  • An economic life test sampling plan for products with exponential lifetime distribution is developed. To reduce test time, a test plan with curtailed Type II censoring is considered. A cost model is constructed which involves three cost components; test cost, accept cost, and reject cost. Determination of optimal plan minimizing the expected average cost per lot is discussed with a constraint related to consumer's risk. Some numerical examples are provided.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze middle-aged salaried workers' retirement plans and the factors that affect the plans. The main point of this study was to compare male workers with female workers on their economic preparation and health care plans. The major findings were as follows; First, middle-aged salaried workers perceived their level of economic retirement plan to be relatively low. Second, the factors the affected the level of economic preparation for post-retirement were their current subjective economic level, age, household assets and debts, economic and health problems expected in their future elderly life, and savings and assets reserved for their elderly life. Third, the factors that affected whether to put aside savings for elderly life or not were age, current subjective economic level, capital assets, and savings and assets reserved for their elderly life. Fourth, the level of preparation for post-retirement health care depended on health problems expected in their elderly life, current subjective economic level, locus of control, job, and expected retirement age. Overall, the factors that affect male salaried workers' economic and health care plans were different from those of female salaried workers. From the findings, it can be concluded that the middle-aged salaried workers' level of economic retirement plans was different from that of their health care plans. Also, male salaried workers' level of retirement plan were different from that of female workers.

  • In this article an economic life test sampling plan is considered for repairable products when the products in each lot have the same interfailure time distribution, but the mean time between failure (MTBF) of a lot varies from lot to lot according to a known prior distribution. A cost model is constructed which consists of test cost, accept cost, and reject cost. Determination of the optimal plan which minimizes the expected average cost per lot is discussed. Numerical examples are presented to illustrate the use of the proposed sampling plans and sensitivity analyses for parameters of the prior distribution are performed.

The research was conducted from the end of February 15 to the beginning of January 20, 2009. The figures obtained were analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, x-test, t-test, F-test, chi-square, and Duncan's F-test with SPSS pc+ The major findings of who study are summarized as follows: l.There were significant differences between the wealth recognition (economic plan affirmative and negative perception of wealth) for women according to social and psychological variables; economic plans have a higher value for married women, older women, those who have followed a postgraduate university course, those with higher income and expenditure, higher life satisfaction, and high and middle satisfaction with their economic life. There were significant differences in the recognition of wealth according to strategies for increasing wealth. There were no significant differences between mean of property acquisition and point of expenditure or the property preparation period in the perception of wealth. The related variables in rate of deposits were under 20% according to economic plan and negative wealth perception. In contrast, in the middle and high group, the economic plan and negative wealth perception were 20%-40% in relation to the rate of deposits. Variables related to the action of saving and thrift and property acquisition were practiced in the low and middle group of affirmative wealth recognition and the high group of negative wealth perception. The high group for wealthrecognition and the low group for wealthnegation exhibited little savings, thrift, and property accumulation. Those variables which point an expenditure the cost of living were education expenditure in all groups of negative wealth perception. The women in the study practiced more soundness economic planning according to their increased wealth and economic strategy. This study suggests that women should have positive wealth perception in their lives.

  • Economic Reliability test plans(ERTP) are proposed considering that the life time of the submitted items follow the Pareto distribution of the second kind. For various specified acceptance number, sample size and producer's risk, a minimum test termination time is obtained. A comparison of proposed plan has been made with the existing plan developed by Aslam et al. (2010). The results are explained by tables and example.

  • This study analyzes the perception of the old age life effects on the preparation for old age plan for veterans who are somewhat isolated from our society in spite of the increasing importance of the old age plan due to the rapid population aging society in Korea. The result of the study shows that meaningful differences in terms of characteristics of sociology of population are rank, level of education, religion, composition of family members in old age life plan in two parts(economic, leisure), whereas only property in physical part has a meaningful difference. That indicates the result was reflected by the character of military. The study on how veterans' perception of the old life affects the old age plan applied two contrasting factors - 'the successful perception of old age life' and 'the perception of expected matters in old age'. That represents those factors(economic, leisure) made positive effects on preparation for old age plan, but not in physical part. 'Expected perception of matters' made regulation effect, but 'success of old age perception' didn't in terms of regulation effect of learning activity as part of the veterans vocational training programs.

  • Present family pattern of Korean society has been changed into nuclear family pattern based on the married couple from traditional expanded family pattern. As the entire social consciousness has been changed into private disposition, the number of independent household for 1 person has increases. Also, as the delivery age of first child became late according to the elongation of average period for the national education, the increment of average age for the first marriage and women's participation in the society, the family pattern of married couple lasts longer than used to be. Like this, considering the family formed period comprised from a household for 1 person to a household for 1married couple and senescence increase, as any response is inevitable for the requirement of residential space where 1~2 dwellers' life can be accepted economic and functionally within smaller scaled space, development and research on a plan system(flexible-typed plan) increasing the degree of freedom is required in developing plan of unit household. In the study for this, considering the change of population and social structure, I suggest the method in developing economic design responding to the differentiation, designing the change of support-system and infill-system based on the systemic comprehension about the residing environment in the family formation period and the research for main life pattern and residing environment in the family formation period in the present city life. I will set (family) composing system, develop basic and mixing typed standard model and establish the stage of applied development for the development of economic design.

  • This paper provides how to establish an integrated plan for LE (life extension) and MD (modernization) of aged hydropower plants. The methodology is developed through review of overseas/domestic LE/MD histories, investigation of the previous overseas methodologies and consideration of domestic practices. The methodology includes reviews of the various factors such as condition, operation and maintenance history, up-to-date technology, and economic benefit. In order to establish the life extension/modernization plan, the methodology is applied to the domestic aged hydropower plants. Finally, priority rankings and draft practice plans for LE/MD are derived.
