훈침의 미주신경 실신 측면으로 이해와 적절한 예방과 조치 (Understanding Acupuncture Needle-Associated Vasovagal Syncope for the Purpose of Preventing and Managing Adverse Events)

  • Objectives : Needle sickness is one of the adverse events of acupuncture, although substantial adverse effects during a routine acupuncture treatment seem to be highly unusual. In this work, we propose that an acupuncture-related vasovagal response resembles needle sickness during acupuncture therapy. Methods : In this article, we discussed the general characteristics of vasovagal syncope and went into more detail on vasovagal syncope in people who have a fear of blood injection and injury. We also offer a recommendation for the prevention and management of vasovagal syncope brought on by acupuncture. Results : The vasovagal reaction related to acupuncture is closely associated with needle sickness. The prevention can be done using PEACHES (position, experience, anxiety, constitution, hydration, environment, symptom recognition) principles. The management should be conducted using the RIPCORD (recognize, initiate, position, communicate, order treatments, reassess, document) techniques. Conclusions : It is important to comprehend the characteristics of needle sickness as a vasovagal reaction related to acupuncture. According to the recommendation, practitioners should effectively prevent and manage needle sickness.

서울지역 초등학교 급식에서 제공하는 후식 메뉴의 인식, 기호도 및 만족도 조사 (Study on Recognition, Acceptance, and Satisfaction of Dessert Menus on Elementary School Food Services in Seoul Province)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate perception, acceptance and satisfaction of dessert menu in elementary school children. Five hundred students (246 male, 254 female) were recruited at the elementary schools in Seoul. The results show that dessert menus of elementary school lunches are needed to satisfy diverse acceptance and preference levels of children. For dessert items chocolate milk among beverage items, peaches among fruits, chocolate cookies among cookies, piece cake among breads and honey rice cake among rice cakes presented high acceptance scores. Furthermore, fruits, ice creams, juices and cookies were the most liked food items. Taste and health of desserts were important factors in perception of dessert. Rice cake (48.6%), a Korean traditional food, was the most preferred food item, followed by tea punch (31.2%), Korean cracker (10.0%) and Shanja (4.0%). Taste (51.4%) was considered as the most important factor for improvement of dessert, and increasing variety of dessert items (43.4%) was considered as the most important factor affecting demand of dessert. It is suggested that continuous update of school dessert menus is needed to meet consumers' demands and health aspects. Furthermore, Korean traditional desserts might be the key for improving satisfaction in desserts in elementary school lunches.

SPECTROSCOPIC AND CHEMOMETRIC ANALYSIS OF SW-NIR SPECTRA OF SUGARS AND FRUITS

  • Fruit sweetness, as indexed by total soluble solids (TSS), and fruit acidity are key factors in the description of the fruit eating quality. Our group has been using short wave NIR spectroscopy (SW-NIR; 700-1100 nm) in combination with chemometric methods (PLS and MLR) for the non-invasive determination of the fruit eating quality (1,2). In order to further improve calibration performance, we have investigated SW-NIR spectra of sucrose and D-glucose. In previous reports on the band assignment for these sugars in the 1100-2500 nm spectral region (3-7), it has been established that change in concentration, temperature and physical state of sugars reflects on the shape and position of the spectral bands in the whole NIR region(5-7). The effect of change in concentration and temperature of individual sugar solutions and sugar spiked Juice samples was analysed using combined spectroscopic (derivative, difference, 2D spectroscopy) and linear regression chemometric (PLS, MLR) techniques. The results have been compared with the spectral data of a range of fruit types, varying in TSS content and temperature. In the 800-950 nm spectral region, the B-coefficients for apples, peaches and nectarines resemble those generated in a calibration of pure sucrose in water (Fig. 1). As expected, these fruits exhibit better calibration and prediction results than those in which the B-coefficients were poorly related to those for sugar.(Figure omitted).

