Secondly, male adolescent participation in household work varied according to communication satisfaction with family, father's participation in household work, father's consciousness on equality of both sexes, amount of household work delegated, and amount of household work delegated to each sex. However, female adolescent participation in household work varied according to mothers' employment status, father's participation in household work, amount of household work delegated, and amount of household work delegated to each sex. Finally, father's participation in household work directly, and indirectly, affected male adolescent participation. However, in female adolescents, parents' compliment was the most meaningful variable directly and indirectly related to participation in household work.

This study investigated the participation of household labor of employed wives and husbands and it’s influential variables. The subjects of this study were 287 couples(employed wives and husbands) living in Seoul. The data were analyzed by various statistical methods such as Frequency, Percentile, Pearson’s Correlation Analysis and Multiple Regression Analysis. The results of this research were as follows: 1. Wives spend on average of 7 hours and 23 minutes(per day), of 6 hours and 35 minutes(per weekday), of 12 hours and 7 minutes (per weekends) on household labor, whereas husbands spend on average of hours and 38 minutes(per day), of 2 hours and 11 minutes(per weekday), of 5 hours and 18 minutes(per weekends) on household labor. This study investigates why the Married Female Production Workers(MFPW) participate in their work and what is work load they take. This study uses an ecosystems approaches in order to explain the labor participation of the MFPW and their work load. MFPW participate in their work because of the labor markets need and economic need of their household rather than their personal choice. Due to the long working hours, low wage and bad labor conditions of MFPW's job, they suffer more severe work load both at the fob and at home than any other occupational groups.
In this study, we challenge recent apocalyptic rhetoric about idle, burdensome, and dependent older people. Our primary objective is to examine and compare the productive activities of older adults in both Korea and Canada using a broader definition of productivity that included household work. Another objective is to identify and compare the factors related to the participation of household work of older adults in both countries. In order to conduct a comparative culture study two data sets were used; one was the 1999 Survey of Time Use collected by Korean Statistics Office and the other was 1998 Survey of Time Use collected by Canadian Statistics Office. Many countries have been collected a time use survey and used to study labor, welfare, and culture. Total number of 17,730 Korean and 2,729 Canadian between when and 84 were included to analyze the data. It is clear from the results that older people engage in productive behaviors, particularly when the definition of activities is broadened to include unpaid work. However, it is also clear the productive contributions in terms of household work ale lower among older Koreans than among older Canadians.

Fathers are increasingly expected to participate in parenting due to the higher participation of women in economic activities, the growing awareness of gender equality, and the greater emphasis on the role of fathers. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of paid work time and jobs' family-friendly policies on parenting participation in dual-earner families. Questionnaires were distributed to 577 fathers of dual earner families through a child care center in the Gyeongsangbukdo Province, and the results were analyzed using SPSS 18.0 for Windows. The statistical methods employed included mean, standard deviation, the Pearson correlation analysis, and a multiple regression analysis. The main results are as follows. First, the fathers of dual-earner families showed an above average level of participation in parenting (3.26). By category, they were less involved (2.89) in household chores, and more active in daily guidance and leisure activities (3.48). Second, the most significant variable affecting fathers' parenting participation was having a regular office-closing time. Fathers who were younger, had a higher level of education, had a regular office-closing time, had more vacation leave, and whose companies implemented family-friendly policies were more likely to participate more actively in parenting. Third, the key factors influencing fathers' parenting participation by sub-category were found to be having a regular office-closing time and jobs with family-friendly policies. Fathers with a greater awareness of gender equality were more inclined to participate in household chores, while those who were younger and more educated actively participated in daily guidance and leisure activities.
The Korean family is changing. The growth in dual-earner households has been the 'revolution' of the century, implying inevitable modification of the role division in marriage toward greater symmetry of responsibility for breadwinning and homemaking. So, the purpose of this study is to understand husbands' housework and to investigate the change of the husbands' housework. This means to investigate how the husband is related to housework. For these research purpose, 60 dual-earner couples were deeply interviewed. The major discussions of this study can be summarized as follows: There are four types of housework in men's work, the type of refusal, the type of avoidance, the type of inevitability, and the type of participation. These types are taken order to understand change in housework is women's work. Men in the type of avoidance in household work is 25%, they have a tendency to avoid housework with making any excuses. People in the type of inevitability is 20%. These men are compelled to work in household owing to circumstances beyond control. 13% of couples is type of participation. These have a new idea of housework. They don't get the gender role division. They can become a good husband. and eventually solve conflicts and problems in couples.
