Although there are some challenges to a view of science teaming as conceptual change, the view still occupies an important position in science teaming and teaching. Conceptual change theory implies that students' conceptions need to be exchanged for the new science conceptions. This was at the heart of conceptual change theory of Posner et al. (1982). According to this theory, cognitive conflict is known as an important factor in conceptual change even though there is still a controversial on effects on science teaming. This study is intended to interpret the cognitive conflict from cybernetics' perspective and explain difficulties of conceptual change which students have in teaming science and the conditions of conceptual change.

A PC-based ship maneuvering simulator was developed which was configured in a high performance IBM PC compatible i486 and i286 computer with a TMS 340 graphic signal processor and 10 MBPS Ethernet Cards. A real-time ship maneuvering simulation program was developed which includes computer generated imagery (CGI) for bird's eye view type and perspective view type. The simulator H/W was designed and manufactured and S/W for interface of various navigation equipments was made Especially, programs for output, analysis, and assessment of simulations results were developed. Communications between PC's are made by using Ethernet bus type LAN system. Simulations could be performed under various environments (current, wind, wave etc.) using data base of harbors and ships. This system can be used for various purposes such as crew's training, harbor and waterway design, and assessment of ship maneuverability in harbor.

Multi-color organic electroluminescent (EL) displays have already been commercialized, and the simple extensions of present technologies on organic EL can not be a target for basic research anymore. Future prospect of research on organic electroluminescent devices are described from the view point of possible future break-through. Three aspects, perspective for further increase of device efficiencies, possibility of simplified device structures and possible use of thick organic layers, are discussed.

The objective of this paper is to survey and put in perspective the existing methods of dynamic filter development. This includes theories and practices for linear and nonlinear filters, multiple model filters, and data association methods for tracking in multitarget environment. The presentation of this paper is motivated by recent surge of interest in the area of designing feedback control systems with reduced number of sensors, detection and identification of abrupt changes, and multitarget tracking in clutter. It is hoped to be useful in view of the need to take a grasp of existing techniques before using them in practice and developing new techniques.

This paper presents an evaluation criteria of an information system availability for guaranteeing availability (service target level) from the perspective of the SLA contract and its technical point of view. In order to verify the effectiveness for information system failure and availability guarantee measures, three cases were examined. In summary, the failure time was reduced by 32% ~ 62% after applying the availability guarantee measure, verifying the excellence in the evaluation of an information system availability.

This paper is to survey and put in perspective the working methods of multi-target tracking in clutter. This paper includes theories and practices for data association and related filter structures and is motivated by increasing interest in the area of target tracking, security, surveillance, and multi-sensor data fusion. It is hoped that it will be useful in view of taking into consideration a full understanding of existing techniques before using them in practice.

This paper describes a method of calculating the viewing parameters of a camera using a perspective view of a circular pattern. The proposed method determines the angle of pan, tilt, and swing, as well as the distance from the camera to the reference point of a world coordinate system, using simple equations. The proposed method is so simple and accurate that when used in a well-controled environment as in robot vision systems or visual inspection systems it may even seem trivial.

Along with the recent pressures for market liberalizations in the legal services sector, the topsizing, multinationalization, and specialization of Law Firms have brought about the need for them to view the profession itself from a marketing perspective and promote corporate identity to improve productivity and garner clientele. With this in mind, this study attempts the revamping of the traditionally, conservative and cramped characteris-tics of Law Firms' interior space into more open and dy-namic ones with a contemporary and international feel which are also superior from a marketing viewpoint.

This paper reviews issues and methodological status of system dynamics and suggest some research agenda for its development in Korea. After reviewing some characteristics of system dynamics approach, including dynamic feedback perspective and endogenous point of view, the paper pointed out methodological characteristics of system dynamics. It seems to be the most notable characteristics of System Dynamics that it use both quantitative and qualitative approach in explaining and modelling reality. Besides, System Dynamicists rely more heavily on refutationism than instrumentalism and this allows System Dynamicists follow more strict way of scientific inquiry. For the development of System Dynamics in Korean academic circle, developing training program and curriculum, networking scattered System Dynamicist all over the country, would be the most important task.

Teachers beliefs for the mathematics can have a powerful impact on how children go about learning mathematics, and theirs mathematical beliefs and abilities. In this study, \circled1 to divided teacher's mathematical beliefs into three - absolutism, progressive absolutism, constructivism - and to search into a theoretical characteristic, \circled2 to analyze and criticize the problems of the behaviorism and to investigate a point of basic view of the constructivism on mathematics education, \circled3 to suggest teacher's a role in mathematics learning be based on the constructivism perspective .