  • The major objectives of fruit breeding lie in improvement of cultivar, easy to be cultivated and of high quality, in order to produce unexpensive, delicious fruit both for fresh fruit market and processing. Recently, fruit breeding in Korea has contributed to breeding of several superior cultivars in major fruit crops, resulting in appreciable improvement in qualities such as skin color, taste and fruit-bearing habit concerned with productivity. In spite of accomplishments mentioned above, the need for both highly disease-resistant cultivars and long-keeping, physiological disorder-resistant cultivars to meet long distance transsportation in the temperate fruit crops of apples, oriental pears, stone fruits such as peaches, and grapes grown in Korea is rapidly pressing more than ever, as cultivars of today susceptible to pests and diseases and vulnerable to physiological disorders are very expensive and time-consuming in post-harvest handling and management. Thus, imporvements made in the above problems through breeding level will lead to the really enhanced productivity in fruit industry. The major impediments of tree size, the long length of juvenile period and the highly heterogeneous genetic composition to the improvement of fruit crops are responsible for the lower amount and rate of improvements of fruit crops as compared to annuals. Considering the expected limitations of the above problems to be solved through conventional breeding methods and strategy, a turning point of breeding a near perfect cultivar would be laid down if innovative breakthroughs in biological technology will be realized in applying some of the techniques of genetic manipulation at the molecular level to the cultivar improvement of fruit crops, such as the selective insertion of DNA carrying genes that govern desirable characteristics. More than anything else, those traits such as fruiting habit deciding productivity, elements of fruit qualities conditioned by monogene, and disease-and pest-resistance of vital importance for successful fruit growing are urgently desired to be improved by advancement of biotechnology for they are more than difficult and need long period to be attained through conventional breeding method.

복숭아 재배기간 중 살균제 Fenarimol과 살충제 Flufenoxuron의 생산단계 잔류허용기준 설정 (Establishment of Pre-Harvest Residue Limits (PHRLs) of Fungicide Fenarimol and Insecticide Flufenoxuron in Peaches during Cultivation Period)

  • BACKGROUND: This study was performed to establishment the PHRLs of peach during cultivation period, and also to estimate biological half-lives for residues of fenarimol and flufenoxuron. METHODS AND RESULTS: The extracted samples of fenarimol were analyzed by GC-ECD and the flufenoxuron extracted samples were analyzed by HPLC-DAD. Recoveries of fenarimol at two fortification levels of 0.1 mg/kg, 0.5 mg/kg were $93.69{\pm}6.56$(%) and $94.45{\pm}1.60$ (%), respectively. And recoveries of flufenoxuron at two fortification levels of 0.1 mg/kg, 0.5 mg/kg were $106.73{\pm}5.90$(%) and $96.37{\pm}6.66$(%), respectively. CONCLUSION(S): The biological half-lives of fenarimol in single treatment and triple treatment were 3.5day and 3.8day. that of Flufenoxuron was also 7.1day and 4.9day, respectively. The PHRL of fenarimol were recommended as 1.5 mg/kg for 10day before harvest and the PHRL of flufenoxuron were recommended as 1.4 mg/kg for 10day before harvest.

소비자 위해지수를 이용한 5종 과일 중 잔류농약 안전성평가 (Safety Evaluation of Pesticide Residue in Five Fruits by Dietary Risk Index)

  • 국내에서 생산되는 과일 중 농약의 잔류특성과 인체에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위하여 2010년 사과, 복숭아, 배, 포도, 감귤에 대한 농약잔류 모니터링을 수행한 후 잔류농약의 검출량과 위해성지수를 이용하여 안전성을 평가하였다. 시료는 2-5지역의 주산단지에서 채취하였으며, 시료 중 잔류농약을 LC/MS/MS를 이용하여 분석하였다. 사과의 경우 acetamiprid 등 18종의 농약성분이 검출되었고 총 위해지수가 0.55로 위해우려 수준은 아니었으나 조사한 과일 중 가장 높았다. 감귤의 경우는 carbendazim 등 17종의 농약성분이 검출되었으며, 위해지수는 0.37이었다. 복숭아, 포도 및 배는 각각 12, 10, 8종의 농약이 검출되었으나 위해지수는 0.066, 0.025, 0.008로 낮은 것으로 평가되었다. 따라서 국내에서 생산되는 사과, 복숭아, 배, 포도, 감귤 중의 잔류농약에 의한 위해성은 낮은 것으로 판단되었다.

국내 채소류와 과일류의 비타민 B6 함량 (Vitamin B6 Content of Vegetables and Fruits Cultivated in Korea)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in vitamin B6 content according to the varieties, regions, and harvest times of vegetables and fruits in Korea using high performance liquid chromatography. We verified the accuracy of the analytical method with standard reference material 1849a and achieved reliability for internal analysis quality control with a mixture of cereal, whole wheat, and flour. As a result of the analysis, vitamin B6 contents (㎍/100 g) were 6.9~86.5 in peppers, 5.1~17.2 in paprika, 4.4~5.0 in strawberries, 4.0~52.9 in tomatoes, 7.7~7.8 in Chinese cabbage, 17.3~23.3 in radishes, 13.4~37.6 in apples, 2.3~12.7 in peaches, and 3.7~12.7 in grapes. In general, the difference in vitamin B6 content showed by varieties, harvest times, and regions. Peppers showed the most difference as 79.6 ㎍/100 g among the varieties, and apples showed a difference as 22.8 ㎍/100 g by regions. According to the harvest times in grape 'Mihwang', there was a difference of 7.5 ㎍/100 g. We will collect an amount of nutritional data on various food materials, and continue to build a reliable and integrated nutritional database. And then the database will be used in the 10th revision of the Korean Food Composition Table.

