Wide-fan-angle Flat-top Linear Laser Beam Generated by Long-pitch Diffraction Gratings

  • We demonstrated a wide-fan-angle flat-top irradiance pattern with a very narrow linewidth by using an aspheric lens and a long-pitch reflective diffraction grating. First, we numerically designed a diffraction-based linear beam homogenizer. The structure of the Al diffraction grating with an isosceles triangular shape was optimized with 0.1-mm pitch, 35.5° slope angle, and 0.02-mm radius of the rounding top. According to the numerical results, the linear uniformity of the irradiance was more sensitive to the working distance than to the shape of the Al grating. The designed Al grating reflector was fabricated by using a conventional mold injection and an Al coating process. A uniform linear irradiance of 405-nm laser diode with a 100-mm flat-top length and 0.176-mm linewidth was experimentally demonstrated at 140-mm working distance. We believe that our proposed linear beam homogenizer can be used in various potential applications at a precise inspection system such as three-dimensional morphology scanner with line lasers.

육체피로와 음성신호와의 상관관계 (Correlation between Physical Fatigue and Speech Signals)

  • This paper deals with the correlation between physical fatigue and speech signals. A treadmill task to increase fatigue and a set of subjective questionnaire for rating tiredness were designed. The results from the questionnaire and the collected bio-signals showed that the designed task imposes physical fatigue. The t-test for two-related-samples between the speech signals and fatigue showed that the parameters statistically significant to fatigue are fundamental frequency, first and second formant frequencies, long term average spectral slope, smoothed pitch perturbation quotient, relative average perturbation, pitch perturbation quotient, cepstral peak prominence, and harmonics to noise ratio. According to the experimental results, it is shown that mouth is opened small and voice is changed to be breathy as the physical fatigue accumulates.

  • We proposed a design technique for auto-landing guidance and control system. This technique utilizes linear controller and neural network. Main features of this technique is to use conventional linear controller and compensate for the error coming from the model uncertainties and/or reference model mismatch. In this study, the multi-perceptron neural network with single hidden layer is adopted to compensate for the errors. Glide-slope capture logic for auto-landing guidance and control system is designed in this technique. From the simulation results, it is observed that the responses of velocity and pitch angle to commands are fairly good, which are directly related to control inputs of throttle and elevator, respectively.

  • This paper deals with a design of nonlinear glide slope capture logic using dynamic model inversion in singular perturbation, which is applicable to the autolanding in ILS. Aircraft dynamics are separated into the fast time-scale variables, related with the inner-loop design, and the slow time-scale variables, related with the outer-loop design. It is assumed that the aircraft starts landing at 1000ft of altitude, -2.5deg of flight path angle, and 250ft/sec of velocity. In the outer-loop design, commands of altitude and velocity are selected and thereby the pseudo-controls of power level and pitch rate are determined. Also the elevator input to the aircraft is determined in the inner-loop design. 자폐 범주성 장애아동과 정상아동의 평서문 읽기에서의 운율구 특성 비교 (A Comparative Study on the Characteristics of the Prosodic Phrases between Autism Spectrum Disorder and Normal Children in the Reading of Korean Read Sentences)

  • The aim of this study is to compare ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) children with normal children in terms of the prosodic features. Materials are collected by the reading of Korean read sentences. They are composed of 10 declarative sentences, each of which was consisted of 5-6 words. Subjects are consisted of 10 ASD and 10 normal male children with a receptive vocabulary age of 5;0-6;5 years. We found out that both groups showed the differences not only in the tonal patterns at the end of the prosodic phrases, but also in both the degree of rising and falling slope related to pitch contour. While HL% and HLH% were highly emerged in sentence final position in normal group, HL% and HLH% were prominent in ASD group in the same position. LH% and LHL% IP types were observed only in ASD group in sentence medial position. The slope showing the variation in the fundamental frequency at the end of the prosodic phrase was twice as steep in the group of ASD children as in the group of normal children.

