Development of a Pneumatic Semi-Automatic Clutch for Commercial Vehicles based on the CAN Communication (CAN통신 기반의 상용차용 공압구동형 세미오토 클러치 개발)

  • A semi-automatic clutch was developed for drivers of vehicles with manual transmission. The clutch is operated by pressing a switch on the gear stick without stepping on a clutch pedal when the driver wants to shift gears. To automatic control a clutch, driving information is provided by sensors installed under the vehicle. On the other hand, sensors are prone to failure under severe driving conditions and a long time is needed to install or repair these sensors in the vehicle. In this paper, a semi-automatic clutch that received driving information by CAN communication from the ECU was developed and a pneumatic actuator was used to operate the clutch. The semi-automatic clutch by a pneumatic cylinder was operated with a supply air pressure of more than 3bar.

A Study on the Meaning of Splenic Constipation Syndrome(脾約證) in Shanghanlun(傷寒論) (『상한론(傷寒論)』 비약증(脾約證)의 의미에 대한 소고(小考) - 179조와 247조의 비교를 중심으로 -)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate splenic constipation syndrome(脾約證) in Shanghanlun by comparing 179 & 247 provisions. Methods : Including Shanghanlun, several texts which contain Cheng Wu-ji, Wan Mi-zhai, Qian Huang, Zhu Gong, Fang You-zhi, Yu Jia-yan, Zhang Lu, Cheng Ying-mao, Zhang Xi-ju, Chen Xiu-yuan, Wu Qian, Xu Ling-tai, You Zai-jing, Zhu Dan-xi's opinion about the splenic constipation syndrome were chosen and comparative consideration was carried out. Results & Conclusions : The following conclusions could be drawn. 247 provisions in Shanghanlun is different from 179 provisions because the beginning of the each splenic constipation syndrome is different. The difference between 179 & 247 provisions are proved by comparing Mild Purgative Decoction which is used Taiyangyangming splenic constipation syndrome and Fructus Cannabis Pill which is used Dorsal pedal pulse splenic constipation syndrome. Cheng Wu-ji's opinion that 179 & 247 provisions is different is meaningful because he is first investigated the different beginning of the splenic constipation syndrome. Several annotator's opinion which oppose Cheng Wu-ji is majority and they set a high value on Jangbu(臟腑) factor. Several annotator's opinion which agree Cheng Wu-ji is minority and they set a high value on splenic constipation syndrome also begins from Taiyangbing. The concept of overlapping of Taiyangyangming is different from the concept of Taiyangyangming. Consequently 179 & 247 provisions has to be distinguished.

Blue Toe Syndrome: A Case Report (청색 발가락 증후군: 증례 보고)

  • Purpose: Blue toe syndrome consists of blue or purplish toes in the absence of a history of obvious trauma, serious cold exposure, or disorders producing generalized cyanosis. It is a life-threatening and still underrecognized disease. It can be commonly occurred by vascular surgery, invasive cutaneous procedures or anticoagulant therapy. Our case is presented of blue toe syndrome related to atheromatous embolization that was presumably triggered by angio CT. Methods: A 69-year-old man presented with the suddenly developed pain, cyanosis and livedo reticularis of the toes in right foot. Dorsalis pedis pulses were palpable. He had been performed a diagnostic angio CT 1 month earlier. Angio CT revealed diffuse aortic atheromatous plaque in lower abdominal aorta and both common iliac artery. One month after angio CT, he visited our clinic. There was no visible distal first dorsal metatarsal artery and digital artery of right first toe in lower extremity arteriography. A diagnosis was established of blue toe syndrome. Because his symptom was aggravated, we performed the exploration of the right foot. After exposure of first dorsal metatarsal artery, microsurgical atheroembolectomy was done. Results: There were no postoperative complications. After three months the patient had no clinically demonstrable problems. Conclusion: Patient with blue toe syndrome is at high risk of limb loss and mortality despite treatment. Blue toe syndrome produces painful, cyanosed toes with preserved pedal pulses. It needs to be aware of blue toe syndrome. Careful history should reveal the diagnosis. Treatment is controversial, however, most believe that anticoagulation therapy should be avoided.

