  • In this thesis, We propose the self-directed learning and test-performing abilities assessment method to evaluate the learning and the test-performing abilities in which learners can not only control their own learning abilities for themselves, but also judge objectively learning and test-performing abilities. This method shows the membership degree of learning and test-performing abilities by using both the triangle-type membership function and the fuzzy logic. In addition, it gives the fuzzy grades to each item. The final membership degrees are calculated and the fuzzy grades are decided by the operation and composition of fuzzy relations on the membership degrees of learning and test-performing abilities. In this method, which is applicable to a writing subject for information searchers, learners are asked to analyse the membership degrees of the learning and test-performing abilities and the final fuzzy grades and to adjust a learning process for themselves.

  • This paper presents an efficient algorithm for converting the boundary representation of a polyhedron to its corresponding octree representation which is convenient for detecting intersection between objects. In order to determine the states of octants efficiently and quickly, our algorithm consists of three basic processes which use the bounding box, the infinite plane and the projection. In our conversion algorithm, the states of octants are determined by performing one of these three processes according to the intersecting pattern of an octant with a polyhedron, instead of by performing only a face-to-face intersection test repeatedly. In particular, states of 8 suboctants are determined completely by performing the process using only the infinite plane, when the given octant is intersected with only a patch of the polyhedron. Finally, by using a 3D display method and a volume ratio method, it is confirmed that the octree converted by out algorithm is accurate. It is also confirmed that the conversion time is reduced in our algorithm.

  • Determining the most likelihood earthquake scenario in one region is very important for performing an earthquake-resistant design. The most likelihood earthquake scenario can be selected by performing deaggregation, who classifies earthquakes that occur ground motion exceeding a specific acceleration as each distance and each earthquake magnitude. If earthquakes are classified, the most likelihood earthquake scenario can be selected. Earthquake hazard analysis method that have to be performed before deaggregation follows the method that Ministry of Construction & Transportation presented. As a result of performing deaggregation at longitude 127.35 and latitude 34.7, presentable seismic ground motion scenarios can be selected at each recurrence period.

  • The study examines the impact of bank-level factors like non-performing assets, capital adequacy, and insolvency risk on bank performance. This study employs a quantitative method with panel data regression. The data was taken from the annual financial statements of state-owned commercial banks and private commercial banks in Indonesia from 2015 to 2019 using a purposive sampling method with a total sample of 470 observations. The result of the study shows that non-performing assets (NPA) have a significant negative impact on bank performance. Capital adequacy has a significant negative impact on bank performance. Insolvency risk for a bank means it cannot repay its depositors because its liabilities are greater than its assets; therefore, it has a significant impact on bank performance. This study is expected to help banks to understand how to manage the risks they face and to maintain their performance. This study uses 'size' and 'age of bank' as control variables and for credit risk and insolvency risk, Z-Score is used.

  • The purpose of this paper is to suggest a discourse analysis activity that can be used in the stage after performing tasks in task-based Korean speaking class and show its pedagogical advantages. A discourse analysis activity is an metadiscourse activity in which learners speak what they have spoken. By analyzing discourse and performing tasks again, learners can enhance their fluency and accuracy, make their knowledges in target language more stable and extend them, and develop problem solving skills. Consequently, this facilitates learners' acquisition of Korean language. This paper reviewed theoretical background of proposing discourse analysis activity, suggested the pedagogical advantages of the analysis, and examined discourse analysis activity in Korean speaking class. And it included the discourse sample of learners in actual class.
