Online game business has emerged as the most lucrative entertainment Industry, with over 10 million players in South Korea. The popularity of online games can be attributed to the availability of broadband network and the presence of numerous PC Bangs and around the country, which have pushed online games Into the main-stream entertainment culture. The age distribution of online game players is expanding and a variety of new games are under development to target certain age groups. While the interactive entertainment market continues to expand, with many new online game publishers entering the market, relatively little is known about which factors influence online game players' behavioral intentions to play continuously in this area. It appears that in this extremely attractive and growing services segment, academics, as well as practitioners, would benefit from in vestigating the relationships among the players' loyalty, interactivity, the sense of presence and the impacts of several other key game-related constructs. Several types of interaction in on-line games and their relationship with the flow construct are investigated, and the resulting conceptual model is proposed. Based on data collected from online questionnaire survey, the validity of the simultaneous equation model has been tested and interesting conclusions have been developed concerning the relationships between the players' loyalty to the sense of presence, flow, satisfaction and interactions. Other interesting results concerning game development strategy are also provided.

The increasing popularity of the Internet has led to the emergence of online service delivered by websites. Given large investments in these websites, it is important to retain existing customers in online service contexts. In order to understand how website information and system attributes may influence perceived usefulness of using the websites, customer satisfaction, and ultimate continuous usage behaviors, we develop a model to integrate user satisfaction with technology acceptance. Furthermore, this integration is sharpened through the synthesis with research on continuous usage of online service based on customer satisfaction. We then test the model using a sample of 236 respondents who have used one of the most popular Internet blog and community service in South Korea within the last three months. The analysis results suggest that website information and system attributes play key roles in forming continuous intention of the service and perceived playfulness serves as an important moderator toward customer satisfaction. Our model is more likely to help link website design and invesment decisions to the strategy for retaining existing customers in the context of online service.
Physiological cell conditions such as glucose deprivation and hypoxia play roles in the development of drug resistance in solid tumors. These tumor-specific conditions cause decreased expression of DNA topoisomerase $II{\alpha}$, rendering cells resistant to topo II target drugs such as etoposide. Thus, targeting tumor-specific conditions such as a low glucose environment may be a novel strategy in the development of anticancer drugs. On this basis, we established a novel screening program for anticancer agents with preferential cytotoxic activity in cancer cells under glucose-deprived conditions. We recently isolated an active compound, AA-98, from Streptomyces sp. AA030098 that can prevent stress-induced etoposide resistance in vitro. Furthermore, LC-MS and various NMR spectroscopic methods identified AA-98 as mithramycin, which belongs to the aureolic acid group of antitumor compounds. We found that mithramycin prevents the etoposide resistance that is induced by glucose deprivation. The etoposide-chemosensitive action of mithramycin was just dependent on strict low glucose conditions, and resulted in the selective cell death of etoposide-resistant HT-29 human colon cancer cells.
This paper examines the outcomes and tasks of U rail privatization especially focusing on the rail safety. Earlier research which focused on the rail safety had little knowledge of the explanations for recent changes of safety scheme. Moreover, they had difficulty making a direct comparison of safety between national rail and the privatized rail. Therefore we are left without a good explanation which has a comprehensive perspective. I attempt to show the outcomes of safety in the rail privatization process and its tasks focusing on the recent fatal accident. This paper argues that the UK's rail safety has a framework which is too complicated with overlapping responsibilities that brought about inefficiency, increasing costs. Especially infrastructure enterprise did not come to play an appropriate role. However, after 2000, the government took charge of setting the strategy for railway safety, and the Office of Rail Regulation covered safety, performance and cost. I explain that these changes present a good opportunity to solve the problem of passing the buck for rail accident. Through the analysis, I find that outcomes of rail privatization in safety are improved comparing the national rail. However, safety performance, for example the collision of structures of cars and looseness of rail should be improved. In future, the problems of fatal accident and a bit of duplicate safe system should be addressed.
This study classifies the types of visitors to experiential fishing villages and analyses the features and target marketing strategies by categorical groups. Seven factors are extracted by Factor Analysis and the results of Cluster Analysis indicate the classification of five groups. The first group puts emphasis on the family connection, so family centered facilities and programs are necessary. The second group is composed of surrounding area residents whose purpose of visit is unclear. So environmentally friendly village development programs to encourage local patriotism are necessary. The third group puts emphasis on the necessary facilities and programs for experiencing the fishing village and traditional play, etc. The fourth group emphasizes programs related with the region and the means to satisfy visitor's aesthetic desires. Finally, the fifth group aims at various desires that are generally felt in experiential fishing villages. So this group requires marketing strategies from the public point of view. The existing research mostly surveys rural tourism villages, but this study highlights the difference in dealing with fishing villages as opposed to rural villages, from the perspective of industry and settlement.
