광변색 회절 이미지 형성을 위한 트라이아진계 메타아크릴레이트 모노머를 포함한 광고분자 필름의 특성평가 (Characterization of Photopolymers films containing triazine methacrylate monomer for photochromic diffractive image formation)

  • A photo-reactive methacrylate monomer having triazine as a core component was examined for photochromic diffractive image formation. Photochromic photopolymer films as a recording media contained a monomer mixture of triazine difunctional metharylate (DT) and ethylene glycol phenyl ether acrylate, binder polymer, photo initiator, and a photochromic spiro-oxazine dye. The content of photochromic dye was changed to examine the effect of photochromophore on diffraction efficiency and real holographic image formation. Holographic recording was performed on the photopolymer film by the combination of reference and probe beam. The diffraction efficiency of the photopolymer film in real-time measurement reached a maximum of $\sim90%$ within 30s. It was highly dependent on the photochromophore contents. After holographic recording, the color of the recorded area was changed under UV light (365 nm) and reversibly bleached to original color upon exposure to a visible light source. Films containing only photochromophore without monomer mixture were not reactive under the recording beam (491nm). Diffractive image formation and mechanism of the holographic recording in the presence of photochromophore will be presented.

Fabrication and Characterization of PZT Suspensions for Stereolithography based on 3D Printing

  • PZT suspensions for photo-curable 3D printing were fabricated and their characteristics were evaluated. After mixing the PZT, photopolymer, photo-initiator, and dispersant for 10 min by using a high-shear mixer, the viscosity characteristics were investigated based on the powder content. To determine an appropriate dispersant content, the dispersant was mixed at 1, 3, and 5 wt% of the powder and a precipitation test was conducted for two hours. Consequently, it was confirmed that the dispersibility was excellent at 3 wt%. Through thermogravimetric analysis, it was confirmed that weight reduction occurred in the photopolymer between 120? and 500?, thereby providing a debinding heat treatment profile. The fabricated suspensions were cured using UV light, and the polymer was removed through debinding. Subsequently, the density and surface characteristics were analyzed by using the Archimedes method and field-emission scanning electron microscopy. Consequently, compared with the theoretical density, an excellent characteristic of 97% was shown at a powder content of 87 wt%. Through X-ray diffraction analysis, it was confirmed that the crystallizability improved as the solid content increased. At the mixing ratio of 87 wt% powder and 13 wt% photo-curable resin, the viscosity was 3,100 cps, confirming an appropriate viscosity characteristic as a stereolithography suspension for 3D printing.

LC Aligning Ability of the Liquid Crystal Display using Photopolymer Layers Containing an Acrylate unite Photopolymerized by a Photoinitiator

  • Photoalignment materials of PGMAcr, poly[3-(acryloyloxy)-2-hydroxypropyl methacrylate] using an acrylate unit photopolymerized by a photo-initiator and PGMA4Ch, poly[3- (4-ehalconyloxy)-2-hydroxypropyl methacrylate] using photodimerization by the chalcone group were synthesized. Also, the liquid crystal (LC) alignment capabilities on the photopolymer layers were studied. A good LC alignment with UV exposure on the PGMAcr surface can be obtained. However, LC alignment defects were observed on the PGMA4Ch surface. The LC alignment capability of the PGMAcr surface by the photoinitiator was better than that of the PGMA4Ch surface by the chalcone group which is a photosensitive moiety.

자외선 경화형 유/무기 코팅제의 복합 필름 특성 (The hybrid film characteristics of UV-curable organic-inorganic coating solutions)

  • UV-Curable hybrid coatings were synthesized to improve the surface properties of plastic film. Organic-inorganic coating solutions were prepared by the sol-gel method using urethane-acrylate oligomer, acrylate monomer, photo initiator and tetraethoxysilane (TEOS). Methacryloyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane(MPTMS) was used as a silane coupling agent to improve chemical interaction between inorganic phases and UV curable acrylate. In this study, the surface hardness and adhesive properties were improved with the use of inorganic component. The experimental results showed that UV-Curable hybrid films containing aliphatic urethane oligomer, hexanedioldiacrylate, trimethylolpropanetriacrylate, hydroxy dimethyl acetophenone exhibited good surface properties. Also, the optimum curing conditions were investigated.

Low Hysteresis Organic Thin Film Transistors with Modified Photocrosslinkable Poly (4-vinylphenol)

  • We introduce the new modification approaches of photocrosslinkable poly (4-vinylphenol) (PVP) for low hysteresis organic thin film transistors (OTFTs). The dielectric layers were composed of different PVP resin, low molecular melamine, and halogen free photo-initiator. The low hysteresis OTFT from one of the organic gate dielectrics has been realized. The electrical performance of low hysteresis OTFT with photocrosslinkable PVP exhibited a field-effect mobility of 0.2 cm2/Vs, a threshold voltage of - 0.04V, hysteresis of 0.4V.

네가티브 포토레지스트용 아크릴레이트계 바인더 합성 (Synthesis of Acrylate Binders for Negative Photoresist)

  • In this study, we synthesized novel UV-curable binders and applied for negative photoresist of display device. First, we synthesized UV-curable binders by radical polymerization with a mixture of Styrene/Methyl methacrylate/Methacrylic acid/Glycidyl methacrylate/N-Cyclohexylmaleimide at a fixed composition. Following the first step, we prepared a negative photoresist mixture optimized with photo sensitive initiator and others for the litho test. And then, we studied resolution and film retention with molecular weight of each binders and numerical value of Alkaline Desolution Rate(ADR). As a result of the litho test, we found that if the novel polymers have same numerical value of ADR, the resolution decreased and the film retention increased with the increasing of molecular weight of photoresist binder.

