ATM is the transport method for the broadband integrated services digital networks(B-ISDN). It may replace existing LAN, MAN and WAN technologies such as CSMA/CD, FDDI, Frame relay, X.25, etc. But it is more complicate than existing network technologies. One of the main difficulties in ATM network is performance management. Specifically, the problems are evaluating the performance and tuning the values of the performance parameters, The goal of this paper is to introduce a system architecture designed for ATM network performance management, The major ingredients of the system are generic performance parameters In be measured from ATM network, performance evaluation models and decision criteria concerning the network performance. In this paper, general requirements for performance management application in ATM network are discussed.

The purpose of this study is to suggest a practical way to measure and report corporate social performance as public interest in corporate social value pursuits increases. In particular, we will look for ways to measure and report on the financial and social performance of a company based on the concept of the Double Bottom Line (DBL), which has recently spread to big companies. For this purpose, this study analyzed the theoretical background and practical techniques related to measuring and reporting corporate social performance, and examined methods for measuring and reporting social performance in the existing financial performance measurement system. As a result, SROI was the most suitable method for measuring social performance of a company. It is recommended that social performance reporting follows the disclosure method of the accounting system, and the details of reporting suggest that using the standard of GRI Standard, an international standard related to sustainability reporting, is the most reasonable alternative to 'Double Bottom Line' performance reporting.

The performances of side channel type regenerative blowers were evaluated by the blower performance test, 1-D performance prediction and CFD. The performance prediction method was modified using the results of the performance test and CFD and applied to the design of the new regenerative blowers. The major geometric parameters such as channel height, channel area and expansion angle were decided from the performance prediction method for the improved models and the predicted results were compared with CFD and experimental data. Both of the modified models showed improved efficiency at the operating condition. Especially, model3 could be possible to reduce operating rotating speed, that is benefit to noise performance, because of the high head performance at the design point. The CFD results showed that the performance of the regenerative blower was influenced by the secondary circulatory flow in the channel.

The government has enforced Housing Performance Grade Indication System (Article 21, Paragraph 2 of Housing Act) starting January 2006 for the purpose of giving users in hope of toying an apartment opportunities to select housing based on personal preferences by providing information on housing performance at the time of tenant recruitment announcement as well as securing desirable environment (comfort) by encouraging construction companies to build housing of the indicated performance level. The acoustic performance indication items include three items such as floor impact isolation performance(light weight impact sound, heavy weight impact sound), bathroom noise and insulation performance of boundary walls between households. This paper explains the background, the basis of creation and evaluation method focused on the acoustic environment performance helping for the developer of technique and a staff in charge of construction business who cope with this system.

An understanding of performance of database driven network applications is critical in combating slow performance of e-commerce web sites, besides efficient web page design, and high quality and well-maintained web server equipment. This paper describes a method of measuring performance from the user viewpoint, which can help enormously in making realistic assessment of true performance of database driven applications. The performance measurements were taken at user locations by using several specially designed JavaScript functions along with ASP scripts. A performance study is presented in this paper, comparing performance of data access using stored procedures with the traditional way of querying a database. It is generally believed that stored procedures have performance benefits as they are pre-compiled. However, our study shows that the data access approach using stored procedures provides significant benefits(by about 30%) over the traditional approach for querying a commercial MySQL database, only when retrieving a substantial amount of data(at least 10,000 rows of data).

We need to develop a on-line thermal performance analysis system for nuclear power plant to determine performance status and heat rate of turbine cycle. We have developed PERUPS(PERformance Upgrade System) to aid the effective performance analysis of turbine cycle. Procedures of performance calculation are improved using several adaptations from standard calculation algorithms based on PTC(Performance Test Code). Robustness in the on-line performance analysis is increased by verification & validation scheme for measured input data. The system also provides useful web interfaces for performance analysis such as graphic heat balance of turbine cycle and components, turbine expansion lines, automatic generation of analysis report. The system was successfully applied for YongGwang nuclear plant unit #3,4.

We developed the PERUPS system to aid the on-line performance analysis for the turbine cycle of the YongGwang 3 and 4 nuclear power plants. Procedure of measurement validation is included in the performance calculation to obtain heat balance. Precision of on-line performance calculation is increased via practical modifications of standard calculation algorithms based on the PTC (Performance Test Code). The proposed system also provides useful Web-based aids for performance analysis, including performance data management, a graphic viewer for heat balance and turbine expansion lines, and synthesized reports of performance.

In this article, We propose research propositions about correlates of job interest, job difficulty, job effort, and job performance as well as job performance and emotions while working. The purpose of this study is to review existing research on emotions and job performance, particularly emotions at work. The purpose of this article is to review existing research on job performance and emotions, particularly at the job relevant cognitions level. In this study, We propose research propositions about correlates of job performance and emotions while working. The purpose of this article is to develop and propose research propositions about potential correlates of perceived performance at the job relevant level. Correlates include those that should function mainly as antecedents of performance, such as job difficulty, job interest, and job effort in the study are emotions experienced concurrently with job performance. Therefore, We suggest the predictive direction and bivariate relationship of the set of among variables in explaining job performance and emotions.

This study analyzes the space composition and the construction system of performance facilities, and research the area construction ratio of each necessary space to establish the specialized performance facilities. This study aims the exclusive facilities for opera among the various performance facilities at home and abroad. The results are as following, 1) Performance space is divided into Public space, Performance space and Administration space on the basis of user. 2) The difference in the scale of performance facilities depends on the fractionation of performance supporting facilities and the grade of specialty rather than the number of seats. 3) The scale and zoning of space in the performance facilities to be built in the future, it is necessary to consider ensuring the production support space, the organic connection of support space and the integrated public space.

The purpose of this research is to identify the effect of quality circles activities upon quality circles performance and business performance. Empirical results indicate that quality circle activities influence on quality circles performance in both individual and enterprise level, Quality circles performance influences on not employment satisfaction but customer satisfaction, business performance (profitability and market values) of companies with quality circles is higher than that of companies without quality circles. In conclusion, quality circle activities influence on quality circles performance that effect on business performance.
