  • 본 연구에서는 실제 빙축열 시스템의 해석을 위한 기초 모델로서 수직원관 주 위의 응고과정에 대하여 밀도차와 자연대류 효과 및 최대 밀도점을 나타내는 밀도-온 도 관계식을 도입한 수치해석과 실험을 통하여 여러가지 매개변수들이 상변화에 미치 는 영향을 알아 보았다.

  • In this paper we investigate the phase modulation efficiency in the electrooptic phase modulator using PPpinNN GaAs/AlGaAs W-type waveguide. The phase change is affected by the refractive index change taking place inside the depletion region. The behavior of the modulator can be understood in terms of two electric field-related and two carrier-related effects linear electrooptic, quadratic electrooptic, plasma, and bandgap shift. As a result, the phase modulation efficiency was measured about 34.6($^{\circ}$/V$.$mm) for the TE polarized light. The quadratic electrooptic coefficient R 5.82${\times}$10$\^$-15/($\textrm{cm}^2$/V$^2$) is Obtained ant the Phase efficiency Caused by the quadratic electrooptic effect is about 10 times larger than that from the conventional linear electrooptic effect.

Sb-doped Ag/Ge-Se-Te 박막의 상변화 특성 연구 (A Study of Phase-change Properties of Sb-doped Ag/Ge-Se-Te thin films)

  • In other to progress better crystallization transition and long phase-transformation data of phase-change memory (PRAM), we investigated about the effect of Sb doping and Ag ions percolating into Ge-Se-Te phase-change material. Doped Sb concentrations was determined each of 10 wt%, 20 wt% and 30 wt%. As the Sb-doping concentration was increased, the resistivity decreased and the crystallization temperature increased. Ionization of Ag was progressed by DPSS laser (532 nm) for 1 hour. The resistivity was more decreased and the crystallization temperature was more increased in case of adding Ag layer under Sb-(Ge-Se-Te) thin film. At the every condition of thin films included Ag layer more stable states were indicated compare with just Sb-doped Ge-Se-Te thin films.

Melting Heat Transfer Characteristics of Plural Phase Change Microcapsules Slurry Having Different Diameters

  • The present study has been performed for obtaining the melting heat transfer enhancement characteristics of water mixture slurries of plural microcapsules having different diameters encapsulated with solid-liquid phase change material(PCM) flowing in a pipe heated under a constant wall heat flux condition. In the turbulent flow region, the friction factor of the present PCM slurry was to be lower than that of only water flow due to the drag reducing effect of the PCM slurry. The heat transfer coefficient of the PCM slurry flow in the pipe was increased by both effects of latent heat involved in phase change process and microconvection around plural microcapsules with different diameters. The experimental results revealed that the average heat transfer coefficient of the PCM slurry flow was about 2~2.8 times greater than that of a single phase of water.

  • Phase change random access memory is one of the most promising candidates for next generation non-volatile memories. However, the high reset current is one major obstacle to develop a high density PRAM. One way of the reset current reduction is to develop the new phase change material. In this paper, to reduce the reset current for phase transition, we have investigated the effect of phase change material parameters using finite element analysis.

Design of Dynamically Focus-switchable Fresnel Zone Plates Based on Plasmonic Phase-change VO2 Metafilm Absorbers

  • Novel thermo-optically focus-switchable Fresnel zone plates based on phase-change metafilms are designed and analyzed at a visible wavelength (660 nm). By virtue of the large thermo-optic response of vanadium dioxide (VO2) thin film, a phase-change material, four different plasmonic phase-change absorbers are numerically designed as actively tunable Gires-Tournois Al-VO2 metafilms in two and three dimensions. The designed phase-change metafilm unit cells are used as the building blocks of actively focus-switchable Fresnel zone plates with strong focus switching contrast (40%, 83%) and high numerical apertures (1.52, 1.70). The Fresnel zone plates designed in two and three dimensions work as cylindrical and spherical lenses in reflection type, respectively. The coupling between the thermo-optic effect of VO2 and localized plasmonic resonances in the Al nanostructures offer a large degree of freedom in design and high-contrast focus-switching performance based on largely tunable absorption resonances. The proposed method may have great potential in photothermal and electrothermal active optical devices for nonlinear optics, microscopy, 3D scanning, optical trapping, and holographic displays over a wide spectral range including the visible and infrared regimes.

