Conducting Polymer Material Characterization Using High Frequency Planar Transmission Line Measurement

  • A conducting polymer, poly 3-hexylthiophene (P3HT) is characterized with the metal-insulator-semiconductor (MIS) measurement method and the high frequency planar circuit method. From the MIS measurement method, the relative dielectric constant of the P3HT film is estimated to be 4.4. For the high frequency planar circuit method, a coplanar waveguide is fabricated on the P3HT film. When applying +20 V to the CPW on P3HT film, the P3HT film is in accumulation mode and becomes lossy. The CPW on P3HT film is 1.5 dB lossier than the CPW on $SiO_2$ film without P3HT film at 50 GHz.

  • 망막조직공학을 위한 생체 재료는 기계적 안정성, 생체적합성, 낮은 분해속도 등을 포함하여 in vivo에서 잠재적인 유용성을 위한 몇 가지 중요한 특징이 입증되어야 한다. 실크 필름 생체재료는 이러한 기능적인 요구에 맞게 디자인되었다. 0, 10, 20, 40, 및 80 wt%의 실크가 함유된 천연합성물질과 하이브리드화된 silk/PLGA 필름을 용매 증발법으로 제조하였다. 1, 2, 및 3일 후에 부착된 세포 수를 확인하기 위해 MTT 분석을 하였고 SEM을 통해 필름에 부착된 세포 모폴로지를 확인하였다. 또한, mRNA 발현정도를 알아보기 위해 retinal pigment epithelitun(RPE) 세포의 프라이머인 RPE65를 사용하여 RT-PCR을 실시하였고 RPE 세포의 특정 단백질인 cytokeratin의 발현을 확인하고 세포의 증식을 비교하기 위해 면역화학염색을 실시하였다. 본 실험을 통해 실크/PLGA 필름에서 20~40 wt% 실크를 함유한 경우에 RPE 세포의 부착과 증식에 가장 좋은 영향을 미치는 것을 확인하였다.

  • Electrostrictive polymer is deformed by electric force generated by electric field built by high voltage. Theoretical Optical Waveguide Investigation of Self-Organized Polymer Thin Film Nanostructures with Nanoparticle Incorporation

  • Hybrid thin film nanostructures composed of metal nanoparticles (NPs) and self-assembled polymer films with different spatial distributions of NPs were analyzed by optical waveguide spectroscopy (OWS). Specifically, the dielectric constants were calculated using effective medium theory for the incorporation of 1 vol% Au NP into the block copolymer (BCP) films having a cylindrical nanodomain morphology. Three cases were considered: uniform distribution of NPs in the film; selective distribution of NPs only in the cylindrical domains; and segregation of NPs to the center of the cylindrical domains. The optical waveguide spectra derived from the calculated dielectric constants demonstrate the feasibility of experimentally distinguishing the composite nanostructures with different inner morphologies in the hybrid metal NP-BCP nanostructures, by the measurement of the dielectric constants using OWS.

  • There has been much interest in incorporating nanoscale voids into dielectric materials in order to reduce their k value, and thus in producing low-k porous interdielectric materials. One approach to the development of low-k dielectric materials is the templated polycondensation of organosilicate precursors in the presence of a thermally labile, organic polymeric porogen. The other is SiOCH films have low dielectric constant as well as good mechanical strength and high thermal stability through PECVD. In this article we explore the nanopore generation mechanism of organosilicate film using star-shape porogen and SiOCH film using bis-trimethylsilylmethane (BTMSM) precursor.

  • 망막색소상피(retinal pigment epithelium, RPE)는 시기능을 유지하는데 중요한 역할을 하여 RPE의 퇴화는 여러 망막변성질병을 유발한다. 현재 이에 대한 효과적인 치료법이 부족하여 세포 이식에 적합한 지지체를 제작하기 위해, 생분해성 고분자인 PLGA와 항염증, 항산화 작용 등의 기능이 있는 헤스페리딘을 이용하여 하이브리드 필름을 제조하였다. ARPE-19를 파종한 후, MTT 분석법을 이용하여 세포 증식률을 확인하고, 세포의 부착 및 세포 형태를 SEM을 통하여 확인하였다. 또한 RPE 세포의 특이적 유전자 발현정도를 확인하기 위하여 RT-PCR을 수행하였고, RPE65의 발현을 확인하기 위해 AEC 면역화학적 염색을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 헤스페리딘/PLGA 필름은 PLGA보다 RPE 세포의 부착, 증식 및 표현형 유지가 우수함을 확인하였고, 이를 통해 헤스페리딘/PLGA 필름의 망막재생을 위한 조직공학적 담체로써 응용 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • 범용 고분자 표면에 전도성 부여와 범용 고분자와 전도성 고분자층의 접합력 향상을 목적으로 폴리우레탄 (PU)-graft-poly(acrylic acid)(PAAc)/폴리아닐린(PU-g-AAc/PANI) 복합체 필름을 제조하였다. ATR-FTIR과 XPS분석 결과, 각 처리 절차에 대응하는 특성피크를 관찰하였고, 이를 통하여 각 단계의 실험이 성공적으로 수행되었음을 확인할 수 있었다. 표면저항을 측정한 결과, $2{\times}10^3\;ohm/sq$으로 절연성인 폴리우레탄 필름에 전도도가 부여됨을 알 수 있었고, PU-g-AAc/PANI 필름에서 폴리아닐린에 대한 도판트 역할을 하는 아크릴산의 양이 증가할수록 표면저항은 감소함을 알 수 있었다.

  • We demonstrate here a self-aligned printing approach that allows downscaling of printed organic thin-film transistors to channel lengths of 100 - 400 nm. A perfected down-scaled polymer transistors (L= 200 nm) showing high transition frequency over 1.5 Mhz were realized with thin polymer dielectrics, controlling contact resistance, and minimizing overlap capacitance via self-aligned gate configuration.

  • In this paper, we investigated the relations between dispersion of CNTs (carbon nanotubes) and electrical conductivity in the CNT/PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) composite film. By adding hydrophobic CNTs as filler into the PVDF matrix, we fabricated hydrophobic and electrically conducting polymer coating film. Dispersion of CNTs in the CNT/PVDF composite film plays a significant role in terms of electrical conductivity and wetting property. Spray coating method was used to form the CNT/PVDF composite films by injecting the dispersed CNTs in the PVDF solution with different weight ratios from 0.7 wt% to 7 wt%. We investigated the electrical properties and contact angles of the CNT/PVDF composite films with the CNT concentration. Finally we discussed the conducting mechanism and feasibility of the CNT/PVDF composite film for the conducting polymer films.

  • Encapsulation of organic based devices is essential issue due to easy deterioration of organic material by water vapor. Atomic layer deposition (ALD) is a promising solution because of its low temperature deposition and quality of the deposited film. Moisture permeation has a mechanism to pass through defects, Thin Film Encapsulation using inorganic / organic / inorganic hybrid film has been used as promising technology. $Al_2O_3$ / Polymer / $Al_2O_3$ multilayer film has shown excellent environmental protection characteristics despite of thin thicknesses of the films.
