The effect of each tooth for optimal design of Hybrid permanent magnet step motor is presented on this paper. For this consideration, Hybrid permanent magnet step motor was designed in the first consideration tooth structure on the stator and the rotor and poles structure, as number of teeth on the stator and the rotor and slot depth and pitch of teeth, simulated by AutoLISP. During actual rotating, a chracteristic of Hybrid permanent magnet step motor which designed by AutoLISP program is considered. A chracteristic of Hybrid permanent magnet step motor is considered in change each variable, also. As a result, it was found that characteristic of Hybrid permanent magnet step motor changed in accordance with tooth structure and number of teeth and optimal design is possible by AutoLISP.

The author has sought to determine the time and the sequence of permanent teeth eruption in Korean children. The study group consisted of 15,671 healthy children (male 8,015 ; female 7,656) aged 5-13 years old who lived in Seoul or Cheongju. The results were as follows : 1. The eruption times of permanent teeth were 0.45 years earlier in females than in males. 2. The ages corresponding to $ER_{50}$ of permanent teeth were as follows : In Maxilla 1) central incisor was 7.37 yrs 2) lateral incisor was 8.50 yrs 3) canine was 10.83 yrs 4) 1st premolar was 10.30 yrs 5) 2nd premolar was 11.09 yrs 6) 1st molar was 6.49 yrs 7) 2nd molar was 12.79 yrs In Mandible 1) central incisor was 6.40 yrs 2) lateral incisor was 7.41 yrs 3) canine was 10.18 yrs 4) 1st premolar was 10.26 yrs 5) 2nd premolar was 11.15 yrs 6) 1st molar was 6.32 yrs 7) 2nd molar was 12.05 yrs 3. The eruption sequence of permanent teeth by Z-test was as follow: In Male 1st : Mandibular 1st molar, and Mandibular central incisor 2nd : Maxillary 1st molar 3rd : Maxillary central incisor 4th : Mandibular lateral incisor 5th : Maxillary lateral incisor 6th : Mandibular canine, Maxillary and Mandibular 1st premolar 7th : Maxillary canine 8th : Maxillary and Mandibular 2nd premolar 9th : Mandibular 2nd molar 10th : Maxillary 2nd molar In Female 1st : Mandibular 1st molar, and Mandibular central incisor 2nd : Maxillary 1st molar 3rd : Mandibular lateral incisor, Maxillary central incisor 4th : Maxillary lateral incisor 5th : Mandibular canine, Maxillary and Mandibular 1st premolar 6th : Maxillary canine 7th : Maxillary and Mandibular 2nd premolar 8th : Mandibular 2nd molar 9th : Maxillary 2nd molar 4. The corresponding permanent teeth in the mandible generally erupted earlier than the corresponding permanent teeth in the maxilla by an average of 0.73 years, but the mean eruption time of mandibular 1st premolars was almost the same as those of maxillary 1st premolars, and the mean eruption time of mandibular 2nd premolars was 0.06 years later than those of maxillary 2nd premolars. 5. There is no significant difference between left and right arch in the eruption time and sequence. 6. Generally, the ages of permanent teeth eruption tended to be earlier than those of Dr. Cha's data from 1963.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to examine the radiographic features associated with impacted premaxillary supernumerary teeth, to determine the relationship between their characteristics and their effects on permanent incisors, and to investigate the types of orthodontic treatment that patients received after the extraction of impacted supernumerary teeth. Materials and Methods: The clinical records and radiographs of 193 patients whose impacted premaxillary supernumerary teeth were removed were retrospectively reviewed, and 241 impacted supernumerary teeth were examined. Cone-beam computed tomographic images and panoramic radiographs were examined to determine the number, location, sagittal position, orientation, and morphology of the supernumerary teeth. Their effects on permanent incisors and the orthodontic treatment received by patients after the extraction of the supernumeraries were also investigated. Results: Supernumerary teeth were most frequently observed in the central incisor region, in the palatal position, in the inverted orientation, and were most commonly conical in shape. The most common complication was median diastema, followed by displacement and delayed eruption of the adjacent incisors. Ten (71.4%) of the 14 odontomas showed delayed eruption of the adjacent incisors. Displacement of the incisors was more frequently observed in association with supernumerary teeth with tuberculate or supplemental shapes. Orthodontic traction was most frequently performed after the removal of odontomas. In 32 cases (13.3%), permanent incisors erupted after the orthodontic creation of sufficient space. Conclusion: Median diastema was most common complication. The delayed eruption of incisors was common in supernumerary teeth with a vertical orientation and an odontoma shape.
