VLM-ST의 형상정밀도 향상에 관한 연구 (Improvement in Dimensional Accuracy of Transfer-type for Variable Lamination Manufacturing using Expandable Polystyrene Foam)

  • Rapid Prototyping(RP) is an efficient method for rapid design verification and trial manufacturing. In order to improve their unique characteristics according to the working principles. Variable Lamination Manufacturing process and corresponding CAD/CAM system is developed. The objective of this study is to improve dimensional accuracy of VLM-ST process, and it can be done by offset for cutting error correction, cutting path correction for sharp edge and reference shape generation. To verify the proposed algorithms, they applied to three-dimensional shapes, such as spanner and mechanical part.

  • In all Rapid Prototyping (RP) processes, a CAD solid model is sliced ito thin layers of uniform, but not necessarily constant, thickness in the building direction. Each cross-sectional layer is successively deposited and, at the same tim, bonded onto the previous layer; the stacked layers form a physical part of the model. The objective of this study is to develop a methode for calculating the rotational angle(θ/sub x/, θ/sub y/) of the linear hotwire cutting system in the three-dimensional space for the Variable Lamination Manufacturing process using expandable polystyrene foam sheet (VLM-S). In order to examine the applicability of the developed method to VLM-S, various three-dimensional shapes, such s a screw, an extruded cross, and a figure of Sonokong, were made using the data obtaiend from the method.

  • A new effective thick-layered RP process, Transfer-type Variable Lamination Manufacturing using expandable polystyrene foam (VLM-ST) has been developed with thick layers and sloped surfaces. VLM-ST has the innate advantages by virtue of its working principle: high building speed, low cost for introduction and maintenance of VLM-ST apparatus, little staircase surface irregularities of parts. Despite these advantages in VLM-ST, the surface roughness of VLM-ST parts is still inadequate to be used as RP master patterns for rapid tooling (RT). This paper describes the systematic and effective methodology to remove the laminated pattern and improve the surface roughness for VLM-ST parts. From the results of surface finishing of VLM-ST parts, it can be seen that the laminated pattern is completely removed and the surface characteristics such as surface roughness, surface hardness, and paintability are improved.

양생온도 -10℃에서 거푸집 재료 변화에 따른 콘크리트의 압축강도 특성 (Compressive Strength Properties of Concrete by the Form Material Change at 10 below Zero)

  • When the construction in a low temperature, the concrete performance is deteriorated by frost damage at early age. In this study, the form utilizing heating sheet and insulation is measured the performance to prevent frost damage at 10 below zero. It produced five types of the form and to measure the temperature history and compressive strength. At first, form attached heating sheet showed the highest temperature. But the form attached vacuum insulation showed the highest temperature ever since 12hours. In the case of compressive strength, the form attached heating sheet + isopink(polystyrene foam board) showed the highest compressive strength. It was followed by vacuum insulation. As a result, the form utilizing insulation and heating sheet helped to prevent frost damage.

  • 본 논문에서는 화학처리된 페 페인트와 페 스티로폼을 사용한 폴리머 콘크리트를 제작하고 그 기계적 특성을 평가하였다. 또한 골재와 수지재의 조성비 변화에 따른 압축강도, 비중, 흡수율 등을 평가하였다. 실험결과로부터 페 페인트를 사용한 폴리머 콘크리트의 비중은 기존의 폴리머 콘크리트 보다 낮은 값을 가지며, 건축용 외장재로 사용할 수 있을 것으로 판단되었다.

쾌속조형 원리를 이용한 대형 모델의 제작 (Fabrication of a Large Object by Rapid Prototyping Technics)

  • In order to reduce the lead-time and cost, the technology of rapid prototyping(RP) has been widely used. This paper describes the methodology to fabricate a large object by using the principle of rapid prototyping. By laminating thick and sloping polystyrene foam plates, we can make the large model which has three dimensional, continuous surfaces faster and easier than conventional processes. Estimated error was much smaller than other RP products which have stepped effect. For accuracy improvement and post processing, machined metal plates are added between the thick plates. To keep the continuity of surface and strengthen the model, pilot holes and guide rods are applied. By the methodology described in this paper, a missile body with flush air intake was fabricated.

