This study is to find out whether the family life education can help the middle aged wives to resolve their problems and to keep their lives healthy. For this purpose self-administered questionnaires were used for 628 persons whose ages between 40 to 59 residing in the Metropolitan Area of Soul. Deta collected were analyzed by statistical methods such as the factor analysis frequency distribution percentile mean t-test chi-square Anova and Duncan's multiple range test through the SAS program package. Major results obtained are as follows; 1) The most demanding education content in the are of the spousal relationship was the helping program for the role change from parent-child relationship to spousal relationship. Employed wives demanded conflict resolution skill training program between parents and children while house wives showed the highest interest in guiding their children's future. 2) There are significant differences between employed wives and house wives in the areas f parent-child relationship communication and home managment of the need assessment. In detail employed wives showed higher interest in education the children more independent than house wives. Employed wives also showed higher interest than house wives in the education content about the factors for communication problems in the communication area. 3) About the application method in the family life education there was no significant difference between employed wives and house wives in terms of the necessity of the problem solving methods of follow-up meeting in the family life education while there was a significant difference in the past education program participation intention to participate in the future education program and the education setting between employed wives and house wives.

This study is on the development of a System Dynamics Model for business feasibility analysis of an apartment house development project. In this study, we analyzed other apartment development projects and research projects, and identified the cash flow items, which consist of revenue and expenditure items. In addition, we made efforts to find the influence relationship among these using the system thinking method and developed a system dynamics model. In order to test the model, a case study was conducted in which it was applied to an apartment development project. Vensim, a System Dynamics Modeling and simulation software package was used to analyze and test the model. The model suggested in this study can help a developer to make decisions on project financing at the initial stage of an apartment house development project.
Recent industrial requirements for highly precise shape processing have brought the electric discharge machining (EDM) in great need. High precision in EDM is primarily achieved by high performance controllers. However there exists inherent precision loss due to structural deformation. On this background, we study structural deformation characteristics of wire cut EDM via finite element (FE) analysis and axiomatic design. Two different wire cut EDMs are selected as analysis models. 3D CAD package I-Deas is first used to construct FE models of wire cut EDMs, and then ABAQUS FE code is used for following structural analysis. Pertinency of FE mesh refinement is discussed in terms of ${\eta}-factor$. It is shown that performance accuracy of EDM depends strongly on the structural characteristics. Some design enhancements are suggested in an axiomatic design point of view. Finally we provide weight and temperature induced displacement discrepancies between wire end points as position functions of each subframe.
Recently, increasing interests in local foods have been highlighted along with active efforts and activities from autonomy organizations to develop local cultures and promote local economies by generating value added products and profits through the development of local foods. Subsequently, useful effects might result by making local foods attractive to tourists, such as by using indigenous Gimpo products to make menu items that incorporate the social, economic, and cultural aspects of the Gimpo area, and contributing to its food culture, the development and use of its indigenous products, and promoting local restaurant businesses, etc. The items of the survey used to select the local food menu items to be developed were limited to ideas offered by expert groups, and were implemented by a new menu development process. In order to derive the menu items to develop, the following method was applied: a brainstorming session with experts to generate and draft ideas, a questionnaire to chefs and cooks in special grade hotels is Seoul to select the menu items to develop from those drafted, and sensory evaluations by experts to evaluate the developed items. Frequency analysis and technical statistical analysis were performed using the SPSS 12.0 program package, where 13 kinds of local foods were ultimately developed using indigenous products of Gimpo. The developed local food menu items were rice & grape sujaebi, grape sikhae, fried rice embryo bud, grape yanggaeng, rice pancakes, rice spaghetti, grape seed oil dressing, grape sauce, rice pizza, grape pie, rice & grape ice cream, grape chocolate, and rice roll cakes.

Purpose : To investigate major characteristics influencing on adolescent smoking in Korea. Method : The subjects were 431 students (298 male and 133 female) enrolled in the non smoking program at Seoul School Health Promotion Center from March 2006 to February 2007. The survey was done about motivation of smoking, the way of getting cigarettes and frequency, chi-square test, and t-test by SAS package 8.1 were used to analyze the data. Result : Total 431 subjects were composed of 49.2% middle school students, 50.8% high school students. The middle school students who smoke 1 to less than 10 cigarettes per day were 56.1% and 10 to less than 20 cigarettes per day 26.7%, while high school students were 46.8% and 44.1%. 73.1% of male, and 76.9% of female students selected the cigarettes depending on taste and fragrance. The places of buying cigarettes were supermarkets 67%, convenience stores 19.4%, small stores 11.8%. A high percentage of students answered they did not have to show ID when they bought cigarettes(“rarely checked the ID” 25.2% of male and 30.8% of female, ”did not checked at all” was 10.9% male and 9.6% female). The ratio of spending money on buying cigarettes was 38.8% and 35.6% in male and female middle school, and 37.9% and 27.2% in male and female high school. Conclusion : Findings of this study suggests the constituting of strong social regulations to protect youth from smoking.
This study is to assess the application of SWAT-CUP(Soil and Water Assessment Tool-Calibration Uncertainty Programs) and to extend daily flow data from 8-day interval flow data which has been measured by Korean Ministry of Environment(MOE). Model sensitivity analysis and calibration were performed with sequential uncertainty fitting(SUIF-2), which is one of the programs interfaced with SWAT, in the package SWAT-CUP. The most sensitive parameters were SOL_K.sol, CH_N2.rte, CN2.mgt, SOL_BD.sol, ALPHA_BF.gw, ALPHA_BNK.rte, SOL_AWC.sol, CH_K2.rte, SFTMP.bsn, GW_DELAY.gw. Following the sensitivity analysis, SWAT-CUP calibration was carried out using 8-day interval flow data from January 2008 to December 2010. The results were then assessed based on the visual agreement and simulated flow plots and the performance statistics generated $R^2$ and NSE which are 0.71 and 0.61 respectively. Results of these statistics indicated that there was a good agreement between the observed and simulated flow. To extend daily flow data from 8-day interval flow data, parameters, which were estimated by SWAT-CUP, re-entered for SWAT model. As a result, the observed flow data were found to reflect the trend of simulated flow data. From these results, it is thought that this method could be used to provide daily flow data using 8-day interval flow data.

