  • Joining thin aluminum alloy is difficult using most wilding techniques. Many of problems associated burn-through by the high heat input Common welding techniques are TIG, MIG, and MIG-PULSE welding. The VP-GMAW provides more control of the heat balance in the voiding arc by taking advantage of the different arc characteristics obtained with each of the two polarities. In this paper, we proposed new VP_GMA Welding method by control DSP 320C32, and the characteristic and experiment result-voltage, current, welding bead. penentraion by this method are presented

  • A special discharge cell containing a free conducting particle was used to generate the discharges in $SF_6$. The analog bandwidth of the measurement system exceeded 5 GHz. The measured signals were processed to compensate for the response of the measurement system. The discharge current rise time was in the range of 70 ps, while its full-width half-maximum was 120 ps. Single and double current pulses of positive and negative polarities were measured. Likewise, these pulses were compared with the measurement obtained using a conventional partial discharge detector of the IEC60270 type

  • This paper deals with the prebreakdown phenomena of $SF_{6}$ gap stressed by non-oscillating and oscillating impulse voltages in a strong inhomogeneous field disturbed by a fred needle shaped-protrusion on the earth-side electrode. The breakdown voltage-time characteristics were measured for both positive and negative polarities and over the gas pressure range of 0.1∼0.5 MPa, and the temporal developments of the 77breakdown were observed by a shunt of 50 n. The dependence of the leader stopping time on the gas pressure were obtained. The local field enhancement due to the space charges, which is produced by the streamer corona, has influence with the electrical breakdown of the test gap. The test streamer corona is oxy a necessary condition for the electrical breakdown and the subsequent ionization activities launch the leader at the local field region.

  • Solvatochromic fluorescence behavior of 8-aminoquinoline based benzothiazole derivative in varying solvent systems has been investigated. Benzothiazole appended 8-aminoquinoline 3 showed distinctive fluorescence color changes depending upon the solvent polarities and the fluorescence color changes occurred over relatively wide span in visible region from 486 nm to 598 nm which can be detected with naked eye. Compound 3 also exhibited significant spectral shifts in ${\lambda}_{em}$ as a function of water composition in binary aqueous solvent systems. The changes are due to the specific interaction of 3 by hydrogen bonding with water as well as general solvent effect. The observed solvatochromic fluorescence characteristics of 3 could be used as a new probe for the micro-environmental polarity changes as well as a sensitive sensor for the determination of water composition in binary aqueous solutions.

  • FTIR spectroscopy has been employed to investigate the variation of anion-water hydrogen bonding in 1-butyl 3-methyl imidazolium tetrafluoroborate ([Bmim][$BF_4$]) ionic liquid caused by addition of organic co-solvents with various polarities. The variation was estimated by probing band shape and intensity of the OH stretching vibration of trace water present in ionic liquid at $3400-3800cm^{-1}$. The presence of polar aprotic co-solvent in ionic liquid dramatically reduces the absorptivity of the OH stretch band, indicating that the co-solvent changes the nature of anion-water hydrogen bond drastically, which might be responsible for the reduction of the viscosity of ionic liquid in the presence of the co-solvent.

  • The emergence of a magnetic flux tube (flux emergence) is a process of transporting magnetic field from the solar interior to the atmosphere. This process naturally produces bipolar structure at the surface, in which emerging field lines simply connect opposite polarities, while observations suggest that the surface distribution of magnetic field is more complicated than a simple bipole. This study is aimed at solving this apparent mismatch between the model and observations, showing how the surface distribution changes from a simple bipolar distribution to a quadrupolar-like one, where a half-turn rotation of the polarity inversion line plays an important role. We explain the physical reason of this half-turn rotation and also discuss a possible configuration of filament magnetic field in terms of the quadrupolar-like structure formed via flux emergence.

  • A Superconducting Rotary Machine (SRM) is characterized by an air-cored machine with its rotor iron and stator iron teeth removed. For this reason, the SRM is featured by 3D magnetic flux distribution, which decreases in the direction of axis. Therefore, 3D magnetic field analysis method is required to know about characteristic of magnetic field distribution of SRM. In this paper, 3D flux distribution of SRM is calculated by analytical method. The magnetic field distribution of the field coils is calculated by Biot-Savart equation. The magnetic core is represented by magnetic surface polarities. This paper describes the combined use of above methods for the total field computation, and compares results of analytical method and 3D FEM(Finite Element Method).

  • In order to establish the usefulness of ultrasonic techniques for detecting corona discharges in high-voltage power apparatus, it is first necessary to determine the relationship between electrical and ultrasonic signals of corona discharges in air. In this paper, various characteristics of ultrasonic signal detection for point-to-plane corona discharges using a 200[kHz] ultrasonic sensor are examined. In regard to the attenuation and directivity of ultrasonic signals, the signals were inversely proportional to the distance between corona sources and ultrasonic receiving sensors, and half attenuation angles were approximately 7.0 degree. Ultrasonic signals of positive polarities were first obserbed at corona inception voltages. and the signals were increased with increasing the applied voltages.

  • In this paper, the imparct of X-ray and plasma process-induced-damages to La doped Lead Zirconate Titanate (PLZT, (Pb1-xLa)(Zr0.5Ti0.5)O3) capacitor characteristics have been investigated from the viewpoint of gigabit scale dynamic random access memory (DRAM) applications. Plamsa damage causes asymmetric degradation on hysteresis characteristics of PLZT films. On the other hand, X-ray damage results in a symmetrical reduction of charge storage densities (Qc's) for both polarities. As La concentration increases in the films, the radiation hardness of PLZT films on X-ray and plasma exposures is improved. It is observed that the damaged devices are fully recovered by thermal annealing under oxygen ambient.

  • Isolated single pancreatic acinar cells have long been used as a good model for studying many kinds of signaling processes due to their good structural and functional polarities without a significant validation. In this study, we have examined morphological and functional changes of the dissociated single pancreatic acinar cells by imaging cytosolic Ca$\^$2+/ concentration, exocytosis of granules, and by observing their shapes with confocal microscopy.
