In this paper, a novel hybrid configuration combining a phase-shift full-bridge (PSFB) and a half-bridge resonant LLC converter is proposed for the On-Board Charger of Electric Vehicles (EVs). In the proposed converter, the PSFB converter shares the lagging-leg switches with half-bridge resonant converter to achieve the wide ZVS range for the switches and to improve the efficiency. The output voltage is modulated by the effective-duty-cycle of the PSFB converter. The proposed converter employs an active reset circuit composed of an active switch and a diode for the transformer which makes it possible to achieve zero circulating current and the soft switching characteristic of the primary switches and rectifier diodes regardless of the load, thereby making the converter highly efficient and eliminating the reverse recovery problem of the diodes. In addition an optimal power sharing strategy is proposed to meet the specification of the charger and to optimize the efficiency of the converter. The operation principle the proposed converter and design considerations for high efficiency are presented. A 6.6 kW prototype converter is fabricated and tested to evaluate its performance at different conditions. The peak efficiency achieved with the proposed converter is 97.7%.

Measurerments of ultrasonic signals caused by corona discharges were perforrred by using an ultrasonic meeasurerment technique to analyze the deve1qxrent states of coronas in a high-voltage power apparatus. We also examined the relationship between discharge magnitude and ultrasonic pulse number to diagnose the deterioration of electrical insulation by corona discharges. From these results, it was found that ultrasonic signals due to corona discharges can be firstly detected at the peak value of positive polarities prior to the breakdown voltages, and the magnitude of ultrasonic signals was closely related to the current pulses by the corona discharges when ac voltages were gradually raised, and it appeared that ultrasonic pulse number was proportional to discharge magnitude. Attenuation, tirre-delaying and directivity charocteristics of ultrasonic signals propagated to air by using ultrasonic oscillation and receiving systems are feJXlrt.ed as a basic data of ultrasonic measurements in out-door HV apparatus.aratus.

Due to the rapid development of wireless networking system, researches on the communication devices are mainly focus on microwave frequency devices such as filters, resonators, and phase shifters. Among them, Film bulk acoustic resonator (FBAR) has been paid extensive attentions for their high performance. In this research, ZnO thin films were deposited by RF-magnetron sputtering on Al/$SiO_2$/Si wafer and then crystalline properties and surface morphology were examined. To measure crystalline structure and surface morphology X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) were employed. It was showed that crystalline properties of ZnO thin films were strongly dependant on the deposition conditions. As increasing the deposition temperature and the deposition pressures, the peak intensities of ZnO(002) plane were increased until $300^{\circ}C$, then decreased rapidly. At the sputtering conditions of RF power of 213 W and working pressure of 15 m Torr, ZnO film had excellent c-axis orientation, surface morphology, and adhesion to the substrate. In conclusion we optimized smooth surface with very small grains as well as highly c-axis oriented ZnO film for FBAR applications.

The evolution of deep-sea waves is driven by energy input from wind, nonlinear energy transfer between wave components, and dissipation through whitecaps. A comparative study was implemented by the use of two wave models in which only the computation methods of nonlinear wave-wave interactions are different from each other. It was reaffirmed that the nonlinear interaction plays a central role in such phenomena that occurred during the spectral growth of wind-seas as down-shift of the spectral peak frequency, overshoot, undershoot, and formation of self-similar spectrum. Specifically, the directional distribution at high frequencies develops into bimodal form, which is attributed to the nonlinear interactions. As saturation stage is reached, spectral density at high frequencies becomes proportional to negative 4 power to the frequency. Perturbations introduced into the spectrum quickly vanished through the actions of the self-similar mechanism. Thus, the nonlinear transfer has important contribution to the stability of numerical ocean wave models.

In this study, a dual fuel engine fueled with natural gas and diesel was tested to investigate the effects of heating value variation of CNG fuel. CNG substitution rate which is defined as the ratio of CNG and diesel supplied in a heating value basis was fixed at 80%. The higher heating value was varied from $10,400kcal/Nm^3$ to $9,400kcal/Nm^3$ by mixing nitrogen gas with pure CNG and diesel fuel was injected at a fixed injection timing. The engine test results showed that thermal efficiency and power output were decreased as the heating value of mixed CNG fuel was decreased. And the peak cylinder pressure was also decreased but the ignition delay time and the combustion duration and timing were almost same.
The purpose of this paper analyzes and investigates the failure case studies of electronic control sensors for a LP gas engine. The malfunction of crank angle sensor, which controls a fuel injection volume of LP gas, displays an irregular and non-uniform pulse wave form. The pulse form, which is related to the noise of the crank angle sensor, displays at the rectangular peak with a saw-toothed shape and is intermittently generated with a level of 2.46V noise signal. The malfunction of No. 1 TDC sensor in which is caused from the internal disorder affects to the reduction of engine power and engine stop suddenly. If the malfunction of oxygen sensor is occurred due to a wiring problem of a sensor connector, the LP gas vehicle may produce a shaking and disharmony of an engine because of no signal supply from the oxygen sensor. The air cleaner replica produces the clogging of continuous supply of fresh air. This may cause the retardation of vehicle acceleration and engine disharmony intermittently.

