The Change of Korean Men's Fashion from the 1960s to the 1990s - A Study Based on the Content Analysis of Magazine Advertisements and Pictorials -

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the changes of modern Korean men's fashion from the 1960s to the 1990s by reviewing fashion magazine advertisements and pictorials. For theoretical study, the characteristics and the importance of apparel advertisements and the changes of modern Korean men's fashion trend were reviewed. On the basis of the theoretical investigation, this study analyzed 932 pictorials from Joongang Magazine, Shin Dong-A, Bokjangwolbo, Meot, Men's Life, WWD, and S.F.F.A's photograph album, published from 1962 to 1998. Content analysis method was used to analyze the content of magazines and pictorials. The 932 samples are classified into apparel types, silhouette, pattern, color, type of breasts, shape of collar, number of button, type of inner wear. Frequency and $x^2$-test were conducted using a SAS statistics package to analyse the data. The results were as follows. The two-piece style prevailed in men's wear during the 60s, 70s, and 90s, while separate style prevailed during the 80s. H silhouette was the most popular during the 60s, 70s and 90s, however, X silhouette dominated the 70s. For patterns, solids were most frequently used throughout the whole 4 decades. In colors, gray was most frequently used during the 60s, and multi color was most frequently used during the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Throughout the whole decades, single breast, tailored collar, two buttons, and dress shirts were the most prevalent styles.

  • 디지털 워터마킹은 이미지, 사운드와 같은 멀티미디어 데이타에 지각할 수 없도록 비밀 정보를 삽입하는 기법이다. 일반적으로 주파수 영역 워터마킹 기법에서는 원 이미지에 대해 주파수 변환을 하고, 그 변환 면에 부호화된 워터마크 데이타를 삽입한다. 본 논문에서 우리는 Fresnel 변환을 이용한 새로운 워터마크 데이타 삽입 기법을 제안한다. 워터마크 이미지를 Fresnel 변환시켜 얻은 패턴의 값들을 원 이미지에 삽입한다. 본 워터마킹 모델은, 하나의 워터마크 이미지로부터 Fresnel 변환의 거리 파라미터의 값에 변화를 줌으로써 다양한 삽입 패턴을 얻을 수 있음으로 인해 데이타 삽입에 있어서 유연성을 가진다. 또한 도형, 문자, 사진과 같은 모든 종류의 이미지를 워터마크 데이타로 사용하는 것이 가능하다. 제안된 기법의 유효성을 검증하기 위한 실험 결과, 손실 압축, 필터링, 기하학적 변환 등의 공격에 대해 내성을 지니고 있음을 보였다.

수학적 형태학 처리를 통한 주행 중 과속 방지턱 자동 탐지 방안 (A Study on Automatic Detection of Speed Bump by using Mathematical Morphology Image Filters while Driving)

  • 본 연구에서는 전방위 카메라(Omni-directional Camera)를 이용하여 과속방지턱(Speed Bump)을 탐지하고 Vision Based Approach 통한 실시간 과속 방지턱 데이터의 갱신 방안을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 카메라 영상정보에서 과속 방지턱을 검출하기 위해 잡음을 제거하고 이를 구성하는 형상과 패턴으로 여겨지는 점들을 우선적으로 탐지하여야 한다. 과속방지턱은 일정한 폭과 규칙적인 형태를 유지하며 흰색과 노란색의 영역을 가지고 있음에 착안하여 침식과 팽창을 이용한 형태학적 연산과 HSV칼라 모델을 적용하여 도로상의 과속방지턱을 추출하였다. 카메라에서 거대한 이미지 데이터를 수집하여 대상 객체를 검출하고 GPS 위치 정보를 이용하였다. 마지막으로 동시적 위치추정 및 지도작성 (SLAMs :Simultaneous Localization And Mapping) 시스템을 구현하여 탐지알고리즘과 취득결과의 정확성을 평가하였다.

