  • This paper presents optimal placement of minimal set of phasor measurement units(PMU's) and observability of measurement system with PMU. By using the incidence matrix symbolic method which directly assigns measurement and pseudo-measurement to incidence matrix, it is much simpler and easier to analyze observability. The optimal PMU set is found through the simulated-annealing(SA) and the direct combinational method. The cooling schedule parameter which is suitable to the property of problem to solve is specified and optimal placement is proven by presented direct combinational method. Search spaces are limited within reasonable feasible solution region to reduce a unnecessary one in the SA implementation based on global search. The proposed method presents to save CPU time and estimate state vectors based on optimal PMU set.

  • Crane operation for transporting heavy loads causes swinging motion at the loads. This sway causes the suspension ropes to leave their grooves and leads to possibility of serious damages. Generally crane is operated by expert's knowledge. Therefore, a satisfactory control method to supress object sway during transport is indispensible. The dynamic behavior of the crane shows nonlinear characteristics. when the length of the rope is changed the crane is time varying system and the design of anti-sway controller is very difficult. In this paper, the nonlinear dynamic model for the industrial overhead crane is derived. and the feedback gain matrix based on the pole-placement method is proposed to supress the swing motion and control the position of the crane. The performance of the controller for the crane model is simulated on the personal computer.

  • This paper discusses on application of meta-heuristic algorithms such as the genetic algorithm (GA) and the simulated annealing (SA) to the LSI module placement. We propose useful crossover method for improving of searching capability in genetic algorithm. By using our proposed crossover method, we have been able to keep good schemata in the chromosome and the variety of the solution. From the experimental results, we have obtained better result than the simulated annealing method by starting from the initial placement of the min-cut method.

  • Optimization of the collocated piezoceramic sensor/actuator placement is investigated numerically and verified experimentally for vibration control of laminated composite plates. The finite element method is used for the analysis of dynamic characteristics of the laminated composite plates with the piezoceramic sensor/actuator. The structural damping index(SDI) is defined from the modal damping(2$\omega$ζ) . It is chosen as the objective function for optimization. Weights for each vibrational mode are taken into account in the SDI calculation. The gradient method is used for the optimization. Optimum location of the piezoceramic sensor/actuator is determined by maximizing the SDI. Numerical simulation and experimental results show that the optimum location of the piezoceramic sensor/actuator is dependent upon the outer layer fiber orientations of the plate, and location and size of the piezoceramic sensor/actuator.

  • 실내 환경에서 무선 LAN의 AP(Access Point) 위치의 최적화 설계는 서비스의 품질 및 비용 절감과 직결되는 중요한 문제이다. 최적의 AP위치를 찾기 위해서는 AP의 위치에 따른 서비스 지역의 전파 강도뿐만 아니라 환경 및 사용자 요구 트래픽에 대한 지역적 특성도 고려되어야 한다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 전파 예측 모델을 기반으로 다중 AP의 위치를 최적화 시켜주는 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법은 서비스 지역에 대하여 사용자 정의 파라미터를 설정하여, 유연성 있는 AP 위치 설정이 가능하도록 하였고, 홉필드 신경망 알고리즘을 이용한 최적화를 수행하였으며, 전파 예측 모델은 패스-로스 모델(path-loss model)을 사용하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과, 최적의 AP위치를 계산하는 과정을 효과적으로 줄였고, 전체 서비스 지역에 대한 품질을 높일 수 있는 다중 AP의 위치 설정이 가능함을 확인하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 철근콘크리트구조에서 전단벽체를 대상으로 설계단계에서부터 Set-Based Design과 계층화분석기법을 통하여 선정된 최적배근그룹을 적용한 S-BIM기반 자동철근배근시스템 제안을 목적으로 한다. 복합적인 기준에 대한 쌍대비교 분석을 통해 최적 철근배근그룹을 선정하고 BIM 소프트웨어 벤더 (Vendor)에서 제공하는 Open API를 이용하여 구조설계 알고리즘을 통한 부재의 생성 및 철근배근이 자동으로 수행될 수 있도록 하였다. 결과적으로 가중치가 가장 높은 ALT1 (0.142)의 최적철근배근그룹이 선정되었고, 이를 TS상에 생성하였다.

  • Among the various manufacturing processes of composites, the tape lay-up process of thermoset prepreg has many advantages compared to autoclave or hot press forming. It has a high potential to process automation and continuous fabrication .. Fiber placement developed as a logical combination of filament winding and automated tape placement to overcome some of the limitations of each manufacturing method.   • 단일 입·출력 시불변 비최소 위상 공정에 대한 폴-플레이스먼트 제어기를 기준 모델을 사용하여 설계하였다. 제안된 폴-플레이스먼트 제어기는 변수 다항식5(q-1)만을 사용하여 파라미터 형으로 나타내어 기준모델의 전달함수와 제어기의 전달함수를 같게 하는 방법을 사용하였다. 또한, 적응 폴-플레이스먼트 제어기는 위의 제어기에 적응 알고리즘을 적응하여 제어기의 파라미터를 추정 하도록 설계 되었다.

  • This paper presents a scheme to design optimal placement of phase-shifting transformers for power system congestion problems. A good design of phase-shifting transformers placement can improve total transfer capability in interconnected systems. In order to find the optimal placement of phase-shifting transformers, the power flows of the interesting transmission lines are evaluated using sequential quadratic programming technique. This algorithm considers power balance equations and security constraints such as voltage magnitudes and transmission line capacities. The proposed scheme is tested in 10 machines 39 buses and IEEE 57 buses systems. Test result shows that the proposed method can find the optimal placement of phase-shifting transformers to solver power system congestion problems.

  • This paper presents a fuzzy dynamic output feedback controller design method for Parallel Distributed Compensation (PDC)-type Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) model based fuzzy dynamic system with H$\infty$ performance and additional constraints on the closed pole placement. Design condition for these controller is obtained in terms of the linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). The proposed fuzzy controller satisfies the disturbance rejection performance and the desired transient response. The design method is verified by this method for an inverted pendulum with a cart using the proposed method.