In this work, we designed and fabricated a multilayer thin film Pb(Zr,Ti)$O_3$ cantilever with a Si proof mass for low frequency vibration energy harvesting applications. A mathematical model of a mu lti-layer composite beam was derived and applied in a parametric analysis of the piezoelectric cantilever. Finally, the dimensions of the cantilever were determined for the resonant frequency of the cantilever. W e fabricated a device with beam dimensions of about 4,930 ${\mu}M$${\times}$ 450 ${\mu}M$${\times}$ 12 ${\mu}M$, and an integrated Si proof mass with dimensions of about 1,410 ${\mu}M$${\times}$ 450 ${\mu}M$${\times}$ 450 ${\mu}M$. The resonant frequency, maximum peak voltage, and highest average power of the cantilever device were 84.5 Hz, 88 mV, and 0.166 ${\mu}Wat$ 1.0 g and 23.7 ${\Omega}$, respectively. The dimensions of the cantilever were determined for the resonance frequency of the cantilever.

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have been spotlighted as one of promising field emission displays(FEDs). For the first time, to authors knowledge, we have developed the 9" color CNT-FEDs with the resolution of 240x576 lines. The 9" CNT-FEDs with diode-type and triode-type structures are presented. The well-dispersed CNT paste was squeezed onto the metal-patterned cathode glass. For the anode plate, the Y2O2S:Eu, ZnS:Ag,Cl low-voltage phosphors were printed for red, green, and blue colors, respectively. The vacuum-packaged panel maintained the vacuum level of 1x10-7 Torr. The uniform moving images vacuum-packaged panel maintained the vacuum level of 1x10-7 Torr. The uniform moving images were demonstrated at 2 V/um. High brightness of 800, 200, and 150cd/m2 was observed on the green, red, and blue phosphors at V/um, respectively. Field emission characteristics of a triode-type CNT-FED were simulated using a finite element method. the resultant field strength on the cathode was modulated by gate bias and emitted electrons were focused on the anode. A relatively uniform emission image was experimentally achieved at the 800V anode. A relatively uniform emission image was experimentally achieved at the 800V anode and the 50-180 V gate biases. Energy distribution of electrons emitted from CNTs was measured using an energy analyzer. The maximum peak of energy curve corresponded to the Fermi energy level of CNTs. The whole fabrication processed of CNT-FEDs were fully scalable and reproducible. Our CNT-FEDs has demonstrated the high potential of large-area and full-color applications with very low cost fabrication and low power consumption.

Surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices have become more important as mobile telecommunication systems need h호-frrequency, low-loss, and down-sized components. Higher-frequency SAW divices can be more sasily realized by developing new h호-SAW-velocity materials. The ZnO/diamond/Si multilasyer structure is one of the most promising material components for GHz-band SAW filters because of its SAW velocity above 10,000 m/sec. Silicon carbide is also a potential candidate material for high frequency, high power and radiation resistive electronic devices due to its superior mechanical, thermal and electronic properties. However, high price of commercialized 6- or 4H-SiC single crystalline wafer is an obstacle to apply SiC to high frequency SAW devices. In this study, single crystalline 3C-SiC thin films were grown on Si (100) by MOCVD using bis-trimethylsilymethane (BTMSM, C7H20Si7) organosilicon precursor. The 3C-SiC film properties were investigated using SEM, TEM, and high resolution XRD. The FWHM of 3C-SiC (200) peak was obtained 0.37 degree. To investigate the SAW propagation characteristics of the 3C-SiC films, SAW filters were fabricated using interdigital transducer electrodes on the top of ZnO/3C-SiC/Si(100), which were used to excite surface acoustic waves. SAW velocities were calculated from the frequency-response measurements of SAW filters. A generalized SAW mode. The hard 3C-SiC thin films stiffened Si substrate so that the velocities of fundamental and the 1st mode increased up to 5,100 m/s and 9,140 m/s, respectively.
Piezoelectric ZnO thin films were deposited on 7059 glass substrate by rf magnetron sputtering. The effects of deposition parameter, such as rf power, gas pressure and $O_{2}$/Ar gas ratio, on the crystallinity and electrical properties of the deposited ZnO thin films were studied. It was found that the deposition rate was higher than the previously reported values. ZnO films were suitable for SAW filter since a standard deviation of XRD (002) peak rocking curve was less than $6^{\circ}$. ZnO thin films, which were deposited at $O_{2}$/Ar ratio larger than 25%, showed high resistance. SAW filter was fabricated using ZnO film, of which thickness was 0.25 of the wavelength of the propatating surface acoustic wave. The measured frequency response was consistent with the calculated one. The SAW filter had center frequency 39.08 MHz, phase velocity 2501 m/sec and insertion loss 29 dB.