소비자의 시간압박 수준에 따른 패션정보원, 추구혜택, 구매기준 비교연구 (Comparison on Fashion Information Sources, Clothing Benefits Sought & Purchase Criteria according to Consumers' Time Pressure Level)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate demographic profiles between the consumer group under high time pressure(HTP) and the group under low time pressure(LTP) during the shopping, to examine the level of association between the fashion information sources and time pressure variable, to determine the difference in clothing benefits sought between HTP and LTP, and to determine the difference in purchase criteria. We distributed questionnaires to 600 women aged in 20-65. The reliable 562 questionnaires were used for a statistical analysis. Data analyses were conducted with SPSS program on t-test, cluster analysis, factor analysis, and Chi square test. We obtained the following results: There was a significant association between demographic variables such as age, occupation, education, residence area, & family cycle and time pressure variable. Fashion information sources were classified into 4 factors. HTP searched information on fashion products using more various sources than LTP did. There was also a significant difference between HTP and LTP in clothing benefit sought. Four clothing benefit factors such as trendy/social position, economic value, protection/comfort, and makeup of body shape were sought more by HTP than by LTP. In addition, HTP considered significantly more purchase criteria such as color/pattern, comfort, quality, suitability, material, sewing finishing, coordination, price, brand, easy care, and country of origin than LTP.

패션 컬렉션에 나타난 남성패션 스타일 분석 (Analysis of the Men's Fashion Style in the Fashion Collections)

  • The purpose of this study is to make a basic resource in developing a design satisfying male consumers' fashion inclination by examining the features of the men's fashion style shown in the fashion collections. Collected were 1,291 photos relating to the suit style through the analysis on the men's fashion collections for 8 years(1995-2002). Representative men's fashion images are extracted from these photos, then figurative features were analyzed and typified according to image, and finally representative fashion styles were presented and its meaning was analyzed. Representative men's fashion images are Sophisticated, Casual, Elegant, Active, Natural, Classic, Romantic, Ethnic, Military, Marine, Colonial, and Avant-garde. With the subcategories such as detailed shape of jacket and trousers, the relationship of color between upper and lower clothes, type and organizing method of material quality, type and arranging method of pattern, and coordination, the extracted fashion images were analyzed the figurative features. After finding out the common and different features, four men's fashion styles were suggested. Formal style maintains the typical suit style and has the feature expressing the men's authority, tradition, and honor. It includes Sophisticated, Elegant. and Classic image. Casual St Sporty style has the feature that there is a change in the volume of suit by adding activity to the typical suit style. It includes Casual, Active, and Natural image. Uniformed style is that political and social environment such as war has an influence on the suit design. It includes Military, Marine, and Colonial image. Deformed style has the feature that it suggests new type instead of adhering to the typical suit design. It includes Ethnic, Romantic, and Avant-garde image.

축제식(築堤式) 폐양식장을 활용한 고창 갯벌 복원계획 수립 (A Establishment of Mud Flat Restoration Plan in Gochang Using Abandoned Embanked Farms)

  • This study was started with the objective of restoring abandoned embanked farms, which are recently increasing, to mud flat by putting in least amount of energy in the aspect of environmental restoration. For the direction and establishment of the proposal for the restoration of mud flat using embanked farms, a case of Maipo Wetland in Hongkong was analyzed, and a proposal was prepared considering the condition of mud flat in Gochang. The restoration of mud flat in Gochang is intended to create various wetland ecological spaces as well as to provide opportunities for experience, education, recreation, and tourism. Effort was made to development an environment closest to the local ecological environment considering the shape and topographical condition of existing abandoned farms. For construction of the habitat, a target species was chosen and the plan for selection, planting, and management of species of trees suitable for the target species was established. In addition, the water level will be controlled by water gates to conform to the resting, spawning, breeding, and migration period considering the behavioral pattern of waders, the target species. The research on the restoration of mud flat in Korea is in incipient stage and this study provided an opportunity to review the possibility of restoration of abandoned embanked farms to mud flat. For the success of mud flat restoration from a long-term perspective, development of acclimating design infrastructure, technology improvement for mud flat restoration, and basis of partnership for the maintenance should be prepared in a systematical way.

