The flash point is one of the most important combustible properties used to determine the potential for the fire and explosion hazards of industrial material and the fire point is the temperature of the flammable liquid at which there will be flaming combustion, sustained 5 seconds in response to the pilot flame. In this study, the flash point and fire point were measured to present raw data of the flammable risk assessment for alcohols, using Tag open-cup apparatus(ASTM D 1310-86). The measured values were compared with the calculated values based on 0.78 times stoichiometric concentration. The values calculated by the proposed equations were in good agreement with the measured values.
The existence of the equivalent point for a thermal processing system was demonstrated using arbitrarily chosen ideal direct heating curves. i.e. isothermal heating curves at $120^{\circ}C$ for 10min and at $135^{\circ}C$ for 10sec. Under these conditions, G-values and F-values were calculated at various values of Ea- and z-values by applying the Arrhenius and the Bigelow models respectively. The equivalent time and equivalent temperature were determined by both line intersection and linear regression methods. The equivalent points estimated by both the line intersection and the linear regression methods were consistent and their values were the same as the heating time and temperature of the ideal direct heating curves.
A two-direction multiscaling function ${\phi}$ satisfies a recursion relation that uses scaled and translated versions of both itself and its reverse. This offers a more general and flexible setting than standard one-direction wavelet theory. In this paper, we investigate how to find and normalize point values and derivative values of two-direction multiscaling and multiwavelet functions. Determination of point values is based on the eigenvalue approach. Normalization is based on normalizing conditions for the continuous moments of ${\phi}$. Examples for illustrating the general theory are given.
It is very difficult to measure the fluid viscosity at the critical point, there are seldom found experimental values of fluid viscosity at the critical point. Few theories can explain the critical viscosity quantitatively. A theory of viscosity previously proposed by authors10 is applied to the fluid at the critical point. This theory can be simplified as a simple form with no adjustable parameters, allowing for easy calculation. Viscosities at the critical point for some substances have been calculated, and calculated results are satisfactory when compared with the observed values.

This paper proposes a new COA (center of area) defuzzifier that is working in the accurate and fast manner. The proposed COA defuzzifier involves both membership values and the spans of membership functions in clauclating a crisp value. In additon, it avoid division by replacing the COA calculation with the searching of the momentum equilibrium point. The moment equilibrium point is searched in the coarse-to-fine manner such that the moment computing points during the coarse searching are moved in the interval of fuzzy terms until they are reached at two adjacent fuzzy terms searching method accerlates the finding of the moment equilibrium point by O(M) mazimally when compared iwth the equal interval searching method of ruitz. In order to verify the accuracy of the proposed COA defuzzifier, the crisp values obtained form the proposed coarse-to-fine searching are compared with the precise crisp values from the arithmetic calculation. Application to the truck backer-upper control problem of the proposed COA defuzzifier is presented. The control performance is compared with that of the conventional COA defuzzifier in tems of the average tracing distance.
We obtain a Chandrabhan type fixed point theorem for a multimap having a non-compact domain and a weakly closed graph, and taking convex values only on a quasi-convex subset of Hausdorff locally convex topological vector space. We introduce the definition of Chandrabhan-set and find a sufficient condition for every countably condensing multimap to have a relatively compact Chandrabhan-set. Finally, we establish a new version of Sadovskii fixed point theorem for multimaps.

Fuzzy information retrieval which uses the concept of fuzzy relation is able to retrieve documents in the way based on not morphology but semantics, dissimilar to traditional information retrieval theories. Fuzzy information retrieval logically consists of three sets : the set of documents, the set of terms and the set of queries. It maintains a fuzzy relational matrix which describes the relationship between documents and terms and creates a thesaurus with fuzzy relational product. It also provides the user with documents which are relevant to his query. However, there are some problems on building a thesaurus with fuzzy relational product such that it has big time complexity and it uses fuzzy values to be processed with flating-point. Actually, fuzzy values have to be expressed and processed with floating-point. However, floating-point operations have complex logics and make the system be slow. If it is possible to exchange fuzzy values with binary values, we could expect sp eding up building the thesaurus. In addition, binary value expressions require just a bit of memory space, but floating -point expression needs couple of bytes. In this study, we suggest a new method of building a thesaurus, which accelerates the operation of the system by pre-applying an ${\alpha}$-cut. The experiments show the improvement of performance and reliability of the system.
The flash points and the fire points are one of the most important combustible properties used to determine the potential for the fire and explosion hazards of flammable substances. In this study, the flash points of aromatic hydrocarbons, were measured by using Pensky-Martens Closed Cup apparatus(ASTM-D93) and Tag Open-Cup apparatus(ASTM D 1310-86). Also the fire points of aromatic hydrocarbons, were measured by using Tag Open-Cup apparatus. The measured flash points were in good agreement with reference values. The measured fire points compared with the estimated values based on 1.23 times stoichiometric concentration. The values calculated by the proposed equation were in agreement with measured values.
The development of a variety of methods like AM1, PM3, PM5 and DFT now allows the calculation of atomic and molecular properties with high precision as well as the treatment of large molecules with predictive power. In this paper, these methods have been used to calculate a number of quantum chemical descriptors (like Klopman atomic softness in terms of $E_n^{\ddag}\;and\;E_m^{\ddag}$, chemical hardness, global softness, electronegativity, chemical potential, electrophilicity index, heat of formation, total energy etc.) for 75 alkanes to predict their boiling point values. The 3D modeling, geometry optimization and semiempirical & DFT calculations of all the alkanes have been made with the help of CAChe software. The calculated quantum chemical descriptors have been correlated with observed boiling point by using multiple linear regression (MLR) analysis. The predicted values of boiling point are very close to the observed values. The values of correlation coefficient ($r^2$) and cross validation coefficient ($r_{cv}^2$) also indicates the generated QSPR models are valuable and the comparison of all the methods indicate that the DFT method is most reliable while the addition of Klopman atomic softness $E_n^{\ddag}$ in DFT method improves the result and provides best correlation.
The flash point is one of the most important indicators of the flammabiliy of liquid solutions. The flash point is the lowest temperature at which there is enough concentration of flammable vapor to form an ignitable mixture with air. In this study the flash points of binary flammable solutions, 2-propanol+propionic acid and n-hexanol+formic acid systems, were measured using Seta flash closed cup tester. Particularly n-hexanol+formic acid system exhibited minimum flash point behavior. The measured values were compared with the calculated values using Raoult's law and optimization method. The calculated data by optimization method described the measured values more effectively than those calculated by Raoult's law.