Energy content, expressed as calories per gram, is an important part of the evaluation and marketing of foods in developed countries. Currently accepted methods of measurement of energy by U.S. food labeling legislation include measurement of gross calories by bomb calorimetry with an adjustment for undigested protein and by calculation using specific factors for the energy values of protein, carbohydrate less the amount of insoluble dietary fiber, and total fat. The ability of NIRS to predict the energy value of diverse, processed and unprocessed cereal food products was investigated. NIR spectra of cereal products were obtained with an NIR Systems monochromator and the wavelength range used for analysis was 1104-2494 nm. Gross energy of the foods was measured by oxygen bomb calorimetry (Parr Manual No. 120) and expressed as calories per gram (CPGI, range 4.05-5.49 cal/g). Energy value was adjusted for undigested protein (CPG2, range 3.99-5.38 cal/g) and undigested protein and insoluble dietary fiber (CPG3, range 2.42-5.35 cal/g). Using a multivariate analysis software package (ISI International, Inc.) partial least squares models were developed for the prediction of energy content. The standard error of cross validation and multiple coefficient of determination for CPGI using modified partial least squares regression (n=127) was 0.060 cal/g and 0.95, respectively, and the standard error of performance, coefficient of determination, bias and slope using an independent validation set (n=59) were 0.057 cal/g, 0.98, -0.027 cal/g and 1.05 respectively. The PLS loading for factor 1 (Pearson correlation coefficient 0.92) had significant absorption peaks correlated to C-H stretch groups in lipid at 1722/1764 nm and 2304/2346 nm and O-H groups in carbohydrate at 1434 and 2076 nm. Thus the model appeared to be predominantly influenced by lipid and carbohydrate. Models for CPG2 and CPG3 showed similar trends with standard errors of performance, using the independent validation set, of 0.058 and 0.088 cal/g, respectively, and coefficients of determination of 0.96. Thus NIRS provides a rapid and efficient method of predicting energy content of diverse cereal foods.

Earned Value Management System(EVMS) is a management technique that is emerging as a valuable tool in the management of all projects, including and in particular construction projects. It is based on C/SCSC that has been released by the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) in 1967. In a project that employs the earned value management concept, the project's measurable performance plans will be formed with the creation of CAPs. The formation of CAPs is a planning step necessary to form an earned value baseline. In this paper, a method is proposed to form CAPs using Material Requirement Planning(MRP) that is also known as a useful planning tool in the manufacturing industry. An application to a real project has been carried through workpackaging model.
The necessity of school health promoting projects is well known to many researchers, however, there is a lack of research on the development of strategies for school health programs and the evaluation of the effectiveness of the programs. The results of our previous study in 1996 identified poor eyesight as one of the several health problems among elementary school children in urban areas. The main objective of this study is to develop, implement, and evaluate vision care for elementary school children. The research method utilized a quasi experimental design using non-equivalent group, pre-post comparison. The sample consisted of all second grade children in two elementary schools in Kyung-giProvince. In order to prevent a contamination effect of the vision care program, one school was selected as a control and the other school was selected as a treatment group. The experimental school had 467 children and the control school had 402 children. The visual acuity of children in both group was measured and a survey questionnaire was sent out to parents on the knowledge, attitude, and behavior related to vision care before the program was implemented. The children of the experimental school received the following programs; separate education on proper nutrition and care of eyesight for children and parents, daily eye exercises using video tape, and an essay and poster contest on healthy eyesight. The eye exercise program lasted from March, 1997 to November, 1997. On November, 1997, visual acuity was measured again from children in both schools. The data was analyzed by using SAS statistical package. The results indicate that the children in the experimental group had significantly (p〈0.001) better eyesight than the children in the control group. Also, some of the behavior highly related to the poor eyesight are poor maternal eyesight and watching TV from a short distance. In conclusion, one of the significance of this project is that the vision care program was developed after the need assessment. It will be encouraged in the future that more school health program should be developed after a need assessment. Also, inclusion of family members was important in health promoting projects within a school setting since healthy behavior needs to be reinforced at horne as well as at school.