이중경화법을 이용한 열개시제 및 광개시제가 배합된 황칠도료의 경화속도 촉진 및 물성향상 연구 (Improving Curing Rate and Physical Properties of Korean Dendropanax Lacquer with Thermal and Photo Initiator by Dual Curing)

  • 한반도 남부 일대에서 자생하는 황칠나무(Dendropanax morbifera Lev.) 수액으로부터 추출한 천연 도료인 황칠도료(Korean Dendropanax lacquer)는 예로부터 귀중한 예술품이나 투구, 화살, 활 등의 전쟁도구를 찬란한 황금색으로 도장하는데 사용되어 왔다. 경화 후 황금색의 투명한 도막을 형성하여 우수한 색상특성을 지니고 있을 뿐만 아니라 내후성, 내수성, 내식성 등이 우수하여, 보호도장으로써도 훌륭한 가치를 지니고 있다. 그러나 이러한 많은 장점에도 불구하고, 현대적인 여러 적용분야에 사용되지 못하고 있는 이유는 황칠도료의 생산량이 적고, 이로 인하여 가격이 매우 고가이고, 장시간의 경화시간이 소요되는 문제도 큰 원인으로 작용하고 있다. 한편 황칠 내에 광중합이 가능한 conjugated diene을 포함한 모노머가 있으며, 이러한 모노머는 일광 조사 조건등에 의하여 짧은 시간에 단단하고 황금색을 띠는 도막을 형성할 수 있음이 보고된 바가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에 서는 전통적인 황칠도료의 경화방법을 개선하고 경화속도를 촉진하기 위하여, 열개시제를 도입하여 열경화를 촉진하는 방법과 열개시제 및 광개시제를 동시에 도입하고 이중경화(dual curing)에 의해서 경화속도를 촉진하고자 하였다. 이러한 경화 속도 및 경화 거동은 적외선분광분석기(FT-IR)을 이용하여 -C=C- 이중결합 특성피크의 변화를 관찰하거나, 진자경도계(pendulum hardness tester)를 이용하여 표면 경도의 변화를 관찰함으로써 평가하였다. 또한 강체진자물성측정기(RPT)에 spot UV curing 장비를 도입하여 이중경화에 의한 경화 속도 진을 평가하였다. 본 연구의 결과 열개시제에 의하여 열경화가 촉진될 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 이중경화에 의하여 경화속도를 향상시킬 수 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 이러한 황칠도료 경화 속도 촉진 방법을 활용하여 전통적인 역에만 사용되어온 황칠도료를 현대적인 여러 적용분야에도 확대하여 사용할 수 있는 가능성을 제시하였다.

  • The aim of this reviews is to introduce the information concerning design of the UV-curable jet ink composition in order to provide a good adhesive property on non-porous surface. In order to clarify the viscosity dependence of flying speed for the UV curable jet ink, rheological analysis and observation of the flying state of the ink were carried out. The relationship between ink formulas and adhesive property on non-porous surface was investigated. It was examined the adhesive property of radical polymerization type UV curable jet ink included hydrogen abstraction type photo-initiator, it was expected that the strong adhesive strength can be obtained between the ink and non-porous surface in this study. UV curable jet ink with a slight amount of water was prepared. Optimum ratio of the cationic polymerization type UV curable jet ink shows an adequate adhesive strength towards two kinds of non-porous surface such as glass, poly(vinyl chloride) when tests were conducted on the ink jet-printing test machine.

  • This study is the series of photopolymerization on alkyl methacrylate(AMA) to continue further research. The objective of this work is to investigate the environmental fraternitive characteristics of photopolymerization kinetics on n-Buthyl methacrylate(BMA) and comparing the decomposition behavior to other AMA. The experiment was done in aqueous solution under the influence of photo-initiator concentration$(0.05{\sim}0.25mol/l)$, light intensity$(5000{\sim}9000{\mu}J/cm^{2})$ and monomer concentration$(2.0{\sim}6.0mol/l)$. n-BMA was polymerized to high conversion ratio using hydrogen $peroxide(H_{2}O_{2})$, and the kinetics model we have obtained is as follows. $R_{p}=K_{p}[S]^{0.24}[M]^{0.33}[L]^{153}exp^{(27.19/RT)}$ The differential method of thermogravimetric analysis(Friedman method) was used to obtain value of activation energy on decomposition reaction. The average value of it was 27.5Kcal/mol.

UV 경화 시스템에서 Amine Synergist의 효과에 대한 연구 (A study on Amine Synergist Effect in UV Curing System)

  • With increasing interests in environment matters over the world, incessant efforts to develop products which meet these environmental requirements have been made also in paint industry. Among the efforts in this field, UV(Ultra Violet) curing system is focused as one of most potential system. It is because this system not only proved to be environmentally friendly compared with heat curing system or other system but also has economical merit of smaller facility, less energy consumption, and better productivity. Superior properties in many application is surely one of its dominant merit. With these advantage UV system is applied to a variety of industrial fields and expected to have continuous growth in the future. As practical application of UV system has shown lasting progress, R&D on basic material of this system keeps up with. This is a study on photo-initiator that is a fundamental substance in UV curing method and amine, its aid for better effect. After reviewing on them in the aspects of function, economy, and stability, optimal foumula is pursued through experiments when applied to real products.
