한국의 대ASEAN 수산물 수출결정요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Determinant of Korean Fisheries Export to ASEAN)

  • The Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN) has been the most essential organization in Asia. In spite of the world economic crisis, Southeast Asian countries have shown fast economic growth since 2000, and they have been actively expanding investments and trades especially with major countries. Research on competitiveness in ASEAN market has spawned an increasingly large literature, but empirical research on the determinants of Korea's export to ASEAN is limited. The purpose of this study is to draw out the determinant of Korean fisheries export to ASEAN by carrying out a panel analysis. For achieving such a purpose, pooled OLS, Hausman Test, Fixed Effect, Random Effect are performed. The last 20 years' data over the period of 1995 to 2014 concentrated on the ASEAN 6 countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippine, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam is used in this study. Amount of aquatic products export to ASEAN is used as the dependent variable; real exchange rate, real GDP, relative price level and GDP per capita are used as the explanatory variables and FTA as dummy variable. Empirical results show that fixed-effect analysis is the best model among all the models. As the fixed effect model shows, real exchange rate, real GDP, GDP per capita and dummy variable(FTA) play positive and statistically significant roles in fisheries export to ASEAN, while price variable plays a negative and statistically significant role to the dependent variable.

The Impact of Broadband Access on Unemployment Rate in Indonesia 2016-2019

  • Purpose: This study aims to determine the effect of broadband access, education level, population numbers, and investment on the unemployment rate in Indonesia. Research design, data, and methodology: This study uses panel data from 34 provinces from 2016 to 2019. The analysis uses the fixed-effect model for panel data with the Feasible Generalized Least Square (FGLS) estimation method. Results: Broadband access has a negative and significant effect on the unemployment rate. Mean years of school, population, and foreign direct investment also have a negative and significant impact on the unemployment rate. In contrast, the domestic direct investment variable has a positive and significant effect. Conclusion: The availability of broadband access in an area allows easier and faster access to information. The ease of access to such information can affect producing goods and services, encouraging innovation and employment growth, and reducing the unemployment rate. This research recommends that the government intensify the Indonesia Broadband Plan policy to accelerate the development and equitable distribution of broadband access in all regions of Indonesia.

상용치료원 보유가 중노년층의 건강행동에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Usual Source of Care on Health Behavior of the Middle Aged and the Elderly)

  • Background: This study was conducted to analyze the impact of having a usual source of care on health behaviors of the middle aged and the elderly, in order to investigate the potential effect of enhancing primary health care in a Korean context. Methods: This study constructed a balanced panel of middle-aged and elderly samples using the Korea Health Panel 2016-2018, and fixed-effect models were used to analyze the data. Results: Among three sets of dependent variables (physical activity, smoking, drinking), statistically significant results were found only in physical activity. Subgroup analysis showed that this effect was not observed in the late elderly (aged 75 and older) and those without chronic diseases. Conclusion: Results of the study implied that enhancing primary health care among middle age and the elderly may have an effect on improving health behaviors. Moving forward to person-centered primary health care from disease-focused primary health care should be considered in high-risk groups such as the middle aged and the elderly with chronic diseases.

2008-2017 패널분석 결과에 나타난 개인-직무 적합성과 직무만족 간의 관계 (A Study on the Relationship between Person-Job Fit and Job Satisfaction shown in the Panel Data for 2008-2017)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of person-job fit, which consists of educational fit and skill fit, on employees' intrinsic job satisfaction. To the end, the 10-year balanced panel data of the Korean Labor and Income Panel Study(KLIPS) by the Korea Labor Institute (KLI) for 2008-2017 are utilized. This study analyzes 12,730 observations by 1,273 employees by using fixed effect model, random effect model, and pooled OLS estimation method. The empirical results are as follows: First, it is founded that educational fit and skill fit seem affect job satisfaction positively. Second, the negative effects of over-education are clear and the negative effects of under-education are unclear, while the effects of over-skilled and under-skilled are insignificant statistically. Third, the results imply that the size of effect of over-education on intrinsic job satisfaction is larger than that of the effect of over-skilled. Forth, it is shown that the use of fixed effect model is more effective and trustworthy than that of random effect model and pooled OLS estimation method, implying that the effect size of coefficients which are estimated by pooled OLS method and random effect model are likely over-estimated. The empirical results above imply that firms and employees should focus on solving over-education issue before all in order to enhance employees' job satisfaction and it is needed to monitor regularly whether systemic job assignment process is done based on the employees' educational attainment and skill level and to provide more chances for job re-allocation and job rotation.

