  • Hawkes process is a self-exciting simple point process with clustering effect whose jump rate depends on its entire past history. We consider Hawkes processes with uniform immigrants which is a special case of the Hawkes processes with renewal immigrants. We study the limit theorems for Hawkes processes with uniform immigrants. In particular, we obtain a law of large number, a central limit theorem, and a large deviation principle.

  • In this paper we present a probabilistic approach for the estimation of realistic error bounds appearing in the execution of basic algebraic floating point operations. Experimental results are carried out for the extended product the extended sum the inner product of random normalised numbers the product of random normalised ma-trices and the solution of lower triangular systems The ordinary and probabilistic bounds are calculated for all the above processes and gen-erally in all the executed examples the probabilistic bounds are much more realistic.

  • The manufacturing of a metal bellows consists of the four main forming processes; deep-drawing, ironing, tube bulging and folding. Among these, the bulging and folding processes are critically important because the quality of metal bellows is greatly influenced by the forming conditions of these processes. In the present study, the finite element analysis technique is applied to the bulging and folding processes. The springback analysis is also called out. From the analysis results, it has been revealed that around the crown point the stress state is in one-directional tension and one-directional bending mode. Meanwhile, around the inner point of metal bellows it is in two-directional bending mode. It has also revealed that the thickness of metal bellows around the crown point is nearly uniform.

  • We propose an algorithm which processes the floating-point $n_{addition}$traction and rounding in parallel. It also processes multiplication and rounding in the same way. The hardware model is presented that minimizes the delay time to get results for all the rounding modes defined in the IEEE Standards. An unified method to get the three bits(L, G, S)for the rounding is described. We also propose an unified guide line to determine the 1-bit shift for the post-normalization in the Floating-point $n_{addition}$traction and multiplication.

  • In laser surface hardening processes, the geometrical parameters such as the depth and the width of a hardened layer can be utilized to assess the hardened layer quality. However, accurate monitoring of the geometrical parameters for on-line process control as well as for on-line quality evaluation is very difficult because the hardened layer is formed beneath a material surface and is not visible. Therefore, temperature monitoring of a point of specimen surface has most frequently been used as a process monitoring method. But, a hardened layer depends on the temperature distribution and the thermal history of a specimen during laser surface hardening processing. So, this paper describes the estimation results of the geometric parameters using multi-point surface temperature monitoring. A series of hardening experiments were performed to find the relationships between the geometric parameters and the measured temperature. Estimation results using a neural network show the enhanced effectiveness of multi-point surface temperature monitoring compared to one-point monitoring.

  • Recently, direct rolling process has been drawing increasing interests because production cost be greatly reduced by eliminating subsequent hot rolling processes. Such a process has been characterized to prosuce thin steel strip (thickness 1~5mm) directly from molten metal and to skip over the conventional hot rolling processes. However, since there are several process parameters, which affect the quality of product, and their relationship between the parametersare very complex,it is therefore very difficult to realize the process design and the quality control. To overcome these difficulties quantitative relationship between the parameters are investigated through a numerical analysis. Form these results, it is found that solidification final point is the most important paramter which is critical to quality of the strip. Also, the multiple regression model is obtianed to determine their relationship from the solidification final point and roll separating force which can be easily estimated

  • PID control is widely used to control stable processes, however, PID control for unstable processes is less common. In this paper, systematic tuning methods are derived to tune the PID controller for unstable FOPTD(Forst Order Plus Time Delay) processes. The proposed PID controllers for set-point tracking and disturbance rejection problem are tuned based on minimizing the performance indexes (IAE, ISE, ITAE) using a real-coded genetic algorithm. Simulation example is given to illustrate the set-point tracking and disturbance rejection performance of the proposed method.

  • Reverse engineering technology refers to the process that creates a CAD model of an existing part using measuring devices. Recently, non-contact scanning devices have become more accurate and the speed of data acquisition has increased drastically. However, they generate thousands of points per second and various types of point data. Therefore, it becomes a major issue to handle the huge amount and various types of point data. To generate a CAD model from scanned point data efficiently, these point data should be well arranged through point data handling processes such as data reduction and segmentation. This paper proposes a new point data handling method using 3D grids. The geometric information of a part is extracted from point cloud data by estimating normal values of the points. The non-uniform 3D grids for data reduction and segmentation are generated based on the geometric information. Through these data reduction and segmentation processes, it is possible to create CAD models autmatically and efficiently. The proposed method is applied to two quardric medels and the results are discussed.

  • Laboratories and industrial processes typically involve the use of flammable substances. An important property used to estimate fire and explosion risk for a flammable liquid is the flash point. In this study, flash point data at 101.3 kPa were determined using a SETA closed cup flash point tester on the following solvent mixtures: {2,2,4-trimethylpentane + methylcyclohexane}, {2,2,4-trimethylpentane + ethylbenzene}, and {2,2,4-trimethylpentane + p-xylene}. The purpose of this work is to obtain flash point data for binary mixtures of 2,2,4-trimethylpentane with three hydrocarbons (methylcyclohexane, ethylbenzene, and p-xylene), which are representative compounds of the main aromatic hydrocarbon fractions of petroleum. The measured flash points are compared with the predicted values calculated using the GE models' activity coefficient patterns: the Wilson, the Non-Random Two-Liquid (NRTL), and the UNIversal QUAsiChemical (UNIQUAC) models. The non-ideality of the mixture is also considered. The average absolute deviation between the predicted and measured lower flash point s is less than 1.99 K, except when Raoult's law is calculated. In addition, the minimum flash point behavior is not observed in any of the three binary systems. This work's predicted results can be applied to design safe petrochemical processes, such as identifying safe storage conditions for non-ideal solutions containing volatile components.

  • Many authors[3][4][5] constructed and examined some processes for the fixed point of strictly pseudocontractive mapping in various Banach spaces. In fact the fixed point of strictly pseudocontractive mapping is the zero of strongly accretive operators. So the same processes are used for the both circumstances. Reich[3] proved that Mann-iteration precess can be applied to approximate the zero of strongly accretive operator in uniformly smooth Banach spaces. In the above paper he asked whether the fact can be extended to other Banach spaces the duals of which are not necessarily uniformly convex. Recently Schu[4] proved it for uniformly continuous strictly pseudocontractive mappings in smooth Banach spaces. In this paper we proved that Mann-iteration process can be applied to approximate the fixed point of strictly pseudocontractive mapping in certain Banach spaces.