자석식 무한궤도를 가진 모노레일의 동역학 해석 (Dynamic Analysis of Monorail System with Magnetic Caterpillar)

  • This work deals with dynamic analysis of a monorail system with magnetic caterpillar where magnets are embedded inside each articulated element of the caterpillar, augmenting traction force of main rubber wheels to climb up slope up to 15 degree grade. Considerations are first given to determine stiffness of the primary and secondary suspension springs in order for the natural frequencies of car body and bogie associated with vertical, pitch, roll and yaw motion to be within generally accepted range of 1-2 Hz. Equations for calculating magnetic force needed to climb up given slope are derived, and a magnetic caterpillar system for 1/6 scale monorail is designed based on the derivation. To assess the hill climbing ability and cornering stability, and make sure smooth operation of the side and vertical guiding wheels which is critical for safety, a multibody model that takes into account of every component level design characteristics of car, bogie, and caterpillar is set up. Through hill climbing simulation and comparison with measurement of the limit slope, the validity of the analysis and design of the magnetic caterpillar system are demonstrated. Also by studying the curving behavior, maximum curving speed without rollover, functioning of lateral motion constraint system, the effects of geometry of guiding rails are studied.

저전력 Single-Slope ADC를 사용한 CMOS 이미지 센서의 설계 (Design of a CMOS Image Sensor Based on a Low Power Single-Slope ADC)

  • 모바일 기기에 장착되는 CMOS 이미지 센서(CIS) 칩은 배터리 용량의 한계로 인해 저전력 소모를 요구한다. 본 논문에서는 전력소모를 줄일 수 있는 데이터 플립플롭 회로와 새로운 저전력 구조의 Single-Slope A/D Converter(SS-ADC)를 사용한 이미지 센서를 설계하여 모바일 기기에 사용되는 CIS 칩의 전력 소모를 감소시켰다. 제안하는 CIS는 $2.25um{\times}2.25um$ 면적을 갖는 4-Tr Active Pixel Sensor 구조를 사용하여 QVGA($320{\times}240$)급 해상도를 갖도록 설계되었으며 0.13um CMOS 공정에서 설계되었다. 실험 결과, CIS 칩 내부의 SS-ADC 는 10-b 해상도를 가지며, 동작속도는 16 frame/s 를 만족하였고, 전원 전압 3.3V(아날로그)/1.8V(Digital)에서 25mW의 전력 소모를 보였다. 측정결과로부터 제안된 CIS 칩은 기존 CIS 칩에 비해 대기시간동안 약 22%, 동작시간동안 약 20%의 전력이 감소되었다.

파킨슨병 환자와 정상노인 간의 문장 읽기에 나타난 운율 특성 비교 (A study of prosodic features of patients with idiopathic Parkinson's disease)

  • In view of the hypothesis that the effects of Parkinson's disease on voice production can be detected before pharmacological intervention, the prosodic features of patients with idiopathic Parkinson's disease (IPD) and a healthy aging group were diagnostically analyzed with the long term object of establishing, for clinical purposes, early disease-progression biomarkers. Twenty patients (male 8; female 12) with IPD (prior to pharmacological intervention) and a healthy control group of 22 (male 10; female 12) were selected. Ten sentences were recorded with a head-worn microphone. One sentence was chosen for the analysis of this paper. Relevant parameters, i.e. 3-dimensional model (F0, intensity, duration) and pitch and intensity related slopes (maxEnergy, maxF0, meanAbS, semiT, meanEnergy, meanF0), were analyzed by two-group discriminant analysis. The stepwise estimation method of discriminant analysis was performed by gender. The discriminant functions predicted 83.9% of the male test data correctly while the prediction rate was 93.1% for the female group. The results showed that meanF0_slope and semiT_slope were more important parameters than the others for the male group. For the female group, the meanEnergy_slope and maxEnergy_slope were the important ones. These findings indicate that significant parameters are different for the male and female group. Gender lifestyle may be responsible for this difference. Dysprosodic features of IPD show not simultaneously but progressively in terms of F0, intensity and duration.