  • BACKGROUND: It is hard to control the agricultural products exceeding MRL (maximum residue limit) before forwarding. Therefore, NAQS (National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service, South Korea) established PHRL (pre-harvest residue limit) on agricultural products during their cultivation periods. This study was performed to set the PHRLs of peach during cultivation period, and also to estimate biological half-lives for residues of clothianidin and fluquinconazole. METHODS AND RESULTS: Two groups of peach were treated under Korean GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) with application time, single and triple treatments. Sample was collected over 14days (each after 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 days. 8times), and clothianidin and fluquinconazole were analyzed by HPLC/DAD and GC/ECD, respectively. CONCLUSION: The biological half-life of clothianidin in single treatment and triple treatment was 5.2days and 7.0days. That of fluquinconazole was also 3.9days and 4.1days, respectively. The PHRL of peach on 10days before harvest was 1.4 mg/kg in clothianidin and 1.8 mg/kg in fluquinconazole.

노지재배 복숭아 중 Bistrifluron과 Cyenopyrafen의 생산단계 잔류특성에 따른 감소추이 (Residue Dissipation Behavior of Bistrifluron and Cyenopyrafen in Peach for the Cultivation Periods under Field Conditions)

  • BACKGROUND: This study was performed to calculate the biological half-lives and regression coefficient of bistrifluron and cyenopyrafen dissipation in peach and to estimate the Pre-Harvest Residue Limits (PHRLs). METHODS AND RESULTS: The bistrifluron and cyenopyrafen were prepared on the basis of good agricultural practice for peach and treated with a single application. Peaches were harvested at 0, 1, 3, 5, 7, 10 and 14 days after application, prepared for analysis, and analyzed by HPLC-DAD. The limits of quantitation (LOQ) of bistifluron and cyenopyrafen were 0.02 mg/kg and 0.04 mg/kg, respectively. The recoveries of bistrifluron and cyenopyrafen were 99.5~108.7% and 88.4~98.9% at two different concentration levels. The biological half-lives of field I (Sejong) and field II (Pyeongtaek) were 6.1 and 7.0 days for bistifluron, and 6.3 and 7.0 days for cyenopyrafen, respectively. The 95% confidence intervals of dissipation rate constants of bistrifluron in peach were 0.0805~0.1457 and 0.0577~0.1417 for field I and field II, respectively, and those of cyenopyrafen were 0.0911~0.1278 and 0.0576~0.1417, respectively. CONCLUSION: Residue dissipation of bistrifluron and cyenopyrafen in peach were similar to that of correction to sample weight difference during the harvest periods. This study suggests that residue dissipation rate would be helpful to set the PHRLs that protect public health.

복숭아 수확후 보르도액 살포에 의한 세균성구멍병 방제효과 (Protection of Peach Trees from Bacterial Shot Hole with Bordeaux Mixture Spray during the Postharvest Season)

  • 복숭아 수확 후 보르도액의 살포효과를 구명하기 위하여 미백도 품종에 대해 9월 중순부터 1∼3회 살포한 후 이듬해 5월부터 세균성구멍병 이병율을 조사하였을 때, 보르도액 살포에 의한 방제효과는 살포횟수가 많을수록 높게 나타났다. 복숭아 수확기인 8월 상순의 경우 잎에서는 무처리구의 27.4%∼38.1%에 비해 보르도액 살포구에서는 9.7%∼31.8%의 이병율로 16.5%∼64.6%의 방제가를 보였고, 과실에서도 잎에서와 비슷한 경향이었는데 무처리구의 17.2%∼21.6%에 비해 41.9%∼70.9%의 방제가를 나타내었다. 보르도액 살포로 인한 약해는 6-6식 보르도액에서 2정도의 약해를 나타내었고, 4-12식 및 4-8식 보르도액에서는 약해가 없었으며, 복숭아 품종간에는 차이를 보이지 않은 경향이었다.
