  • In this thesis, to accurately measure 3D face information using the spatial encoding patterns, the new algorithm to segment the pattern images from initial face pattern image is proposed. If the obtained images is non-homogeneous texture and ambiguous boundary pattern, the pattern segmentation is very difficult. Furthermore. the non-encoded areas by accumulated error are occurred. In this thesis, the FCM(fuzzy c-means) clustering method is proposed to enhance the robust encoding and segmentation rate under non-homogeneous texture and ambiguous boundary pattern. The initial parameters for experiment such as clustering class number, maximum repetition number, and error tolerance are set with 2, 100, 0.0001 respectively. The proposed pattern segmentation method increased 8-20% segmentation rate with conventional binary segmentation methods.

  • Many researches have been studied to overcome the weak points in authentication schemes of mobile devices such as pattern-authentication that is vulnerable for smudge-attack. Since random-pattern-lock authenticates users by drawing figure of predefined-shape, it can be a method for robust security. However, the authentication performance of random-pattern-lock is influenced by input noise and individual characteristics sign pattern. We introduce an optimization method of user input direction to increase the authentication accuracy of random-pattern-lock. The method uses the likelihood of each direction given an data which is angles of line drawing by user. We adjusted recognition range for each direction and achieved the authentication rate of 95.60%.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop an excellent bodice prototype that is adapted to the body shape of middle-aged women using 3D measurement data. In the evaluation of appearance, S pattern 4.00, B pattern 2.80, E pattern 2.40, L pattern 1.40 were shown in order, and the best fit of S pattern was evaluated as excellent. As a result of looking at the color distribution chart to find out the amount, E pattern and S pattern were not space in the front bust, armhole, and the back waist line. The B pattern and the L pattern were marked in blue because of insufficiency space in the back neck. As a result of evaluation the amount of air gap in the clothing, the air gap of the bust was 0.12, which is the largest pattern of B. Next, the L pattern appears as a tight circle with smallest air gap in the order of the S pattern 0.096, the E pattern 0.08, and the L pattern 0.003. The S pattern was evaluated to be the most appropriate for the body shape of middle-aged women. But the waist and back were slightly tight. Middle-aged women have larger shoulder-related items and larger waist circumference. Therefore, when you set the perimeter item, you should add 1-2cm of space amount and give extra space to the circumference area.

  • The subject of the simultaneous measuring system of base pattern and deposition pattern is a new research topic on a defect inspection of OLED. In this paper, we propose a new OLED inspection method that simultaneously measures standard and deposition pattern images. This method reduces unnecessary processes and tac time during OLED inspection. For an additional reduction of the tac time during pattern measurement, the ROI was configured to measure only in the designated ROI area instead of measuring the entire area of an image. During the ROI set-up, the value of effective deposition pattern area is included so that if the deposition pattern is out of the ROI zone, it would be treated as a defect before measuring the size and center point of the pattern. As a result, the tac time and inspection process could be shortened. The proposed method also could be applied to the OLED manufacturing process. Production of OLED could be increased by reducing tac time and inspection process.

  • We have analyzed the output characteristics of a LGP with pyramid shaped pattern by using a 3-D simulation tool. The influences on the LGP output of various parameters such as the pattern shape, pattern occupation ratio, pattern size, and etching angle were investigated. Comparing the pyramid shaped pattern with hemispherical patterns, little difference was observed. And, it was proved that the pattern occupation ratio and etching angle have relatively large effects on LGP output characteristics, while the pattern size has no effect. Therefore, we can improve the LGP characteristics by optimizing pattern structure and distribution.

  • In the current study, the authors propose a method for extracting license plate regions by means of a neural network trained to output the plate's center of gravity. The method is shown to be effective. Since the learning pattern presentation positions are defined by random numbers, a different pattern is submitted to the neural network for learning each time, which enables it to form a neural network with high universality of coverage. The article discusses issues of the optimal learning surface for a license plate covered by the learning pattern, the effect of suppression learning of the number and pattern enlargement/reduction and of concentration value conversion. Results of evaluation tests based on pictures of 595 vehicles taken at an under-ground parking garage demonstrated detection rates of 98.5%, 98.7%, and 100%, respectively.

  • This paper describes our ongoing Korean-Chinese machine translation system, which is based on verb patterns. A verb pattern consists of a source language pattern part for analysis and a target language pattern part for generation. Knowledge description on lexical level makes it easy to achieve accurate analyses and natural, correct generation. These features are very important and effective in machine translation between languages with quite different linguistic structures including Korean and Chinese. We performed a preliminary evaluation of our current system and reported the result in the paper.

  • It has become topic continuously at MEMS or semiconductor process to form three-dimensional multilayer structure. In this paper, we devised the new polymer pattern method that has multilayer structure. This is method that uses different kind of polymeric material. Specially, polymers used in this study that we propose became all pattern by photolithography, prevented that process increases. Here, polymer that we use used polymer of epoxy order called "SU-8" and polymer of novolak resin called "AZ-1518". The result, "SU-8" was formed pattern to 3.5um thickness, and "AZ-1518" about pattern 3um thickness. Also, It was been 6um thickness at same pattern area.

  • This paper suggests a implements and a design of class diagram authorization tool based on the MVC pattern. It defines and descries the structure of ClassInformation, ScreenDisplay and ToolManager. ClassInformation is responsible for processing or handling information of a diagram. ScreenDisplay is responsible for GUI to configure the screen of the authorization tool. ToolManager is responsible for event handling to process I/O of the authorization tool. Based on MVC pattern, ClassInformation, ScreenDisplay and ToolManager of the authorization tool are assigned each role independently. It is flexible to new requirement, because of loose coupling.

  • Modern functional languages provide some forms of pattern matching capability in them. However, these forms are on an ad-hoc basis and vary from languages to languages, making the user hard to understand the feature. To overcome this problem, we present a systematic approach to adding pattern matching to functional language. We extend to the core functional language with pattern matching capability and illustrate several examples of the language. We also discuss how to extend the pattern matching capability to higher-order terms.