Sewers are important national infrastructure and play an essential part by handling both wastewater and stormwater to minimise problems caused to human life and the environment. However, they can cause urban flooding when rainfall exceeds the system capacity. Sewer flooding is an unwelcome and increasingly frequent problem in many urban areas, and its frequency will increase over time with urbanisation and climate change. Under current standards, sewers are designed to drain stormwater generated by up to 10 year return period storms, but data suggests that many in practice have been experienced flooding with exceeding system capacity under increased storm events. A large number of studies has considered upgrading or increasing the design standard but there are still lack of information to propose a suitable return period with the corresponding system quantity to achieve. A methodology is required to suggest a proper level of standard within a suitable sewerage rehabilitation planning that can avoid the exceedance problem. This study aimed to develop a methodology to support effective sewer rehabilitation that could prevent urban flooding mainly resulted from the exceedance of existing storm sewer system capacity. Selected sewerage rehabilitation methods were examined under different storm return periods and compared to achieve the best value for money.
Background: Use of spiritual/ religious resources is one important coping strategy for breast cancer patients. However, the relationship between spiritual coping and adjustment to cancer diagnosis has not been well investigated among Iranian breast cancer patients. Materials and Methods: This descriptive-correlational study was undertaken among 266 breast cancer patients referred to two educational centers in north-western Iran. They were selected using a convenience sampling method. The Iranian Religious Coping Scale and Iranian Coping Operations Preference Enquiry were used for data collection. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 13.0. Results: The study findings showed that Iranian cancer patients had a high level of spiritual coping. Also, positive religious coping strategies were used more frequently than negative approaches. In addition, there was a positive and significant correlation between spiritual coping and adjustment to cancer among study participants. Conclusions: Using spiritual coping strategies may play a vital role in adjustment process in patients with breast cancer. Therefore, having spiritual counseling and incorporating coping strategies into the treatment regimen may be effective for enhancing illness adjustment in such patients.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of strategies to promote reporting of errors on nurses' attitude to reporting errors, organizational culture related to patient safety, intention to report and reporting rate in hospital nurses. Methods: A nonequivalent control group non-synchronized design was used for this study. The program was developed and then administered to the experimental group for 12 weeks. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, $\chi^2$-test, t-test, and ANCOVA with the SPSS 12.0 program. Results: After the intervention, the experimental group showed significantly higher scores for nurses' attitude to reporting errors (experimental: 20.73 vs control: 20.52, F=5.483, p=.021) and reporting rate (experimental: 3.40 vs control: 1.33, F=1998.083, p<.001). There was no significant difference in some categories for organizational culture and intention to report. Conclusion: The study findings indicate that strategies that promote reporting of errors play an important role in producing positive attitudes to reporting errors and improving behavior of reporting. Further advanced strategies for reporting errors that can lead to improved patient safety should be developed and applied in a broad range of hospitals.
The problem solving processes of elementary school children who are talented in science have been seldom studied. Researchers often resort to thinking aloud method to collect data of problem solving processes. The major purpose of the study is investigating high ability elementary school students' problem solving processes through the analysis of written responses to science problems in everyday context. 67 elementary students were participated Chungcheongbuk-do Elementary Science Contest held on October, 1997. The written responses of the contest participants to science problems in everyday context were analyzed in terms of problem solving processes. The findings of the research are as follows. (1) High ability elementary students use various concepts about air and water in the process of problem solving. (2) High ability elementary students use content specific problem solving strategies. (3) The problem solving processes of the high ability elementary students consist of problem representation, problem solution, and answer stages. Problem representation stage is further divided into translation and integration phases. Problem solving stage is composed of deciding relevant knowledge, strategy, and info..ins phases. (4) High ability elementary students' problem solving processes could be categorized into 11 qualitatively different groups. (5) Students failures in problem solving are explained by many phases of problem solving processes. Deciding relevant knowledge and inferring phases play major roles in problem solving. (6) The analysis of students' written responses, although has some limitations, could provide plenty of information about high ability elementary students' problem solving precesses.