In order to develop the programme for the improvement of dental health among primary school children, epidemiological survey to examine dental caries status was conducted among primary school children in Changwon, Korea. We sampled 2 primary schools and surveyed children from first to sixth grade aged 6-11 years. All samples were 3,206 consisted of 1,715 males and 1,491 females. We assessed caries prevalence on permanent teeth. 1. Children with caries experience on permanent teeth were 15.1% at 1st grade, 48.2% at 2nd grade, 73.8% at 3rd grade, 75.6% at 4th grade, 76.8% at 5th grade, 77.4% at 6th grade. 2. Decayed, Missing and Filled teeth were 0.31 at 1st grade, 1.16 at 2nd grade, 2.12 at 3rd grade, 2.38 at 4th grade, 2.50 at 5th grade, 2.69 at 6th grade. 3. Decayed teeth among Decayed, Missing and Filled teeth were totally 63.4%. Filled teeth among Decayed, Missing and Filled teeth were totally 36.6%. 4. Community dental health programmmes including water fluoridation, fluoride mouth rinsing, use of fluoride-containing toothpastes and fissure sealants should be developed to prevent dental caries among school children. 5. School incremental dental care programme should be also developed to prevent and treat children's dental caries by use of dentists and oral hygienists.
This report describes 3 cases of cleidocranial dysplasia (CCD) and presents relevant findings on long-term follow-up radiographic images of impacted permanent teeth with delayed eruption. Radiographic images of 3 CCD patients were reviewed retrospectively. These images were mainly composed of panoramic and skull radiographs, and the follow-up periods were 3, 13, and 13 years, respectively. The distinct features revealed by the images were described, and the eruption state of impacted permanent teeth was evaluated. The features common to the 3 cases were multiple supernumerary teeth, the presence of Wormian bone, underdevelopment of the maxilla and the maxillary sinus, and clavicular hypoplasia. The eruption of impacted permanent teeth was not observed without proper dental treatment in adult CCD cases, even after long time periods had elapsed. When proper orthodontic force was applied, tooth movement was observed in a manner not significantly different from the general population.

The basal cell nevus syndrome is also known as the Gorlin-Goltz syndrom. It is a dominant autosomal disorder which is characterized by keratocystic odontogenic tumors in the jaw, skeletal abnormalities, and multiple basal cell nevi carcinomas. This study reports an 11-year-old boy with multiple odontogenic keratocysts in the jaw, hypertelorism, and frontal bossing. When a young patient has cystic lesions with an impacted permanent teeth, it is important to preserve the teeth. For a growing patient with impacted permanent teeth, a more conservative method is suggested, which will enable the preservation the permanent teeth in Gorlin-Goltz syndrome.
It is well known that the majority of dental injuries occur in children and adolescent. An injury to the teeth can have serious and long-term consequences, leading to their discoloration, malformation, or possible loss. The emotional impact of such an injury can be far reaching. The majority of dental injuries in the primary and permanent dentitions involve the anterior teeth, especially the maxillary central incisors. Concussion, subluxation, and luxation are the commonest injuries in the primary dentition, while uncomplicated crown fractures are commonest in the permanent dentition. If it is decided to preserve a traumatized primary tooth, it should be carefully observed for clinical and radiographic signs of pulpal or periodontal complications. Radiographs are also examined closely to disclose any damage to the permanent successor. The intervals between reexaminations should be individualized depending on the severity of trauma, the expected type of complications and the age of the patient. Most complications are observed within the first year of the trauma. However, the follow-up evaluation of permanent teeth should continue until treatment of all complications is completed, or until a lost or extracted permanent tooth has been adequately replaced. It is important that the dentist and the other members of the dental team are well prepared to meet the many complex and challenging problems in the care of dental emergencies.
