수평급수배관 내에서의 비정상 열성층유동 및 열전달 (Unsteady Thermal Stratified Flow and Heat Transfer in a Horizontal Feedwater Pipe)

  • In this paper, the unsteady state calculational model is proposed for the thermal stratification analysis in the feedwater line of the PWR plant. By defining dimensionless parameters in the two-dimensional polar coordinate system and applying SIMPLE algorithm, the temperature and flow profiles due to the thermal stratification are obtained. Base on the fact that the most significant condition occurs when the fluid temperature difference between the piping ends reaches as high as 166.deg. C, the present result shows that max. Dimensionless temperature difference of 0.6 (about l00.deg. C) obtained between hot and cold sections of pipe wall at dimensionless time 47.0.

POM/MICOM Inter-Comparison in Modeling the East Sea Circulation

  • A model-to-model comparison is attempted between Princeton Ocean Model (POM) and Miami Isopycnic Coordinate Ocean Model (MICOM) as a first step to extend our knowledge of models' performances in studying the East Sea circulation. The two models have fundamentally different numerical schemes and boundary conditions imposed on these models are not exactly the same each other. This study indicates that MICOM has a critical weak point in that it does not reproduce the shallow surface currents properly while it handles the thermohaline processes and associated movements of intermediate and deep waters efficiently. It is suggested that the mixed layer scheme needs to be modified so that it can match with inflow boundary conditions in order to reproduce the surface currents properly in MICOM. POM reproduces the surface current pattern better than MICOM, although the surface currents in POM appear to undergo the unrealistic seasonal variation and have exaggeratedly large vertical scale. These defects seem to arise during the process of adapting POM to the East Sea, and removing these defects is left as a future task.

  • A zonal embedded grid technique has been developed for computation of the two-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations with cylindrical coordinates. The fundamental idea of the zonal embedded grid technique is that the number of azimuthal grids can be made small near the origin of the coordinates so that the grid size is more uniformly distributed over the domain than with the conventional regular-grid system. The code developed using this technique combined with the explicit, finite-volume method was then applied to calculation of the spin-up flows within a semi-circular cylinder. It was shown that the numerical results were in good agreement with the experimental results both qualitatively and quantitatively.

  • In recent, Kalman filter technique has been much used as one of technique for tracking of the moving target. But some problem are still remained to be resolved. For example, when Kalman filter technique is applied to nonlinear system, the technique is nonoptimal estimator. Therefore, extended Kalman filter is proposed to reduce modeling error for nonlinear system. In this study, an extended Kalman filter in Cartesian coordinates is described for moving target, when the radar sensor measures range, azimuth and elevation angle in polar coordinates. And an approximate gain computation algorithm is proposed. In this approach, Kalman gains are computed for three uncoupled filter and multiplied by a Jacobian transformation determined from the measured target position and orientation.

  • This paper presents a simple method for evaluating of voltage stability using the line flow equation. Line flow equations ($P_{ij}$, $Q_{ij}$) are comprised of state variable, $V_i$, ${\delta}_i$, $V_j$ and ${\delta}_j$, and line parameter, r and x. Using the feature of polar coordinate, these becomes one equation with two variables, $V_i$ and $V_j$. Moreover, if bus j is slack or generater bus, which is specified voltage magnitude, it becomes one equation with one variable $V_i$, that is, may be formulated with the second-order equation for $V_i^2$. Therefore, multiple load flow solutions may be obtained with simple computation, and the formulated equation used for approximately evaluating of voltage stability limit considering line flow sensitivity. The proposed method was validated to 2-bus and IEEE 6-bus system.

  • 본 연구에서는 원형 박판 구조물의 안정성에 대하여 해석 하였다. 임계하중은 하중을 점차적으로 증가하여 구조물이 파괴가 발생하여 안정성을 상실 하는 상태에서 가장 작은 하중을 의미한다. 판구조의 안정성을 임계하중의 크기로 기초를 두고 해석 하였다. 원형 박판구조의 차분해석은 일반 판구조와 같으므로 최근에 많은 연구의 대상이 되어왔다. 차분법은 복잡한 구조물에서도 물론, 다양한 경계조건을 포함하는 문제에 이르기까지 효과적인 수치방법이다. 본 연구에서는 기본 박판구조의 지배방정식을 유도하고 차분화 하여 직접적으로 접근하였다. 원 둘레 의 지점이 힌지 받침으로, 등분포 하중을 받고 있는 박판을 기하학적 비선형 해석으로 수행하여 원형 박판의 처짐 및 응력을 해석 하였다.

  • This paper deals with characteristic analysis of double sided permanent magnet linear generator using analytical method. We derived magnetic field solutions produced by permanent magnet and armature reaction based on the 2D polar coordinate and magnetic vector potential. based on the derived magnetic field solutions, Induced voltage is obtained when arbitrary sinusoidal input condition. In addition, electrical parameters such as back-EMF constant, resistance, and inductance are obtained. Finally, generating performance characteristic at the rated load and various load is examined by using equivalent circuit.

  • This paper deals with analysis of a 3-phase high speed machine with diametrically magnetized rotor. The field equations due to magnet and stator windings are established in terms of vector potential and 2-d polar coordinate systems and then, characteristic equation of torque and back emf are derived by using field equations. Finally, this paper predicts open-circuit field, armature reaction field distributions, field distributions on load, torque and back emf distributions from those of equations. Results are compared with predictions from corresponding finite element analyses.

  • This paper deals with the electromagnetic field analysis of slotless brushless permanent magnet machines with three different magnetization patterns such as Halbach, parallel and radial magnetization. The magnetization modeling of Halbach, parallel and radial magnetization is performed analytically. And then, analytical solutions for open-circuit field distributions, armature reaction field distributions, flux linkages due to PMs and stator windings, torque, back-emf and inductance are derived in terms of magnetic vector potential and two-dimensional (2-d) polar coordinate systems. The analytical results are validated extensively by finite element (FE) analyses. The magnet volume required in order to produce identical flux density is compared with each magnetization. Finally, analytical solutions and derivation procedures of those presented in this paper can be applied to slotless and slotted brushless permanent magnet AC and DC machines.

각 연산을 이용한 픽셀 당 변위 매핑 (Per-Pixel Displacement Mapping Using Angular Operations)

  • 본 논문에서는 극 좌표계에서의 벡터 표현 방식을 이용한 per-pixel displacement mapping 방법을 제시한다. per-pixel displacement mapping은 triangle mesh의 처리 방식에 상관없이 변위매핑을 수행할 수 있도록 한 것으로, 2차원 screen space로 projection 된 triangle의 각 pixel의 위치를 객체 표면 정보에 따라 displacement 해주는 방법이다. 이는 기 검증된 범프매칭 하드웨어에 약간의 하드웨어를 추가함으로써 변위매핑을 수행할 수 있도록 한 효과적인 구조이다. 제안 방식에 의해 생성된 영상과 기존 방식에 의해 생성된 영상을 비교해본 결과, 시각적으로 거의 차이가 없음을 알 수 있다.
