  • In Jungian theory the developmental stages of human life are symbolized as a circle that represents the wholeness, and the open ended process towards the wholeness is called Individuation. In the belief that every human being has his or her own "Music Child" that represents one of the creative, genuine, healthy cores of the self, we are all musical beings, and each individual has his or her own relationship to music. Musical individuation therefore refers an open-ended process towards the wholeness in music. Being a Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapist, who values the therapeutic essence of innate creativity and uses improvisational music to maximize it, helped me realize that not only the client but also the therapist has to reach his or her own musical self, Music Child, in order to facilitate any change or growth through music. This realization led me to start a journey towards my own musical individuation. Hence, this essay is a very personal document illustrating my ongoing journey towards musical individuation that will allow me to become more whole and genuine in music.

  • This study is a report about the two summer camps of 2009 and 2010, which were held by some gifted classes of Liberal Arts areas in Chungnam Province. The students' self- directed methods, making an own project topic and an outline plan for that by students themselves before the camp, raised up the students' satisfaction of the camp effectively. Staying with their peer students and teachers for 3 days gave the gifted students a chance for relationship, self-confidence, and self-sufficiency. These joint summer camps provided the students with cognitive development, motivations and a chance to meet other gifted students. Teachers' preparation for the camp, their concrete feedback to each student's project, and students' time spending on one's own camp project were correlated with the students' satisfaction of the camp program. Experience of teacher training in gifted education made significant differences in understanding gifted students and expectations of students' social and emotional development throughout and after the camp.

Through the story of life, the researchers explored how the participant experienced according to the three - dimensional narrative inquiry space (time, place, interaction). The results of this study is that the contact (self - awareness process) with self - experience through focusing training abled the counselor to facilitate clients' own self-contact during the psychotherapy process and as a result the counselor was able to establish 'relational depth' with clients. • This study examined links between parental monitoring of child's daily activities, 3 sources of parents' knowledge, and children's deviant behaviors and self-esteem. Participants were 276 tenth grade boys. Children completed questionnaires about parental monitoring and their own internal adjustments and deviant behaviors. High parental control was linked to less deviant behavior in children regardless of children's feelings of being controlled. The association between parental control and children's feelings of being controlled was moderated by children's depression. Parental control was not related to children's depression and self-esteem, and further, children's feelings of being controlled were not related to self-esteem after controlling for depression. The findings suggest that parental control efforts are an effective way to prevent children's deviant behaviors.

  • A service robot can identify its own position relative to landmarks, the locations of which are known in advance. The main contribution of this research is that it gives various ways of making the self-localizing error smaller by referring to special landmarks which are developed as high gain reflection material and coded array associations. In this paper, the authors propose a set of indices to evaluate the accuracy of self-localizing methods using the selective reflection landmark and infrared projector, and the indices are derived from the sensitivity enhancement using 3D distortion calibration of camera. And then, the accurarcy of self-localizing a mobile robot with landmarks based on the indices is evaluated, and a rational way to minimize to reduce the computational cost of selecting the best self-localizing method. The simulation results show a high accuracy and a good performance.

The participants were 12 persons who had participated in self-leading leisure activities. Data were collected with in-depth interviews and analyzed by grounded theory in Strauss and Corbin. Through analyzing process, 28 concepts, 14 subcategories, and seven categories were deduced. The periods of process were divided four stages, plateau, the phage of recognition in social duties, the phage of strengthen in competency, and the phage of reconstruct in successful lifestyle. The core category, 'disclosing of self-esteem' incorporated the relationship between and among all categories and explained the process. The findings indicate that self-leading leisure activities helped to their own health and developed their social activities. Therefore, we would consider in developing health promotion program about favoring leisure activities factors for the middle age office worker.
