Objective: This study aimed to examine parenting education participation of Korean mothers in the transition to parenthood and its related variables. Method: A study sample was composed of 870 mothers whose first child was younger than one-year old from the Panel Study on Korean Children in 2008(mean age=30.1, SD = 3.69). The descriptive statistics of parenting education participation were presented. In addition, negative binomial and logistic regression models were used in Stata13 in order to examine the variables related to parenting education participation of mothers in the transition to parenthood. Results: Approximately 82% of the mothers reported that they had participated in at least one parenting education program. Further, mother's educational level, monthly household income, mother's working experience, and community type generally predicted parenting education participation of mothers. However, the effects of these variables varied by the subjects and the providing institutions. Conclusion: This study provides the overall picture of parenting education participation of Korean mothers in the transition to parenthood and its related variables. The findings can be utilized to plan more effective parenting education programs for new parents.
Purpose: This study aimed to assess the attitude toward cadaver donation and change of intention toward cadaver donation after participation in cadaver dissection among paramedical students, and then to provide basic data to extend wholesome culture toward cadaver donation. Data were collected before and after participation in cadaver dissection with the agreement of subjects. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 24.0. Results: This study showed that attitude toward cadaver donation was significantly different according to gender (p=.027) and major (p=.035). The attitude score toward cadaver donation was 3.45 points. The rate of positive intention toward cadaver donation before participation in cadaver dissection was 46.5%. The rate of change of intention toward cadaver donation after participation in cadaver dissection was 25.9%. Among 25.9% of subjects, the intention of 56.3% was changed from positive to negative, and the intentions of 42.1% changed from negative to positive. Conclusion: The results of this study the need to provide an educational program to improve the understanding and knowledge toward cadaver donation before participation in cadaver dissection among paramedical students.

Purpose: This study examined what characteristics and variables predict participation in support groups for women with breast cancer. Method: 282 women with breast cancer from 4 hospitals located in Busan were included in the study. Data was measured on each participant from September 2006 to February 2007. Data was collected using structured researcher-administered sheets and analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, chi-square test and logistic regression analysis. Results: The clients reported medium levels of illness perception, anxiety and depression, stress with coping, social support and self-efficacy. 48.9% of women with breast cancer participated in support groups. Significant influencing factors on the participation in support groups were 'operation time(+)', 'illness perception(+)', 'social support(-)', and 'self-efficacy(+)' Those variables explained 73.4%. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop a strategy or promoting program for promotion of illness perception and self-efficacy of women with breast cancer. Subjects were 15 teachers and 143 children at 15 child-care centers in Seoul that varied by quality of care. The Child Care Program Observation Scale(Rhee et at., 2003) was employed to observe the quality of the centers. Information on teachers' participation in play was collected by 20 units of observation for each teacher using a rating scale developed by the author. Children's behaviors were observed with time sampling method in 12 categories of play behaviors based on Social and Cognitive Play Scales(Rubin et al., 1978). Children's play behaviors varied by quality of child-care centers and teachers' participation in play. When child-care quality was high, teachers' participated actively in children's play and children showed developmentally appropriate play behaviors.

A requirement of park management is to transfer the focus from emphasizing the management of public materials to providing services to visitors. Therefore, it has become indispensable to create a scheme in which residents can take management initiative. At this time, we look at Hyogo Prefectural Arimafuji Park, which encourages citizen management participation, and try to understand their system and project contents. For an initial scheme, we identify 4 elements that promoted subjective participation in a council style scheme; 1. to begin activities at the earliest possible time before opening the park, 2. to coordinate with expert(s) who take a neutral position, 3. to have places available where participants can debate on an equal footing, and 4. to plan the project while feeding back actual results.
The purpose of this study was to provide basic data for the familial voluntary service of the Healthy Family Center and then verify the effectiveness of its application in order to improve family healthy through a familial voluntary service. Study subjects were both volunteers who belonged to family volunteer corps of 12 Healthy Family Centers. Collected data was analyzed SPSS WIN 12.0 program. The results were as followed. First, a 54.1% of subjects is taking part in a familial voluntary service, while a 45.9% of them is not. Their positive intention of future participation is a 77.4%. The period of participation is from 6 months to two years. The frequency of participation is once or twice a month, and the length of activities per participation is for 3 hours. They have taken part in the service with a variety of public relations, and their motive of participation is by and large selfish. Second, as for the influence of participation in a familial voluntary service upon family healthy, the family healthy of participant group is higher in all the four sub-variables of family healthy than that of other groups. The group of which frequency of participation is once a week is better in family communication than the group of which frequency of participation is once or twice per month. The group of which motive of participation is altruistic is higher in sharing a value system among families than the group of which motive of participation is selfish.
The purpose of this study is to describe the characteristics associated with the hypertension educated population, and to develop and analyze a simple predictive model of the hypertension management education status. Based on the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey in 2008, a cross-sectional design was used in this study. An effective 1.165 adults(${\geq}30$) sample was divided into a participation group (n=66) and a non-participation group(n=1,099), and to compare demographic, socio-economic and health characteristics between two groups. Moreover, predictors associated with participation in hypertension education programs were identified by the logistic regression analysis. The participation rate in hypertension education in Korea is only 5.7% which is vastly low given the various programs were provided, and there are statistically significant differences between a participation group and a non-participation group in age(p=0.050), marital status(p=0.002), education level(p=0.000), and residence area(p=0.037). Furthermore, age for 40-49 years(OR : 0.207), education level of high school(OR : 2.579) and college(OR : 6.417), duration of hypertension(OR : 1.044), CVA(OR : 2.463), and blood pressure(OR : 1.041) are statistically significant predictors associated with the participation in hypertension education programs. To increase the participation of hypertension education program, variables such as age, education level, duration of hypertension, CVA, and blood pressure are more concerned. And, high-risk patients and family members need targeted outreach programs.
