Background: A novel technique for the repair of tears of the upper subscapularis tendon-intraarticular knotless fixation-has been introduced recently. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical and structural outcomes of arthroscopic intraarticular knotless fixation for the treatment of upper subscapularis tendon tears. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the clinical and radiological outcomes of 27 patients who underwent arthroscopic intraarticular knotless fixation for upper subscapularis tendon tears. Finally, a total of 10 patients who could participate in at least a 6 month follow-up of magnetic resonance imaging evaluation and in a least 1-year follow-up on an outpatient basis were enrolled in our study. The mean age at the time of operation was 60.7 years, and the mean duration of follow-up was 14.7 months. Two patients had concomitant tears of the supraspinatus tendon and 8 patients had concomitant tears of the supraspinatus and the infraspinatus tendons. Results: The clinical and radiological outcomes improved after the patients had undertaken arthroscopic intraarticular knotless fixation. The mean visual analogue scale score for pain during motion improved from 6.7 preoperatively to 1.4 at the final follow-up (p<0.001). The mean Constant score improved from 59.3 preoperatively to 79.6 at the final follow-up, and the mean the University of California at Los Angeles score, from 21.7 to 30.2, respectively (p<0.001 and p<0.001). The upper subscapularis tendon tear was healed in every patient except one (90%), for the patient had suffered from a postoperative trauma that resulted in a retear. Conclusions: We found that arthroscopic intraarticular knotless fixation gives good clinical and structural outcomes for the repair of upper subscapularis tendon tears. Arthroscopic intraarticular knotless fixation provided such a reliable and efficient restoration of the subscapularis tendon footprint that we anticipate it will become a widely-used procedure for upper subscapularis tendon tears.
PURPOSE. To assess removable prosthetic restoration tolerance according to the patient section of the short form of the Gagging Problem Assessment Questionnaire (GPA-pa SF) and the influence of gender, education level and prosthesis type and denture-related mucosal irritation on the GPA-pa SF scores before treatment and over a period of two months after prosthesis insertion. MATERIALS AND METHODS. 130 participants who required removable prosthesis were surveyed with a standard form that included questions regarding age, gender, education level, dental attendance, and prosthetic restoration type. Participants answered the GPA-pa SF before restoration (T0) and 1 day (T1), 2 days (T2), 15 days (T3), 1 month (T4), and 2 months (T5) after prosthesis insertion. RESULTS. Of the 130 participants, 110 participants completed the prosthetic restoration procedure, but only 93 of these were able to use the prosthesis over the two-month period. The mean GPA-pa SF score obtained at T0 was higher than the scores obtained at the other periods in the total of the sample. Significant difference was present between mean scores obtained at T0-T1 and T2-T3 than scores obtained at other periods (P<.05). Female participants and participants with denture-related mucosal irritation had higher GPA-pa SF scores at all time points analysed. Significant difference was present between mean GPA-pa SF scores obtained at T2-T3 than scores obtained at other periods for females and participants with denture-related mucosal irritation (P<.05). Education level and prosthesis type did not significantly influence the GPA-pa SF score at any time point analysed (P>.05). CONCLUSION. GPA-pa SF scores were higher before the restoration procedure began, and decreased over time with the use of prosthesis. Gender and denture-related mucosal irritation affected the GPA-pa SF scores.
Biosorption is considered to be a promising alternative to replace the present methods for the treatment of dye-containing wastewater. In this study, sewage sludge was used as a biosorbent which could be one of the cheapest and most abundant biomaterials. The objective of this work is to develop a surface-modified biosorbent with enhanced sorption capacity and binding affinity. The FT-IR and potentiometric titration studies revealed that carboxyl, phosphateand amine groups played a role in binding of dye molecules. The binding sites for reactive dye Reactive Red 4 (RR 4) were identified to be amino groups present in the biomass. In this work, based on the biosorption mechanism, the performance of biosorbentcould be enhanced by the removal of inhibitory carboxyl groups from the biomass for practical application of the biosorbents. As a result, the maximum capacity of biomass was increased up to 130% and 210% of the increment of sorption capacity at pH 2 and 4, respectively. Therefore, chemically modified sewage sludge can be used as an effective and low-cost biosorbent for the removal of dyes from industrial discharges.