Detection Method of Vehicle Fuel-cut Driving with Deep-learning Technique (딥러닝 기법을 이용한 차량 연료차단 주행의 감지법)

  • The Fuel-cut driving is started when the acceleration pedal released with transmission gear engaged. Fuel economy of the vehicle improves by active fuel-cut driving. A deep-learning technique is proposed to predict fuel-cut driving with vehicle speed, acceleration and road gradient data in the study. It's 3~10 of hidden layers and 10~20 of variables and is applied to the 9600 data obtained in the test driving of a vehicle in the road of 12km. Its accuracy is about 84.5% with 10 variables, 7 hidden layers and Relu as activation function. Its error is regarded from the fact that the change rate of input data is higher than the rate of fuel consumption data. Therefore the accuracy can be better by the normalizing process of input data. It's unnecessary to get the signal of vehicle injector or OBD, and a deep-learning technique applied to the data to be got easily, like GPS. It can contribute to eco-drive for the computing time small.

  • This paper presents an interactive wind system that generates artificial winds in a virtual reality (VR) environment according to online user inputs from a steering wheel and an acceleration pedal. Our system is composed of a head-mounted display (HMD) and three electric fans to make the user sense touch from the winds blowing from three different directions in a racing car VR application. To evaluate the effectiveness of the winds for reducing VR cybersickness, we employ the simulator sickness questionnaire (SSQ), which is one of the most common measures for cybersickness. We conducted experiments on 13 subjects for the racing car contents first with the winds and then without them or vice versa. Our results showed that the VR contents with the artificial winds clearly reduce cybersickness while providing a positive user experience.

  • In this study, Speed-sensitive vehicle brake using the LED, When the driver presses the brake pedal, range step while being turned in connection taillights brake of the vehicle, such as speed-sensitive vehicle brake using the LED, It is turned on according to the deceleration of the vehicle to be series of points are displayed. The rear vehicle can prevent collision about an abrupt stop of preceding vehicle by perceiving deceleration state of preceding vehicle easier and faster. Also, if the inter-vehicle distance by using an ultrasonic sensor is closer than a certain distance, the emergency light turns on to convey the situation to the driver of the rear vehicle with a buzzer.

  • This study is a study on System On Chip (SOC) that implements virtual engine sound in electric vehicles without engines, and realizes vivid engine sound by combining Adaptive Difference PCM (ADPCM) method and frequency modulation method for satisfaction of driver's needs and safety of pedestrians. In addition, by proposing an electronic sound synthesis algorithm applying Musical Instrument Didital Interface (MIDI), an engine sound synthesis method and a constitutive model of an engine sound generation system are presented. In order to satisfy both drivers and pedestrians, this study uses Controller Area Network (CAN) communication to receive information such as Revolution Per Minute (RPM), vehicle speed, accelerator pedal depressed amount, torque, etc., transmitted according to the driver's driving habits, and then modulates the frequency according to the appropriate preset parameters We implemented an interaction algorithm that accurately reflects the intention of the system and driver by using interpolation for the system, ADPCM algorithm for reducing the amount of information, and MIDI format information for making engine sound easier.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the asymmetrical difference between the use of leg muscles on the surgical and non-surgical sides during initial lower extremity ergometer exercise after unilateral knee arthroplasty. Methods: Twelve elderly patients diagnosed with degenerative arthritis of the knee and who underwent unilateral arthroplasty were included in this study. The leg length of each subject was taken into account when setting the application distance of the lower extremity ergometer. The same pedal resistance, strength, and speed were used for all the subjects. The total angle of use of the ergometer (360°) was analyzed by dividing it into an extension section and a flexion section. Using a surface electromyography system, the activities of the muscles of the surgical and non-surgical sides were converted into maximal voluntary isometric contraction (MVIC) and analyzed using the paired t-test. Results: When the activities of the muscles on the surgical and non-surgical sides were compared, it was found that the rectus femoris and biceps femoris had significant differences in the flexion and extension sections (p < .05), and that the tibialis anterior significantly differed in the flexion section (p < .05). There was no significant difference in the extension section of the tibialis anterior muscle, or in the flexion and extension sections of the gastrocnemius (p >.05). Conclusion: The results of this study confirm that the rectus femoris, tibialis anterior, biceps femoris, and gastrocnemius on the surgical side act in an opposite manner to those on the non-surgical side during pedaling in the same section.