중량 바닥충격음 예측을 위한 진동 전달률 산정 연구 (Assessment of Vibration Transmissibility for Prediction of Heavy Floor Impact Sound)

  • In an apartment buildings, the floor Impact sound from upstairs has been regarded as a main source of noise causing discontentment among occupants. To set the optimum design for sound insulation, it is necessary to suggest the useful tools or technique that predict the floor impact sound. The purpose of this study is to suggest the supplementary formula(equation) and constant k considering vibration transmissibility in order to predict more precisely heavy floor impact sound by Impedance Method that have been briskly studied in Japan from comparing the measured values with the predicted values. The analyzed results had showed that if the damping material was glass wool or rubber, k=5 was proper and if the damping material was polystyrene foam, k>5 was desirable.

  • The paper presents experimental and numerical investigations of prefabricated composite structural building reinforced concrete slabs with the insulating material for a residential building construction. The building slabs were composed of concrete and expanded polystyrene. In experiments, the slabs in the full-scale 1:1 were subjected to vertical concentrated loads and failed along a diagonal shear crack. The experiments were numerically evaluated using the finite element method based on two different constitutive continuum models for concrete. First, an elasto-plastic model with the Drucker-Prager criterion defined in compression and with the Rankine criterion defined in tension was used. Second, a coupled elasto-plastic-damage formulation based on the strain equivalence hypothesis was used. In order to describe strain localization in concrete, both models were enhanced in the softening regime by a characteristic length of micro-structure by means of a non-local theory. Attention was paid to the formation of critical diagonal shear crack which was a failure precursor.

포장방법에 따른 'Sheridan' 포도의 신선도 유지 효과 (Freshness Extension of Table Grape 'Sheridan' by Packaging Methods)

  • EPS 포장상자가 포도의 신선도 유지효과 기능이 있는지의 여부를 조사하고자 'Sheridan' 포도를 포장하여 $25^{\circ}C$에 저장하면서 골판지상자와 0.02와 0.04mm 두께의 LDPE필름, EPS 상자로 포장한 것들과 신선도 유지효과를 비교하였다. 저장 10일후 중량감소는 대조구는 5.7%, EPS 상자는 0.9%의 중량감소가 나타났다. 비타민C는 EPS 포장구가 대조구 보다 15.5%, 산도는 24.4% 높게 유지되고 있었다. 당도는 EPS와 LDPE 포장구가 대조구 보다 약간 낮게 유지되고 있었으며, 곰팡이 발생 등의 부패는 대조구에서는 일부 송이에서 발생했으나 EPS 포장구에서는 발생하지 않았고 품질도 양호해, EPS 포장상자는 일반적인 MA포장재인 LDPE포장과는 신선도가 비슷하게 유지되었으나 대조구인 골판지 상자보다는 품질이 잘 유지되고 있어 EPS 상자를 포도 포장상자로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 확인되었다.

DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION OF A PHANTOM FOR MULTI-PURPOSE DOSIMETRY IN INTENSITY-MODULATED RADIATION THERAPY

  • A LEGO-type multi-purpose dosimetry phantom was developed for intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), which requires various types of challenging dosimetry. Polystyrene, polyethylene, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), and polyurethane foam (PU-F) were selected to represent muscle, fat, bone, and lung tissue, respectively, after considering the relevant mass densities, elemental compositions, effective atomic numbers, and photon interaction coefficients. The phantom, which is composed of numerous small pieces that are similar to LEGO blocks, provides dose and dose distribution measurements in homogeneous and heterogeneous media. The phantom includes dosimeter holders for several types of dosimeters that are frequently used in IMRT dosimetry. An ion chamber and a diode detector were used to test dosimetry in heterogeneous media under radiation fields of various sizes. The data that were measured using these dosimeters were in disagreement when the field sizes were smaller than $1.5{\times}1.5\;cm^2$ for polystyrene and PTFE, or smaller than $3{\times}3\;cm^2$ for an air cavity. The discrepancy was as large as 41% for the air cavity when the field size was $0.7{\times}0.7\;cm^2$, highlighting one of the challenges of IMRT small field dosimetry. The LEGO-type phantom is also very useful for two-dimensional dosimetry analysis, which elucidates the electronic dis-equilibrium phenomena on or near the heterogeneity boundaries.
