This paper presents an improved interpolation algorithm which enables to find a unit function in $H^{\infty}$. From the proposed algorithm the interpolation problem on the infinity point with multiplicity can be solved. This is based on the DPL algorithm the acquired unit function has low order and can be directly applied to strong/simultaneous stabilization problem in control systems. Finally, we verify that poles of transfer function of closed-loop system exist in stable region while investgating internal stability.
In this paper, we present a symbolic formulation of the error obtained due to an approximation of a given function by the mixed-interpolating function. Using the proposed symbolic method, we compute the error evaluation operator as well as the error estimation at any arbitrary point. We also present an algorithm to compute an approximation of a function by the mixed interpolation technique in terms of projector operator. Certain examples are presented to illustrate the proposed algorithm. Maple implementation of the proposed algorithm is discussed with sample computations.
A lot of data which are used in environment analysis of air pollution have characteristics that are distributed continuously in space. In this point, the collected data value such as precipitation, temperature, altitude, pollution density, PM10 have spatial aspect. When geostatistical data analysis are needed, acquisition of the value in every point is the best way, however, it is impossible because of the costs and time. Therefore, it is necessary to estimate the unknown values at unsampled locations based on observations. In this study, spatial interpolation method such as local trend surface model, IDW(inverse distance weighted), RBF(radial basis function), Kriging were applied to PM10 annual average concentration of Seoul in 2005 and the accuracy was evaluated. For evaluation of interpolation accuracy, range of estimated value, RMSE, average error were analyzed with observation data. The Kriging and RBF methods had the higher accuracy than others.

A Meshfree is a method used to establish algebraic equations of system for the whole problem domain without the use of a predefined mesh for the domain discretization. A point interpolation method is based on combining radial and polynomial basis functions. Involvement of radial basis functions overcomes possible singularity. Furthermore, the interpolation function passes through all scattered points in an influence domain and thus shape functions are of delta function property. This makes the implementation of essential boundary conditions much easier than the meshfree methods based on the moving least-squares approximation. This study aims to investigate a stress analysis of structural element between a meshfree method and the finite element method. Examples on cantilever type plate and stress concentration problems show that the accuracy and convergence rate of the meshfree methods are high.
The general stereographic projection which maps a point on a sphere with arbitrary radius to a point on a plane stereographically and its inverse projection have the pythagorean-hodograph (PH) preserving property in the sense that they map a PH curve to another PH curve. Upon this fact, for given spatial $C^1$ Hermite data, we construct a spatial PH curve on a sphere that is a $C^1$ Hermite interpolant of the given data as follows: First, we solve $C^1$ Hermite interpolation problem for the stereographically projected planar data of the given data in $\mathbb{R}^3$ with planar PH curves expressed in the complex representation. Second, we construct spherical PH curves which are interpolants for the given data in $\mathbb{R}^3$ using the inverse general stereographic projection.

Interpolator is a very important element in NC machines in that it controls tool path and speed. In this paper, studied were extensive interpolation characteristics of reference pulse method among various interpolation and pulse generation methods. Specifically, processing speed and path error of DDA, SPD and SFG methods were compared and analyzed against line, circle and elipse. As a result, in the point of processing speed, SPD method was found to be the best for line interpolation, SFG method for circle and ellipse, and DDA method was found to be the slowest for all paths. In the point of path error, DDA method was found to have the biggest error for all kinds of paths.
In this paper, we propose a post-processing method through interpolation of hole regions that occur when extracting point clouds. When image matching is performed on stereo image data, holes occur due to occlusion and building façade area. This area may become an obstacle to the creation of additional products based on the point cloud in the future, so an effective processing technique is required. First, an initial point cloud is extracted based on the disparity map generated by applying stereo image matching. We transform the point cloud into a grid. Then a hole area is extracted due to occlusion and building façade area. By repeating the process of creating Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN) triangle in the hall area and processing the inner value of the triangle as the minimum height value of the area, it is possible to perform interpolation without awkwardness between the building and the ground surface around the building. A new point cloud is created by adding the location information corresponding to the interpolated area from the grid data as a point. To minimize the addition of unnecessary points during the interpolation process, the interpolated data to an area outside the initial point cloud area was not processed. The RGB brightness value applied to the interpolated point cloud was processed by setting the image with the closest pixel distance to the shooting center among the stereo images used for matching. It was confirmed that the shielded area generated after generating the point cloud of the target area was effectively processed through the proposed technique.
In standard finite element algorithms, the local stability conditions are not accounted for in the formulation of the tangent stiffness matrix. As a result, the loss of the local stability is not adequately related to the onset of the global instability. The phenomenon typically arises with material-type localizations, such as shear bands and plastic hinges. This paper addresses the problem in the context of the planar, finite-strain, rate-independent, materially non-linear beam theory, although the proposed technology is in principle not limited to beam structures. A weak formulation of Reissner's finite-strain beam theory is first presented, where the pseudocurvature of the deformed axis is the only unknown function. We further derive the local stability conditions for the large deformation case, and suggest various possible combinations of the interpolation and numerical integration schemes that trigger the simultaneous loss of the local and global instabilities of a statically determined beam. For practical applications, we advice on a procedure that uses a special numerical integration rule, where interpolation nodes and integration points are equal in number, but not in locations, except for the point of the local instability, where the interpolation node and the integration point coalesce. Provided that the point of instability is an end-point of the beam-a condition often met in engineering practice-the procedure simplifies substantially; one of such algorithms uses the combination of the Lagrangian interpolation and Lobatto's integration. The present paper uses the Galerkin finite element discretization, but a conceptually similar technology could be extended to other discretization methods.

In this paper, an image coding technique using fractal interpolation is proposed. Similar to the conventional methods, an image is partitioned into blocks and each block is coded independently. However, an interpolation point is ahsared by its neighboring blocks. This means that each block can use all its interpolation points with minimal increase of new data. For a simple implementation, triangular blocks are used instead of square blocks and new coefficients are difined. Data obtained in the encoding process hav estatistical characteristics suitable sfor entropy coding, an dthus arithmetic coding is perfomred for improving the compression efficiency. The results of the proposed coder in comparison with those of a conventional coder show that the interpolation method reduces block effect caused by a memoryless block coder, especially at low bit rates. This improvement is due to sharing of information between adjacent blocks. Moreover, th enumber of iteration required in ecoding process is reduced since more information is used to decode each block.

The objective of this study is to decide a spatial interpolation method on temperature data for the suitability analysis of garlic cultivation. In Korea, garlic is the second most cultivated condiment vegetable after red pepper. Nowadays warm-temperate garlic faces potential shift of its arable area according to warmer temperature in the Korean Peninsula, and the change can be drawn with the precise temperature map derived from interpolation on point-measured data. To find the preferable interpolation method in cases of germination and vegetative period of the garlic, different approaches were tested as follows: Inverse Distance Weighted (IDW), Spline, Ordinary Kriging (OK), and Universal Kriging (UK). As a result, IDW and UK show the lowest root mean square errors as for the germination and vegetative seasons, respectively. However, statistically significant difference was not revealed among the applied methods regarding the germinating period. Eventually this will contribute to mapping the suitable lands for the cultivation of warm-temperate garlic reasonably.