반고정식 PV 시스템의 운영 스케줄 도출 및 그에 따른 발전 효율 변화 고찰 (Optimal Operation Schedule of Semi-Fixed PV System and Its Effect on PV Power Generation Efficiency)

  • The amount of solar irradiation obtained by a photovoltaic (PV) solar panel is the major factor determining the power generated by a PV system, and the array tilt angle is critical for maximizing panel radiation acquisition. There are three types of PV systems based on the manner of setting the array tilt angle: fixed, semi-fixed, and tracking systems. A fixed system cannot respond to seasonal solar altitude angle changes, and therefore cannot absorb the maximum available solar radiation. The tracking system continually adjusts the tilt angle to absorb the maximum available radiation, but requires additional cost for equipment, installation, operation, and maintenance. The semi-fixed system is only adjusted periodically (usually seasonally) to obtain more energy than a fixed system at an overall cost that is less than a tracking system. To maximize semi-fixed system efficiency, determining the optimal tilt angle adjustment schedule are required. In this research, we conducted a simulation to derive an optimal operation schedule for a semi-fixed system in Seoul, Korea (latitude $37.5^{\circ}$). We implemented a solar radiation acquisition model and PV genereation model on MATLAB. The optimal operation schedule was derived by changing the number of tilt angle adjustments throughout a year using a Dynamic Algorithm. The results show that adjusting the tilt angle 4 times a year was the most appropriate. and then, generation amount of PV system increased 2.80% compared with the fixed system. This corresponds to 99% compared to daily adjustment model. This increase would be quite valid as the PV system installation area increased.

패널자료를 이용한 가로구간 교통사고분석 - 청주시 간선도로를 사례로 - (Traffic Accident Analysis of Link Sections Using Panel Data in the Case of Cheongju Arterial Roads)

  • This study deals with the accident model using panel data which are composed of time series data of 2005 through 2007 and cross sectional data of link sections in Cheongju. Panel data are repeatedly collected over time from the same sample. The purpose of the study is to develop the traffic accident model using the above panel data. In pursuing the above, this study gives particular attentions to deriving the optimal models among various models including TSCSREG (Time Series Cross Section Regression). The main results are as follows. First, 8 panel data models which explained the various effects of accidents were developed. Second, $R^2$ values of fixed effect models were analyzed to be higher than those of random effect models. Finally, such the variables as the sum of the number of crosswalk on intersections and sum of the number of intersections were analyzed to be positive to the accidents.

MODIS 영상 자료와 패널 자료를 이용한 지표면온도변화 요인분석 (The Factor Analysis of Land Surface Temperature(LST) Change using MODIS Imagery and Panel Data)

  • 본 연구에서는 지표면 온도 변화에 미치는 주요 지역특성인자를 도출하고 각각의 인자가 미치는 확률적 영향계수를 추정하였다. 연구대상지역은 충청북도 전역이며 패널 분석을 위해 시 군 행정 단위로 분할하였다. 지표면온도 및 지역특성 시계열자료들은 MODIS 영상과 통계청자료를 사용하여 각각 구축하였다. 그리고 지표면온도와 횡단면자료인 지역특성인자들을 다중회귀관계로 설정하고 패널 모형 분석을 통하여 회귀계수 추정치를 산정하였다. 지표면온도와 지역특성인자는 패널 모형 분석에서 종속변수와 설명변수로 각각 사용하였다. 패널 자료 분석은 상용 통계프로그램 STATA14를 사용하였으며, 일원 개체 고정효과모형이 본 연구의 지표면온도 변화 해석에 가장 적절한 모형으로 선정되었다. 지표면온도 변화에 미치는 설명변수의 영향수준을 나타내는 기여율은 회귀방정식의 추정회귀계수로부터 구했다. 설명변수별 기여율은 도시 공업지역이 3.746로 가장 컸으며, 다음으로 평균고도${\times}$대지면적비율이 2.856, 전력사용량 2.742, 평균풍속 0.553, 비도시관리지역 0.102, 농림지역과 자연 환경보전지역은 0.085와 0.071 그리고 시 군의 평균강우량 한 단위 변화가 지표면온도 변화에 미치는 기여율은 0.003으로 추정되었다.

