Smaller size and higher integration of electronic systems make narrower interconnect pitch not only in chip-level but also in package-level. Moreover electronic systems are required to operate in harsher conditions, that is, higher current / voltage, elevated temperature / humidity, and complex chemical contaminants. Under these severe circumstances, electronic components respond to applied voltages by electrochemically ionization of metals and conducting filament forms between anode and cathode across a nonmetallic medium. This phenomenon is called as the electrochemical migration. Many kinds of metal (Cu, Ag, SnPb, Sn etc) using in electronic packages are failed by ECM. Eutectic SnPb which is used in various electronic packaging structures, that is, printed circuit boards, plastic-encapsulated packages, organic display panels, and tape chip carriers, chip-on-films etc. And the material for soldering (eutectic SnPb) using in electronic package easily makes insulation failure by ECM. In real PCB system, not only metals but also many chemical species are included. And these chemical species act as resources of contamination. Model test systems were developed to characterize the migration phenomena without contamination effect. The serpentine-shape pattern was developed for analyzing relationship of applied voltage bias and failure lifetime by the temperature / humidity biased(THB) test.

Different method of textile fabrication had existed since the ancient times, but the most dominant form was the 'weaving' method which embodies the cross fabrication of vertical and horizontal threads using special weaving machines (looms). In addition, fabrication methods like knitting, felt, and lace were commonly practiced while intertwinement methods like twisting, braiding, and knotting techniques were frequently used for weaving strings and braid type textiles. In the past, people did not pay attention to strings and braids because they were classified as non-textiles, but, in this paper, we have expanded the scope of definition of textile to include strings and braids, and seek to conduct in-depth research on various different intertwinement of textiles. The adaptation of intertwinement method in arts and crafts enables limitless creative works reflecting the ever-changing taste and style of the creator. This creativity is further broadened by the fact that intertwinement methods encompass no set patterns and the subject and shape of its creation is as broad as its artistic pursuits. We can infer the knowledge of our ancestors, their aesthetic taste, and the pattern of life from these creations. In addition, these creations can provide comfort and improve the quality of life of modem people who are deeply deprived of sentimental and emotional solitude in the technological civilization of the 21stcentury. The main purpose of this paper is to examine traditional Korean arts and crafts made using the intertwinement methodology through the context of strings, braids, straw crafts and knotting method. Then it will conduct through research on the different materials, forms, characteristics, usage and other key notions based on the currently preserved records and relics to contribute to the research on traditional textiles and provide the foundations to the development of the Korean culture and cultural products, reflecting the true sole and aesthetics of traditional Korean textile crafts.
PURPOSE. The mechanical and interfacial characterization of laser welded Co-Cr alloy with two different joint designs. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Dumbbell cast specimens (n=30) were divided into 3 groups (R, I, K, n=10). Group R consisted of intact specimens, group I of specimens sectioned with a straight cut, and group K of specimens with a $45^{\circ}$ bevel made at the one welding edge. The microstructure and the elemental distributions of alloy and welding regions were examined by an SEM/EDX analysis and then specimens were loaded in tension up to fracture. The tensile strength (TS) and elongation (${\varepsilon}$) were determined and statistically compared among groups employing 1-way ANOVA, SNK multiple comparison test (${\alpha}$=.05) and Weibull analysis where Weibull modulus m and characteristic strength ${\sigma}_0$ were identified. Fractured surfaces were imaged by a SEM. RESULTS. SEM/EDX analysis showed that cast alloy consists of two phases with differences in mean atomic number contrast, while no mean atomic number was identified for welded regions. EDX analysis revealed an increased Cr and Mo content at the alloy-joint interface. All mechanical properties of group I (TS, ${\varepsilon}$, m and ${\sigma}_0$) were found inferior to R while group K showed intermediated values without significant differences to R and I, apart from elongation with group R. The fractured surfaces of all groups showed extensive dendritic pattern although with a finer structure in the case of welded groups. CONCLUSION. The K shape joint configuration should be preferred over the I, as it demonstrates improved mechanical strength and survival probability.
Semiconductors are leading the development of industrial technology, leading to miniaturization and weight reduction of electronic products as a leading technology, we are dragging the electronic industry market Especially, the semiconductor manufacturing process is composed of highly accurate and complicated processes, and effective production is required Recently, a vision system combining a computer and a camera is utilized for defect detection In addition, the demand for a system for measuring the shape of a fine pattern processed by a special process is rapidly increasing. In this paper, we propose a vision algorithm using mask image to detect scratch defect of semiconductor pockage. When applied to the manufacturing process of semiconductor packages via the proposed system, it is expected that production management can be facilitated, and efficiency of production will be enhanced by failure judgment of high-speed packages.

The concrete pavement of the Seohae Highway in Korea has suffered from serious distress, only four to seven years after construction. Deterioration due to Alkali-Silica Reaction (ASR) has seldom been reported per se in Korea, because the aggregate used for the cement concrete has been considered safe against alkali-silica reaction so far. The purpose of this study is to examine the deterioration caused by an alkali-silica reaction of concrete pavement in Korea. The investigation methods included visual inspection and Automatic Road Analyzer (ARAN) analysis of surface cracks, coring for internal cracks, stereo microscopic analysis, scanning electronic microscope (SEM) analysis, and electron dispersive X-ray spectrometer (EDX) analysis. The results are presented as follows: the crack pattern of the concrete pavement in Korea was longitudinal cracking, map cracking or D-cracking. Local areas of damage were noticed four to five years after construction. The cracks started from edges or joints and spread out to slabs. The most intensive cracking was observed at the intersection of the transverse and longitudinal joints. Where cracking was the most intense, pieces of concrete and aggregate had spalled away from top surface and joint interface area. The progress of deterioration was very fast. The reaction product of alkali-silica gel was clearly identified by its generally colorless, white, or very pale yellow hue seen through a stereo optical microscopy. The typical locations of the reaction product were at the interface between aggregate and cement paste in a shape of a rim, within aggregate particles in the cracks, and in the large void in the cement paste. Most of the white products were found at interface or internal aggregates. SEM and EDX analysis confirmed that the white gel was a typical reaction product of ASR. The ASR gel in Korea mainly consisted of Silicate (Si) and Potassium (K) from the cement. The crack in the concrete pavement was caused by ASR. It seems that Korea is no longer safe from alkali-silica reaction.

