황토를 이용한 축산폐수의 처리에 관한 연구 (Treatment of Livestock Wastewater with Coagulant-loess)

  • 본 연구에서는 구입이 용이한 황토를 이용하여 축산폐수외 화학적 응집 처리제로서의 적용가능성과 최적 응집조건을 찾고 기존에 사용되어 왔던 고분자 응집제(PAC, PACS, LAS)와 응집성능을 비교하였다. 연구 결과 황토와 생석회의 최적 혼합비율은 3:7이었으며, 이 혼합 응집제의 적정 주입량은 30 g/L이었다. 기존 응집제와 비교실험에서는 loess : lime = 3 : 7의 경우 탁도, SS, BOD, $COD_{er}$, T-P, TKN의 제거효율이 각각 95.8%, 92.5%, 71.6%, 71.1%, 98.2%. 32.5%를 나타내었다. Loess : lime = 3 : 7은 응집제로서 사용할 수 있으며, 생산된 슬러지는 토양개량제로서의 사용 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다.

지반개량재로서 제지회의 활용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Application of Paper Fly Ash as Stabilization/Hardening Agent)

  • 산업부산물인 제지회의 연약지반 표층고화처리 등을 목적으로 하는 지반개량재로써의 활용가능성을 모색하였다. 100% 제지회와 강도증진 등을 위한 2차 첨가재로써 시멘트 및 소량의 황산염(sulfate)성분을 첨가한 각각의 제지회 혼합토에 대하여 일축압축강도, 전자주사현미경관찰, pH분석 등을 수행하였다. 모든 경우에 있어서 양생이 진행됨에 따라서, 혼합비의 증가에 따라서, 혼합토의 강도는 증가하나 혼합초기에 거의 대부분의 강도가 발현되며 강도증가 효율면에서는 흙과의 혼합비가 9% 내외에서 최대 효율을 나타낸다. 제지회만을 사용하는 경우에 비하여 제지회에 함유된 시멘트량이 10~30%까지는 약 2배의 강도가 증가하며 시멘트 함유량이 40%일 경우에는 5~8배 정도 강도가 증가한다. 포졸란 반응 및 수화물의 생성에 유리한 환경을 나타내는 조건은 시멘트 함유량이 20%이상의 제지회를 7%이상 흙과 혼합했을 경우이다. 제지회만을 사용하는 경우에는 수화반응 또는 포졸란 반응이 활발하지 못하며, 흙과의 혼합비가 10% 이상에서 활발하게 유산석회수화물이 생성된다.

미세유동화법으로 제조한 캡사이신 함유 나노에멀션의 안정성 (Preparation and Stability of Capsaicin-loaded Nanoemulsions by Microfluidazion)

  • The objectives of this study, which filled gaps in previous studies, were: (1) to find the optimal mixing condition of nanoemulsions containing oleoresin capsicum (OC), Tween 80, propylene glycol (PG), and sucrose monostearate (SES) by microfluidization; (2) to investigate their properties and stability depending on such factors as pH, temperature, and heating time; (3) to measure the effect of adding ascorbic acid. In order to test these objectives, the following three experiments were conducted: Firstly, in order to find the optimal mixing ratio, nanoemulsions containing OC - the mean diameter of which is smaller than 100 nm - were prepared through the process of microfluidization; and their mean particle size, zeta potential, and capsaicinoids were measured. The test results indicated that the mixing ratio at OC : Tween 80 : PG + water(1:2) = 1 : 0.2 : 5 was optimal. Secondly, the properties and stability of nanoemulsions were investigated with varying parameters. The test results illustrated that single-layer nanoemulsions and double-layer nanoemulsions coated with alginate were stable, irrespective of all the parameters other than/except for pH 3. Thirdly, the properties of nanoemulsions were then analyzed according to the addition of ascorbic acid. The results demonstrated that the properties of single-layer nanoemulsions were not affected by addition of ascorbic acid. In case of alginate double-layer nanoemulsions, the particle size was reduced, and zeta potential increased with the addition of ascorbic acid. In conclusion, the demonstrated stability of various nanoemulsions under the different conditions in the present study suggests that these findings may constitute a basis in manufacturing various food-grade products which use nanoemulsions-and indicate that food nanoemulsions, if adopted in the food industry, have the potential to satisfy both the functionality and acceptability requirements necessary to produce commercially marketable food-grade products.

