Passive matrix of p-type SWCNTs and PEI-doped n-type SWCNTs

  • 본 연구에서는 성장된 p-형의 단일벽 탄소 나노튜브 (SWCNT)와 폴리머 코팅으로 n-형 특성을 보이는 SWCNT의 접합으로 pn-접합 소자 어레이를 만들고 특성을 분석한 결과에 대해 발표하고자 한다. Y-cut quartz 기판에 0.1 nm 두께의 철 촉매 패턴을 만들고 화학기상증착법으로 잘 정렬된 SWCNT를 성장시킨 후, 열 박리 테이프 (thermal tape)을 이용하여 정렬된 나노선을 실리콘 옥사이드 기판에 전이한다. 전기적(electrical breakdown)으로 금속성의 나노선을 제거하고 p-형의 나노선 배열을 얻을 수 있다. 이 나노선에 국소적으로 폴리머 (polyethyleneimine: PEI) 코팅을 하여 n-형 특성을 갖는 나노선 패턴을 만들 수 있다. 이를 이용하여 만든 소자는 p-형과 n-형이 하나의 나노선 안에 부분적으로 존재하므로 연결부위의 접촉에 관한 문제가 전혀 없으며 소자를 만들기도 유용하다. 이렇게 준비된 p-형 나노선과 n-형 나노선의 접합에서 정류특성을 관찰하였다. 이러한 passive matrix 소자는 터치패드나 유기발광다이오드와 같은 다양한 소자에 응용 가능하다.

  • In modern science and technology, the organization of building blocks, such as spherical particles and zeolite, is important to form a nanostructure. So, it is essential to develop methods for organizing them into large scale for many precise applications. Up to now, reflux and stirring is widely used method for organization of colloidal particles. However, because this method is hard to organize building block with high coverage and uniform orientation, it is necessary to research another method. In this work, we synthesized spherical silica particles using St$\"{o}$ber method and organized them on the glass which is coated with 3-chloropropyltrimethoxysilane (CP-TMS) and polyethyleneimine (PEI) using Sonication method. Although spherical silica particles are difficult to attach on the glass due to their small attachment site, we improved this problem by coating PEI. We introduced two mode of reaction promotion, sonication (SO) and sonication with stacking between the bare glass (SS), and investigated degree of coverage (DOC) and degree of close packing (DCP).

  • RF 마그네트론 스퍼터링법으로 증착된 Al-doped ZnO 박막을 씨드층으로 하고, zinc nitrate hexahydrate, hexamethylenetetramine (HMTA), ammonium chloride (AC) 및 polyethyleneimine (PEI)를 반응용액으로 한 수열합성법으로 ZnO 나노와이어를 성장시켰다. ZnO 나노와이어의 성장 공정 중 반응 용액내에 DC 바이어스를 인가하고, DC 바이어스의 인가 유무 및 인가 DC 바이어스 전압의 크기 변화에 따라 성장시킨 ZnO 나노와이어의 특성을 비교분석하였다. 다양한 공정변수 변화에 따라 수열합성법으로 성장시킨 ZnO 나노와이어 시편들을 SEM 분석을 통해 특성분석을 수행하였다.

Doxorubicin-loaded PEI-silica Nanoparticles for Cancer Therapy

  • Targeted anticancer drug delivery systems are needed to enhance therapeutic efficacy by selectively delivering drugs to tumor cells while minimizing off-target effects, improving treatment outcomes and reducing toxicity. In this study, a silica-based nanocarrier capable of targeting drug delivery to cancer cells was developed. First, silica nanoparticles were synthesized by the Stöber method using the surfactant cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB). Increasing the ratio of EtOH in the solvent produced uniformly spherical silica nanoparticles. Washing the nanoparticles removed unreacted residues, resulting in a non-toxic carrier for drug delivery in cells. Upon surface modification, the pH-responsive polymer, polyethyleneimine (PEI) exhibited slow doxorubicin release at pH 7.4 and accelerated release at pH 5.5. By exploiting this feature, we developed a system capable of targeted drug release in the acidic tumor microenvironment.