중국(中國) 20대(代) 남성(男性)의 하반신(下半身) 대표체형(代表體型) 연구(硏究) (The Representative Body Type of Lower Body of Chinese Males in Their 20s)

  • This study held human measurement for 200 male subjects in their twenties in full age living in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province in China. Their lower body types were classified and grouped according to shapes and sizes. Consequently, representative body type reflecting shapes, sizes, and characteristics were chosen and presented with their measurement values to be used as the basic data for slacks pattern making and fitness evaluation. The following are the results of the analysis: 1. Homogeneity analysis was given to determine the correspondence relationships among index types, indirect types, and size types. Index Type 1 (H-Round), Indirect Type 2 (Adjacent Straight Legs & Slight Slant of Lateral Lower Body), and Size Type 1 (Medium-Thick) were correlated; Index Type 2 (A-Trapezoid), Indirect Type 1 (Bow Legs & Slight Slant of Lateral Lower Body), and Size Type 3 (Small-Slim) were corresponded; Index Type 3 (A-Balance), Indirect Type 3 (Balance Legs & Large Slant of Lateral Lower Body), and Size Type 2 (Tall-Normal) were mutually related. 2. Mahalanobis distance based on each shape factor (index or indirect) and size factor (absolute) was obtained, while an index-absolute representative body type group (47 people, 24.4%) and an indirect-absolute representative body type group (45 people, 23.7%) were chosen, each reflecting shapes, sizes, and characteristics. 3. The representative body type group of lower body shapes of Chinese males in their 20s had average measurement values, such as 169.15cm (stature), 73.32cm (waist circumference), 75.76cm (omphalion waist circumference), 91.08cm (hip circumference), 106.02cm (outside leg length), 53.96cm (thigh circumference), and 74.42cm (crotch length).

  • 70~80년대에 다수의 고속도로 건설과 함께 축적된 고속도로 터널에 대한 설계 및 시공기술에 비하여 철도터널의 설계는 최근들어 활발하게 이루어지고 있는 상황이다. 따라서 고속도로 터널과 철도 터널의 비교시에는 다소간의 시간적인 차이가 있는 것이 사실이다. 본 논문에서는 서로 비슷한 굴착단면적을 갖고 있으나 단면형상에서 차이를 나타내는 고속도로 2차로 자연환기터널과 선로중심간격 4.3m의 복선철도 터널에 대해 동일한 조건하에서 지보재를 설치하지 않은 경우와 지보재를 설치한 경우에 대해 수치해석을 수행하여 단면형상 차이에 따른 터널 주변암반에 발생하는 주응력크기 및 축차응력 비교를 통한 터널의 안정성을 비교 분석하였다.

항공사진의 지형공간정보 자료기반에 의한 자연환경변화의 분석 (Analysis of the Changes for Natural Environment by Geo-Spatial Information Database of Aerial Photo)

  • 도시화가 진행되면서 상대적(相對的)으로 삼림면적(森林面積)이 감소(減少)되어 환경(環境)이 파괴(破壞)되고 있다. 사진영상에 있는 대상물을 알아내기 위하여 일반적으로 형상 및 크기, 음영, 색조, 색채, 질감, 모양 등으로 판독한다. 촬영시간대에 따른 다양한 정보를 가지고 있는 항공사진(航空寫眞)의 판독(判讀)에 의한 지형정보(地形情報)를 자료기반화하면 경년(經年)의 자연환경변화(自然環境變化)를 알 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 부산직할시 금정구에 위치한 부산대학교(釜山大學校)를 모형지역으로 선정하였다. 경련(經年)의 삼림감소율(森林減少率)을 알기 위해 1980년과 1990년 10년 간격의 삼림면적(森林面積)을 비교(比較)한 결과 감소율(減少率)이 41%에 달하였으며 건설에 있어 단순한 계획이 아닌 보존적(保存的) 차원(次元)의 고려(考慮)가 있어야 함을 알 수 있었다.

  • The environment has played a key role to improve the living condition and develop the industry. In building industries, we should consider the environment and mitigate the environmental affect. For mitigating the its affect, various areas of building technology have been developed and applied into filed work. In addition, the process in applying into field requires to conduct the assessment of the environmental affect and improve its applied technology. A lot of assessment methods are proposed in evaluate the building condition such as post-occupancy evaluation, life cycle management and life cycle assessment. Among these assessment methods, life cycle assessment is effectively utilized the environmental affect in building life cycle. Therefore, this paper aimed at analyzing the energy consumption and $CO_2$ emission in building life cycle, using the life cycle assessment and application of the example in apartment housing. This study shows that the maintenance and the production of building materials stage shares most of the amount of energy consumption and $CO_2$ emission and therefore plays an important role to planning the building in terms of the life cycle. Second, the other stages brings about a very small amount. It is important to decide the building shape and contents to mitigate the environmental affect in terms of material, volume, the pattern of the energy use and others.