현미와 현미분말 첨가량에 따른 현미와플 및 주먹밥의 소비자 기호도 조사 (Effects of Brown Rice and Brown Rice Powder Mixing Ratio on the Preference Analysis of the Waffles and Rice Ball)

  • This study surveyed consumers' sensory liking ratings of 3 types of developed brown rice products (brown rice nut waffles, Kimchi and tuna rice ball, sweet red-bean paste rice ball) and analyzed the drivers for liking or disliking the brown rice products. Each brown rice product had a brown rice to brown rice powder ratio of either: 100:0; 80:20; or 50:50. Forty consumers evaluated the acceptance of brown rice products on a 9-point hedonic scale and gave comments regarding liking or disliking each product. The results of the preference investigation analysis showed subjectivity depending on the brown rice product and the respondents' genders and ages. For brown rice nut waffles was affected by gender, age, and brown rice powder mixing ratio (p < 0.05). The variables "liking the aroma"; "liking the delicate flavor"; "liking the chewiness"; "liking the moistness"; "liking the softness"; "liking the harmony"; "liking the aftertaste" and "overall acceptability" did not differ significantly with the Kimchi and tuna rice ball. For the sweet red-bean paste rice ball product, the rates of liking the chewiness, stickiness, moistness, and softness of the 0% brown rice powder mix were all higher (p < 0.05) than were the rates of liking those same qualities in the 50% brown rice powder mix. Among all brown rice products, there were high correlations between the overall acceptability, liking the saltiness, liking the aroma, and liking the harmony. A preference investigation analysis showed that the brown rice product fillings were key factors to the products' overall acceptability.

껍질 형태의 과일폐기물과 하수슬러지를 이용한 회분식 혐기 소화공정에서 메탄 생산 (Methane Production Using Peel-type Fruit Wastes and Sewage Sludge in Batch Anaerobic Digestion Process)

  • 본 연구는 사과나 귤의 껍질류 과일 폐기물과 하수슬러지가 혼합된 유기성 폐기물을 이용한 회분식 혐기 분해공정에서 메탄 생산이 고찰되었다. 사과껍질 또는 귤껍질이 하수슬러지와 혼합된 기질로 사용되어졌을 때, 3 : 7의 혼합비로 운전한 것이 가장 높은 메탄 생산을 나타내었다. 그러나, 이 비율 이상에서는 사과와 귤 껍질이 함유된 유기산으로 인하여 혼합물의 pH가 8.0에서 4.5~4.7으로 감소하였으며, 결과적으로 메탄 생산이 낮아졌다. 이러한 실험 결과들은 사과, 귤 껍질과 하수슬러지의 혼합된 회분식 혐기 소화 공정에서 바이오에너지로서 메탄가스의 생산 시스템에 효과적으로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

In vitro cytotoxicity of four calcium silicate-based endodontic cements on human monocytes, a colorimetric MTT assay

