  • Gadoxetic acid-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has been widely used to detect and characterize focal hepatic lesions. Because gadoxetic acid is a hepatocyte-specific contrast agent, its patterns during hepatobiliary phase enhancement provide useful information for differential diagnoses of focal hepatic lesions. Hepatic angiomyolipoma (AML) is a rare mesenchymal hepatic neoplasm composed of blood vessels, epithelioid cells, and varying amounts of adipose tissue components. Hepatic AMLs usually show marked hypointensity during the hepatobiliary phase of gadoxetic acid-enhanced MRI as hepatic AMLs are devoid of hepatocytes and fibrotic components. The present study describes a patient with hepatic AML and an atypical imaging feature. This tumor showed hyperintensity during the hepatobiliary phase of gadoxetic acid-enhanced MRI, mimicking hepatocellular tumors such as hepatocellular adenoma. The hepatobiliary hyperintensity of this lesion was likely due to multifocal entrapped hepatocytes resulting from an intrasinusoidal growth pattern of tumor cells and insufficient hepatic parenchymal enhancement during the hepatobiliary phase of gadoxetic acid-enhanced MRI.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze, in real time, the glide motion and release motion of domestic athletes and gold and bronze medalists employing the glide technique for the men's shot put at the Daegu World Athletic Championship in 2011. In the glide motion, the Korean athletes had a relatively high body center and shot put heights and lager stretching angles for their hips and knees. In the delivery phase, which shifts to the release phase, the Korean athletes showed slower vertical body center and shot put speeds, and they changed the phase, to the release phase by using a small body angle. In the release phase, the Korean athletes showed differences in their projection speeds and vertical body center speeds. The world-famous players showed high angle speeds, which refer to the composition of the rotation force at the moment of release (body, hip, and shoulder line). In the release phase, the Korean athletes did not have fully stretched hip and knee angles, which might have negatively influenced the vertical speed. Because the Korean athletes showed relatively low projection heights and projection angles. it was found that they need to enhance the muscular power of their, throwing arms and lower limbs.

  • In this study, a different UV (ultra-violet) ray absorption system is presented in which butyl methoxydiben-zoylmethane (BMDM, a model UV-A absorbent, 320$\~$400 nm) is stabilized in phase-controlled poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) microspheres. The photochemistry of BMDM in the microspheres was investigated considering its phase characteristics therein. The analysis of a differential scanning calorimeter and X-ray diffractometer showed that the BMDM in the microspheres was present with a non-crystalline state. The phase control of BMDM in the polymer microsphere has an excellent ability to protect UV-A with maintaining its photo- and thermal stability. The results obtained in this study illustrate well that the phase control of the UV absorbents in the polymer microspheres is another key factor that de-termines its photochemistry and photostability in the final formulations.

  • A wave difference method(WDH) phase detector for timing recovery is designed in the digital subscriber loop receiver. This paper describes the architecture and experimental results of the WDM, tankless timing extraction PLL. The results show that the designed WDM timing extraction circuit have stable jitter performance without the use of high precision LC tank circuit.

  • This paper, we propose a new high noise immunity phase-locked loop(PLL) which can suppress the high incident noise coupling with large amplitude and long period to the input frequency of PLL and keeps constant frequency and phase of the VCO output for providing the high stability distribution clock pulse.

  • At least 15% of the C polykrikoides cells that precipitated to the bottom layer either by the addition of loess or no addition survived for 1 week at all growth phases, rather than disappearing immediately after precipitating. However, no live cells were observed after 20 days, regardless of phase or loess addition. In the exponential phase, the number of C polykrikoides cells increased to >2886 cells/ml after loess was added. However, in the stationary phase, the number of cells did not increase until 18 days. In the exponential phase, those C polykrikoides that survived precipitation caused by scattering loess on cultures did not appear to have the ability to cause red tides again because of the short red tide periods in the field, long lag time after loess addition, and low survival rate after loess addition.

  • Cyclosophoraoses (Cys), cyclic ${\beta}-(1{\rightarrow}2)-D-glucans$ produced by Rhizobium meliloti 2011, were used as a novel chiral stationary phase for the enantiomeric separation. A novel Cys stationary phase, chemically immobilized onto porous silica via aminopropyltrimethoxysilane as a molecular linker, showed good separation for each racemate of bupivacain (separation factor, $\alpha$=1.3), propranolol ($\alpha$=1.3), and fenoprofen ($\alpha$=2.9), respectively, under the mobile phase of water: methanol (80:20, v/v) at a constant flow rate of 0.9 ml/min at pH7.

  • Novel conductive $CO_2$ membranes composed of dual phases, molten carbonates and electronic conducting ceramics, were investigated. As the microstructure control of electronic conducting ceramic supports is extremely important to keep the molten carbonates stable in the membranes by a capillary force applied by the pore structure of the supports, we have scrutinized the microstructure of the electronic conducting supports utilizing microscopic images and gas permeability measurement. From the evaluation of the electrical conductivities of the molten carbonates and the electronic conducting ceramic supports, we found that the ionic conductivity of the molten carbonates could determine $CO_2$ flux through the dual phase membranes if the surface exchange rate were relatively high enough.

  • A Periodic disturbance canceller is proposed to compensate for the periodic disturbance due to cutting process in a CNC machining center. The periodic disturbance canceller estimates the Periodic disturbance without phase delay. This is achieved by using linear phase low-pass filter and frequency response reciprocal filter of plant at the frequency of the periodic disturbance. This method is implemented in the position control system of the CNC machining center with general disturbance compensators in order to compensate for both the frictional force and the periodic disturbance. The experimental results are described to show its effectiveness.