This study considered the characteristic through the present state of domestic literature museum and grouping by type to help the understanding for domestic literature museum. And conducted a case study on Gyeongsang-do region literature museum to grasp the space form composition characteristic of literature museum. The result gained through these studies is as follows. First, grouping domestic literature museum by type, we can conduct the classification founded on location character, an exhibition writer, and the main body of erection and maintenance management. Second, the classification founded on location character of literature museum is able to be divided into the type of the house of writer's birth, a literary work, writing, and etc. Third, the classification founded on the number of exhibition writers can be divided into the type of independence, an individual pavilion, and integration. Fourthly, the classification founded on the main body of erection and management can be divided into the case in which a local self-governing body is wholly in charge of erection and management, a local government is in charge of erection but entrusts management to a corporate body, etc., a corporate body is in charge of erection and management, and a private person is in charge of erection and management. Fifthly, speaking of the characteristic by type of the Gyeongsang-do region literature museum, the classification founded on location has the type of the house of writer's birth the most, the classification founded on the number of exhibition writers has the type of independence the most, and the classification founded on the main body of erection and management has the most the type in which a local self-governing body is in charge of erection and management. Also, for the characteristic by space form, the case which expresses the character of Korean traditional architecture by form is many the most, and there are pieces of work to pursue shape beauty through the articulation of mass or molding manipulation and the change by space form through the proper combination of concreteness and abstraction as well.

We propose a cell-multiplexing scheme for the real-time communication service in ATM network and a new service discipline guarantee end-to-end delay based on pseudo-isochronous cell switching. The proposed scheme consists of two level frame hierarchy, upper and lower frame, which is used to assign the bandwidth and to guarantee the requested delay bound, respectively. Since the Proposed algorithm employs two level frame hierarchy, it can overcome the coupling problem which is inherent to the framing strategy It can be comparatively reduce the complexity, and still guarantee the diverse delay bounds of end-to-end. Besides, it consists of two components, traffic controller and scheduller, as the imput traffic description model and regulates the input traffic specification. The function of the traffic controller is to shape real -time traffic to have the same input pattern at every switch along the path. The end-to-end delay is bounded by the scheduller which can limit the delay variation without using per-session jitter controllers, and therefore it can decrease the required buffer size. The proposed algorithm can support the QoS's of non-real time traffic as well as those of real time traffic.

Rutile single crystals grown by skull melting method were cut parallel and perpendicular to growth axis, and both sides of the cut wafers (${\phi}5.5mmx1.0mm$) were then polished to be mirror surfaces. The black wafers were changed into pale yellow color by annealing in air at 1200 and $1300^{\circ}C$ for $3{\sim}15\;and\;10{\sim}50$ hours, respectively. After annealing, structural and optical properties were examined by specific gravity (S.G), SEM-electron backscattered pattern (SEM-EBSP), X-ray diffraction (XRD), FT-IR transmittance spectra, laser Raman spectroscopy (LRS), photoluminescence (PL) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). These results are analyzed increase of weight in air, decrease of weight in water and specific gravity, shown secondary phase of needle shape, diffusion of oxygen ion and increase of $Ti^{3+}$. From the above results, we suggest that the skull melting method grown rutile single crystals contain defect centers such as $O_v,\;Ti^{3+},\;O_v-Ti^{3+}$ interstitials and $F^+-H^+$.

In this paper, w designed an opical power distribution device for application to an optical switching and an optical subscriber loop. We fabricated PSG thin film by LPCVD. Based on the measured index of fabricted thin film, rib-type waveguide was transformed to two-dimension by the effective index method and we simulated dispersion property to find asingle-mode condition. We found that the optimum design parameters of rib-type waveguide are:cladding layer of 3.mu.m, core layer of 3.mu.m, buffer layer of 10.mu.m, and core width of 4.mu.m. Each side of the guiding region was etched down to 4.mu.m to shape the core. We used these optimum parameters of the rib-type waveguide with branching angle of 0.5.deg. and simulted the Y-branch waveguide by the BPM simulation. Numerical loss in branching area was claculated to be 0.1581dB and equal to the total loss of the Y-branch. The loss of the fabricated Y-branch waveguide on PSG film ws 1.6dB at .lambda.=1.3.mu.m before annealing but was 1.2dB after annealing at 1000.deg. C for 10 minutes. Consequently, the loss of branching area from 3000.mu.m to 6000.mu.m in the z-direction was 0.8dB, and single-mode propagation was confirmed by measuring the near field pattern. For coupling the fabricated Y-branch waveguide with an optical fiber, we fabricated V-groove which was used as the upholder of optical fiber. An etching angle was 54.deg. and the width and depth of guiding groove was 150.mu.m, 70.mu.m, respectively. The optical fiber is inserted onto V-groove. Both the Y-branch and V-groove were connected through the index matching oil. Coupling loss after connecting Y-branch and the optical fiber on V-groove was 0.34dB and that after injecting index mateching oil was 0.14dB.
