speed of 206 traffic analysis zones in Busan Metropolitan City to propose a dynamic congestion pricing collection system by employing Space-Time Cube Analysis and Emerging Hot Spot Analysis. As a result, dynamic hot spots were formed from 7h to 24h and particularly, traffic congestion was severely deteriorated from 18h to 20h around Seomyeon and Gwangbok-dong. Therefore, it is expected that the effect of dynamic congestion pricing will be maximized in managing traffic demand in the city center.

Background: This study analyzed the demographic characteristics of patients with facial palsy who were treated using either dynamic or static procedures. This study aimed to compare the frequency of procedure implementation and age distribution between the two groups. Methods: This study retrospectively analyzed the medical records of patients treated for facial palsy at a single institution from 2014 to 2022. Among cases included in our study, dynamic procedures involved cross-facial nerve graft and latissimus dorsi or gracilis muscle flap transfer. Static procedures included gold weight insertion, canthopexy, browlift, and thread lift/static slings. Results: Among the 31 patients included in our study, eight (25.8%) incorporated dynamic techniques, and the average age of patients was 44.75 years (range, 24-68 years) with a male to female ratio of 1:4. The remaining 23 patients (74.2%) underwent a static procedure, of which the average age was 59.17 years (range, 23-81 years) which was statistically significantly higher than the average age of 44.75 of dynamic patients (p= 0.013). Regarding the timing of treatment after diagnosis, no patient underwent dynamic procedures more than 20 years after initial diagnosis. A greater diversity in the timing of treatment was observed in the static group. All patients who underwent dynamic procedures were treated using static procedures during the study period. Conclusion: Because aesthetics-based static techniques are typically quick outpatient procedures that can be performed under local anesthesia, our study shows that these are often preferred treatments for all age groups, especially for debilitated or older patients. Further research is required to investigate the long-term functional outcomes of these surgical techniques in a wider population of patients.
In this paper, we evaluate life annuity plans for Korean pre-retired single and married couple participating Korea National Pension (KNP) and find optimal life annuity strategy by using utility-based measurements called AEW (Annuity Equivalent Wealth). Specifically, we extend a previous study to obtain a detailed optimal combination of annuitizing age and wealth in terms of percentage of net wealth at the time of retirement. A nonlinear optimization model is formulated with the objective of maximizing utility on consumption and bequest, and the dynamic programming (DP) technique is used to solve this problem. We find that there exist consistent patterns in optimal combinations of annuitizing age and wealth. Also, for all cases the optimal combination is significantly better than several other combinations. The results indicate that using the optimal approach can be beneficial to practitioners in insurance industry and prospective purchasers of life annuity. We conclude the paper with some discussions and suggestions.
During the past few years, cyberspace and electronic commerce has been expanding throughout the world rapidly. The purpose of this paper is to find out policy leverages for boosting up cyberspace and electronic commerce using system dynamics simulation modeling approach. The system dynamics simulation model developed in this paper allows analysis of both the effect of factors on dynamic growth pattern of cyberspace as well as the effect of time delay in information processing, money transfer and delivery on model behavior. Finding of this study is that capacity of information infrastructure and size of cyberspace population are key factors of cyberspace growth. Also, reducing time delay in information flow, money flow, and delivery flow is an important policy leverages for growth of electronic commerce.
This paper proposes a three-dimensional haptotaxis model to simulate the migration of the population of cancer cells. The invasion of the cancer cells relates with the hapto- and the effect of the energy between cells and (ECM). The diffuse interface model is employed, which incorporates haptotaxis mechanism and interface energies. The semi-implicit Fourier spectral scheme is adopted for efficient complications. The simulation results reveal rich dynamics of cancer cells migration.