  • The aim of this study was to generate systemic data for the aquatic plant distribution according to water depth and crossing slope in the shoreline. The results of this study were as follows; 1. Anxiety to 0 near area Bidens frondosa, Scirpus tabernaemontani, Carex dispalata etc. total class 21 observe, and Phragmites communis, Iris pseudoacorus etc. class 6 of anxiety 0-70cm extent examined. Class 21 of anxiety observed all such as Bidens frondosa, Scirpus tabernaemontani, Carex dispalata in near area to 0, and Phragmites communis, Iris pseudoacorus etc. class 6 of anxiety 0-70cm extent examined. Anxiety 70-100cm extent Nymphoides indica, Ttapa japonica etc.. class 2 appeared to line Zizania latifolia, Typha angustata back 2 papers, 130cm and examined that Nelumbo nucifera was limit anxiety state 230cm. 2. Aquatic plants of Phragmites communis, Zizania latifolia, Typha angustata etc. range mainly to gentle gradient of slant 10 degree low and distribution pattern was ranging by Zizania latifolia, Typha angustata, Phragmites communis period of ten days from deepwater place. Nelumbo nucifera was forming become independent stock keeping away invasion of plant that ability to breed was different because was prosperous. Slant 10 bores was growing near sleep in been strange steep slope earth and distribution of emerged plant appeared punily and emerged plant and swampy land plant were ranged extensively in gentle gradient of 10 degree low. 3. On lake surrounding plant when wish to do distribution of natural conditions reference need to. That is, gentle gradient and distribution form of steep slope earth are different, and same pitch must consider enough this because appear as distribution, distribution according to that some plant species were growing was different.

따라말하기 과제를 통한 자폐범주성 장애 아동과 일반 아동의 평서문과 의문문의 음향학적 특성 비교 (A study of the prosodic patterns of autism and normal children in the imitating declarative and interrogative sentences)

  • 언어의 운율은 억양, 리듬, 강세로 구성되어 있고 운율 요소는 상호 복합적인 작용을 통하여 언어의 고유한 리듬을 형성한다. 자폐범주성 장애 아동은 자연스러운 운율 학습에 어려움이 있어 정확한 의미와 정보 전달에 어려움이 있어 자폐범주성 장애 아동의 운율에 대한 연구가 중요하다. 평서문과 의문문 따라말하기 과제를 통하여 자폐범주성 장애 아동 집단과 일반 아동 집단 간의 운율 특성 차이를 구명하고 어말 길이에 따라 의문문에서의 음도기울기와 청자와의 지각관계를 알아보았다. 7-12세 일반 아동 30명, 자폐범주성 장애 아동 20명을 대상으로 언어 평가 후 20문장 따라말하기 과제를 실시하였다. 청지각 과제로는 115문장이 사용되었다. 자폐범주성 장애 아동이 일반 아동에 비해 음도와 강도가 높고, 발화속도가 느리며 음도 기울기가 낮았다. 자폐범주성 장애 아동은 평서문과 의문문의 산출에서 음도와 강도에 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 자폐범주성 장애 아동은 의문문 1음절에서 평서문과 가장 큰 기울기 차이를 보였으며 5음절 의문문 산출에서 가장 낮은 기울기 값을 보였다. 청지각 평가 결과 청자는 4.3%만 자폐범주성 장애 아동의 의문문을 의문문으로 지각하였다. 결과적으로 평서문과 의문문 따라말하기에서 자폐범주성 장애아동이 일반 아동에 비해 음도와 강도가 높고, 발화속도가 느리며, 낮은 음도기울기를 보였다. 이러한 운율패턴 때문에 청자는 의문문을 평서문으로 인식하였고 원인은 규명되지 않았지만 화용능력이나 다른 자폐적 특징의 결함과 관련이 있다고 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 자폐범주성 장애 아동의 이러한 억양 패턴을 확인하였고 운율 개선을 위한 치료 개발의 필요성을 제시했다.