Electrochemical properties of the oxygen electrode in phosphoric acid fuel cell have been studied using AC impedance method as a function of applied potential, operating temperature and teflon content in the electrode. The oxygen electrode reaction in the $105wt.\%$ phosphoric acid is characterized by a parallel resistive component, $R_p$ and a capacitive component, $C_p$ with serial electrolyte resistance, $R_s$. The conductivity of the phosphoric acid is found to be 0.31-0.47 S/cm in the range of $130\;to\;190^{\circ}C$ from the measured impedance. The increase of applied potential and temperature produced the decreased RP and the increased $C_p$, which means the increase of the oxygen electrode reaction rate. The single cells with the cathode of various teflon contents were tested, and the cathode with $40wt.\%$ teflon showed good performance, which is considered to be related to an optimized impedance behavior.
The purpose of this study is to explore methods to prevent and improve the problem of overdependence on smartphones by analyzing the differences in satisfaction with college life satisfaction of freshmen. For this, data on freshmen of KCYPS were extracted and used. The data were analyzed using non-hierarchical cluster(K-means) analysis, T-test, one-way ANOVA, and Scheffé tests. The results of this study are as follows. First, it has been shown that freshmen who are overdependent on smartphones experience inconvenience in their daily life, withdrawal and anxiety, and resistance. Second, there is no significant difference in the level of satisfaction with college life according to gender(t=-.015, p<.05). Third, it is shown that the level of satisfaction with college life of overdependent freshmen on smartphone is significantly lower compared to that of average and moderate dependent freshmen. Based on the results, it was suggested that university-level efforts such as emotional support and learning strategy support are needed for freshmen who are overdependent on smartphones.

For a long time, traditional culture has been regarded as one of the sources of the inspiration, method and language of Chinese writing. In this article, we studied the medium- and long-term impact of a traditional Chinese culture seminar attended by college students on the output of creative writing. The seminar included traditional Chinese philosophy, history, literature, art, etc. It spanned three years (22 months) and held lectures lasting for approximately two hours once a week. The subjects of the prospective cohort study included 130 first-year college students who participated in the seminar and 130 controls. From September 2016 to June 2018, 72 lectures were held. We measured the creative writing output from the first lecture (September 2016) to December 2021 (64 months in total), including novels, essays, poems, and plays. Two indicators, the total number of words (TNW) and the quality of yield (QY), were evaluated by a 15-member panel. Although the TNW and QY of the participants and their controls were similar before the seminar, we found that the participants have higher TNW and QY than the controls after participating in the seminar. The difference in TNW became significant after month 51 (p<0.05), and the difference in QY became significant after month 46 (p<0.05). After these dates, the differences stabilized. In addition, text analysis indicates that by month 64, traditional cultural elements in the works of the participating group had a higher frequency (p<0.001). The research shows that the traditional culture seminar not only enhanced the yield of college students' creative writing but also improved the quality of their work. The traditional cultural elements enriched the works of the seminar participants.

This experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of the various stage of growth on dry matter yield and chmical composition of forage oat(Avena sativa. L.). Seeds were planted on March 13 1993 on the Livestock Experimental Farm Keiymung junior college at keongsan Keongsangbukdo. Oat plant were harvested at various stages of maturity while the oat was in the premature stages. 1. Whole plant dry matter increased with advancing maturity. It was 11.8, 12.3, 14.9, 25.6 and 28.8% at before flag leaf emerged, flag leaf emerged, heads emerged, milk and dough stage., respectively. Dry matter increased very little during from before flag leaf emerged to heads emerged, after which it increased rapidly until the plant was dough stage. 2. Leaf weight ratio decreased with advancing maturity from before flag leaf emerged to dough, varied fmm 58 to 1 1%. Grain(with lemma, palea) increased with advancing maturity from heads emerged to dough, varied from 7 to 43%. 3. The content of cmde protein decreased during the stages of growth until milk(P<.OS), and then changed very little with advancing maturity. 4. The content of NDF and ADF increased rapidly during the early growth period until heading(P<.05) and then decreased due to the increase in carbohydrate storage in the grain. 5. The dry matter yields per ha increased with advancing maturity, it was 2,420, 4,380, 7,190, 13,130 and 14,530kg at before flag leaf emerged, flag leaf emerged, heads emerged, milk and early dough, respectively. Significant difference has been obtained among stages of growth(P< .05). 6. According to the results obtained from this study, it is suggested that milk stage of maturity is higher in dry matter yields would be recomendable for spring oat for silage.
