A Study on the Dependence of Mobile Instant Messenger (모바일 인스턴트 메신저 의존도에 관한 연구)

  • With the recent establishment of a ubiquitous environment and the paradigm shift to a smart society, the use of mobile devices, such as smart phones and tablet PCs, has become widespread. Thus, the trend is gradually shifting from using Web-based Instant Messenger to using Mobile-based Instant Messenger. Mobile Instant Messenger refers to a service that allows instant messaging as well as data sending and receiving between individuals with exclusive application programs(mobile Apps), which can be used in portable devices-such as smart phones-with wireless Internet access. Korea's portal sites, telecommunication companies, and even big companies have all rushed into the MIM market to join the competition. The reason so many companies are showing interest in the MIM business is because it is rising as a core platform to substitute portal sites in the mobile society, and MIM is perceived as the best means to attract and secure users. The intention to reuse or use continually was considered an important factor in maintaining a dominant position amidst such fierce competition, and consequently, most research thus far has reflected such thought. However, the frequent or long-term use of a system alone cannot indicate the definite success of the system, nor guarantee its dominant position in the market. On the contrary, MIM dependence, which goes beyond simple repetitive use and indicates a state where users actually or emotionally depend on a specific system, can better explain the user action. However, not much research has been conducted on dependence. The research results showed that lively message, concise message, message responsiveness, and social belonging significantly affected perceived usefulness. Message responsiveness, Link, and social belonging significantly affected flow. Flow significantly affected MIM dependence, and perceived usefulness did not affect MIM dependence. This study has proven that lively message, concise message, message responsiveness, Link, social belonging and perceived usefulness are important antecedents and mediating factors of MIM dependence. Moreover, this study is significant in that it explains the overall process of MIM dependence, and expands on the variety and scope of research that can be applied to MIM-related studies.

  • The interaction between wireless sensors such as Internet of Things (IoT) and Cloud is a new paradigm of communication virtualization to overcome resource and efficiency restriction. Cloud computing provides unlimited platform, resources, services and also covers almost every area of computing. On the other hand, Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) has gained attention for their potential supports and attractive solutions such as IoT, environment monitoring, healthcare, military, critical infrastructure monitoring, home and industrial automation, transportation, business, etc. Besides, our virtual groups and social networks are in main role of information sharing. However, this sensor network lacks resource, storage capacity and computational power along with extensibility, fault-tolerance, reliability and openness. These data are not available to community groups or cloud environment for general purpose research or utilization yet. If we reduce the gap between real and virtual world by adding this WSN driven data to cloud environment and virtual communities, then it can gain a remarkable attention from all over, along with giving us the benefit in various sectors. We have proposed a Pub/Sub-based sensor virtualization framework Cloud environment. This integration provides resource, service, and storage with sensor driven data to the community. We have virtualized physical sensors as virtual sensors on cloud computing, while this middleware and virtual sensors are provisioned automatically to end users whenever they required. Our architecture provides service to end users without being concerned about its implementation details. Furthermore, we have proposed an efficient content-based event matching algorithm to analyze subscriptions and to publish proper contents in a cost-effective manner. We have evaluated our algorithm which shows better performance while comparing to that of previously proposed algorithms.

  • A subway platform is equipped with screen doors in oder to avoid accidents of passengers, where Area sensors are installed for detecting obstacles in the screen doors. However, there exist frequent operating errors in screen doors due to dusts, sunlight, snow, and bugs. It is required to develope a detection device which reduces errors and elaborates detection function. In this paper, we compared the detection rates of the Area sensor the 3D sensor using CCTV-based image data with installing sensors at the screen door in Munyang station Daegu, where 3D sensor is applied with the space division multiple detection algorithms. It is measured that the detection rate of 3D sensor and Area sensor is approximately 89.61% and 78.88%, respectively. The results confirmed that 3D senor has higher detection rate compared with Area sensor with the rate of 6.87~9.79%, and 3D sensor has benefit in the aspect of installation fee.

  • Recently, business integration and interoperability of between the heterogeneous applications are requested by rapid growth of web. Web Services that self-contained for platform and programming language is appeared used to XML of standard data format. Such amid Fast Web Services attract attention at fields necessary to bring rapid communication like Mobile and RFID. In this paper, we inquired about ASN.1 of ITU-T and IS0/IEC standard that a central role of data transform. And we studied encoding process of between ASN.1 and XML for transform SOAP massage of a massage transfer mode of Web Services to binary data.

  • This study designed and realized a new type of RFID middle-ware based on .NET Compact Framework platform using PXA255 embedded board and Windows CE as operating system. The proposed embedded RFID middle-ware system controls via LAN a number of RFID sensors using RS-232 as interface and was designed on the basis of components of each function necessary RFID middle-ware. Application module operating in the SOA environment analyzes the data received from the RFID sensors with the embedded RFID middle-ware and in turn performs appropriate business logic. Client module to be used by end users can use RFID information in database, by web method call of application.