  • Objectives: This study was performed to evaluate the cytotoxicity of four calcium silicate-based endodontic cements at different storage times after mixing. Materials and Methods: Capillary tubes were filled with Biodentine (Septodont), Calcium Enriched Mixture (CEM cement, BioniqueDent), Tech Biosealer Endo (Tech Biosealer) and ProRoot MTA (Dentsply Tulsa Dental). Empty tubes and tubes containing Dycal were used as negative and positive control groups respectively. Filled capillary tubes were kept in 0.2 mL microtubes and incubated at $37^{\circ}C$. Each material was divided into 3 groups for testing at intervals of 24 hr, 7 day and 28 day after mixing. Human monocytes were isolated from peripheral blood mononuclear cells and cocultered with 24 hr, 7 day and 28 day samples of different materials for 24 and 48 hr. Cell viability was evaluated using an MTT assay. Results: In all groups, the viability of monocytes significantly improved with increasing storage time regardless of the incubation time (p < 0.001). After 24 hr of incubation, there was no significant difference between the materials regarding monocyte viability. However, at 48 hr of incubation, ProRoot MTA and Biodentine were less cytotoxic than CEM cement and Biosealer (p < 0.01). Conclusions: Biodentine and ProRoot MTA had similar biocompatibility. Mixing ProRoot MTA with PBS in place of distilled water had no effect on its biocompatibility. Biosealer and CEM cement after 48 hr of incubation were significantly more cytotoxic to on monocyte cells compared to ProRoot MTA and Biodentine.

합성방법과 소결 온도가 PZNN-PZT 압전 세라믹스 소재특성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the Mixing Method and Sintering Temperature on the Characteristics of PZNN-PZT Piezoelectric Ceramic Materials)

  • The impact of different mixing methods and sintering temperatures on the microstructure and piezoelectric properties of PZNN-PZT ceramics is investigated. To improve the sinterability and piezoelectric properties of these ceramics, the composition of $0.13Pb((Zn_{0.8}Ni_{0.2})_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-0.87Pb(Zr_{0.5}Ti_{0.5})O_3$ (PZNN-PZT) containing a Pb-based relaxor component is selected. Two methods are used to create the powder for the PZNN-PZT ceramics. The first involves blending all source powders at once, followed by calcination. The second involves the preferential creation of columbite as a precursor, by reacting NiO with $Nb_2O_5$ powder. Subsequently, PZNN-PZT powder can be prepared by mixing the columbite powder, PbO, and other components, followed by an additional calcination step. All the PZNN-PZT powder samples in this study show a nearly-pure perovskite phase. High-density PZNN-PZT ceramics can be fabricated using powders prepared by a two-step calcination process, with the addition of 0.3 wt% MnO2 at even relatively low sintering temperatures from $800^{\circ}C$ to $1000^{\circ}C$. The grain size of the ceramics at sintering temperatures above $900^{\circ}C$ is increased to approximately $3{\mu}m$. The optimized PZNN-PZT piezoelectric ceramics show a piezoelectric constant ($d_{33}$) of 360 pC/N, an electromechanical coupling factor ($k_p$) of 0.61, and a quality factor ($Q_m$) of 275.

마분말 첨가 머핀 제조조건 최적화 (The Optimization of Muffin with Yam Powder Using Response Surface Methodology)

  • This purpose of this study was to develop a functional muffin by adding yam powder in the shape of a muffin as a partial surrogate for wheat flour. The yam has been found to be effective for liver and kidney function, as well as the digestion of protein, since it produces glucuronic acid in the body. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the optimal mixing conditions of yam muffins by adjusting the amounts yam powder, butter, and sugar. The mixing conditions for the yam muffins included 3 categories: yam powder $(X_1)$, sugar $(X_2)$, and butter $(X_3)$ by Central Composite Design (CCD) which was optimized by Response Surface Methodology (RSM). The effects of the three variable additions on muffin quality were examined via physical and chemical experiments, such as the analysis of texture (hardness, cohesiveness, springiness, gumminess), coloration (lightness, redness, yellowness), and height. Lastly, we performed a sensory test, which revealed significant findings for gumminess, color, appearance, flavor, softness (p<0.05), redness, and overall quality (p<0.01). Consequently, the optimal mixing rate which best satisfied the sensory items were 34.35g of yam powder, 80.15 g of sugar, and 80.55 g of butter.

