This paper presents current unbalance improved half-bridge LLC resonant converter using the two transformers with different leakage inductances. The proposed converter resonates with the leakage inductance and magnetizing inductance of the transformer and the resonant capacitance. The converter operates in a wide load range and satisfies the zero voltage switching even under the light load. The series-parallel connected two transformers act as the transformers or the resonant inductances according to the operational modes, and the separate output filter inductance in the transformer secondary is not needed using the leakage inductance. The current unbalance of the secondary diode rectifier is improved using the different leakage inductances of the two transformers and the asymmetrical pulse-width modulation (PWM). In this paper, the operational principle of the converter is explained by the modes, and the design example for the prototype is also shown. To validate the performance of the converter, the prototype is implemented as the designed circuit parameters and the good performance of the proposed converter is shown through the experimental results
This paper studies a soft switching DC/DC converter to achieve zero voltage switching (ZVS) for all switches under a wide range of load condition and input voltage. Two three-level PWM circuits with the same power switches are adopted to reduce the voltage stress of MOSFETs at $V_{in}/2$ and achieve load current sharing. Thus, the current stress and power rating of power semiconductors at the secondary side are reduced. The series-connected transformers are adopted in each three-level circuit. Each transformer can be operated as an inductor to smooth the output current or a transformer to achieve the electric isolation and power transfer from the input side to the output side. Therefore, no output inductor is needed at the secondary side. Two center-tapped rectifiers connected in parallel are used at the secondary side to achieve load current sharing. Due to the resonant behavior by the resonant inductance and resonant capacitance at the transition interval, all switches are turned on at ZVS. Experiments based on a 1kW prototype are provided to verify the performance of proposed converter.

A new phase-shifted parallel-input/series-output (PI SO) dual inductor-fed push-pull converter for high-power stepup applications is proposed. This converter is operated at a constant duty cycle and employs an auxiliary circuit to control the output voltage with a phase-shift between the two modules. It features a voltage conversion characteristic which is linear to changes in the control input, and high step-up ratio with a greatly reduced switch turn-off stress resulting in a significant increase in the converter efficiency. It also shows a low ripple content and low root-mean-square (RMS) current in the output capacitor. The operational principle is analyzed and a comparative analysis with the conventional pulse-width-modulated (PWM) PISO dual inductor-fed push-pull converter is presented. A 50kHz, 800W, 350Vdc prototype with an input of 20-32Vdc has also been constructed to validate the proposed converter. The proposed converter compares favorably with the conventional counterpart and is considered well suited to high-power step-up applications.
This paper presents an interleaving scheme for parallel-connected power systems to reduce the DC-link current ripple. A paralleled generator system generates current ripple by the Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) of each generator side converter. The current ripple in the DC-link degrades the efficiency of the whole generator system and decreases the lifetime of the DC-link capacitors. To mitigate these issues, the expression of the DC-link current is derived by a double-integral Fourier analysis while considering the modulation schemes. Optimized interleaving angles for the parallel generator system are obtained based on an analysis to minimize the dominant current harmonics component. Finally, the proposed interleaving scheme reduces the RMS value of the DC-link current ripple. Simulation and experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed interleaving scheme.

In this paper a novel line interactive UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) using the two 4-leg VSCs and AC line reactor is proposed. The 4-leg Voltage Source Converter(VSC) can use the DC link voltage effectively by the 3-D SVPWM method. Hence the DC battery voltage can be reduced by $15\%$ in comparison to that of the conventional line-interactive UPS system. One VSC is in parallel with the AC line reactor of the power source side, and the other is in series with the load. The parallel 4-leg voltage source inverter controls three-phase line voltage independently in order to control the line reactor current indirectly. It eliminates the neutral line current and the active ripple power of the source side using the pqr theory so that unity power factor and the sinusoidal source current can be achieved even though both the source and the load voltages have zero sequence components. The series 4-leg voltage source inverter compensates the line voltage and allows the load voltage to be balanced and harmonic-free. Both of parallel and series 4-leg voltage source inverters always act as independently controllable voltage sources, so that three-phase output voltage shows a seamless transition to the backup mode. The feasibility of the proposed UPS system has been investigated and verified through computer simulation results.

It is DC power that Output of renewable energy being recently developed and researched. Also, demand of DC power will expect to proliferate due to increase of digital load. Thus, DC distribution system providing high quality of power and reliability has emerged as a new distribution system. If the conventional distribution systems are substituted by proposed DC distribution system, the output of renewable energy can be connected with distribution systems under minimum power conversion. Therefore, in the event of connection with DC load, it can construct an efficient distribution system. In this paper, the integrated parallel operation of power conversion module for DC distribution system is proposed. Also, this paper proposed modularization of power conversion devices for DC distribution system and power control for parallel operation of large capacity system. DC distribution system consists of three power conversion modules such as AC/DC power conversion module 2 set, ESS module 1 set. DC distribution system controls suitable operation depending on the status of the DC power distribution system and load. Integrated operation of these systems is verified by simulation and experiment results.
In this paper, a high step-up DC-DC PWM converter with continuous input current and low voltage stress is presented for renewable energy application. The proposed converter is composed of a boost converter integrated with an auxiliary step-up circuit. The auxiliary circuit uses an additional coupled inductor and a balancing capacitor with voltage doubler and switching capacitor technique to achieve high step-up voltage gain with an appropriate switch duty cycle. The switched capacitors are charged in parallel and discharged in series by the coupled inductor, stacking on the output capacitor. In the proposed converter, the voltage stress on the main switch is clamped, so a low voltage switch with low ON resistance can be used to reduce the conduction loss which results in the efficiency improvement. A detailed discussion on the operating principle and steady-state analyses are presented in the paper. To justify the theoretical analysis, experimental results of a 200W 40/400V prototype is presented. In addition, the conducted electromagnetic emissions are measured which shows a good EMC performance.

This paper proposes the new type LED driver modularization for illumination LED driver. The proposed LED driver circuit insulates a hot GND of AC input power and a cold GND of LED driver part by using a fly-back converter. In order to control easily the current of the LED, the fly-back converter is operated in the discontinuous mode with excellent dynamic characteristics, and the characteristics of the LED are verified after the closed loop control is performed using a KIA2431. The LED driver module allows the wide AC power input ranges and realizes the burst dimming function which directly regulates a PWM control IC. This paper describes the operation principle of the LED driver module and it is proved the usefulness through the real model with experimentation. Besides, this paper proposes the multi-channel LED driver which the miniaturized and modularized LED driver module are connected by parallel, and verified its propriety by experiments.

KOMPSAT series use software-controlled unregulated bus system in which the main bus is directly connected to a battery and the duty-ratio for PWM switch is controlled by the on-board satellite software. This paper proposes a new power-stage circuit that can be available for modularization of the power regulator which is used at the software-controlled unregulated bus system satellite. And we analyze the proposed power-stage operation according to its operating modes and verify it by performing software simulation and hardware experiment using prototype. We constructs a parallel-module converter which is composed of proposed power-stages and perform experiment to verify modular characteristics of the proposed power-stage. Finally, we verify the usefulness of the proposed power-stage by comparing above results with those of a parallel-module converter made of conventional power-stages.