Background: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of WBC (whole-body cryotherapy)on the MVIC (maximal voluntary isometric contraction)and active ROM (range of motion) recovery of after EIMD (exercise-induced muscle injury). Design: Randomized Controlled Trial. Methods: Thirty subjects who are student in their 20s at a university participated in this study, these subjects were assigned into three groups, a control group (n=10), experiment group I(n=10), and experiment group II (n=10). The subjects in the experimental group II were intervened by WBC (-130℃, 3 minutes) before induced EIMD, the experimental group were intervened by WBC (-130℃, 3 minutes) after induced EIMD, and the control group weren't by any intervened after induced EIMD. Results: First, In the comparison of the MVIC, there were significant variations with the lapse the time in three groups (p<.001) and there was a significant interaction of time and group (p<.001). In the among group comparison, the MVIC of experimental group II was significantly larger than those of other groups (p<.001). Second, In the comparison of the active extension angle, there were significant variations with the lapse the time in three groups (p<.001) and there was a significant interaction of time and group (p<.001). In the among group comparison, the active extension angle of experimental group II was significantly smaller than those of other groups (p<.001). Third, In the comparison of the active flexion angle, there were significant variations with the lapse the time in three groups (p<.01) and there was a significant interaction of time and group (p<.001). In the among group comparison, the active flexion angle of experimental group II was significantly larger than those of other groups (p<.05). Conclusion: The above results revealed that the WBC intervention after an exercise had a positive effect of muscle function after EIMD. Therefore we can consider the WBC as a considerable intervention method to prevent or reduce an exercise injury.

Purpose: Smart insoles are wearable devices that are inserted into shoes. Smart insoles with built-in pressure and acceleration sensors can measure the plantar pressure, stride length, and walking speed. This study evaluated the validity and reliability of the plantar pressure measurements of smart insoles during walking on flat ground. Materials and Methods: Twenty one subjects were included in this study. After wearing smart insoles, I-SOL® (Gilon, Seongnam, Korea), the subjects walked a 10 m corridor six times at a rate of 100 steps/min, and the middle three steps, free from direction changes, were chosen for data analysis. The same protocol was repeated after wearing Pedar-X (Novel Corporation, Munich, Germany), an insoletype plantar pressure measurement equipment with proven validity. The average maximum pressure (Ppeak, kPa) and the time at which Ppeak appeared (Ptime, %stride) were calculated for each device. The validity of smart insoles was evaluated by using the interclass correlation coefficient (ICC) of Ppeak and Ptime between the two instruments, and Cronbach's alpha was obtained from the Ppeak values to evaluate the reliability. Results: The ICC of Ppeak was 0.651 (good) in the hallux, 0.744 (good) in the medial forefoot, 0.839 (excellent) in the lateral forefoot, and 0.854 (excellent) in the hindfoot. The ICC of Ptime showed 0.868 (excellent) in the hallux, 0.892 (excellent) in the medial forefoot, 0.721 (good) in the lateral forefoot, and 0.832 (excellent) in the hindfoot. All ICC values showed good or excellent results. The Cronbach's alpha of Ppeak measured in the smart insoles was 0.990 in the hallux, 0.961 in the medial forefoot, 0.973 in the lateral forefoot, and 0.995 in the hindfoot; all indicated excellent reliability in all areas. Conclusion: The plantar pressure measurements of smart insoles during walking on a flat ground showed validity compared to Pedar-X, and high reliability after repeated measurements.
The purpose of the study was to identify the maternal & paternal-fetal attachment. The subjects were 130 pregnant women and 85 their husbands. Data were collected in OB & GY clinic by modified Cranley's Maternal-Fetal Attachment Scale. The results were as follows : 1. The mean scores of maternal-fetal attachment (MFA) was 75.57(range: 48-92). The most frequently practiced attachment item was "I can hardly walt to hold the baby(mean 4.32)". The mean scores of paternal-fetal attachment (PFA) was 65.48(range : 48-92). The most frequently practiced attachment item was "I can hardly wait to hold the baby(mean 4.25)". 2. There were significant difference in the degree of MFA, namely, gestational period(p=.020), whether the women had been special things(p=.000) and had experiened on ultrasound scan(p=.001). In the PFA, gestational period(p=.013) gravida(p=.016), duration of marriage(p=.001), family type(p=.036) and whether the women had a health problem(p=.035) were significant difference in degree of attachment. In conclusions, it can be said that parent demonstrated mid-level of attachment to their fetus during pregnancy. Several other factors seemed to be related, indicating a need for further study on maternal & paternal-fetal attachment. It will designed and managed parental class to promoting maternal & paternal-fetal attachment.