Polyethyleneimine-응축 BMP-2 발현 유전자를 이용한 골형성 효과 (Osteogenic effects of polyethyleneimine-condensed BMP-2 genes in vitro and in vivo)

  • Naked DNA and standard vectors have been previously used for gene delivery. Among these, PEI can efficiently condense DNA and has high intrinsic endosomal activities. The aim of this study is to investigate whether the cationic polycation PEI could increase the transfection efficiency of BMP expressing DNA using a vector-loaded collagen sponge model. BMP-2/pcDNA3.1 plasmid was constructed by subcloning human BMP-2 cDNA into the pcDNA3.1 plasmid vector. PEI/DNA complexes were prepared by mixing PEI and BMP-2/pcDNA3.1 and the constructed complexes were loaded into the collagen sponges. In vitro studies, BMSCs were transfected with the PEI/BMP-2/pcDNA3.1 complexes from collgen sponge. The level of secreted BMP-2 and alkaline phosphatase activities of transfected BMSCs were significantly higher in PEI/BMP-2/pcDNA3.1 group than in BMP-2/pcDNA3.1 group (p<0.05). Transfected BMSCs were cultured and mineralization was observed only in cells treated with PEI/BMP-2/pcDNA3.1 complexes. In vivo studies, PEI/BMP-2/pcDNA3.1/collagen, BMP-2/pcDNA3.1/collagen and blank collagen were grafted in skeletal muscle of nude mice. Ectopic bone formation was shown in PEI/BMP-2/pcDNA3.1/collagen grafted mouse 4 weeks postimplantation, while not in BMP-2/pcDNA3.1 grafted tissue. This study suggests that PEI-condensed DNA encoding for BMP-2 is capable of inducing bone formation in ectopic site and might increase the transfection rate of BMP-2/pcDNA3.1. As a non-viral vector, PEI offers the potential in gene therapy for bone engineering.

전기투석/용매추출 공정에서 멤브레인 표면 개질을 통한 구리 이온의 회수 효율 향상 (Improved Copper Ion Recovery Efficiency through Surface Modification of Membranes in the Electrodialysis/Solvent Extraction Process)

  • 본 연구는 전기투석과 용매추출을 융합한 희유금속 회수 공정에서 분리막과 음이온교환막의 개질을 통해 유기상과 수상에 대한 분리막의 낮은 젖음성 및 AEM을 통한 수소이온 투과로 인한 금속이온의 회수 효율 감소를 개선하였다. 구체적으로, 분리막 표면 중 한면은 polydopamine (PDA) 통한 친수성 개질, 다른 면은 SiO2 또는 graphene oxide를 통한 친유성개질을 함으로써 분리막의 젖음성을 개선하였다. 또한, 음이온교환막의 표면을 polyethyleneimine, PDA, poly(vinylidene fluoride) 등을 이용, 개질해 수분 흡수(Water uptake) 감소 및 기공구조 변화를 통해 수소이온 수송을 억제해 수소이온 투과를 억제할 수 있다. 개질된 막 표면 형상과 화학적 특성 및 조성은 주사전자현미경과 푸리에변환 적외선 분광법을 통해 확인되었고, 이를 구리 이온 회수 시스템에 적용해 향상된 추출 및 탈거 효율과 수소이온 수송 억제능을 확인하였다.