  • Kimchi is Korean traditional culinary culture and one of the most representative, Korean cultural archetypes which reflect Korean sentiment and culture. Further, its virtue as a food has drawn attention from all over the world. One thing that you can count as the most important thing in successful cultural content is creative material. Kimchi is a life cultural content with universal quality which is shared with mankind in its culinary culture and originality generated from Korean people and its history. The rich cultural factors of Kimchi, in mental and material aspects, can be a platform for successful content which is globally competitive. Contents of Kimchi culture, which can be applied to various cultural business, has been developed on the basis of its colorful cultural factors. And with the cases used as standards, OSMU type cultural content development process of cultural archetype was suggested. This study was intended to suggest Korean cultural archetype's possibility to be developed into a life cultural content and tried to help building cultural content development process of Korean life cultural archetype.

  • The aim of the study is to look at the impact of 'NPD process planning proficiency' on NPD performance. In particular, the current study examines this effect at firm's level (NPD program), rather than at the level of individual project. This study investigate the impact of process planning proficiency considering other NPD proficiencies (i.e. marketing and technical proficiency). In addition to the main effect of process planning proficiency, the current study investigates the interaction effect between process planning proficiency and marketing proficiency (or technical proficiency). Based on a cross-industry sample of 103 Korean manufacturers, this study examines the impact of NPD process planning proficiency on product family performance. The current study focuses on platform projects which play a critical role on product family's successes. NPD process planning proficiency has significant impact on both NPD technical and commercial performance. Technical proficiency is not directly associated with NPD performance. However, this study finds the interaction effects of technical proficiency with process planning proficiency on NPD performance.

An Empirical Analysis on the Compromised Delivery Model of Traditional Market Using Delivery Application (배달앱을 활용한 전통시장 배송 모형에 관한 실증분석)

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study was to propose a win-win development plan for not only suppliers of delivery applications but also traditional market vendor companies and delivery riders by analyzing existing delivery models and presenting a new delivery model to enhance competitiveness of the traditional market using delivery apps. Research desgin, data, and methodology - Specifically, small retailers, such as traditional markets and supermarkets, presented a compromised delivery model that utilizes the platform of specialized delivery app service providers for order reception, and that the delivery is delivered by delivery systems jointly hired by Vendor companies, such as franchising companies. To validate the significance of the trade-off delivery model, a cost-benefit analysis was conducted by those involved in the delivery application. Results - From the perspective of suppliers of specialized delivery applications, it is analyzed that the use of specialized delivery applications in traditional markets will be a new market opportunity for service providers to achieve increased sales. It is expected that consumer choice and satisfaction will be increased as convenience and accessibility of traditional market businesses that were available only through direct visit from the user side of the delivery application will be expanded. From the standpoint of delivery application franchises, it is analyzed that they can seek to increase sales and increase customer service as well as ease labor cost burden due to joint employment of delivery riders. The delivery rider will be able to seek to improve customer service due to job security, wage stability, risk reduction and overheated competition due to direct employment. Conclusion - In conclusion, the compromised delivery model solved the problems raised in the preceding study conducted on delivery application suppliers, users, franchises, and riders to establish that it could be a strategic alternative to increasing sales and expanding detailed rights for the self-employed in the traditional market, which are experiencing difficulties in management. However, the adoption of a compromise delivery model requires social consensus from those involved in the delivery application and requires legal, institutional and policy support, which will require continued follow-up research on the delivery model in the future.

  • With the aim of creating new economic values and strengthening national competitiveness, governments and major private companies around the world are continuing their interest in big data and making bold investments. In order to collect objective data, such as news, securing data integrity and quality should be a prerequisite. For researchers or practitioners who wish to make decisions or trend analyses based on objective and massive data, such as portal news, the problem of using the existing Crawler method is that data collection itself is blocked. In this study, we implemented a method of collecting web data by addressing existing crawler-style problems using the cloud service platform provided by Amazon Web Services (AWS). In addition, we collected 'gas safety' articles and analyzed issues related to gas safety. In order to ensure gas safety, the research confirmed that strategies for gas safety should be established and systematically operated based on five categories: accident/occurrence, prevention, maintenance/management, government/policy and target.

  • With the introduction of the Cloud Computing, the IT Support organization is facing a new organizational challenge. Especially, the PaaS(Platform as a Service) cloud provisions all of the servers, the network, the storage, the OS, and the middleware installation & configurations without the IT subject experts. This change requires the researches on the new role of the IT Support staff, the collaboration among the skill groups, the conflicts between the IT Support and the Line of Business. But there is no study on this perspective. Hence this paper will study the negative forces against the adoption of the PaaS and the associated organizational changes. This finding can help the IT organization define the new organization structure and the skill set to easy the conflicts, and prepare the transformation for the PaaS adoption.