Phase Change Material (PCM) 소재 적용 소방보호복의 화상발생 억제효과에 관한 연구 (Inhibitory Effect of adding Phase Change Material (PCM) to Fire Fighter Protective Clothing on Burn Injuries)

  • 소방공무원의 화상방지를 위해 소방보호복의 개발이 이루어지고 있으나, 보호 성능을 높이기 위해서 소재의 두께가 증가하고, 그럼으로 경량화 달성이 어려워지는 단점이 존재한다. 이를 극복하기 위한 여러 가지 방법 중 Phase Change Material(PCM, 상변화 물질)을 적용한 섬유를 소방보호복 안감에 적용하는 연구가 진행되고 있다. 기존 연구의 경우, 고온노출시 PCM 적용 섬유의 온도 특성에 대한 연구가 일부 있었으나, 화상 발생과의 직접적인 연관성을 살펴볼 수가 없다는 큰 단점이 존재한다. 본 연구에서는 짧은 시간 고열유속 상태의 돌발화염조건에 대해 현재 사용되고 있는 소방보호복 안감에 대한 PCM 적용 여부에 따라 2도 화상 발생 억제 효과를 수치계산을 통해 살펴보았다. 피부의 화상 해석을 위해 생체 열전달 방정식(Bio-heat transfer)을 이용하여 지배방정식을 유도하였으며, 유한차분법(Finite Difference Method)을 활용하여 화상에 대한 예측을 수행하는 수치해석 접근법을 사용하였다. 시간에 따른 온도 및 손상함수 결과 분석을 통해 PCM 소재의 열흡수가 열전달을 지연시키는 효과가 큼을 확인할 수 있었고, 그에 의해 화상발생을 방지하는 매우 유효한 방법임을 확인할 수 있었다.

Effects of Competition between Phase Separation and Ester Interchange Reactions on the Phase Behavior in a Phase-Separated Immiscible Polyester Blend: Monte Carlo Simulation

  • The effects of rate of phase separation to ester interchange reactions and the repulsive pair interaction energy on the phase behavior in a phase-separated immiscible polyester blend are investigated using a Monte Carlo simulation method. The time evolution of structure factor and the degree of randomness are monitored as a function of homogenization time. When the phase separation is dominant over ester interchange reactions, the domain size slowly increases with homogenization time. However, when the pair interaction becomes less repulsive, the domain size does not significantly change with homogenization time. On the other hand, when ester interchange reactions are dominant over the phase separation, the homogenization proceeds without a change in the domain size. The higher the extent of phase separation, the lower the increasing rate of the DR. However, when the phase separation is sufficiently dominant, the effect of the extent of phase separation on the increasing rate of the degree of randomness become less significant.

Emamectin benzoate와 Pyridaben의 잔효성에 따른 담배가루이의 섭식행동 변화 (Changes of Feeding Behavior of Sweetpotato Whitefly, Bemisia tabaci Correlated with the Residual Effect of Emamectin benzoate and Pyridaben)

  • Emamectin benzoate와 pyridaben에 대한 담배가루이의 잔효성과 섭식행동의 상관관계를 조사하였다. EPG의 파형은 non-probe time과 phloem phase time과 같은 파형을 신호개시 후 3시간 동안 기록하여 분석하였다. EPG 파형 중 non-probe time과 phloem phase time의 두 파형과 emamectin benzoate와 Pyridaben의 두 약제 간 잔효성의 상관관계 분석에서 모두 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 잔효성은 두 약제 모두 2일까지는 50%로 비슷하였으나, 그 이후로는 pyridaben보다 emamectin benzoate가 급격히 감소하였다. EPG를 이용한 두 약제의 잔효성에 따른 구침을 찌른 시간과 체관부 섭식행동은 9일 이후부터 증가하는 경향을 보였으며, emamectin benzoate가 pyridaben보다 증가하는 속도가 빨랐다.

에탄올을 첨가한 TMA 포접화합물의 냉각특성에 대한 연구 (The Study on Cooling Characterics of TMA Clathrate with Ethanol)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the propriety of TMA clathrate as a cold storage medium. Particularly, this is to examine the extent of subcooling improvement when the additives is added to the TMA clathrate, because water used for cold storage ma terial has low phase change temperature and subcooling. This study has been analyzed and compared pure water with TMA 30 wt% clathrate how phase change temperature, subcooling and specific heat in the various concentrations are changed. This results prove low phase change temperature and subcooling control effect when the ethanol is added to the TMA 30 wt% clathrate than the TMA 30 wt% clathrate. In addition, it results low specific heat when there is added to the TMA 30 wt% clathrate over 0.5 wt% ethanol in the cold heat source temperature under $-7^{\circ}C$. The other side, it results high specific heat when the ethanol is added in it at the cold heat source temperature under $-5^{\circ}C$. Therefore, it is found that the additive must be controlled by available solution limit and study for new additive must be lasted to know its effect.