Effect of the surface modification using MWCNTs with different L/D by two different methods of deposition on the IFSS of single carbon fiber-epoxy resin composite

  • Multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) with two different (L/D) aspect ratios ($7{\pm}2{\mu}m/140{\pm}30nm$ and $0.5-2{\mu}m/8-15nm$) were surface treated using nitric acid ($HNO_3$) and polyethyleneimine (PEI) prior to their deposition on carbon fibers (CF). Before the hierarchical reinforcement with CF-MWCNT, the CFs were treated with 3-glycidoxypropyltrime-thoxysilane, a coupling agent (Z6040) and with poly(amidoamine) (PAMAM) a dendrimer containing an ethylenediamine core and amine surface groups. The MWCNT were deposited on the CF using two methods, by electrostatic attraction and by chemical reactions. The changes in the CF surface morphology after the MWCNT deposition were analyzed using SEM, which revealed a higher density and uniform coverage for the PAMAM-treated CF and the short MWCNTs. The interfacial adhesion of the composite materials was evaluated using the single fiber fragmentation technique. The results indicated an improvement in the interfacial shear strength with the addition of the short-MWCNTs treated with acid solutions and grafted onto the surface of the CF fiber using electrostatic attraction.

다기능성화된 산화아연/그래핀 양자점 단분자층을 이용한 태양전지

  • 반전형 폴리머 태양전지는 그 구조에 의하여 훌륭한 안정성을 가질 뿐만 아니라 roll-to-roll 공정을 통한 대량생산이 가능하여 각광받고 있는 구조이다. 이런 반전형 구조에서, 금속 산화물 나노파티클에 의해 만들어지는 금속 산화물 층은 전자수송층으로서 사용된다. 이 연구에서는 표면개질 물질인 PEIE (Polyethyleneimine-ethoxylate)와 화학적으로 기능화된 산화아연/그래핀 핵/껍질 양자점을 이용하여 전기수송층의 역할을 하는 기능화된 산화아연/그래핀 단분자층을 가지는 태양전지를 제작하였다. 이는 기능화된 산화아연/그래핀 단분자층이 표면개질, 광센서, 전기수송층의 역할을 동시에 수행하는 효과로 인해 제작된 태양전지는 향상된 전자 수집능력을 보였다. 단분자층이 잘 형성되어 있는지 확인하기 위하여 집속 이온 빔 장비를 이용하여 태양전지의 내부 구조를 확인하였으며, density functional theory (DFT)을 이용한 모델링을 통하여 기능화된 산화아연/그래핀 양자점의 전자상태밀도를 분석하였다. 기능화된 산화아연 단분자층에 의한 효과적인 계면 제어 및 전하수송에 의해 약 10.3%의 높은 효율을 가지는 반전형 폴리머 태양전지를 제작할 수 있었다.

  • Phosphorylation and glycosylation are two of the most important and widespread post-translational modifications (PTMs) in an organism. Proteomics analysis of the PTMs has been challenged by low stoichiometry of the modified proteins and suppression effects by high abundance proteins, typically no-functional house-keeping proteins. In this study, a novel method was applied for not only isolating PTM peptides from intact peptides but also concurrently characterizing of glyco- and phosphoproteome using electrostatic repulsion hydrophilic interaction chromatography (ERLIC) packed with silica coated by crosslinked polyethyleneimine. For 2 mg tryptic digest of mouse proteome of epicardial adipose tissue with fat diet, 802 N-glycosylated peptides of 316 glycoproteins and 159 phosphorylated peptides of 75 phosphoproteins were identified using HPLC chip/quadrupole time-of-flight (Q-OF) tandem mass spectrometer.

신문지 생산공정의 Deposit 제어를 위한 Fixing Agent의 선정에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Screening of Fixing agent for Deposit Control of ONP Stock)

  • A new testing method named pitch deposit tester (PDT) was developed by KRICT in order to evaluate the deposit potential of micro-stickies. The new method involves depositing the potential pitch particles on the air bubble covered plastic film set in the pitch deposit tester (PDT) and analysing the deposited area by an image analyzer. In this study, the effect of fixing agents on potential pitch deposition was elucidated. The effects of some fixing agents (polyamine and polyethyleneimine) on pitch control were investigated by the PDT test of 100% recycled newsprint stock. The study suggested that proper use of the PEI can lead to better pitch control than that of polyamine. The efficiency of novel screening method using the PDT and retention and drainage analyser (RDA) for fixing agents in terms of retention and deposit contamination could be confirmed by above mentioned results.