The present study attempts to find the ways to efficiently manage dental caries, one of the major causes of tooth loss, and to cope with oral diseases that deteriorate oral health. For this purpose, this study seeks to obtain fundamental data needed in planning the oral health projects. The study was conducted to the first-grade elementary school students in Hwa-Seong city, Gyeonggi-do, from April 1 - 30, 2002. The result was as follows: 1) Among a total of 2,710 subjects, 598 (274 boys and 324 girls) have more than 1 permanent tooth with a caries legion whether it was treated or not. 2) The number of permanent teeth examined is 6,029, in which girls' teeth are more (3,165) than boys' (2,864). 3) Out of a total of 6,029 teeth examined, 1,106 permanent teeth (508 boys' and 598 girls') have caries legions. 4) Out of 1,106 permanent teeth with caries legions, 170 (15.4%) were treated - 67 teeth for boys (13.2%) and 103 teeth for girls (17.2%). 5) 22.1% of the children have experienced dental caries in their permanent teeth. Among them, 20.1% are boys and 24.1% are girls. 6) The rate of the permanent teeth that once had, or now have caries legions are 21.2%, among which the rate for boy's teeth is 20.1% and that for girl's teeth is 22.1%. 7) The number of the permanent teeth that had caries legions is 0.5 for all the subjects. A boy has 0.4 and a girl has 0.5 teeth with caries legions regardless of whether it was treated or not. 8) The rate of the permanent teeth with caries legions is 86.7% for overall subjects - 88.3% for boys and 85.3% for girls. 9) The rate of treated permanent teeth is 13.3% for all the subjects - 11.7% for boys and 14.7% for girls. Based on the above result, the study draws a conclusion that in order to prevent dental caries in young students and to perform an early treatment for the dental caries that already occurred an oral health office should be installed at all the elementary schools so that elementary school students don't experience a loss of time and effort for learning and suffer nutritional imbalance or disorder. Besides, the oral health education concerning the importance of dental care should be conducted to the citizens, especially to the young people, in the community as an essential project of oral health centers in the community health offices, the public medical institutions.

The term "Oligodontia" or "Hypodontia" have been used to describe variable degrees of reduction in number of teeth. Oligodontia may occur alone or as a result of some syndrome. Although the teeth are derived in part from ectoderm, the current opinion of reason of oligodontia should be reserved for those disorders in which there is abnormal development of one or more ectodermal tissues. 7 year 5 months old female was refered to the department of pedodontics, college of dentistry Yonsei university for evaluation and replacement of absent teeth. She had no special inf.ectious disease in her childhood, and her parents were healthy. She had no special syndrome of ectodermal disorders except the saddle nose, yellow and fine hair, and notched upper anterior central incisor. Panex radiogram was showing 6 anterior primary teeth, 2 permanent first molars and 2 unerupted first bicuspid in mandible. Another permanent teeth were absent. and normal number of primary and permanent teeth in maxilla. Lateral cephalogram showed no special abnormality in growth pattern. We had evaluated lower anterior decayed teeth with jacket resin and chrome steel crown and removable partial denture at missing area. We had got good results for rehabilitation of function and aesthetic.

The effect of primary tooth infection on permanent teeth was reported by many previous study. It is seen histologic change in the enamel forming organ and in the surrounding sac, thus produce the defect as either hypoplasia or hypocalcification and alter the eruption of the permanent teeth. The periapical inflammation cause permanent tooth displacement in various direction and can be classified into the three categories : rotation, deflection inversion. This study reported case which displacement of succedaneous teeth may be caused by periapical infection of primary dentition and concluded that treatment procedure of infected primary tooth is selected and performed by importance to retain the tooth for space maintain, possibility to successfully restored, evidence of abnormal development of the succedaneous tooth.
