Recently, the pollution of soil and groundwater becomes a serious social problem, and geophysical exploration methods have been introduced as a remedial investigation method of subsurface. Digital technologies such as personal computer have revolutionized our ability to acquire large volumes of data in a short term, and to produce more reliable results for subsurface image. Also, color graphics easily visualizes the survey results in a more understandable manner, and it is widely used for not only characterizing the contaminated subsurface but also monitoring contaminant and remedial process. In this paper, electrical resistivity survey were carried out In order to understand characteristics of waste landfills, and the applicability of geophysical prospecting to site assessment of waste landfill was also tested. According to the result, electrical resistivity survey were effective in estimating distribution of the leachate plume.

The purposes of this study are to examine effects of household characteristics and risk tolerance attitude on risk tolerance behavior and to investigate the effect of risk tolerance attitude and behavior on financial satisfaction. For this study, data were collected during October of 2001 through a popular Web site for women in South Korea (www.azoomma.com). The participants in this study were 609 housewives, resulting in 607 with usable data. Multiple regression and path analysis were conducted using the SPSS for Windows. Findings suggest that the greater is risk tolerance attitude, the greater is risk tolerance behavior and those who exhibit more risk tolerance behavior tend to be more satisfied with their personal financial situation. It implies that risk tolerance behavior playa positive role in predicting financial satisfaction. The results have implication for family economists and educators in developing educational program and presenting strategic to increases financial well-being, and also for financial counselors and planners in suggesting portfolio advice to their client

We have designed a portable electronic nose (e-nose) system using an array of commercial gas sensors and personal digital assistants (PDA) for the recognition and analysis of volatile organic compounds (VOC) in the field. Field screening of pollutants has been a target of instrumental development during the past years. A portable e-nose system was advantageous to localize the special extent of a pollution or to find pollutants source. The employment of PDA improved the user-interface and data transfer by Internet from on-site to remote computer. We adapted the Lavenberg-Marquardt algorithm based on the back-propagation and proposed the method that could predict the concentration levels of VOC gases after classification by separating neural network into two parts.

This paper analyzed some financial counseling cases on the internet and suggested a framework for the improved financial counseling. Data of 392 financial counseling cases were gathered from the site bulletin board whose members were mostly housewives. The largely demanded contents of counseling were about 1) general financial procedures and the evaluation of household financial condition, 2) saving and investment, 3) buying and canceling insurance, and 4) debt repayment and debt availability. Based on the data analysis, a special format which requires on the personal and financial information of consumers was developed. In a way to help counselors and clients far questions asked often, FAQs is also suggested. Finally the arrangement and development of financial planning related softwares were investigated.

According to complexity and high level of society, the rapid and accurate information for landuse, environment and traffic etc., is required, but the information management by a drawing and a map is confronted with a complicated and sudden change of facilities such as bridge; electricities, city gases and networks. This paper is aim to build a bridge management system of road with GSIS. It operated personal computer will bring easy computing management system of bridge on road. To build this system, presented bridge management system and domestic method for bridge management of road are investigated, and also apply to bridge management system using GSIS for site and character of bridges. And with that, position and character apply to bridge management system using GSIS.

The ballyhoo surrounding internet continues to intensify. This study was made to determine how the hotel food & beverage goods is using this potentially revolutionary marketing and management tool by taking an exploratory look at the internet and at worldwide-web hotel sites. The type of hotel-related sites that exist on the web was examined. To have a successful web site and realize the potential of that tool, one must make some plans carefully Also, being on the internet requires a full marketing strategy, and one must know his own personal goals. The goals are to increase worldwide visibility, upgrade public relations and publicity, develop sales, and include new technology in internal communication. The internet also has a communication function for internal management takes. hotel companies have established themselves on the Web with their own web sites or via a link from a third party. Using the evidence from many of these sites this study reveals the current strengths and weaknesses of the use of the internet as a business and marketing tool by hotel food & beverage goods.

This study deals with the analysis on the consciousness and image character of the internet shopping mall. As consciousness analysis result of internet shopping mall consumer, 'cheap price' and 'convenience' are evaluated high by reason that buy goods/service. 'Delivery delay' shows that deficiency of swiftness is indicated preferentially by shortcoming when the goods/service are purchased at the internet shopping mall. Consumer is prferring most 'deferred payment' with consumer's protection system of internet shopping mall. In image character of internet shopping mall, computer system speed and swiftness of reaction time, intimacy of shopping mall site design, delivery system trustability, goods/service contiguity, trustability of billing system, recognition shopping mall company, consistency about good service etc., showed high assessment, but comparative satisfaction is not high in solution at authoritativeness of personal information leakage prevention, problem occurrence.

In this study, using the synetics technique for strategies by making unfamiliarity into familiarity in the case of 911 terrorism. This study has meaningful messages for citizens and firefighters' illness caused by disaster sites in the field of disaster management in Korea. There are 7 stages to explain cause of a variety of cancers happening to citizens and firefighters in this study. The 7 stages are composed of real situation, direct analogies, personal analogies, symbolic analogies, new direct analogies, and review. This synetics will contribute to providing better ideas for citizens and firefighters' physical and mental health conditions.

The purpose of this study was to examine how residents of assisted living facility (ALF) are satisfied with their residence and to identify the reasons for this satisfaction or dissatisfaction as a home. For this purpose, residents'experiences and opinions of the physical environment, the social environment, and the organizational environments such as policies and programs of ALFs were identified. As a multi-site case study, five ALFS in Southwest Virginia were studied using a cross-case analysis. Face-to-face interviews with 25 residents and five administrators of five ALFs, observations, and personal journal were done. Regardless of the type of facilities and the residents'characteristics, most of the respondents were satisfied with their current dwelling. In spite of high satisfaction with the facility, many people did not think of their current dwelling as a real "home." Residents of ALFs may have reordered their priorities in their current life situation so that safety, security, and care were more important to them than feeling "at home.""at home."

The information protection security diagnosis institution was applied services since 2004, for the leveling up of public information protection and the establishment of the stability and reliability of information communication. And this security diagnosis was implemented actually on the 142 firms in 2005, the 160 firms in 2006 and the 205 firms in 2007. But this is recognized by the some firms as one of the unnecessary regulations. And there are some difficulties with collecting the subjective and reliable source data for establishing the information protection security diagnosis target. In this research, the enhanced model on the selection of information protection security diagnosis target firms was suggested by the interview with some expert and the analysis for the related actual data. By the model which are introduced from the statistical analysis of the related data and the summary of some expert's suggestions, information protection security diagnosis target can include the information telecommunication service providers taking 5 billion won as sales in a year, and web service providers like as shopping mall site, with the personal records of 2 million subscribers.
