  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the current situation of physical and intangible assets, and to analyze the use of planning in a new cultural space creation project areas. For this study, literature survey, filed survey and participant observation methods were used for data collection. The results were as follows. 1) The project's characteristics had a variety of space utilization's scope. It was to emphasize the organizations and participants in the human side. 2) There are the pumping stations, mokgammak, mills, barbershops, marketplaces etc in physical assets, and it was worth the historic or agricultural facility. 3) The using plans of three kinds in hardware facilities, software programs, human ware(human abilities)are linked to each other organically. 4) The problems in the project's process include the administrative and institutional factors rather than planning matters.

  • The Sea of Okhotsk is the unique area providing the highest methane production rate of the northern hemisphere. The area of focused fluid venting offshore the NE Sakhalin continental slope was investigated during the CHAOS (Hydro-Carbon Hydrate Accumulations in the Okhotsk Sea) expeditions onboard of RV "Akademik Lavrentyev" In 2003, 2005 and 2006. The International Research Project CHAOS (Russia-Korea-Japan) aimed at the study of gas hydrate formation processes associated with the fluid venting in the Sea of Okhotsk. Several new gas hydrate accumulations were discovered during the cruise. Hydrate-associated structures have been named as KOPRI, VNIIOKeangeologia, POI and KIT (the names of cruise participant institutes) Some of hydrate-bearing cores contain big amount of gas hydrates: massive gas hydrate layers (up to 35cm thick) were recovered. The shallowest submarine gas hydrate accumulations in the world (at the depth less then 400m) were discovered during the cruise.

  • The needs of collaboration among design participants spread in different locations is emphasized in the early design stage in order to not only save time and provide places to meet and talk, but also to save cost for those events as well: This is being realized by the Internet, which helps support a networked, integrated real-time multi-user environment. As the base for collaboration activities moves from physical places to cyberspace, the methods of connecting every participant by means of a computer technology have been desired and considered. This study aims at investigating today's collaboration technology in the architectural design process, especially focused on the early stages, in terms of temporal dimensions. In addition, major concepts for and previous efforts and tools of collaborative design have been examined, and a specific recommendation has been proposed for future development of collaborative architectural design systems: That is distributed collaboration, which is accessible and comprehensible to all the professionals in the building design team, which not only allows the sharing of information but also the sharing of understanding, and which facilitates the development of design tools for different aspects of the envisioned collaborative design environment.

Focusing on the playing experiences, in-depth interviews and survey were conducted on seven families with various family members detailing the gameplay. These qualitative methods were conducted interpretive way such as a month-long participant observation. As a result, the game Sensible meantime, the results were excluded from the game with the older generation of women and the elderly, leading to game culture game is trying to communicate was confirmed.

  • This study intended to find evidence of changes in teacher beliefs of teaching and learning and a case of infusing research experiences in teaching modules since their research participation. As part of this study, twenty three science and math teachers in Korea were provided with science research labs and field experiences in the University of Iowa for three weeks. The research units that teachers participated in for three weeks covered seven fields of subjects such as: geology, astronomy, chemistry, physics, mathematics, computer science, and environmental engineering. In the course of this study, the effectiveness of science research participation program was explored in terms of changing teacher beliefs and their production of teaching modules based on their research. This study especially focused on identifying changes of beliefs on science teaching and learning after participating in the research. A case study of a participant teacher was also conducted by comparing descriptively teaching modules before and after experiencing the program. It was found that the program affected the new modules and the research experiences affected participants' beliefs toward student centeredness.

  • This study focused on the relationship among perceived social support from care teacher(institution staff), internal locus of control, and school adjustment of institutionalized children. This also examined the differences of perceived social support, internal thou of control, and school adjustment by gender and the duration in the institution. Participant were 119 fifth-and sixth-grade elementary school studens(58 boys, 61 girts). Perceived social support from care teacher, internal locus of control, and school adjustment were measured by self-reports of institutionalized children. The data were analyzed, in SPSS Win program, by Cronbach's α, T-test, Pearson Correlations, Simple Regression, Hierarchical Multiple Regression. As expected, results confirm that perceived social support was associated positively with internal locus of control and school adjustment. further, perceived social support also exerts indirect effects on school adjustment, mediated by internal locus of control. However, none of these variables differed by gender and the duration in the institution.

  • This study researched that the remodeling was executed desirably in the side of deweller's household to the subject of ten apartment housings located in Gwang-ju, Jun-nam province. The study method was used the field study method and used in parallel with participant observation. As a result of the study, first, the problems of remodeling enforcement process are brought about standardized design, bad construction and the difficulty of solution in the defect occurrence. Second, By that request of the household is not reflected, the room except bedroom and the bathroom of inner room are low practical use degree. And wash space, garden space, assistant space of kitchen work were becoming hindrance factor of the residing environment because the use is irrational.

  • Recently, Construction industry has been trying to reduce environmental impacts reflecting the global trend 'Green Growth'. However most of previous studies focused on operation & maintenance phases and do not have been approached construction phases. In addition, environmental management factors by project participants are assessed with only weight of factors, overlooking these work difficulty. Therefore This study aims to deducted the critical environmental management factors by project participants considering work difficulty in plan, design and construction phase. The basis data is collected through literature reviews and interview targeting each project participant and analyze these data using importance-difficulty analysis(IDA).

  • This paper, based on a qualitative ethnographic study among college of education students, examines the online interactional processes surrounding academic discourse socialization. Data for this paper come from a larger study of an academic classroom community of graduate students and their instructor. In this study, I looked into the ways computer-mediated communication (CMC) contexts factor into graduate students' academic literacy experience in a graduate classroom, therein enculturating them into their new academic community. I focus on cases of nonnative graduate students in a content course in the department of educational psychology at a large southwestern university in the U.S. I explore the agency of the focal participants in terms of the roles they played in the classroom discourse highlighting the dialectical and interactional perspective of academic discourse socialization. This paper focused on the construction of varied participant roles of the focal students. It further examines student reactions and responses to these constructions during synchronous CMC activity.