Large eddy simulation on the turbulent mixing phenomena in 3×3 bare tight lattice rod bundle using spectral element method

  • Subchannel code is one of the effective simulation tools for thermal-hydraulic analysis in nuclear reactor core. In order to reduce the computational cost and improve the calculation efficiency, empirical correlation of turbulent mixing coefficient is employed to calculate the lateral mixing velocity between adjacent subchannels. However, correlations utilized currently are often fitted from data achieved in central channel of fuel assembly, which would simply neglect the wall effects. In this paper, the CFD approach based on spectral element method is employed to predict turbulent mixing phenomena through gaps in 3 × 3 bare tight lattice rod bundle and investigate the flow pulsation through gaps in different positions. Re = 5000,10000,20500 and P/D = 1.03 and 1.06 have been covered in the simulation cases. With a well verified mesh, lateral velocities at gap center between corner channel and wall channel (W-Co), wall channel and wall channel (W-W), wall channel and center channel (W-C) as well as center channel and center channel (C-C) are collected and compared with each other. The obvious turbulent mixing distributions are presented in the different channels of rod bundle. The peak frequency values at W-Co channel could have about 40%-50% reduction comparing with the C-C channel value and the turbulent mixing coefficient β could decrease around 25%. corrections for β should be performed in subchannel code at wall channel and corner channel for a reasonable prediction result. A preliminary analysis on fluctuation at channel gap has also performed. Eddy cascade should be considered carefully in detailed analysis for fluctuating in rod bundle.

현수, 배관 내 혼합 폭기방식 적용이 돼지분뇨 슬러리의 액상 비료화에 미치는 영향 (Effect of the Application of a Suspended and a Mixing-in-Pipe Type Aerator on the Liquid Fertilization of Pig Manure Slurry)

  • 폭기방식에 따른 돼지분뇨 슬러리의 액비화 효과를 분석하기 위하여 3 가지 형태의 산기방식을 적용하였다. 첫 번째 형태는 기존에 일반적으로 사용되는 산기방식으로서 바닥부분에 고정식으로 설치된 산기장치를 통해 공기를 상향식으로 공급하는 방식이다. 두 번째 방식은 기존 바닥부분 고정 설치식 산기장치를 현수식으로 적용하여 시험용 반응조 바닥으로부터 약 10 cm정도 띄워서 설치하였다. 세번째 방식은 액비조 내의 돼지분뇨 슬러리를 펌프로 흡입하여 다시 액비조로 보내는 순환용 배관에 벤추리 방식의 공기 공급부를 설치하여 배관 내를 흐르는 액비에 공기를 혼합하는 방식의 반응조이다. 고액분리한 돈분뇨 슬러리를 시험용 반응조에 주입 후 1 주일간 정치시켜 고형물을 침전시킨 다음에 폭기 시험을 개시하였다. 바닥 고정식 폭기방식의 반응조에 투입된 원 슬러리 중의 유기물과 T-N, T-P, BOD 농도는 각각 1.82%, 4,400 mg/L, 360 mg/L, 13,542 mg/L 이었으며 폭기 실시 후 채취한 슬러 중의 유기물과 T-N, T-P, BOD 농도는 2.01%, 4,400 mg/L, 420 mg/L, 16,824 mg/L 수준이었다. 본 연구에서 시험용으로 제작, 사용된 배관 내 혼합방식의 시험구에서의 상기 수질분석 항목의 농도는 각각 1.58%, 3.700 mg/L, 260 mg/L, 15,735 mg/L 에서 1.96%, 4,000 mg/L, 340 mg/L, 18,098 mg/L 수준으로 변화하였다. 바닥 폭기방식과 배관 내 혼합방식의 두 가지 폭기조의 중층 부분에서의 측정한 상기 수질분석 항목의 농도는 변화정도는 각각 10.4%, 0%, 16.7%, 24.2%와 24.0%, 8.1%, 30.8%, 15.0% 인 것으로 분석되어 배관 내 혼합방식에서의 혼합효과와 액비조 내 액비성분의 균질도 정도가 상대적으로 더 높은 것으로 분석되었다. 폭기조 표면에 생성되는 거품 층의 두께는 배관 내 혼합방식이 더 얇게 형성되는 결과를 보였다.
