In this study the features expressed by the Korean dresses and its ornaments have been examined through the objects of this thesis, the concept of the pair, under the basis of Korean myths, from which esthetic and spiritual values have been derived. At first, the beauty of the balance pursuing the neatness. Since the pair is made with two piecess, at the time of the placement, the sense of the balance is obtained by the arrangement acccording to the dichotomous principle such as up and down or left and right. Sometimes, the pair could yield the natural pictorial composition, but almost of the time symmetrical composition. This kind of composition is made symmetrical like the structure of the human body, and it is resulted in a neat beauty, which visually presents a harmony, stability and intimacy. At second, the beauty of the harmony in the spirit of the oneness. From the dualistic combination basing on Korean myths, the common features and the significance of the co-existence, obtained from the combination of the pair of the pieces, could be found. By the oneness of the both elements, the creation principle, which is the basic one for a new life, could be established, and the mystery of the creation and the sense of the harmony could be found in it. At third, the wholeness of the completeness concept. The completeness could be felt rather by two than by one, and is provided with a room to be filled with the other one. Consequently, the outer dress is completed with the under dress, and its own beauty could only be made out when the two elements are harmonized. So, it is called as the pair. Like this, the concept about the pair taken roots in the ground of Korean emotions, is basing on the creation principle of the dualistic elements formed from the tradition of Korean myths, and the fact that the mental meaning pursuing the harmony dwells in Korean dress and its ornaments could be confirmed.

The purpose of this study was to investigate whether preschoolers' peer interaction type and level differ depending on pair compositon and task type. Preschoolers' peer interaction type and level were compared among three kinds of pair compositions(with a Younger peer, with a same-age peer, and with an older peer) as well as between two types of tasks(tasks involving real objects, and tasks involving pictures). Subjects were seventy-eight four-year-old children recruited from six child-care centers in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. The preschoolers were randomly assigned to one of the three kinds of pair compositions. Interaction processes of the pairs were recorded by a video camera, and the scenes were transcribed for content analyses. The traniscribed peer interactions were coded according to the categories that the researcher had generated. Statistical methods used for the data analysis were frequencies, percentiles, means, standard deviations, repeated measures ANOVA, paired t-tests, one-way ANOVA. Major findings of this study were as follows: There were significant differences preschoolers' in interaction type depending on the pair compositions and the types of tasks. The preschoolers paired with the older peer used abstract collaborative explanations more frequently than in two other types of pair composition. The preschoolers paired with the younger peer used explanations without collaboration and parallel behaviors more frequently than in two other types of pair composition.

In this paper we wish to introduce the concept of generalized relative index-pair (𝛼, 𝛽) of a p-adic entire function with respect to another p-adic entire function and then prove some results relating to the growth rates of composition of two p-adic entire functions with their corresponding left and right factors.

Subcellular localization is a key functional char acteristic of proteins. With the number of sequences entering databanks rapidly increasing, the importance of developing a powerful tool to identify protein subcellular location has become self-evident. In this paper, we introduce a novel method for predic ting protein subcellular locations from protein sequences. The main idea was motivated from the observation that amino acid pair composition data is redundant. By classifying from multiple feature subsets and using many kinds of amino acid pair composition s, we forced the classifiers to make uncorrelated errors. Therefore when we combined the predictors using a voting scheme, the prediction accuracy c ould be improved. Experiment was conducted on several data sets and significant improvement has been achieve d in a jackknife test.

In this paper we will consider the weighted composition operator $W=uC_{\varphi}$ between two different $L^p(X,\;\Sigma,\;\mu)$ spaces, generated by measurable and non-singular transformations $\varphi$ from X into itself and measurable functions u on X. We characterize the functions u and transformations $\varphi$ that induce weighted composition operators between $L^p-spaces$ by using some properties of conditional expectation operator, pair $(u,\;\varphi)$ and the measure space $(X,\;\Sigma,\;\mu)$. Also, Fredholmness of these type operators will be investigated.

The fishing grounds of Korean large-pair trawlers have shifted since exclusive economic zones (EEZs) were established in a fisheries agreement involving countries neighboring Korean waters. The distributions of marine ecosystems and fisheries resources have been changing with environmental changes such as global warming and with the shift in species targeted as a result of changes in fishing technology and fishing gear. This study analyzed variation in the species assemblages caught in Korean waters by large-pair trawlers as a result of these geopolitical and environmental changes. The data used in this study were obtained from the Fishery Production Statistics of Korea and the Port Sample Survey of the National Fisheries Research and Development Institute (NFRDI) from 1990 to 2007. Hierarchical clustering analysis (HCA) and correspondence analysis (CA) were used to explore the characteristics of the catch-species composition. The overall variation in the species composition of the catch of Korean large-pair trawlers showed that the proportions of croaker Johnius grypotus, small yellow croaker Larimichthys polyactis, eel Anguilla japonica, and blue crab Portunus trituberculatus decreased, whereas those of hairtail Trichiurus lepturus, Spanish mackerel Scomberomorus niphonius, anchovy Engraulis japonicus, and common squid Todarodes pacificus increased in Korean waters over the 18-year period. The results of the HCA of the annual catch data by species showed four different distributions of fish species according to year. Results of the CA showed that the species assemblages differed between the 1990s and 2000s.

Counterion-specific helix formation and ion-selective transport of alkali metal chlorides (LiCl, NaCl, KCl, CsCl) were investigated for a poly(L-glutamic acid)(PLGA)/poly (vinyl alcohol)(PVA) blend membrane immersed in aqueous ethanol. The counterion specificity for helix formation of PLG alkali metal salts in the membrane was Li>Na>K>Cs. This specificity is ascribed to a contact ion-pair formation between the PLG carboxyl anion and the bound counterion, which depends on the energy balance between the electrostatic interaction and the desolvation. In aqueous ethanol, an appreciable ion-selectivity was observed for the permeability coefficient, i.e. Li$^{+}{\cdot}$Cl$^{-}$) formation between counterion and coion, and the latter to a specific interaction of diffusing counterions with polymer charges.

A new spectrophotemetric method was estalished for the determination of oleic acid. This method is based on the 1,2-dichloroe-thane extraction of the ion-pair formed between methylene blue and oleic acid. But the absorbance of an ion-pair in the 1,2-dichloroe-thane layer was variable with the temperature, the ion-pair was extracted back into a diluted hydrochloric acid solution. The maximum absorbance of the acid extract observed at $660m{\mu}$ and a lineal relationship was observed from the initial amount over the range of $50-800{\gamma}/ml$ of oleic acid in the aqueous phase. The composition ratio of the ion-pair formed between methylene blue and oleic acid was determined to be 2 : 1 by both the mole ratio and continuous variation methods.