Exploration of Neurophysiological Mechanisms underlying Action Performance Changes caused by Semantic Congruency between Perceived Action Verbs and Current Actions (지각된 행위동사와 현재 행위의 의미 일치성에 따른 행위 수행 변화의 신경생리학적 기전 탐색)

  • Recent fMRI and EEG research for neural representations of action concepts insist that processing of action concepts evoke the simulation of sensory-motor information. Moreover, there are several behavioral studies showing that understanding of action verbs or sentences describing actions interfere or facilitate current action performance. However, it is unclear that online interaction between processing of action concepts and current action is based on the simulation of sensory-motor information, or other neural mechanisms. The present research aims to explore the underlying neural mechanism that how the perception of action language influence the performance of current action using high-spacial temporal resolution EEG and multiple source analysis techniques. For this, participants were asked to perform a cued-motor reaction task in which button-pressing hand action and pedal-stepping foot action were required according to the color of the cue, and we presented auditorily action verbs describing the responding actions (i.e., /press/, /step/, /stop/) just before the color cue and examined the interaction effect from the semantic congruency between the action verbs and the current action. Behavioral results revealed consistently a facilitatory effect when action verbs and responding actions were semantically congruent in both button-pressing and pedal-stepping actions, and an inhibitory effect when semantically incongruent in the button-pressing action condition. In the results of EEG source waveform analysis, the semantic congruency effects between action verbs and the responding actions were observed in the Wernicke's area during the perception of action verbs, in the anterior cingulate gyrus and the supplementary motor area (SMA) at the time when the motor-cue was presented, and in the SMA and primary motor cortex (M1) during action execution stage. Based on the current findings, we argue that perceived action verbs evoke the facilitation/inhibition effect by influencing the expectation and preparation stage of following actions rather than the directly activating the particular motor cortex. Finally we discussed the implication on the neural representation of action concepts and methodological limitations of the current research.

Comparison of Tiletamine/Zolanzepam, Xylazine - Tiletamine/Zolazepam and Medetomidine-Tiletamine/Zolazepam Anesthesia in Dogs (개에서 Tiletamine/Zolazepam, Xylazine-Tiletamine/Zolazepam과 Medetomidine-Tiletamine/Zolazepam의 마취효과)

  • The cardiopulmonary and anesthetic effects of tiletamine/zolazepam(TZ, 10 mg/kg IV), xylazine-tiletamine /zolazepam(XTZ, X: 1.1 mg/kg IM, TZ: 10 mg/kg IV) and medetomid-ine-tiletamine/zolazepam(MTZ, M: 30$\mu\textrm{g}$/kg IM, TZ: 10 mg/kg IV) were evaluated to 15 healthy mongrel dogs (4.16$\pm$0.65 kg). These dogs were randomly assigned to the three treatment groups(Control, XTZ, MTZ) with 5 dogs in each group. All experimental animals were premedicated with atropine(0.03 mg/kg, IM). Xylazine or medetomidine were administered to dogs in XTZ group and MTZ group 10 minutes after atropine injection. TZ was administered 20 minutes after atropine injection in all groups. The loss of pain response at pedal reflex and ear pinching tests in XTZ and MTZ groups were much longer compared with those of Control group(P < 0.01). All dogs in this study showed head rocking and hypersalivation during recovery time. Body temperature decreased progressively during experimental period in all groups, but it was not significant. After TZ injection, heart beat rate significantly increased 10 and 20 minutes in Control group, and 20 and 40 minutes in XTZ group(P < 0.05). Respiratory rate significantly decreased 0,10,20 and 40 minutes after 72 injection in XTZ and MTZ groups. In Control group, systolic arterial pressure (SAP) 20 minutes. diastolic arterial pressure(DAP) 10 minutes and mean arterial pressures (MAP) 10 and 20 minutes after 72 injection significantly decreased(P < 0.05). In XTZ group, SAP, DAP and MAP significantly decreased 20 and 40 minutes after 72 injection(P < 0.05). Thus, it was considered that XTZ and MTZ were useful in a canine surgical treatment that requires long anesthetic duration and deep analgesia.