한.ASEAN FTA가 광양항 수출에 미치는 영향: 패널중력모형과 전향적 이동회귀의 적용 (Effects of Korea-ASEAN FTA on Export via Gwangyang Port: Application of the Panel Gravity Model and Rolling Regression)

  • 우리나라는 주요 선진국들이 지역주의를 확산시키고, FTA 체결 회원국 전체의 경제적 부가가치를 증대시킬 수 있다는 점에서 FTA를 적극적으로 추진하고 있다. 우리나라의 현재 FTA 추진 현황은 발효 9건, 타결 3건, 협상진행 6건, 협상재개 여건조성 3건, 협상준비(공동연구 포함) 4건으로, 한 중 FTA이 체결된다면 우리나라의 FTA 교역 비중은 조만간 전체 교역의 50%를 넘어설 것으로 예상된다. 그리고 우리나라 무역의 대부분이 해상을 통해서 이루어짐을 감안할 때 항만을 통한 무역패턴과 수출효과를 파악할 필요가 있다. 최근에는 전통적인 교역이론에서 고려되지 않았던 거리적 위치, 운송비용, 인구 수, 문화적 요인이 교역패턴에 영향을 미친다는 중력모형의 적용이 많이 늘어나고 있다. 이러한 배경 하에서 본고는 패널중력모형을 이용하여 광양항의 주요 교역 상대국의 수출결정요인을 식별하고, FTA가 광양항 수출에 미치는 영향의 크기를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 패널 수준변수들은 불안정적이고 1차 차분 후 안정성을 회복하였다. 다음 단계로 패널 공적분 검정을 통해 패널 수준변수들의 장기적 균형 관계가 존재함을 알 수 있었으며, 하우스만 검정을 통하여 고정효과 모형이 적합함을 밝힐 수 있었다. 패널중력모형 분석결과, 중력모형의 기본전제가 양호하게 성립하고, 지역무역협정의 수출증대 효과가 존재하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

중소기업 R&D 조세지원의 효과성 분석 및 개선방안 (Effectiveness of R&D Tax Credit for SMEs)

  • 본 연구는 우리나라 중소기업 R&D 조세지원의 효과성을 분석하고, 중소기업 R&D 활성화를 촉진할 수 있는 조세지원제도 개선방안을 도출하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 최근 3년간 기업별 조세감면액 자료에 고정효과 모형(Fixed Effect Model)과 확률효과 모형(Random Effect Model), 그리고 패널 음이항모형(Panel Negative Binomial Model)을 적용하여 분석을 수행하였다. 분석 결과, 동일 규모의 재정을 투입하는 경우 R&D 조세감면이 R&D 직접지원에 비해 R&D 투자 제고효과는 5.3배, 연구원 수 증가효과는 4.3배 높은 것으로 나타났다. 지역별로는 비수도권 소재 기업에서 조세감면의 효과가 직접 지원보다 높게 나타났다. 이를 바탕으로 중소기업 R&D 활성화를 위해 창업 중소기업의 미사용 R&D 세액공제액의 세금 포인트 전환, 중소기업의 R&D설비투자 비용에 대한 최저한세 적용 배제, R&D 세액공제 제도의 통합 운영 등의 개선방안을 제시하였다.

Oil consumption and economic growth: A panel data analysis

  • Oil is obviously vital for economic growth and industry development. This paper attempts to explore whether or not there is a inverted-U relationship between oil consumption and economic growth. To this end, we employ a panel data analysis with fixed effect or random effect models using the set of data from 61 countries for the year 1990-2008. In conclusion, a statistically significant inverted-U relationship between per capita consumption of oil and per capita GDP is found. However, the level of per capita GDP at the peak point of per capita oil consumption is estimated to be 65,072 in 2005 international constant dollars, which is much larger than economic scales of sampled countries. Thus, as per capita GDP grows, per capita oil consumption is predicted to increase until eventually reaching the peak.
