The first participant observation was carried out in the internet sites in order to collect the data on the purchase behavior for counterfeits; and the second participant observation was applied in the Dongdaemun shopping mall, Namdaemun shopping mall and Itaewon shopping mall; finally 6 informants were selected and then an interview was held with them. The results of the study are as follows; 1. The reasons for the first purchase of counterfeits are variously shown according to life stages, and the repetitive purchase behavior is influenced by the degree of satisfaction for the first purchase. The information collection for counterfeits is widely made through various media, and especially the information collection is active and positive in the case of planned purchase but it is passive and negative in the case of unplanned purchase. 2. The most important criteria in purchasing counterfeits is the degree of similarity with luxury brands and other criteria include price, design, utility etc. The majority of purchase items is not clothing but miscellaneous goods which are more similar in terms of design and quality. The purchase of counterfeits is made by impulse purchase but the purchase of luxury brands is made by planned purchase. 3. The rationalization mechanism for the purchase of counterfeits is observed in all informants, which is a sort of defence mechanism for avoiding a guilty conscience to buy illegal goods.

  • Purpose : The aims of this study was to identify changes mu rhythm according to familiarity with a stimulus in people with stroke. Methods : Seventeen right-handed participants were asked to observe 2 different stimulus; a non-familiarity stimulus condition (NFSC), and a familiarity stimulus condition (FSC). Electroencephalogram (EEG) signals from electrodes on the participant's scalp were recorded during action observation. The activation of the mirror neuron system was compaired between FSC and NFSC by a paired t-test. An independent t-test was used to compare the difference between right and left hemispheres for the activation of the mirror neuron system during action observation of performing a task with the right hand. Results : The result of paired t-test showed no significantly difference between NFSC and FSC in the activation of the mirror neuron system. The Result of independent t-test also showed no significantly difference in the activation of mirror neuron system between the right and left hemispheres. Conclusion : The familiarity with a stimulus had no signigicant effect on the activation of the mirror neuron system according to the familiarity and in either the right or left hemispheres in people with chronic stroke.

  • Objective : The purpose of this study is to apply interactive metronome (IM) training to a child with praxis problems who are attending elementary school and to measure the change in participants' timing following IM training. Methods : A total of 11 sessions were conducted using a single subject design. The participant was a boy aged 12 years and two months. During period A, the IM Long Form Assessment (LFA) and the Short Sensory Profile (SSP) were administered along with clinical observation. During period B, IM training was conducted. During all sessions, tasks 1 and 2 of the IM Short Form Assessment (SFA) were carried out, and changes in the participant's timing were recorded. Results : As a result of the initial assessment, the participant was suspected to have bilateral integration and sequencing deficits. In SFA tasks 1 and 2, the accuracy of the participant's timing increased during the B period compared to the A period. In addition, the trend line of SFA task 1 showed a negative slope during the B period but a positive slope during the A period. Conclusion : This study indicates that IM has a positive effect on the timing of children who have problems with praxis. This result provides a basis for applying IM training in clinical practice.
